Objective To evaluate the application of rabbit liver cancer model in teaching interventional medicine for graduate students.Methods A total of 10 first-year master graduate students majoring in Radiological Imaging(Interventional Medicine).who were studying at Zhengzhou University of China,were enrolled in this study.The rabbit liver cancer model was used as the experimental teaching materials.The teaching contents included the establishment of rabbit liver cancer model,the interventional operation of rabbit liver cancer,the method of scientific research and teaching,the evaluation of the teaching effect,and the survey of student satisfaction.Results Under the guidance of teaching tutor,the success rate of VX2 rabbit liver cancer modeling performed by the 10 master graduate students majoring in interventional medicine was 100％,and the mean operational quality assessment score was(11.5±2.0)points.During the operation of interventional surgery,the success rate of femoral artery puncture was also 100％,and the mean score for each interventional operation was(11.8±2.3)points.The students'experimental designs were evaluated by the expert group,the results were as follows:2 cases were rated as excellent,7 cases were rated as good,and one case was rated as moderate.The degree of students'satisfaction with experimental teaching method was high,the specific scores of each item are as follows:the understanding of the rabbit liver cancer model was(4.80±0.40)points,the command of interventional technology was(4.60±0.49)points,and the quality and practicability of teaching materials was(4.90±0.30)points.Conclusion This teaching method of using rabbit liver cancer model experiment can improve the animal experiment ability,interventional operation ability and scientific research innovation ability of graduate students.Animal model teaching method is an innovation of teaching mode for graduate students majoring in interventional medicine.

Objective To observe the reproducibility of radiomics feature(RF)extracted from virtual monoenergetic image(VMI)of rabbit VX2 hepatoma models obtained with 3 different dual-energy CT(DECT)systems,and to explore relationship of reproducibility and diagnostic performance of RF.Methods Fifteen rabbits with VX2 hepatoma were randomly divided into 3 groups(each n=5).Contrast-enhanced abdominal CT scanning under volume CT dose index(CTDIvol)levels of 6,9 and 12 mGy were performed with dual-source DECT(dsDECT),rapid kV switching DECT(rsDECT)and dual-layer detector DECT(dlDECT),respectively.VMI were reconstructed at 10 keV increments from 40 to 140 keV.RF were extracted from VMI,the reproducibility was assessed using intra-class correlation coefficient(ICC),and those with ICC≥0.8 were considered as reproducible RF.The percentage of reproducible features(denoted by R)were compared among different scanner pairings and different CTDIvol levels.Within each CTDIvol group,the reconstruction energy levels yielding the maximum number(denoted by N)of common RF across different scanner pairings were identified.The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was drawn,the area under the curve(AUC)was calculated,and the diagnostic efficacies of reproducible RF and other RF were compared under optimal reproducible conditions.Spearman correlation coefficient between ICC and the corresponding AUC of RF were calculated.Results RrsDECT-dsDECT(6.45％,95％CI[2.36％,8.87％])was higher than RdlDECT-dsDECT(0.72％,95％CI[0.15％,1.79％])and RrsDECT-dlDECT(1.43％,95％CI[0.60％,4.06％])(all adjusted P＜0.05),R9mGy(3.70％,95％CI[1.31％,5.73％])and R12mGy(2.63％,95％CI[0.60％,6.69％])were higher than R6mGy(1.31％,95％CI[0.12％,1.55％])(all adjusted P＜0.05).The optimal reproducible reconstruction energy levels of RF under CTDIvol of 6,9 and 12 mGy concentrated at 50-70 keV.AUC of reproducible RFs were higher than of other RF(all adjusted P＜0.05)and had certain correlation with the reproducibility(rs=0.102-0.516,P＜0.05).Conclusion The reproducibility of RF extracted from contrast-enhanced VMI CT images of rabbit VX2 hepatoma models associated with DECT scanner,CTDIvol level and reconstruction energy level.RF with higher reproducibility might have better diagnostic performance.

AIM:To investigate the impact of honokiol(HKL),an activator of silent information regulator 3(SIRT3),on postoperative cognitive dysfunction(POCD)in mice,and to explore the potential mechanisms.METHODS:Ten-month-old male C57/BL6 mice were randomly divided into control(Con)group,surgical(Sur)group and Sur+HKL group(n=10).The mice in Sur+HKL group were intraperitoneally injected with HKL for 7 d before modeling.The mice in Sur and Sur+HKL groups underwent tibial fracture open reduction and internal fixation to establish the POCD model.The assessment of cognitive function was conducted using the open-field test(OFT),novel object recognition test(NORT),Morris water maze test(MWMT),and Y-maze test(YMT).Nissl staining was employed to assess the morphology,struc-ture and vitality of hippocampal and cortical neurons in mice.The protein expression of glutathione peroxidase 4(GPX4),solute carrier family 7 member 11(SLC7A11),acyl coenzyme A synthetase long-chain family member 4(ACSL4),SIRT3 and nuclear factor E2-related factor 2(NRF2)in the mouse hippocampus was detected by Western blot,while im-munofluorescence staining was utilized to determine GPX4 level in mouse neurons.RESULTS:No statistically signifi-cant differences were observed among the groups in terms of total distance moved and central zone exploration during the OFT(P>0.05).However,the results from the NORT and YMT indicated that the mice in Sur group exhibited significant-ly lower recognition indexes,reduced alternation rates(P<0.01),and decreased percentages of entries and crossing time into the new arm after side arm blockade(P<0.01),when compared with Con group.Furthermore,the mice in Sur group demonstrated a slower decrease in latency during the learning period of MWMT,while significantly lower latency,fewer crossing number and lower percentage of time in the target quadrant were observed during the testing period of MWMT(P<0.01).The above indicators were obviously enhanced in Sur+HKL group compared with Sur group(P<0.01).The results of Nissl staining indicated lighter neuronal staining in the hippocampal CA1 region and medial prefrontal cortex in Sur group,accompanied by a significant reduction in the number of Nissl-stained positive neurons(P<0.01).Notably,HKL pretreatment demonstrated a significant improvement in neuronal vitality.Analysis of Western blot revealed that compared with Con group,the expression of SIRT3,GPX4,SLC7A11 and NRF2 in Sur group was significantly reduced,while the expression of ACSL4 was significantly increased(P<0.05).However,these alterations were reversed after treatment with HKL(P<0.05).Immunofluorescence staining of hippocampal neurons corroborated the findings from Western blot analy-sis,demonstrating a notable decrease in GPX4 expression in hippocampal neurons of Sur group,which was significantly restored after HKL pretreatment(P<0.01).CONCLUSION:Treatment with HKL attenuates POCD in mice,potentially through its inhibitory effect on hippocampal neuronal ferroptosis.

With the development of detection methods, various biomarkers of liver cancer have been detected constantly, which is of great significance for the early diagnosis and real-time monitoring of liver cancer after treatment. Based on the differences in the sensitivity and specificity of different biomarkers, exploration of the value of diverse biomarkers in the diagnosis and prognosis assessment of liver cancer can provide an important reference for clinicians to scientific and rational application of distinct biomarkers.

Objective: To explore the therapeutic value of interventional methods for hemorrhage caused by mandibular arteriovenous malformations. Methods: The clinical data of 7 patients (3 males and 4 females) with mandibular arteriovenous malformations treated by interventional therapy from January 2012 to January 2018 in the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhengzhou University were retrospectively analyzed. Of all patients, 4 patients suffered from sudden massive hemorrhage and 3 patients suffered from spontaneous repeated bleeding. The age ranged from 8.0 to 13.0 (10.6±1.7) years. Of the 7 patients, 3 underwent interventional embolization via arteries and veins, and 4 underwent embolization only via arteries. The embolic materials were polyvinyl alcohol granules and coils. The follow-up period was 9—18 months and the curative effect was observed. Results: Among the 7 patients, 4 cases of acute massive hemorrhage were effectively controlled after interventional operation, 3 cases of chronic bleeding disappeared after interventional operation. No recurrence of bleeding occurred during the follow-up period, only 1 patient presented with oral infection and gingival swelling and hyperplasia. The symptoms were effectively controlled after anti-infection and debridement. No severe complications occurred in all patients. Conclusion Interventional therapy for ateriovenous malformation with hemorrhage is effective, safe and feasible, which is worthy of clinical application.

Objective To observe the clinical effect of "palace bone-setting" Dieda-Wanying cream combined with Yuan Shu Zhi Pai Zi fixation in the treatment of acute ankle sprain.Methods A total of 60 patients with acute ankle sprain were collected and randomly divided into observation group and control group according to the random number table method,with 30 cases in each group.The observation group was treated with "Palace Bone-setting" Dieda-Wanying cream combined with Yuan Shu Zhi Pai Zi for fixation.The control group was treated with external application of diclofenac diethylamine emulsion and fixation of elastic bandage.Two groups were treated for 14 days.The patients pain disappeared time and the swelling subsided,the VAS scale for assessment of ankle pain observed.The American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) Ankle-after scoring system was used to assess the Ankle function,evaluation of clinical curative effect.Results The pain disappear time (9.7 ± 1.6 d vs.13.4 ± 3.5 d,t=5.638),regression and time (3.5 ± 1.3 d vs.6.7 ± 1.1 d,t=10.292) in the observation group were significantly earlier than those in the control group (P＜0.01).After treatment,VAS score (1.9 ± 1.1 vs.3.3 ± 1.3,t=4.503) of the observation group significantly lower than that of the control group (P＜0.01);AOFAS score (93.6 ± 3.9 vs.84.2 ± 5.1,t=8.019) significantly higher than the control group (P＜0.01).Total effective rate in the observation group was 96.7％ (29/30),and the control group was 80.0％ (24/30),which the difference was statistically significant (x2=4.043,P=0.044).Conclusions The "Palace Bone-setting" Dieda-Wanying cream combined with Yuan Shu Zhi Pai Zi fixation has definite curative effect on acute ankle sprain,relieve pain,swelling and promote the ankle function.

Objective To investigate the safety and feasibility of the interventional therapy on hemobilia induced by hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm(PsAn).Methods The clinical data of 28 patients with hemobilia in our department was analyzed retrospectively.All the patients were firstly treated with internal medicine,and then treated by interventional therapy.The angiography clearly displayed the shape,size and location of the PsAn,and superselective embolism was performed during the operation.The symptomatic treatment and the bile duct drainage were performed after operation.Postoperative follow-up time was 1-3 6 months,and the follow-up endpoint was the death of patient.Results 28 patients were diagnosed as hepatic artery PsAn.The interventional embolization therapy on hemobilia was completely effective.A total of 110 spring coils were applicated in the study,there was no complication related to interventional therapy.One patient with hilar cholangiocarcinoma was dead due to infection and liver failure after four weeks of operation.Two patients with choledochal carcinoma died of tumor progression after 11.5 and 14.2 months of interventional therapy,respectively.In addition,2 patients with gastric carcinoma died of tumor progression after 4 and 6.5 months of operation,respectively,and 1 patient with common bile duct stones who underwent laparoscopic surgery died of complications of coronary heart disease after 5 months of interventional therapy. The other patients all had satisfactory therapeutic effect and recovered well.Conclusion The interventional therapy has definite therapeutic effect on hemobilia induced by hepatic artery PsAn.The technique is worthy of popularized clinically due to its features of simplicity,safety and reliablity.
