Hepatocytes located along the portal-central vein axis have heterogeneity in gene expression and function, which led to the concept of liver zonation. Cells in different regions play different roles in metabolic processes, and the coordination and cooperation between these cells are crucial for maintaining normal liver function. In recent years, the advancements in single-cell genomics and spatial transcriptomics technologies have significantly improved our understanding of liver zonation. This article summarizes the important role of metabolic zonation in maintaining liver function and its relationship with disease and aging, providing a theoretical basis for further research and therapeutic strategies.

With the advantage of high efficiency， low toxicity and targeting， liposomes have become the research hotspot of new drug preparations at home and abroad. In this paper， the research progress in recent years is reviewed from the aspects of preparation methods， classification and clinical application of liposomes. The results showed that in order to obtain more stable and controllable liposomes， scholars improved and optimized the traditional preparation methods and established novel preparation methods such as supercritical fluid methods， freeze-drying method and double-asymmetric centrifugation method. In order to enhance the efficacy and reduce toxicity， the conventional liposomes were optimized to get novel ones such as environmentally sensitive liposomes， long-circulating liposomes and multifunctional liposomes， which had greatly promoted the clinical application of liposomes. For now， liposomes have been used in many fields， such as anti-cancer agents， antimicrobial and vaccines， but most of the new liposomes are still in the early stage of development.

【Objective】 To investigate the feasibility of allogeneic platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for the treatment of herpes zoster wounds secondary to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), especially large ulcer wounds. 【Methods】 The treatment process of a patient with massive herpes zoster wounds in perineum and hip accompanied by extensive soft tissue necrosis secondary to SLE was retrospectively analyzed. The clinical efficacy of allogeneic PRP was explored combined with treatment key points and literature review. 【Results】 The patient′s wound bed was prepared until the wound was fresh, then treated externally with allogeneic PRP 3 times a week. The wound was healed completely after 42 days. 【Conclusion】 In the case of autologous PRP unavailable or unsuitable, allogeneic PRP is a safe alternative, which can effectively promote tissue regeneration, and this patient achieved curative effect in a short period of time.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of combination therapy with methylprednisolone (MP) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) on axonal remyelination and functional recovery after spinal cord injury in rats.

METHODSForty-five rats were randomly divided into three groups: Group A received MP and BDNF; group B received MP and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF); and group C received CSF only. Contusion injury to adult rat spinal cord was produced at the T(10) vertebra level followed by immediate intravenous MP or CSF, and was thereafter infused intrathecally with BDNF or CSF for 6 weeks. Axonal remyelination and functional recovery was observed using RT-PCR, immunohistochemistry and open field locomotion.

RESULTSAn increase of 28.4% +/- 2.3% in the expression of proteolipid protein (PLP) gene, an endogenous indicator of axonal remyelination, was demonstrated in group A 24 hours after injury. Ten weeks later, there were significant decreases in hematogenous inflammatory cellular infiltration in groups A and B compared to C (P < 0.05). Concomitantly, a significant amount of axonal remyelination was observed in group A compared to groups B and C (P < 0.05). Furthermore, combination therapy using MP and BDNF in group A resulted in stimulation of hindlimb activity as well as improvement in the rate of functional recovery in open field locomotion (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONSCombined therapy of MP and BDNF can improve functional recovery through mechanisms that include attenuating inflammatory cellular infiltration and enhancing axonal remyelination at the injury site. Such a combination may be an effective approach for treatment of spinal cord injury.

Objective To evaluate the endotoxin-neutralizing activity of modeling peptides from the limulus antilipopolysaccharide factor (MPLALFs, Ms) in vitro. Methods The endotoxin-binding activity of Ms was examined by biosensor technique and shown in values of Kon and Kd. The endotoxin-neutralizing effect was analyzed by limulus amebocyte lysate test. Results The biosensor technique results showed that the Kon values of M_0, M_1, M_2, M_3, M_4, M_6, M_8 and M_ 10 binding to LPS 055∶B5 were (840?5.716), (549?6.532), (842?6.530), (627?2.450), (996?5.716), (814?8.982), (556?1.633) and (635?2.449) arc second, of which M_4 and M_1 had the highest and lowest endotoxin-binding activity, respectively. The M_4 reacted to LPS with a Kd of 72.377 ?mol/L. The results obtained by the limulus amebocyte lysate test were the same with those from the biosensor technique. Conclusion M_4 has a potential good endotoxin-neutralizing effect in vitro.
