Objective:To observe the therapeutic efficacy of point catgut-embedding therapy combined with cupping therapy in treating simple obesity due to stomach heat and dampness obstruction,as well as its effects on Chinese medicine symptoms, obesity indicators, and blood lipid parameters. Methods:A total of 135 cases with simple obesity due to stomach heat and dampness obstruction were allocated into an embedding group,a cupping group, and a combined group using the random number table method, with 45 cases in each group. The embedding group received point catgut-embedding therapy alone, the cupping group was treated with cupping therapy alone, while the combined group underwent both embedding therapy and cupping therapy. The same points were used in the three groups. The treatment was performed once daily, and consecutive 28-day treatment was taken as 1 treatment course. The therapeutic efficacy was evaluated, and the changes in the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)symptom score, obesity indicators[body mass(BM),body mass index(BMI),body fat percentage(BFP),waist circumference, and waist-to-hip ratio],and blood lipid parameters[triglyceride(TG)and total cholesterol(TC)]were observed after 3 consecutive courses. Results:After 3-course treatment, the total effective rate in the combined group was 93.3%,higher than 82.2%in the embedding group and 73.3%in the cupping group(P<0.05),and the total effective rate of the embedding group was higher than that of the cupping group(P<0.05).Compared to those before treatment, the TCM symptom score, obesity indicators, and blood lipid parameters reduced significantly in the three groups(P<0.05 or P<0.01),and indicators in the combined group were lower than those in the other two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:The synergistic application of point catgut-embedding therapy and cupping therapy can improve TCM symptoms,obesity-related indicators, and blood lipid parameters of patients with simple obesity due to stomach heat and dampness obstruction;compared to the use of either point catgut-embedding therapy or cupping therapy alone, the combined application of the two therapies shows a more significant therapeutic effect.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is susceptible to systemic complications. Especially, sarcopenia is an independent risk factor for COPD patients that can exacerbate respiratory muscle fatigue, lead to a higher risk of falls and fractures, and lower the quality of life. The pathogenesis of sarcopenia involves such aspects as mitochondrial dysfunction, insulin resistance, changes in skeletal muscle fiber types, and an imbalance in protein synthesis and breakdown. As nutrition support and exercise rehabilitation therapy frequently have limited effectiveness,it is urgent to find a way to slow the progression of COPD with sarcopenia. Numerous studies conducted in recent years have discovered a potential link between pulmonary microbiome disorders and the gut microbiota of COPD patients. Furthermore,a wide range of functions of gut microbiota and its metabolites have been demonstrated, such as regulating inflammation and immunity, glucose and lipid metabolism, and mitochondrial function. According to the Zangxiang theory in Chinese medicine, there are intimate connections between the spleen, intestine, and muscle, and gut microbiota may be the most essential part of ameliorating "spleen governing muscle" and increasing muscle mass and strength. This study aims to expound on the effect mechanism of gut microbiota in slowing the progression of COPD with sarcopenia, thereby furnishing novel perspectives and recommendations for forthcoming investigations and therapeutic applications.

Objective Using CT perfusion (CTP) technique,to investigate the graft perfusion changes in patients with hepatic artery stenosis (HAS) with or without ischemic-type biliary lesions (ITBL) after orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT).Methods Thirteen recipients with HAS received CTP scan of the liver, including 8 with ITBL and 5 without ITBL.For all patients, the diagnosis of HAS was made by CTA,and the diagnosis of ITBL by percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography.CT perfusion indices were obtained, including hepatic artery perfusion (HAP),portal vein perfusion (PVP),total liver perfusion (TLP) and hepatic perfusion index (HPI).Results Of the 13 patients with HAS,mean HAP in patients with and without ITBL was 59.8 and 35.1 ml·min-1 ·100 ml-1 (P =0.021,two-tailed paired Student t test) ; mean PVP was 125.4 and 166.2 ml·min-1·100 m1-1 (P =0.016) ; mean TLP was 185.2 and 201.3 ml· min-1 · 100 ml-1 (P =0.306) ; and mean HPI was 33.6 and 18.2 (P =0.005),respectively.Conclusion Using CTP technique, liver perfusion changes were reflected by measuring CTP indices noninvasively.Compared to those without ITBL in this study,HAP and HPI in patients with ITBL were higher and PVP was lower, which may be contributed to biliary inflammation.
