Objective:To explore the value of serum matrix metalloproteinase-1 (matrix metalloproteinase-1), and phosphatase and tensin hmmlogydeleted on ten (PTEN), in predicting osteoporosis (OP) in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) .Methods:The clinical data of.218 pregnant women with GDM treated in Linyi People’s Hospital from Sep. 2019 to Feb. 2023 were retrospectively collected and included in the GDM group. Another 98 healthy pregnant women who underwent physical examination during the same period were selected as the control group. Age, body mass index (BMI), blood glucose related indexes and serum MMP-1 and PTEN levels were compared between the two groups. According to the occurrence of osteoporosis (OP) in the second and third trimester of pregnancy, the GDM group was divided into OP group and non-OP group. Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of OP in pregnant women with GDM in the second and third trimesters. ROC curve was drawn to analyze the predictive value of serum MMP-1 and PTEN levels for osteoporosis in GDM pregnant women in the second and third trimesters.Results:Body mass index (BMI), fasting blood glucose (FBG), glycated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) and serum MMP-1 and PTEN levels in GDM group were higher than those in control group, but BUA, SOS and SI were lower than those in control group ( t=6.18, 12.68, 9.91, 11.42, 7.70, 5.63, 5.76, 9.84, all P<0.05). Among 218 GDM women, 29 cases had OP and 189 cases did not have OP. There were no significant differences in fasting blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin, blood calcium, blood magnesium, or blood phosphorus between the two groups (statistical value: 0.96, 0.86, 1.35, 1.06, 0.49, P>0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that age, abnormal increase of MMP-1 and PTEN levels were independent risk factors for OP in GDM women in the second and third trimesters [ OR (95% CI) =1.260 (1.103-1.440) ,1.075 (1.031-1.120) ,1.055 (1.023-1.089), all P<0.05]. ROC curve showed that the AUC of MMP-1 and PTEN in predicting OP in GDM pregnant women in the second and third trimesters were 0.824 and 0.777, respectively. The AUC of the combination of the two in predicting OP in GDM pregnant women in the second and third trimesters was 0.933, and the specificity and sensitivity were 83.04% and 93.48%, respectively, which were higher than those of single detection. Conclusions:MMP-1 and PTEN in early pregnancy may play a potential role in the prediction of OP in pregnant women with GDM. Close monitoring of MMP-1 and PTEN levels may provide new ideas for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of OP high-risk patients.

ObjectiveTo study the genetic diversity and genetic relationship of Pinellia ternata germplasm resources and provide the basis for germplasm identification， variety breeding， and resource conservation. MethodIn this study， 27 P. ternata were used as experimental materials to determine seven phenotypic characters， such as plant height， leaf length， and leaf width. Simple sequence repeats （SSR） primers were designed based on P. ternata transcriptome data， and polymerase chain reaction （PCR） amplification was performed on 27 P. ternata samples. The genetic diversity of P. ternata germplasm was analyzed by POPGENE32， PowerMarker V3.25， and NTSYS-PC 2.10e software. Objective To investigate the characteristics of transient remission of islet function and its influence on long-term prognosis in different onset age patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM).Methods 156 newly diagnosed T1DM patients who received treatment and completed follow-up were retrospectively chosen from January 2014 to January 2018.All patients were grouped according to the onset age including childhood group(n=18),adolescent group(n=108),adult group(n=30).The transient remission and retention rate of islet function of three groups were compared.The relationship between onset age and c-peptide level was analyzed.Results BMI,FC-P,and 2 hC-P levels in adolescent group were higher than those in childhood group(P<0.05).The positivity rates of protein tyrosine phosphatase and zinc transporter 8 antibodies in adult group were lower than those in childhood group(P<0.05).The incidence of transient remission of pancreatic function in adolescent group was higher than that in childhood and adult groups(P<0.05).The duration of transient remission of pancreatic function in adolescent and adult groups was lower than that in childhood group(P<0.05).The islet function retention rates in adolescent group after 1 and 4 years from onset were higher than those in childhood and adult groups(P<0.05).Generalized estimation equation analysis showed that the long-term FC-P and 2 hC-P in adolescent group were higher than those in childhood and adult groups(P<0.05).The FC-P and 2 hC-P levels in adult patients with previous transient remission were higher than those in childhood group(P<0.05).Conclusions Adolescent onset T1DM patients are more likely to have transient remission of islet function,while childhood onset patients have longer transient remission of islet function.In addition,the adult T1DM patients had the best long-term islet function in transient remission population.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical characteristics of overlapping syndromes of low muscle mass in Chinese patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and their impact on physical function. METHODS: Consecutive patients with RA were recruited from September 2019 to April 2024 at Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hospital. Clinical data including disease acti-vity, physical function and radiographic assessment were collected. All patients also finished measurement of body composition, grip strength, and gait speed, and overlapping syndromes of low muscle mass as well as malnutrition, sarcopenia, sarcopenic obesity, and cachexia were evaluated. The Stanford health assessment questionnaire- disability index (HAQ-DI) was used to evaluate physical function. Logistic regression was used to analyze the related factors of physical dysfunction. RESULTS: A total of 1 016 RA patients were recruited. Their mean age was (52.4±12.5) years, and 82.5% were female. There were 557 cases (54.8%) with overlapping syndromes of low muscle mass and all of them were malnutrition. On this basis, 326 cases (32.1%) exhibited sarcopenia, 124 (12.2%) sarcopenic obesity, and 33 (3.2%) cachexia. There were 584 (57.4%) of RA patients having physical dysfunction, with varying degrees of severity 421 (41.4%) mild, 124 (12.2%) moderate, and 39 (3.8%) severe. Compared with patients without overlapping syndromes of low muscle mass (n=459) or with malnutrition only (n=231), RA patients with both malnutrition and sarcopenia (n=326) had significantly higher core disease activity indicators and higher rate of physical dysfunction (69.6% vs. 42.0% vs. 56.6%). However, compared with patients without overlapping syndromes of low muscle mass, patients with malnutrition only had lower HAQ-DI score (median 0.0 vs. 0.1) and lower rate of physical dysfunction (42.0% vs. 56.6%). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that simultaneously overlapping malnutrition and sarcopenia were associated factors of physical dysfunction (OR=2.021, 95%CI: 1.067-3.828), but malnutrition only was not. CONCLUSION Simultaneously overlapping malnutrition and sarcopenia can deteriorate disease activity and physical dysfunction in RA patients. The screening and evaluation of overlapping syndromes of low muscle mass, especially sarcopenia should be emphasized in patients with RA.

Objective:To analyze epidemiological characteristics of leprosy in China from 2016 to 2020, and to provide a scientific basis for further elimination of leprosy.Methods:Data collation and statistical analysis were conducted on annual reports on leprosy epidemic surveillance in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions) from 2016 to 2020.Results:From 2016 to 2020, a total of 2 697 new cases of leprosy were reported in China, including 46 (1.71%) children, 894 (33.15%) females, 374 (13.87%) floating people, 2 443 (90.58%) multibacillary cases, and 546 (20.24%) cases of grade 2 disabilities. A total of 203 relapsed cases were reported in the meantime. By the end of 2020, there had been 1 893 registered leprosy cases in China, and the number of cases was 68.62% fewer than that in 2010 (6 032 cases) ; there were 36 (1.2%) counties or cities with a prevalence rate above 1 per 100 000, and 72 (17.73%) new cases suffered from grade 2 disabilities.Conclusion:From 2016 to 2020, the reported incidence and prevalence of leprosy in China steadily decreased year by year, and overall, leprosy was still lowly prevalent.

Objective:To analyse the factors associated with the selection of breast- conserving surgery in early female patients with breast cancer.Methods:The targeted patients were females diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and received surgical treatment at Fujian Provincial Hospital from January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2019. The targeted patients' clinical, demographic, and social-economic characteristics were extracted from the hospital health information system. Relevant information of their attending surgeons was collected through a smart-phone based self-respond online survey. We performed multivariate logistic regression to explore the associated factors with breast-conserving surgery (BCS) decision-making.Results:The age of the patient and attending surgeon and the economic development level of the patient's residence area were the associated factors with BCS decision-making of female early-stage breast cancer. By controlling the other factors unchanged, patients from middle-income areas were more likely to accept BCS ( OR=1.91, 95% CI: 1.01-3.62, P=0.05) than those from low-income areas. When the attending surgeon was at the average age of 45 years old, increasing of 1 year age of patient led to 4% decrease of the probability of BCS (95% CI: -0.07 - -0.01, P=0.01). When the patient was at the average age of 52 years old, increasing of 1 year age of the attending surgeon reduced 10% of the probability of BCS (95% CI: -0.19 - -0.01, P=0.03). The interaction effects related to the age of attending surgeon and patient for some observations to choose BCS were statistically significant, and the average interaction effect was 0.06% ( Z=2.11, s x =0.000 3, P<0.05). Conclusion:To promote breast-conserving surgery in the indicated early female patients with breast cancer, it is necessary to consider factors from both the surgeons and the patients.

Objective:To establish the intravenous infusion port maintenance network based on National Telemedicine Center of China, so as to enable nurses in hospitals in cities and counties to master fully totally implantable access port maintenance technology, improve the quality of infusion port maintenance.Methods:From April 2019 to May 2020, with the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University as the center, 17 county hospitals of the National Telemedicine Center of China established the infusion port maintenance network. A total of 162 clinical nurses were recommended by the selected hospitals as intravenous infusion port liaisons to undertake the maintenance of the intravenous infusion port in the hospital. The incidence of complications at the infusion port of 572 patients before and 623 patients after the establishment of the maintenance network was analyzed statistically. The evaluation scores of 162 infusion port liaison personnel on the relevant theoretical knowledge and skills of infusion port were also analyzed statistically. The self-designed questionnaire on intravenous infusion port patient maintenance satisfaction was used to investigate the satisfaction of 100 patients before and after the establishment of the maintenance network.Results:After the establishment of the maintenance network, the complication rate of patients at the infusion port was lower than that before the establishment of the maintenance network, the satisfaction of patients with the maintenance service at the infusion port was higher than that before the establishment of the maintenance network and scores of theory and operation skills of liaison staff were higher than those before the establishment, and the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:The maintenance network of intravenous infusion ports based on National Telemedicine Center of China can improve the technical level of infusion port maintenance of nursing staff in city and county hospitals, reduce complications caused by improper maintenance and improve patients satisfaction.

Objective:To observe the clinical effects of hot-wet compression with Xiaohua ointment for acne mastitis in mass stage and its impacts on humoral immune function and inflammation.Methods:85 cases of patients with acne mastitis in mass stage treated in our hospital from January 2018 to January 2019 were selected as the research objects and randomly divided into control group (42 cases) and observation group (43 cases). The control group taken Tuoli xiaodu powder and external use of purple detumescence cream, and the observation group received hot-wet compression with Xiaohua ointment additionally. All treated for 30 days. The clinical efficacy, symptom scores, breast mass size, humoral immune indexes, C-reactive protein (CRP) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) were compared, and the adverse reactions were recorded.Results:After treatment, the humoral immune indexes of the two groups had no significant change ( P>0.05), but the pain score, breast tumor size, mass score, CRP and ESR were significantly decreased than those before treatment ( P<0.05); compared with the control group, the pain score, breast tumor size and mass score in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( P<0.05). The total effective rate of the observation group was 83.7%, which was significantly higher than 59.5% of the control group ( P<0.05). There were no obvious adverse reactions in both groups. Conclusions:Hot-wet compression with Xiaohua ointment is effective and safe for patients with acne mastitis in mass stage, and could improve their inflammation.

Objective:To explore the association between parental socioeconomic status (SES) and preschoolers’ consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSB).Methods:In June 2018, all preschoolers from 15 kindergartens were selected from the jurisdiction of Education Commission in Dongcheng District of Beijing by using an equal-proportion stratified cluster sampling method in the study. A self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate the parents of preschoolers to obtain the basic information of preschoolers and parents, the consumption situation of preschoolers’ sugar-sweetened beverages and the perception of parents to SSB. A tatol of 3 217 preschoolers were finally included in the analysis. A generalized structural equation model was used to analyze the relationship between preschoolers' consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages and their parents' socioeconomic status and the mediating effect of their cognition of sugar-sweetened beverages. The size of mediating effect was estimated by using deviation correction non-parameter percentile Bootstrap method.Results:The age of 3 217 preschoolers was (4.23±0.67) years, of which 52.6% ( n=1 692) were boys, and 77.62% ( n=2 497) were SSB consumers. Among the parents of 3 217 preschoolers, fathers and mothers accounted for 24.90% ( n=801) and 75.10% ( n=2 416), and the M ( P25, P75) scores of SES were 66.7 (62.5, 69.5) and 69.5 (64.6, 71.4), respectively. The proportion of parents who took the initiative to learn about their children's consumption of SSB, lacked confidence in restricting preschooler's consumption of SSB and read nutrition labels before purchasing food was 74.08% ( n=2 383), 82.90% ( n=2 667) and 36.24% ( n=1 166), respectively. The generalized structural equation model showed that after adjusting for preschoolers’ gender, age, body mass index (BMI) of preschoolers and their parents, preschoolers’ consumption of SSB was negatively associated with their parents’ SES score [path coefficient (95% CI):-4.69×10 -2 (-6.56×10 -2,-2.69×10 -2) ]. The mediating effect of parents’ perception of SSB consumption could explain 48.71% of the total effect [path coefficient (95% CI):-2.28×10 -2 (-3.54×10 -2, -1.10×10 -2)]. Conclusion:The consumption of SSB in preschoolers is negatively associated with their parent’s SES, and this relationship is partially mediated by parent’s perception of SSB consumption.
