OBJECTIVE To carry out qualitative and quantitative analysis of volatile components of Olibanum, Olibanum prepared with vinegar and Olibanum stir-fried with Rush by GC-MS, and the quantitative study of the surface color by RGB model, provide auxiliary reference for the subjective evaluation indexes of Olibanum and its products. METHODS The volatile oil of Olibanum, Olibanum prepared with vinegar and Olibanum stir-fried with Rush were extracted. Explored the difference of volatile components by GC-MS in combination with principal component analysis and orthogonal partial least-squares discriminant analysis make a comprehensive analysis. Collected the image information of Olibanum, Olibanum prepared with vinegar and Olibanum stir-fried with Rush, then measured the surface color of them by RGB color model, and counted three color differences. RESULTS The differences of odor among oils might be related to the contents and types of terpenoids and alcohols, especially linalool and 1-octanol. According to surface color determination results, Olibanum stir-fried with Rush was R*76.86%-85.49%, G*61.96%-70.59%, B*38.04%-45.88%; Olibanum prepared with vinegar was R*56.86%-61.57%, G*38.04%-41.96%, B*27.45%-30.59%; Olibanum was R*69.41%-74.51%, G*56.86%-62.35%, B*40.78%-47.06%. By t test, there were significant differences among the three color measurement results, which were consistent with the differences recorded in the corresponding standards for "yellow white" Olibanum, "yellow brown" Olibanum prepared with vinegar, and "golden yellow" Olibanum stir-fried with Rush, indicating that the model was accurate and reliable. CONCLUSION The differences of volatile components and surface color of Olibanum, Olibanum prepared with vinegar and Olibanum stir-fried with Rush are studied to provide reference for character description of Olibanum and its processed products, and to avoid errors caused by traditional subjective evaluation.

Objective:To investigate the contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) features of inflammatory hepatocellular adenoma (I-HCA).Methods:The contrast-enhanced ultrasound features I-HCA of 28 cases from April 2009 to November 2019 in Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University were retrospectively analyzed, including arterial phase enhancement pattern, the homogeneity of enhancement, subcapsular enhancement, and the internal perfusion defect. All I-HCA lesions were divided into >5 cm group( n=9) and ≤5 cm group( n=19), the CEUS features between the two groups were compared. Results:All I-HCA lesions were hyper-enhanced in the arterial phase, among which 39.3% (11/28) showed diffuse filling, 39.3%(11/28) showed centripetal filling, and 21.4%(6/28) showed centrifugal filling pattern. Twenty-five percent (7/28) of I-HCAs showed heterogeneous enhancement, 10.7% (3/28) revealed unenhanced areas within the lesions. Subcapsular vessels were observed in 67.7 (21/31) of I-HCA lesions. Heterogeneous enhancement and unenhanced areas were more frequently detected in lesions >5 cm ( P=0.020, 0.026, respectively), while there was no difference in the enhancement pattern and subcapsular vessels between the two groups ( P>0.05). Inportal venous phase, 42.9%(12/28) of I-HCAs showed hypo-enhancement, and 57.1%(16/28) of lesions showed washout in late phase. According to "hyper-enhancement in arterial phase, sustained hyper- or iso-enhancement in portal venous and late phase" by CEUS, the diagnostic accuracy of benign lesion was 42.9%(12/28). According to any of hyper-enhancement pattern in arterial phase, subcapsular vascular enhancement, and sustained hyper- or iso-enhancement in portal venous and late phase, the diagnostic accuracy of I-HCA was 71.4% (20/28). Conclusions:CEUS is valuable in the diagnosis of inflammatory hepatocellular adenoma.

Objective:To report a rare case of paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) complicated with chronic tubulointerstitial nephropathy, combined with literature review, and discuss the clinical, imaging and pathological characteristics of the disease and the diagnosis and treatment ideas. Methods:The patient's clinical data, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and kidney pathological examination results, treatment measures and effects were collected and reported. Through systematic review of relevant literature, the clinical manifestations and pathogenesis of chronic tubular interstitial nephropathy complicated by PNH were summarized and discussed. Results:In this case, PNH was diagnosed for more than 30 years, the peripheral blood PNH clone was positive, urine specific gravity was 1.012, urine pH 6.0-7.0, urine protein (+), urine sugar (3+), serum creatinine 259 μmol/L, serum lactic acid dehydrogenase 800 U/L. MRI showed bilateral renal cortical signal was low intensity on both T1- and T2- weighted images. Kidney biopsy revealed remarkable chronic tubulointerstitial nephropathy with massive hemosiderin deposition in proximal tubular cells demonstrated by Prussian blue staining and electron microscopy. By using low-dose prednisone to control hemolytic attack and other supportive treatments, the patient's renal function has been stabilized for a long time. Conclusions:PNH complicated with chronic tubulointerstitial nephritis is easy to be misdiagnosed due to insidious onset. MRI and kidney histopathological examination are helpful to clarify the diagnosis. Early diagnosis and treatment are helpful to improve the prognosis of such patients.

Objective To compare the expression of leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in tissue and fluid samples from patients with endometriosis, and investigate whether LIF and IL-6 regulate VEGF in human endometriotic stromal cells (ESC). Methods The levels of VEGF, LIF, IL-6 in serum, peritoneal fluid of patients with and without endometriosis were measured by ELISA. The mRNA of these three factors in the ectopic and eutopic endometrial tissue and stromal cells were measured by real-time PCR. ESC derived from ovarian endometriomas were cultured using the method of primary cell culture with LIF and IL-6, and the level of VEGF mRNA and protein were measured by the method of real-time PCR and ELISA respectively. Results VEGF and IL-6 concentration were 1.2 and 1.3 times higher in the serum of patients with endometriosis than in the control group [(94±19) versus (78±17) ng/L; (45±14) versus (35±9) ng/L; all P<0.05]. VEGF and IL-6 concentration were 1.2 and 1.4 times higher in the peritoneal fluid of patients with endometriosis than in the control group [(110±25) versus (91±21) ng/L; (69±20) versus (49±15) ng/L; all P<0.05]. VEGF and IL-6 concentrations in peritoneal fluid of patients with endometriosis were 1.2 and 1.5 times higher than in serum (all P<0.01). VEGF, LIF and IL-6 mRNA expression were 2.2, 8.6, 44.7 times higher in ESC compared with the matching eutopic endometrial stromal cells (all P<0.01). LIF and IL-6 mRNA were 2.0 and 64.8 times higher in ectopic endometrial tissue than the matching eutopic endometrial tissue (all P<0.05).ESC cultured with LIF, IL-6 and LIF+IL-6 induce VEGF protein secretion [(106±18), (124±30), (140±27) ng/L] by 1.3 , 1.5 and 1.7 times (all P<0.05). Conclusion Overexpression of LIF and IL-6 may synergistically contribute to upregulation of VEGF in ESC and promote development of endometriosis.
