Medicine is the subject of studying human and its inherent humanistic attribute endows medicine with the temperature it deserves. However, with the continuous improvement of medical testing technology and treatment technology, medical workers pay more attention to diseases and ignore humanistic care, which has become an important factor in the aggravation of patients’ burden and the tension relationship between doctors and patients. There are many virtues in Chinese traditional culture. Sun Simiao’s medical ethics thought of "great doctor with professionalism and sincerity" embodies the core value of the humanistic spirit of Chinese traditional medicine. In his medical ethics thought, the moral and ethics of "great doctor with professionalism and sincerity", the medical practice attitude of "being cautious and diligent", the values of "benevolence for the world" and the professional conduct of "honesty and truth" still have strong practical significance at present. It is the good material to cultivate the humanistic spirit of medical students. This is of great value to integrate Sun Simiao’s medical ethics thought into cultivate medical students with both "professionalism" and "sincerity", practice the original intention of medical and health undertakings, and carry forward cultural self-confidence.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a type of highly prevalent heterogeneous degenerative disease that leads to joint pain, deformity, the destruction of articular cartilage, and eventual disability. The current treatment strategies for OA often suffer from systemic side effects, poor anti-inflammatory efficacy, and persistent pain. To address these issues, we develop light-inducible nanomedicine that enables the co-delivery of anti-inflammatory drug (diacerein, DIA) and small interfering RNA (siRNA) targeting nerve growth factor (NGF) for pain relief to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of OA. The nanomedicine is based on poly(β-amino-ester)-coated gold nanocages (AuNCs), which is further incorporated with the phase-change material (lauric acid/stearic acid, LA/SA). Following intra-articular (IA) injection in vivo, the nanomedicine displays high degree of drug accumulation and retention in the joint lesion of OA mouse models. The photothermal effect, induced by AuNCs, not only promotes DIA and siRNA release, but also upregulates the expression of heat shock protein 70 (HSP-70) to resist the apoptosis of chondrocytes in the inflammatory condition. The internalization of both DIA and siRNA results in strong anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects, which greatly contribute to the joint repair of OA mice. This study offers a promising combination strategy for OA treatment.

International Journal of Stem Cells 2021;14(3):310-319
Background and Objectives:
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has a major impact on the quality of life of patients, and renal fibrosis is a critical pathological change in the disease. It is very important to control the process of renal fibrosis to improve the quality of life of patients with CKD. The pathological mechanism of renal fibrosis is very complicated, and the current treatment strategy also has many flaws.
Methods:
and Results: To explore a better treatment, we collected exosomes from pluripotent stem cell (PSC)-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) and verified their therapeutic effect on renal fibrosis through In Vivo and In Vitro experiments. In this study, we found that PSC-MSC-derived comes could prevent the epithelial differentiation of NRK-52E cells, and with increasing exosome concentrations, the effect was improved. Furthermore, PSC-MSC-derived exosomes could reduce the pathological process of renal fibrosis, reduce inflammatory reactions and improve renal function in UUO mice. Moreover, the protective effect of exosomes against renal fibrosis may be achieved by increasing the expression of SIRT6 and decreasing the expression of β-catenin and its downstream products.
Conclusions
These findings suggest the possibility of PSC-MSC-derived exosomes as a new, effective therapeutic tool for kidney fibrosis.

Journal of Zhejiang University. Medical sciences 2020;49(2):178-184
OBJECTIVE:
To establish a SEIR epidemic dynamics model that can be used to evaluate the COVID-19 epidemic, and to predict and evaluate the COVID-19 epidemic in Hubei province using the proposed model.
METHODS:
COVID-19 SEIR transmission dynamics model was established, which took transmission ability in latent period and tracking quarantine interventions into consideration. Based on the epidemic data of Hubei province from January 23, 2020 to February 24, 2020, the parameters of the newly established modified SEIR model were fitted. By using Euler integral algorithm to solve the modified SEIR dynamics model, the epidemic situation in Hubei province was analyzed, and the impact of prevention and control measures such as quarantine and centralized treatment on the epidemic development was discussed.
RESULTS:
The theoretical estimation of the epidemic situation by the modified SEIR epidemic dynamics model is in good agreement with the actual situation in Hubei province. Theoretical analysis showed that prevention and control quarantine and medical follow-up quarantine played an important inhibitory effect on the outbreak of the epidemic. The centralized treatment played a key role in the rapid decline in the number of infected people. In addition, it is suggested that individuals should improve their prevention awareness and take strict self-protection measures to curb the increase in infected people.
CONCLUSIONS
The modified SEIR model is reliable in the evaluation of COVID-19 epidemic in Hubei province, which provides a theoretical reference for the decision-making of epidemic interventions.

Objective:
To investigate the value of 1H-magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H-MRS) in determining the content of liver triglyceride in patients with fatty liver disease (FLD), as well as its influencing factors.
Methods:
A total of 124 patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), chronic hepatitis B (CHB), or hepatitis B complicated by FLD who underwent liver biopsy in the Affiliated Hospital of Hangzhou Normal University were enrolled, and the clinical data, serological markers, FibroScan results, and 1H-MRS results were collected. A correlation analysis was performed with the results of liver biopsy as the gold standard, and the influence of factors including hepatitic B virus (HBV) infection and obesity on accuracy was analyzed. A one-way analysis of variance was used for comparison of means between the three groups, and the LSD or SNK test (for homogeneity of variance) or the Tamhane’s or Dunnett’s test (heterogeneity of variance) was used for comparison between any two groups. The t-test was used for comparison of continuous data between groups, and the chi-square test was used for comparison of categorical data. The MRS-PDFF receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was plotted, the area under the ROC curve (AUC) was calculated, the optimal cut-off points for the diagnosis of NAFLD were estimated, and sensitivity and specificity were calculated.
Results:
The NAFLD group (42 patients) and the CHB + NAFLD group (40 patients) had a significantly higher proton density fat fraction (PDFF, the content of triglyceride in the liver) than the CHB group (42 patients) (16.84±9.76/9.39 ± 5.50 vs 3.45 ± 1.63,

Chinese Journal of Experimental and Clinical Virology 2017;31(1):57-61
Objective:
We aimed, in our prospective study, to assess the predictive value of serum non-invasive and biochemical markers for clinical diagnosis of significant fibrosis (including early stages).
Methods:
We measured sH2a levels in serum, comparing with routine liver function markers. We compared blindly pretreatment serum samples from a cohort of hepatitis B patients without non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD), which had histological grades of liver fibrosis, with NAFLD individuals and CHB with NAFLD patients. Statistical analysis was by Student′s t test, and receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curves were drawn.
Results:
ROC curves showed that serum sH2a had greater diagnostic performance than routine liver function markers compared with histological grades of liver fibrosis(S0, S1-2, S3-4). ROC curves showed that using a sH2a cut-off point of 0.79 was with highest sensitivity as 63% and highest specificity as 80%. And sensitivity as 96.7% and specificity as 75.5% when using a sH2a cut-off point of 0.77.
Conclusions
sH2a has the potential to be a uniquely sensitive and specific novel marker for liver fibrosis and function.
