Chinese Journal of School Health 2026;47(1):27-31
Objective:
To investigate the factors influencing the co-prevalence of allergic rhinitis and obesity among primary and secondary school students in Inner Mongolia, so as to provide a data foundation and theoretical basis for developing targeted intervention measures.
Methods:
In September and October 2024, a stratified cluster random sampling method was employed to select 139 102 students from 539 schools across 12 leagues/cities and 103 banners/counties in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Participants who were diagnosed with allergic rhinitis by a doctor at least once within one year and had a body mass index ≥ 28 kg/m 2 were considered to have comorbid conditions.
Results:
The coprevalence rate of allergic rhinitis and obesity among primary and secondary school students in Inner Mongolia was 6.4% (8 931 cases). Lasso-Logistic regression revealed that nonboarding status, higher maternal education, consuming high protein foods ≥1 time daily, occasionally or never eating breakfast, engaging in moderate to vigorous physical activity for ≥60 minutes on fewer than half of holidays, and having been exposed to second hand smoke in person within the past seven days were associated with higher odds ratios for co-prevalence of allergic rhinitis and obesity( OR = 1.23 , 1.22-1.63, 1.20, 1.19, 1.38, 1.35); being female, higher grade level, residence in flag/county/district areas, non only child status, never having consumed a full glass of alcohol, non hypertensive status, and households without pets were associated with lower co-prevalence risks ( OR =0.65, 0.67-0.77, 0.81, 0.87, 0.73, 0.41, 0.68) (all P <0.05). The ROC curve indicated an area under the curve of 0.64 for the predictive model, demonstrating satisfactory discriminatory ability. The calibration curve showed consistency between predicted and actual occurrence probabilities.
Conclusions
The co-prevalence of allergic rhinitis and obesity among primary and secondary school students in Inner Mongolia is closely associated with demographic characteristics, dietary behaviours, and lifestyle habits. Future prevention and control strategies should prioritize these factors to implement targeted interventions.

BACKGROUND:More and more animal experiments and clinical studies have confirmed that electrical stimulation can promote the repair of peripheral nerve injury, but the specific mechanism is not yet fully understood. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of electrical stimulation-induced miR-741-3p regulating Radil on Schwann cell migration. METHODS:(1)Twelve male SD rats were randomly divided into electrical stimulation group and control group. The electrical stimulation group received continuous electrical stimulation for 7 days after sciatic nerve compression injury, while the control group was not treated after sciatic nerve compression. The injured nerves were taken on day 7 after operation. The expression difference of miR-741-3p between the two groups was verified by fluorescence in situ hybridization.(2)The target genes of miR-741-3p were predicted by miRDB,TargetScan, and miRWalk databases.(3)Schwann cells were transfected with miR-741-3p mimetic and its control,miR-741-3p inhibitor and its control,Radil siRNA and its control,miR-741-3p inhibitor+Radil siRNA and miR-741-3p inhibitor+siRNA control. The transfection efficiency was detected by RT-PCR.The migration ability of Schwann cells was detected by Transwell chamber. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)The fluorescence intensity of miR-741-3p in the electrical stimulation group was lower than that in the control group.(2)The results of database prediction showed that 69 genes might be the target genes of miR-741-3p.Radil was one of the predicted target genes, which was mainly involved in cell adhesion and migration.(3)Compared with the miR-741-3p inhibitor control group, the number of Schwann cell migration increased in the miR-741-3p inhibitor group(P<0.05).Compared with the miR-741-3p mimic control group, the number of Schwann cell migration in the miR-741-3p mimic group decreased(P<0.05).Compared with the siRNA control group, the number of Schwann cell migration was decreased in the Radil siRNA group(P<0.05).(4)Compared with miR-741-3p inhibitor control group, the expression level of Radil was increased in miR-741-3p inhibitor group.Compared with miR-741-3p mimic control group, the expression level of Radil was decreased in miR-741-3p mimic group.(5)Compared with miR-741-3p inhibitor+siRNA control group, the number of Schwann cell migration was reduced in miR-741-3p inhibitor+Radil siRNA group(P<0.05).The results showed that electrical stimulation promoted the migration of Schwann cells by down-regulating miR-741-3p and targeting Radil gene.

Objective:To investigate the association between the triglyceride-glucose(TyG)index and the incidence and mortality of cardiovascular disease(CVD)in a large population-based cohort. Methods:Participants aged 40-79 years without a history of CVD at baseline were drawn from the CHi-nese Electronic health Records Research in Yinzhou(CHERRY)study between January 1,2010,and May 31,2020.The TyG index was calculated using baseline triglyceride and fasting blood glucose.Cox proportional hazards models were used to assess the association between the TyG index and the composite outcome of CVD(incidence and mortality),adjusting for age, gender, education, region, smoking sta-tus,body mass index, systolic blood pressure, and total cholesterol.Hazard ratios(HR)and 95%confi-dence intervals(CI)were calculated.Nonlinear associations between the TyG index and CVD were fur-ther evaluated using restricted cubic splines, and subgroup analyses by gender and age were conducted to explore potential differences. Results:A total of 226 406 individuals were included, with a mean age of(55.0±9.7)years at baseline,46.8%of whom were men,and a median TyG index of 8.68.Over a median follow-up of 7.99 years,9 815(4.34%)participants experienced CVD incidence or mortality. After adjusting for age, gender, education, region, smoking status, body mass index, systolic blood pressure and total cholesterol, the risk of CVD increased with higher TyG index levels(P<0.001).The risk in the highest TyG quartile(TyG>9.10)was 42%higher than in the lowest quartile(TyG ≤8.32)(HR=1.42,95%CI:1.34-1.51).Individuals under 60 years had a higher HR for CVD compared with those aged 60 years and above(HR:1.71 vs.1.27,P<0.05).Restricted cubic spline analysis revealed a reverse L-shaped association between the TyG index and CVD risk in the overall population(P<0.001 for nonlinear trend),with risk increasing after the TyG index exceeded 8.67.However,the threshold varied by gender, with a lower threshold in women(8.51)than in men(8.67).Conclusion:A significant nonlinear relationship was revealed between the TyG index and CVD risk, with a threshold effect. The risk of CVD increased once the TyG index surpassed a certain threshold, with a lower threshold in women than in men. These findings suggest that cardiovascular risk prediction and interven-tions based on the TyG index should be gender-stratified,and early intervention for individuals under 60 years old might have important public health implications.

Objective To systematically evaluate the performance and methodological quality of the risk prediction models for urinary incontinence after radical prostatectomy,so as to provide a reference for selecting the appropriate risk prediction tool. Methods A systematic search was conducted in PubMed,Web of Science,Cochrane Library,CINAHL,EMBASE,CNKI,Wanfang,VIP,and Chinese biomedical literature database from inception to Jan.23,2024.Two researchers independently conducted literature screening and data extraction, and the prediction model risk of bias assessment tool(PROBAST)was applied to assess the risk of bias and applicability of the included studies.MedCalc software was used to perform a meta-analysis of the area under curve(AUC)of the validation groups using the random effect model, and the publication bias and sensitivity analysis were also performed. Results A total of 8 studies were included, with a combined sample size of 7 216 cases.Six models reported the AUC values, and 7 models reported calibration. The applicability of 2 studies was acceptable, while 6 were poor. The most commonly used type of prediction model was logistic regression. After excluding models with extreme AUC values, the random-effects meta-analysis result was 0.840(95%confidence interval 0.786 to 0.895),with no heterogeneity(I2=0%,P=0.737).The bias risk was high in all 8 studies, mainly due to retrospective cohort data, transformation of continuous variables into binary variables, unaddressed missing data, selection of predictors based on univariate analysis, incomplete report of the model discrimination and calibration, and lack of external validation.Egger test result indicated no significant publication bias. Conclusion The development and validation process of the existing risk prediction models for urinary incontinence after radical prostatectomy is still imperfect.Future research should construct prediction models based on multicenter and large-sample data, strengthen the clinical applicability assessment of the models, and strictly follow the reporting standards and procedures,so as to establish high-quality risk prediction models for clinical practice.

On the basis of that the fluorescence wavelength of copper nanoclusters(CuNCs)could cover the entire visible region, multicolor fluorescent CuNCs/starch composites were prepared and applied in fingermark development. With L-glutathione as the reducing agent and protective ligand, blue emissive and orange emissive CuNCs solutions were obtained in alkaline solutions at 90℃and 25℃,respectively.With the aggregation-induced emission effect induced by ethanol as a poor solvent, the fluorescence of orange emissive CuNCs with a higher intensity was achieved in an ethanol-water solution. With ascorbic acid as the reducing agent and 3-mercaptopropionic acid as the protective agent, green emissive CuNCs solution was prepared in an acid solution.Particle morphologies, chemical compositions and optical properties of these three CuNCs above were investigated using physical characterization and spectroscopic analysis, indicating that well-dispersed CuNCs had excellent photoluminescent properties. These CuNCs solutions were combined with starch to form composite powders by simply drying. The influences of the type of CuNCs and the ratio of CuNCs to starch on the emission wavelength and fluorescence intensity of the products were studied. The obtained CuNCs/starch composites could emit blue, green and orange fluorescence under 365 nm ultraviolet light, respectively, which were suitable for fingermark development.Minutiae and partial level-3 features of latent fingermarks could be effectively developed.High-quality fluorescence fingermark images would be captured using appropriate optical filters to eliminate background interference of various substrates.

This article reports a case of membranous nephropathy in an adolescent accompanied by monoclonal IgG1-κ deposition. The 16-year-old female patient was hospitalized for experiencing proteinuria and hematuria for more than 20 days. The patient had a history of mycoplasma infection and acute kidney injury, and renal pathology revealed glomerular membrane lesions accompanied by crescent formation. Electron microscopy showed electron dense deposits in the subepithelial and mesangial regions, and immunofluorescence demonstrated monotypic IgG1-κ deposits in the glomerulus. Bone marrow examination did not find any abnormal plasma cells, nor were there significant abnormalities in serum or urine free light chain κ/λ ratio. The diagnosis was proliferative glomerulonephritis characterized by membranous lesions with monoclonal IgG1-κ deposits. This disease is rare in children and adolescents, and currently there is limited understanding of its mechanism, with limited clinical treatment experience. This article aims to provide clinical insights through case analysis and literature review.
