Objective To understand the status of body image disturbance and its influencing factors in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS), so as to provide a scientific basis for the clinical management of AS. Methods A total of 353 AS patients admitted from January 2022 to December 2024 were selected as research subjects. Chinese version of Body Image Disturbance Questionnaire (BIDQ) was used to investigate the body image disturbance in AS patients. Single factor analysis was performed by t test and analysis of variance, and multiple factors were analyzed by multivariate linear regression. Results The total score of BIDQ in 342 AS patients was (25.01±4.22). Multivariate linear regression analysis results showed that self-paid medical expense, nighttime VAS score and negative emotion PANAS score could positively predict body image disturbance in AS patients (standardized regression coefficient=0.413, 0.413, 0.460, P<0.05), and PSSS score, positive emotion PANAS score and exercise management CDSSM score could negatively predict body image disturbance (standardized regression coefficient=-0.245, -0.134, -0.247, P<0.05). Conclusion The body image disturbance in AS patients is worthy of clinical attention. Nighttime pain, negative emotion and self-paid medical treatment can increase the risk of body image disturbance. Positive emotion, social support and high self-management level of exercise behavior can reduce the formation of body image disturbance, which can provide new ideas for clinical management of AS patients.

ObjectiveTo investigate the efficacy and safety of Babaodan Capsule （BBD） in the treatment of patients with chronic hepatitis B virus （HBV） infection with damp-heat in the liver and gallbladder comorbid with gallbladder polyps. MethodsA randomized， double-blinded， placebo-controlled single-center trial was conducted among 120 patients with chronic HBV infection who were admitted to Beijing YouAn Hospital， Capital Medical University， from August 2020 to April 2023， and they were divided into treatment group （BBD） and control group （placebo）， with 60 patients in each group. The course of treatment was 24 weeks， and follow-up assessments were conducted every 4 weeks. The primary outcome measures were the number and maximum diameter of gallbladder polyps （assessed by ultrasound）， and the secondary outcome measures included traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） syndrome score， blood lipid levels， and liver function parameters. The independent-samples t test or the Wilcoxon rank-sum test was used for comparison of continuous data between two groups， and the chi-square test or the Fisher’s exact test was used for comparison of categorical data between two groups； the Wilcoxon rank-sum test was used for comparison of ranked data between two groups； the generalized estimating equation was used to analyze repeated measures data. ResultsAfter 8 weeks of treatment， the treatment group had a significantly smaller diameter of polyps and a significantly lower number of polyps than the control group （Z=-1.76 and -1.80， both P<0.05）， and after 24 weeks of treatment， the treatment group had a significantly higher polyp reduction rate than the control group （30.51% vs 10.91%， P<0.05）. The subgroup analysis showed that patients receiving combined antiviral therapy， male patients， patients with a diameter of polyps of <5 mm， and patients with multiple polyps tended to achieve significantly greater benefits. At week 8 of treatment， the treatment group had a significantly better TCM syndrome score than the control group （Z=-2.35， P<0.05）； after treatment， compared with the control group， the treatment group had a significantly greater increase in high-density lipoprotein （Z=-1.85， P<0.05） and significantly lower levels of alanine aminotransferase （Z=-2.06， P <0.05）， aspartate aminotransferase （Z=-2.13， P<0.05）， total bilirubin （Z=-2.12， P<0.05）， and direct bilirubin （Z=-3.09， P<0.05）. No serious adverse events were reported in either group. ConclusionBBD can effectively reduce the size of gallbladder polyps， improve TCM syndrome score， and reduce the level of bilirubin in patients with chronic HBV infection with damp-heat in the liver and gallbladder， with a favorable safety profile， and it may be more suitable for patients receiving combined antiviral therapy and specific subgroups （male patients， patients with a diameter of polyps of <5 mm， and patients with multiple polyps.

ObjectiveTo explore the role of the histone deacetylase Sirtuin-1 （SIRT1）/p53 signaling pathway in promoting apoptosis of non-small cell lung cancer cells （NSCLC） induced by the co-stimulatory molecule B7 homolog 3 （B7-H3）. MethodsThe GEPIA 2 platform was used for survival analysis of NSCLC patients based on B7⁃H3 gene expression levels. The Gene Enrichment Analysis （GSEA） method was used to analyze the enrichment characteristics of B7⁃H3 molecules in the gene set of cell apoptosis. In the non-small cell lung cancer A549 cell line， B7⁃H3 was knocked down， and the protein expression levels of SIRT1 and p53 were detected by Western blot. B7⁃H3 was overexpressed in A549 cells and the apoptosis rate was analyzed by flow cytometry after Annexin V/PI double staining. Overexpression of B7⁃H3 and knockdown of SIRT1 were performed in A549 cell line. The expression levels of p53 and apoptosis-related proteins B-cell lymphoma/leukemia-2 （Bcl-2） and Bcl-2-associated X protein （Bax） were detected respectively by Western blot. Cell apoptosis rate was analyzed by flow cytometry after Annexin V/PI double staining. ResultsThe overall survival of the B7-H3 high-expression group was significantly lower than that of the low-expression group （P<0.01）. B7-H3 was significantly enriched in the cell apoptosis signaling pathway and the p53 signaling pathway （P<0.05）. Compared with the control group， the expression of SIRT1 was significantly downregulated， and p53 was significantly upregulated in the B7⁃H3 knockdown group （both P<0.001）. Overexpression of B7-H3 significantly up-regulated SIRT1 protein expression （P<0.05）， down-regulated p53 expression （P<0.01）， and markedly increased the Bcl-2/Bax ratio of apoptosis-related proteins （P<0.001）. The results of Annexin V/PI double staining showed that the apoptosis rate of A549 cells with overexpressed B7⁃H3 decreased （the apoptosis rate of the control group was 26.72%±4.13%， while that of the B7⁃H3 overexpression group was 13.87%±0.82%； P<0.01）. In B7-H3-overexpressing cell lines， SIRT1 knockdown significantly reversed apoptosis （P<0.05）， up-regulated p53 protein expression （P<0.001）， and markedly reduced the Bcl-2/Bax ratio （P<0.001）. ConclusionB7-H3 molecule inhibits the apoptosis of non-small cell lung cancer cells via the SIRT1/p53 signaling pathway.

Precise control of RNA fate is therefore essential for maintaining the continuity and fidelity of spermatogenesis, and its disruption represents a major molecular basis of male infertility. N⁶-methyladenosine (m⁶A), the most abundant internal RNA modification in eukaryotes, has emerged as a critical regulator of post-transcriptional gene expression. m⁶A methyltransferases (“writers”) catalyze the addition of a methyl group to the N⁶ position of adenosine, m⁶A demethylases (“erasers”) remove the modification, and m⁶A-binding proteins (“readers”) recognize m⁶A-modified transcripts. Through the coordinated actions of these factors, m⁶A regulates transcript fate at multiple levels, including RNA splicing, nuclear export, stability, translation, and decay. Emerging evidence indicates that m⁶A-mediated regulation is essential across multiple stages of spermatogenesis, including SSC self-renewal and differentiation, meiotic progression, maintenance of chromosomal stability, and sperm morphogenesis. Beyond its intrinsic functions in germ cells, m⁶A also contributes to the regulation of the testicular microenvironment. In sertoli cells, m⁶A is involved in maintaining blood-testis barrier integrity, RNA processing, and paracrine signaling, thereby providing structural and metabolic support for germ cell development. In Leydig cells, m⁶A regulates steroidogenesis, particularly testosterone synthesis, and participates in cellular stress responses and metabolic homeostasis. Through these mechanisms, m⁶A indirectly influences spermatogenesis by modulating the functional state of testicular somatic cells, highlighting an integrated regulatory mode that combines cell-intrinsic and microenvironment-mediated effects. Notably, distinct classes of m⁶A regulators exhibit pronounced stage-specific functions and coordinated division of labor, collectively forming a multilayered and dynamic regulatory network. Writers often display dosage- and temporal window-dependent effects; erasers contribute to stage-specific demethylation and functional compensation; while readers function through a “switch-buffer” dual-layer architecture, and RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) participate in substrate selection and post-transcriptional regulation. Importantly, emerging evidence suggests that some m⁶A-related proteins can function through noncanonical mechanisms independent of m⁶A recognition, such as intrinsic RNA-binding activity, helicase function, or ribonucleoprotein complex assembly, thereby expanding the functional landscape of the m⁶A regulatory system. Dysregulation of m⁶A machinery can lead to multiple spermatogenic defects, including impaired SSC self-renewal, meiotic arrest, abnormal chromatin remodeling, and defective sperm formation, ultimately resulting in male infertility. Despite substantial advances, several critical questions remain unresolved, including the distinction between m⁶A-dependent and -independent mechanisms, the spatiotemporal dynamics of m⁶A modifications at single-cell resolution, and the coordination and antagonism among different regulatory factors. In this review, we systematically summarize the dual regulation of spermatogenesis by germ cell-intrinsic mechanisms and the testicular microenvironment, and delineate the molecular mechanisms and stage-specific functions of the dynamic m⁶A regulatory network. We further discuss the current limitations in the field and propose feasible experimental strategies for future investigation. Collectively, this work aims to provide a comprehensive framework for understanding the epitranscriptomic regulation of spermatogenesis and to offer theoretical insights into the pathogenesis and clinical management of male infertility.

Background Ozone (O₃) is a major air pollutant. The existing monitoring system has uneven distribution of sites, insufficient coverage in underdeveloped areas, and low temporal resolution, making it difficult to obtain hourly data. This limits the dynamic identification of pollution and the formulation of prevention and control strategies. Objective To construct an hourly O₃ concentration estimation model based on ensemble machine learning, aiming to improve the accuracy of pollution exposure assessment and explore O₃ health impacts. Methods This study integrated land use regression modeling with modern machine learning techniques, employing random forest and XGBoost algorithms to construct base models, and stacking integration using non-negative least squares. The ensemble model was trained and validated across China using high-resolution, multi-source geographic data (e.g., meteorologicaldata, population density, land cover types, and aerosol optical thickness). It was tested in Taiyuan City, combined with a distributed lag non-linear model to analyze the association between O₃ and emergency admissions. Results The constructed ensemble model performed well in predicting O₃ concentration, with a higher coefficient of determination (R²) and a lower root-mean-square deviation (RMSE) compared to the single models. The R² improved from 0.90 to 0.92, and the RMSE decreased from 11.41 to 10.62, enhancing both prediction accuracy and generalization ability. In the application to Taiyuan City, the model successfully imputed the hourly-level data for the entire year. The distributed lag non-linear model analysis revealed that the relative risk (RR) values for the 6th to 8th days following O₃ exposure were 1.14 (95%CI: 1.01, 1.29), 1.16 (95%CI: 1.02, 1.31), and 1.14 (95%CI: 1.01, 1.29), respectively, which were significantly higher than 1, indicating a significant lagged association (lagged 6-8 d) between O₃ and the number of emergency room visits. Conclusion A high-precision, hourly-level O₃ concentration estimation model is successfully constructed by combining the land use regression model with an ensemble machine learning approach to provide a scientific basis for environmental policy formulation and public health intervention. The application of the model verifies its generalization ability and practical application value, which can provide a new technical framework for subsequent environmental health research.

Objective: To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of spinal curvature abnormalities among primary and secondary school students in Henan Province, and to explore their association with classroom environment, so as to provide scientific evidence for targeted prevention and control strategies. Methods: From September to October 2025, 751 schools from 158 counties/districts in Henan Province were chosen by using a stratified random cluster sampling technique. A total of 4 019 classrooms were monitored and physical examinations for 202 293 students were conducted. By matching classroom environment monitoring data with student physical examination information, Chi square test and Chi square test for trend were used for between group comparisons, and a multilevel Logistic regression model was used to analyze the association between classroom environment and spinal curvature abnormalities among primary and secondary school students. Results: The detection rate of spinal curvature abnormalities among primary and secondary school students in Henan Province was 2.48% in 2025. The rate was higher in girls ( 2.65 %) compared to boys (2.32%), higher in urban students (3.23%) compared to rural students (2.01%), and higher in wasted students (3.89%) compared to non wasted students (2.39%); all differences were statistically significant ( χ 2=22.92, 298.34 , 100.84, all P <0.05). Age and school stage were associated with an increasing trend in the detection rate of spinal curvature abnormalities ( χ 2 trend = 1 494.46 , 1 430.79, both P <0.05). After controlling for confounding variables like residence area, sex, and age, multilevel Logistic regression analysis revealed that non compliance with desk-chair fit standards ( OR=1.47, 95%CI = 1.22-1.78), blackboard reflectance ( OR=1.18, 95%CI =1.06-1.33), and blackboard size ( OR =1.37, 95% CI =1.21-1.55) increased the risk of spinal curvature abnormalities among primary and secondary school students (all P <0.01). Conclusions There are population based differences in spinal curvature abnormalities among primary and secondary school students in Henan Province. The occurrence is strongly correlated with elements of the teaching environment. It is necessary to put in place comprehensive preventative and control strategies that focus on pertinent environmental elements.

Prostate cancer is a prevalent malignant tumor of the male genitourinary system in China, with a persistently elevated incidence rate.Given the insidious onset, propensity for metastasis in advanced stages, and poor efficacy of traditional treatments, new hormone therapies have garnered increasing attention in recent years.A number of clinical studies have demonstrated that second-generation androgen receptor inhibitors (SGARIs), including enzalutamide, apalutamide, darolutamide, and rezvilutamide, can be beneficial in different stages of advanced prostate cancer.Furthermore, their early application has been shown to delay disease progression while maintaining a controlled safety profile.At present, SGARIs have increasingly become the primary therapeutic agents for advanced prostate cancer in various stages.This article reviews the clinical research progress of SGARIs in recent years, with the aim of offering valuable clinical reference for clinicians.

ObjectiveTo analyze the changes in infectious disease reporting timeliness before and after the implementation of the National Infectious Disease Intelligent Surveillance and Early Warning Pre-position Software (hereinafter referred to as “the pre-position software”) at Baoding Maternal and Child Health Hospital, and to evaluate its effectiveness in shortening reporting time and improving reporting timeliness. MethodsCase data of infectious diseases submitted by Baoding Maternal and Child Health Hospital to the National Disease Prevention and Control System during January to July 2024 (pre-implementation) and January to July 2025 (post-implementation) were selected. Overall differences in reporting timeliness between the two periods were compared, and stratified comparative analyses were performed by month, weekdays versus weekends/holidays, disease type, and population characteristics. ResultsBefore and after the implementation of the pre-position software, the hospital reported 623 and 587 infectious disease cases, respectively. Among the total 1 210 cases, 49.26% (596/1 210) had a reporting timeliness of <10 h. The highest number of reported cases fell into the 1 to <5 h range, accounting for 31.24% (378/1 210). There was a statistically significant difference in the composition of reported cases by reporting timeliness for infectious diseases in the hospital before and after the use of the pre-position software (χ²=27.38, P<0.001). Compared with January to July 2024, the median reporting timeliness in January to July 2025 was shortened by 3.77 h, and the difference was statistically significant (Z=-3.50, P<0.001). In April (the fourth month after implementation), the median reporting timeliness was shortened by 9.00 h (Z=-3.17, P=0.002). On non-working days (Saturdays and Sundays), it was shortened by 7.64 h (Z=-5.69, P<0.001), and on public holidays, it was shortened by 7.21 h (Z=-3.71, P<0.001). For class C infectious diseases, the median time was shortened by 3.49 h (Z=-3.05, P=0.002). For scattered children, it was shortened by 4.95 h (Z=-3.78, P<0.001). All differences were statistically significant. ConclusionAfter the implementation of the pre-position software, the reporting timeliness for infectious diseases at Baoding Maternal and Child Health Hospital is shortened, with particularly notable reductions observed in April, on non-working days, for Class C infectious diseases, and for scattered children, indicating the reporting timeliness is improved. This study provides empirical references for the promotion and application of this software in medical institutions.

Tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT) is a rare mesenchymal tumor that clinically presents as nodular-type or diffuse-type (D-TGCT). D-TGCT is more aggressive, has a higher surgical recurrence rate, and can potentially lead to severe joint destruction. The traditional treatment is primarily through surgical intervention. Recent advancements in understanding the molecular mechanisms of the disease and the development of new drugs have significantly changed TGCT treatment strategies. Drug therapy and active surveillance have become important treatment options for unresectable or high-recurrence-risk TGCT. Imaging examinations and patient-reported outcome tools play a crucial role in evaluating efficacy and guiding treatment decisions. Comprehensive management by a multidisciplinary team and utilizing individualized treatment plans can significantly improve the quality of life and treatment outcomes of patients. Future research should explore the molecular mechanisms of TGCT, enhance multidisciplinary collaboration, and emphasize long-term management to improve treatment efficacy and patient prognosis.
