Objective:To explore the application effects of a four-in-one blended teaching model integrating artificial intelligence, virtual reality, 3D printing, and case-based learning (CBL) in the clinical teaching of spinal tumors. Methods:We divided 89 students on training in the Department of Orthopedics of Peking University Third Hospital from September 2022 to August 2024 into control group ( n=47) and experimental group ( n=42). The control group adopted traditional teaching, and the experimental group adopted the four-in-one teaching model. At the end of clinical teaching, an artificial intelligence test and a questionnaire survey were administered to the students to evaluate the teaching effects. The two groups were compared using the independent samples t-test with the use of SPSS 27.0. Results:The experimental group was superior to the control group with significant improvements in the answer accuracy rate (66.67%, χ2=9.44, P=0.002), learning interest [(4.50±0.63), t=2.75, P=0.007], theoretical knowledge mastery [(4.64±0.69), t=7.74, P<0.001], clinical thinking [(4.48±0.71), t=9.08, P<0.001], practical skills [(4.13±0.89), t=2.69, P=0.009], scientific research innovation [(4.71±0.59), t=9.28, P<0.001], teacher-student interaction [(4.74±0.54), t=12.76, P<0.001], and classroom attention [(4.69±0.52), t=12.64, P<0.001]. At the same time, the students in the experimental group put forward numerous constructive feedback. Conclusions:The four-in-one blended teaching model combining artificial intelligence, virtual reality, 3D printing, and CBL can help undergraduate medical students better recognize and diagnose spinal tumors with a correct clinical thinking path, achieving good teaching effects.

Ferroptosis is a cell death pattern associated with the regulation of the Nrf2/GPX4 signaling pathway.Activating the Nrf2/GPX4 signaling pathway can regulate the expression of genes and proteins related to oxidative stress, alleviate stress damage, and inhibit cell ferroptosis. At present, research on the intervention of traditional Chinese medicine in ferroptosis has made certain progress.Through literature research,it can be found that some traditional Chinese medicine active monomers can activate the Nrf2/GPX4 signaling pathway to inhibit ferrop-tosis,play a protective role in tissues and organs, and have ther-apeutic potential in various diseases. Some traditional Chinese medicine active monomers exhibit characteristics of multi organ protective effects and bidirectional regulation. This article discus-ses the relevant research on the inhibition of ferroptosis by acti-vating the Nrf2/GPX4 signaling pathway with traditional Chinese medicine active monomers, and proposes suggestions to provide reference and ideas for further basic and applied research.

Objective:To compare the therapeutic efficacy and safety of local anesthesia and spinal anesthesia for the patients with varicocele(VC)who underwent microsurgical varicocelectomy(MV).Methods:We retrospectively analyzed the data of VC patients who underwent MV treatment at the Andrology Department of the Affiliated Ruikang Hospital of Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine from May 2020 to March 2023.Cases with complete clinical data and follow-up evaluation were selected and divided into a control group(spinal anesthesia)and an observation group(local anesthesia)according to different anesthesia methods. The surgical time(including anesthesia time),visual analogue scale(VAS)score for pain, hospital stay, treatment cost, sperm concentration,for-ward motile sperm rate, and normal sperm morphology rate after three months of surgery,as well as postoperative complications and re-currence rate were compared between the two groups. Results:A total of 107 eligible cases were included, with 56 cases in the con-trol group and 51 cases in the observation group. There was no significant difference in the VAS score for pain during and after four hours of surgery,as well as postoperative complications, and recurrence rate between the two groups(P>0.05).There was an signif-icant increase in sperm concentration, forward motile sperm rate, and normal sperm morphology rate in both of two groups after three months of surgery(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference between the two groups three months after surgery(P>0.05).The surgical time and hospital stay were shorter than those of the control group(P<0.05).And the treatment cost in observa-tion group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Both local anesthesia and lumbar anesthesia for MV treatment of VC have good efficacy and safety. However, patients treated with MV under local anesthesia for VC have obvious advanta-ges in terms of operation time(including anesthesia time),hospital stay, and treatment cost, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.

Objective:To observe the influence of trigeminal rod therapy on the stone expulsion effect after extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy(ESWL)in patients with ureteral calculi. Methods:The clinical data of patients with ureteral calculi admitted to Weifang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from May 2022 to August 2024 were retrospectively analyzed.Among them,50 patients who received ESWL ESWL combined with trigeminal rod therapy were the observation group, and 50 patients who received ESWL single treatment were randomly selected as the case control group according to the ratio of 1:1.The clinical efficacy, stone expulsion time, usage rate of analgesic drugs, incidence of renal colic and pain degree of the two groups were compared. Results:Compared with control group, the total clinical effective rate in the observation group was higher, the incidence of renal colic and usage rate of analgesic drugs were lower, and the stone expulsion time was shorter(P<0.05).Compared with control group at 1 d,3 d and 7 d after treatment, the visual analogue scale(VAS)in the observation group was lower(P<0.05).Conclusion:Trigeminal rod therapy can increase the total clinical effective rate after ESWL in patients with ureteral calculi, shorten the stone excretion time, reduce usage rate of analgesic drug and the risk of renal colic, and alleviate pain.

Objective:To analyze the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of upper urinary tract calculi patients combined with mild and moderate benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)after ureteral stent implantation. Methods:One hundred and six BPH pa-tients who were hospitalized for upper urinary tract calculi and had ureteral stents retained from January 2019 to December 2022 were selected and divided into 2 weeks group and 4 weeks group according to the time of removal of ureteral stents after surgery.Their gener-al clinical data were analyzed and compared.International Prostatic Symptom Scale(IPSS),postoperative ureteral Stent Symptom Questionnaire(USSQ),and incidence of adverse events after ureteral stent removal were recorded before and after removal. Results:The scores of IPSS were significantly increased in all patients, and symptoms in urinary tract had improved significantly after discharge(P<0.05).Compared with the 2 weeks group, the USSQ score of the 4 weeks group was significantly increased(P<0.05).And no significant adverse event was observed in the 2 weeks group after the removal of ureteral sten. Conclusion:IPSS score and USSQ score increased significantly during stent implantation in BPH patients with lithiasis. And complications increased sig-nificantly over time.Following thorough clinical assessment, early ureteral stent removal demonstrates both safety and efficacy,repre-senting an optimal therapeutic approach in selected cases.
