1.Development status for cryopreservation and transplantation of human ovarian tissue

The cancer patients may experience ovarian dysfunction and lose their fertility after radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Therefore, the oncologists face problems of how to protect reproductive function and improve their life quality of young female patients. Ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation (OTCT) could restore the female reproductive endocrine and is one of the main methods for fertility preservation. This method provides a new way for patients who are not suitable for fertility preservation by oocyte cryopreservation and embryo cryopreservation. In recent years, there are many heathy births by OTCT. But, this method also has deficiencies, such as ischemic atresia after transplantation before rebuilding blood supply and risk of reintroducing the malignant cells after retransplantation. This paper reviews the development of OTCT.
