AIM: To evaluate the visual function and optical quality in adults aged 80y and older following the bilateral implantation of zonal refractive multifocal intraocular lens(IOL, LS-313 MF30).METHODS: A single-center, non-randomized, prospective clinical trial was conducted, involving cataract patients aged 80 y and older. Patients received bilateral implantation of the LS-313 MF30 or CT Asphina 409MP, based on personal preference. Postoperative assessments included uncorrected and corrected visual acuity at distance, intermediate, and near ranges, as well as defocus curve. Subjective evaluations were performed using the visual function(VF-14)questionnaire, spectacle independence rates, and patient satisfaction surveys. Photic phenomena such as glare, halos, and starbursts were also analyzed.RESULTS: The MF30 group(16 eyes from 8 participants, 85.38±2.56 y)exhibited superior uncorrected and corrected intermediate and near visual acuity compared to the 409MP group(26 eyes from 13 participants, 85.77±2.20 y), while distance visual acuity was comparable between groups. The defocus curve of the MF30 group revealed two peaks at 0.00 D and -3.00 D, indicating a broader depth of focus. Patients in the MF30 group reported higher rates of spectacle independence and greater satisfaction. While photic phenomena such as glare(28.6% vs 18.5%, P=0.584), starburst(9.5% vs 3.7%, P=0.567)and halos(23.8% vs 11.11%, P=0.438)were more prevalent in the MF30 group, they were generally mild and did not significantly impact daily activities.CONCLUSION: Zonal refractive multifocal IOLs provide elderly patients with improved distance and near vision, greater spectacle independence, and greater satisfaction. Although photic phenomena were slightly more frequent with MF30, they are generally reported as non-disruptive and do not affect their daily life compared to monofocal IOLs.

Objective To investigate the relationship of anxiety and depression mood with cognitive function in elderly patients with Parkinson's disease. Methods A total of 511 elderly Parkinson's disease patients who visited the 907th Hospital of the Joint Logistics Support Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army from October 2024 to November 2025 were selected as the study subjects. The patients were divided into a cognitive impairment group (n=98) and a non-cognitive impairment group (n=413) based on the presence of cognitive impairment. The patient related data were collected. Disease severity was assessed using the modified Hoehn-Yahr (H-Y) staging scale, anxiety levels were evaluated with the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), depressive symptoms were measured using the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS), and cognitive function was assessed with the Mini-Mental State Examination. Logistic regression analysis was performed to identify risk factors for cognitive impairment in elderly Parkinson's patients, and Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between anxiety/depression and cognitive function. Results Educational level (OR=5.348, 95% CI: 2.278-10.482), marital status (OR=6.056, 95% CI: 2.932-12.508), H-Y stage (OR=2.189, 95% CI: 1.433-3.345), BAI score (OR=1.270, 95% CI: 1.188-1.358), and GDS score (OR=1.340, 95% CI: 1.236-1.453) were all risk factors for cognitive impairment in elderly Parkinson's patients (P<0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that both BAI score and GDS score were negatively correlated with cognitive function (r=-0.383 and -0.400, respectively, P<0.001). Conclusion Educational level, marital status, H-Y stage, BAI score, and GDS score are all influencing factors for cognitive impairment in elderly Parkinson's disease patients, with both BAI scores and GDS scores being negatively correlated with cognitive function.

Background::Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is characterized by excessive proliferation of small pulmonary arterial vascular smooth muscle cells (PASMCs), endothelial dysfunction, and extracellular matrix remodeling. G protein-coupled receptor kinase 2 (GRK2) plays an important role in the maintenance of vascular tone and blood flow. However, the role of GRK2 in the pathogenesis of PAH is unknown.Methods::GRK2 levels were detected in lung tissues from healthy people and PAH patients. C57BL/6 mice, vascular smooth muscle cell-specific Grk2-knockout mice ( Grk2?SM22), and littermate controls ( Grk2flox/flox) were grouped into control and hypoxia mice ( n = 8). Pulmonary hypertension (PH) was induced by exposure to chronic hypoxia (10%) combined with injection of the SU5416 (cHx/SU). The expression levels of GRK2 and Yes-associated protein (YAP) in pulmonary arteries and PASMCs were detected by Western blotting and immunofluorescence staining. The mRNA expression levels of Grk2 and Yes-associated protein ( YAP) in PASMCs were quantified with real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Wound-healing assay, 3-(4,5)-dimethylthiahiazo (-z-y1)-3,5-di-phenytetrazoliumromide (MTT) assay, and 5-Ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridine (EdU) staining were performed to evaluate the proliferation and migration of PASMCs. Meanwhile, the interaction among proteins was detected by immunoprecipitation assays. Results::The expression levels of GRK2 were upregulated in the pulmonary arteries of patients with PAH and the lungs of PH mice. Moreover, cHx/SU-induced PH was attenuated in Grk2?SM22 mice compared with littermate controls. The amelioration of PH in Grk2?SM22 mice was accompanied by reduced pulmonary vascular remodeling. In vitro study further confirmed that GRK2 knock-down significantly altered hypoxia-induced PASMCs proliferation and migration, whereas this effect was severely intensified by overexpression of GRK2. We also identified that GRK2 promoted YAP expression and nuclear translocation in PASMCs, resulting in excessive PASMCs proliferation and migration. Furthermore, GRK2 is stabilized by inhibiting phosphorylating GRK2 on Tyr86 and subsequently activating ubiquitylation under hypoxic conditions. Conclusion::Our findings suggest that GRK2 plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of PAH, via regulating YAP expression and nuclear translocation. Therefore, GRK2 serves as a novel therapeutic target for PAH treatment.

The prevalent strain in the pig farm was identified as a NADC30-like strain of the PRRSV through genetic sequencing comparison analysis. Results: The quantitative real-time reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction results showed that the PRRSV cycle threshold (Ct) values of the processing fluid samples were relatively low from September to early October 2021. After implementing the intervention measures (October 2021), the Ct value increased gradually and reached a negative in March 2022, lasting six months. In addition, the average survival rate of the pigs before the intervention was 84.1%, while the average survival rate after the intervention was 93.1%. Conclusions and Relevance: The use of 12-month intervals for pig herd closure, drug planning, and other strategic management agreements (multi-point production and active monitoring of production data, McREBEL) helped stabilize the subsequent pig farm production, providing a basis for clinical disease prevention and control.

【Objective】 To explore the expression and clinical significance of prostate cancer tissue-specific lncRNAs. 【Methods】 The gene differences of 492 prostate cancer tissues and 152 adjacent tissues in TCGA and GEO genomic databases were analyzed with bioinformatics methods. A total of 5 lncRNAs were screened out, and their specificity in prostate tissues and impact on the prognosis of patients were analyzed. 【Results】 The 5 lncRNAs included PCAT14, PCA3, CTBP1-AS, DRAIC, and GPC5-AS1. PCAT14 and PCA3 were specifically expressed in prostate cancer tissues, and elevated expression was related to the prognosis. Moreover, they were well correlated with prostate cancer-specific antigens such as KLK3, AMACR, SLC45A3, and so on. GO function enrichment analysis and KEGG pathway enrichment analysis showed that the differential expression of PCA3 was closely related to phagocytosis, cell recognition, defense response to bacteria, immunoglobulin complex, Golgi apparatus, antigen binding, chemokine receptor binding, white matter digestion and absorption, renin-angiotensin system and other signaling pathways, while the differential expression of PCAT14 was closely related to the activity of Golgi apparatus and ion channels, renin secretion, cAMP signaling pathway, and gonadotropin secretion-related signaling pathway. 【Conclusion】 PCA3 and PCAT14 are specifically expressed in prostate cancer tissues, not in normal tissues, which can be used as potential indicators for the diagnosis of prostate cancer.

Objective:To analyze the influential factors of hypothermia in congenital heart disease (CHD) after cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) rewarming using the decision tree model, thus providing theoretical basis for medical staff.Methods:A total of 711 CHD children who underwent surgery in the Shanghai Children′s Medical Center from January 1, 2019 to April 30, 2019 were retrospectively analyzed.A decision tree model was established to predict the risk factors for hypothermia in CHD children following CPB.Results:The decision tree model showed that CPB program, preoperative nutrition score and body surface area were the high-risk factors for hypothermia in CHD children after CPB rewarming.The accuracy, sensitivity, specificity of the decision tree model were 86.45%, 77.14% and 90.97%, respectively, and the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.851(95% CI: 0.798-0.904). Conclusions:Decision tree model has a high application value in predicting hypothermia in CHD children following CPB.It contributes to identify the influential factors of hypothermia, and provides references for performing preventive treatment and nursing measures to control the risk of hypothermia.
