BackgroundThe violent aggressive behaviors of patients with schizophrenia usually have the characteristics of suddenness, unpredictability, high severity, and great difficulty in prevention. Early identification and accurate assessment of their risk of violent aggression have significant clinical significance. ObjectiveTo construct a predictive model for the violence risk in hospitalized patients with schizophrenia, to identify the key factors influencing the occurrence of violent behavior in these patients, so as to provide references for clinical precise quantitative assessment and early intervention. MethodsA total of 200 patients with schizophrenia who were hospitalized at Taiyuan Psychiatric Hospital from March 2022 to September 2024 and met the diagnostic criteria of the International Classification of Diseases, eleventh edition (ICD-11) were collected to form the modeling cohort. They were randomly divided into a training set (n=140) and a test set (n=60) at a ratio of 7∶3. Based on the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression algorithm, the feature variables were screened and dimension-reduced. The support vector machine (SVM) from machine learning was selected for model training and prediction. The discrimination efficacy of the model was evaluated by the area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC), accuracy, precision, sensitivity, specificity, F1 value, and Brier value. ResultsLASSO regression screening identified 16 feature variables. Pearson correlation analysis revealed a positive correlation between prior violent behavior frequency and clinical psychiatric symptom scores (r=0.580, P<0.01), a positive correlation between hospitalization compliance and current disease status (r=0.550, P=0.003), and a positive correlation between educational level and family per capita monthly income (r=0.367, P<0.01). The SVM model achieved an AUC of 0.853, accuracy of 0.800, precision of 0.810, sensitivity of 0.895, specificity of 0.636, F1 value of 0.850, and Brier value of 0.168. ConclusionThe SVM model has a relatively high level of applicability and overall predictive performance in the assessment of violent risk in schizophrenia patients, which is helpful for the early identification of violent risks in such patients. Journal of Environmental and Occupational Medicine 2026;43(1):58-64
Background As a traditional labor-intensive industry, the wooden furniture manufacturing sector has been facing significant occupational health hazards, notably noise exposure. Objective To understand the current status of occupational health management and workplace noise monitoring in the wooden furniture manufacturing industry in Foshan City of Guangzhou Province over the past five years (2020−2024), to clarify the exposure level of occupational noise hazards in this industry, the implementation of prevention and control measures, and their dynamic changing trends, and to provid a reference basis for formulating and optimizing targeted occupational health supervision strategies. Methods By judgment sampling method, 381 wooden furniture manufacturing enterprises in Foshan City from 2020 to 2024 were selected. Through document review, on-site investigation, and on-site testing, the basic information of the enterprise, key indicators of occupational health management (declaration of projects with occupational disease hazards, occupational health training, the setting and effect of occupational disease prevention facilities, the allocation and use of personal protective equipment, occupational health examinations, etc.) and monitoring data of noise intensity in the workplace were systematically collected. Descriptive statistical analysis was adopted to present the characteristics of enterprises and various indicators, and trend tests were used for dynamic changes of occupational health management indicators and noise intensity monitoring results between each year. Results Among the 381 enterprises, small and micro enterprises accounted for 94.0% (358/381), the overall occupational hazard exposure rate of workers was 56.7% (15199/26798), and the noise exposure rate was 45.6% (12221/26798). The report rate of projects with occupational disease hazards was 100%, the occupational health training rate of exposed workers was 69.6%, the setting rate and effectiveness rate of noise prevention facilities were 24.9% and 95.8% respectively, the distribution rate and effective wearing rate of noise protection earplugs/earmuffs were 77.6% and 87.1% respectively, and the rate of occupational health examinations for noise-exposed workers and the abnormal rate were 55.4% and 2.5% respectively. The trend analysis results showed that the rates of occupational health training, setting and effectiveness of noise prevention facilities, distribution and effective wearing of noise protection earplugs/earmuffs, occupational health examinations for noise-exposed workers, and abnormal health examination results all showed an overall upward trend (P values were all<0.05). The proportion of workplace noise intensity greater than 85 dB(A) and the rate of noise exceeding standards at work positions both showed an overall upward trend (P values were both<0.01). Conclusion During the period from 2020 to 2024, the occupational health management in the wooden furniture manufacturing industry in Foshan City has achieved certain positive progress, particularly in areas such as the installation of protective facilities, the use of personal protective equipment, and the implementation of occupational health examinations. However, workplace noise hazards have not been effectively controlled. Moving forward, regulatory efforts must consolidate existing management achievements while strengthening mandatory requirements and support for the technical transformation of high-noise processes and the widespread adoption of noise reduction facilities. This approach is essential to fundamentally curb occupational noise hazards.

Journal of Prevention and Treatment for Stomatological Diseases 2026;34(7):688-695
Objective:
To analyze the clinical characteristics and management strategies of metronidazole-associated Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), and to provide a clinical basis for medication safety during the oral perioperative period.
Methods:
The study adhered to the tenets of the Declaration of Helsinki and was approved by the Ethics Committee of Stomatological Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University. A retrospective analysis was conducted on a case of SJS following mandibular impacted tooth extraction, for which the patient had taken metronidazole. Additionally, a literature review was performed by searching databases including China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, PubMed, and Web of Science to identify reported cases of metronidazole-associated SJS. Demographic features, medication regimens, latency periods, clinical signs, interventions, and prognosis were analyzed.
Results:
The patient presented with lip swelling, extensive erosion and ulceration of the oral mucosa, and severe odynophagia. Scattered erythematous macules and bullae were observed on the trunk and extremities, with a positive Nikolsky sign. Additionally, there was erosion of the perineal skin and glans penis mucosa, along with skin desquamation of the scrotum. The patient with SJS was managed in the hospital by discontinuing metronidazole and administering sequential treatments, including glucocorticoids, immunomodulators, intravenous immunoglobulin, and plasma exchange. The condition gradually improved; after a 14-month follow-up, only mild dry eye remained, with no significant scarring of the skin or mucosa. However, delayed recognition of early warning signs resulted in delayed drug withdrawal and intervention. The literature review identified 6 additional cases (3 males, 3 females) with a median age of 45.5 years (range 31-61). Indications for metronidazole included postoperative sepsis prophylaxis after duodenal ulcer perforation repair, digestive system infections, mucosal diseases, pelvic inflammatory disease, septic cellulitis with pneumonia, and gingivitis. Administration routes comprised oral (n = 2), intravenous (n = 3), and topical (n = 1). The latency period from drug administration to onset ranged from 0.25 to 7 days (median 4 days). All of the cases presented with oral mucosal erosion, and a positive Nikolsky’s sign was noted for five patients. Discontinuation of the causative drug was the cornerstone of treatment, supplemented by immunomodulatory therapy, symptomatic support, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Prognoses varied significantly: among the four patients treated with “drug withdrawal + glucocorticoids + supportive care,” three recovered fully and one improved; among the two patients receiving “drug withdrawal + simple supportive care,” one recovered and one died
Conclusion
Although metronidazole-associated SJS is rare, it progresses rapidly and frequently involves oral mucosal damage, typically occurring within one week of administering the medication. Early drug withdrawal and prompt initiation of glucocorticoid therapy can improve prognosis. During the oral perioperative period, strict adherence to metronidazole indications, enhanced monitoring for early warning symptoms, and the establishment of a multidisciplinary collaborative diagnosis and treatment model are essential to minimize the risk of severe adverse drug reactions.

Based on commonly used acupoints in the clinical acupuncture treatment of functional dyspepsia (FD), this study systematically analyzes the therapeutic differences and synergistic effects between local and distal point selection. It also examines the suitability of primary acupoint selection for different FD subtypes, postprandial distress syndrome (PDS) and epigastric pain syndrome (EPS). The findings suggest that a combination of local and distal acupoints may be more appropriate as primary points for PDS, whereas local acupoints alone may be more suitable for EPS. Additionally, the study explores the impact of various factors, such as stimulation techniques, needling order, intensity or stimulation parameters, and depth, on the efficacy of acupuncture. It concludes that the intrinsic properties of acupoints are the primary determinants of therapeutic direction. Other factors mainly influence the magnitude rather than the direction of the effect. Future research may further investigate how different acupoint combinations, local versus distal, affect the treatment outcomes of FD subtypes, providing new insights for clinical acupuncture prescriptions.

JOURNAL OF RARE DISEASES 2025;4(4):419-425
Ovarian immature teratoma is a relatively rare malignant ovarian tumor that predominantly occurs in children, adolescents, and young adults. In clinical diagnosis and treatment, tumor marker detection and imaging examinations serve as crucial bases for differentiating mature and immature terotomas. A comprehensive preoperative evaluation followed by the selection of an appropriate surgical approach and extent is key to improving prognosis. Some studies have indicated that for stage Ⅰ ovarian immature teratoma, avoiding adjuvant chemotherapy under close follow-up does not increase the risk of recurrence or affect long-term survival of patients; however, for advanced-stage ovarian immature teratoma, standardized postoperative chemotherapy is still recommended. Some patients may experience benign-malignant transformation of malignant germ cell components after surgery, such as growing teratoma syndrome or squamous cell carcinoma transformation. Due to the rarity of ovarian immature teratoma, current understanding of its pathogenesis and clinical management remains limited. This paper provides a review focusing on key clinical issues related to ovarian immature teratoma and proposes corresponding diagnostic and therapeutic recommendations, aiming to offer references for promoting multidisciplinary collaboration and individualized treatment.
