ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical characteristics of a child with Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome (KTS) complicated by lower gastrointestinal bleeding, for better understanding of this rare condition. MethodsA retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of a pediatric KTS case with lower gastrointestinal bleeding admitted to the Department of Gastroenterology of the Affiliated Women and Children's Medical Center of Guangzhou Medical University in October 2024. Using "Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome" "KTS" "Gastrointestinal Bleeding" as keywords, we searched for relevant literature in the Wanfang Chinese Database and PubMed database up to March 2025 in our analysis. ResultsThe 8‑year‑old boy was admitted with a 4‑year history of hematochezia that had worsened over the previous two weeks. He had been previously diagnosed with KTS in outpatient consultation for lower limb asymmetry. Gastrointestinal endoscopy revealed diffuse, tortuous, bluish‑purple vessels in the mucosa from the sigmoid colon to the distal rectum. Oral polyethylene glycol and thalidomide significantly improved his hematochezia during follow‑up. ConclusionKTS often involves multiple systems in children, requiring multidisciplinary collaboration. Comprehensive diagnostic procedures such as gastrointestinal endoscopy are essential for formulating individualized treatment plans. Thalidomide may play an active role in managing vascular malformations in the intestine, offering a promising therapeutic approach.

Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of Ku70 in nasopha ryngeal oarcinoma(NPC).Methods The expression of Ku70 protein in 223 specimens of nasopharyngeal carcinoma was examined by immunohistochemistry.Based on the levels of ku70 immunoreactivities, the 223 specimens were divided into high Ku70 expression group and low Ku70 expression group. The correlation of Ku70 expression with clinicopathologic features and prognosis of NPC was analyzed according to the clinical data. Results The rate of high Ku70 expression was 63.7%.Univariate survival analysis suggested that the overall survival rate was significantly lower in high KuTO expression group than in low Ku70 expression group (X2 = 7.88,P = 0.005).Cox multivariate analysis indicated that T stage,N stage and M stage were the independent prognostic predictors (X2 = 8.02,7.22,36.86;P =0.005,0.007,0.000),but not with gender, age or pathological type(X2 = 0.08 ,1.04,2.34;P = 0.780,0.308,0.126),the influence of Ku70 on the o verall survival rate was close to critical value(P = 0.085).Conclusions Ku70 is positively expressed in the majority of NPC.KuT0 expression has significant correlations with T stage and N stage. The results of our study suggest that Ku70 is a valuable prognostic factor of NPC.

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of selective arterial infusion chemotherapy and embolization for rectal carcinoma. Methods Seldinger technique was used to insertsuperselectively catheter for 30 patients primary rectal carcinoma.Gelation embolization was done after infusionchemotherapy; All patients underwent operation in 7 day after chemoterapy and embolization. Results The clinical symptoms were obviously improved in all patients,25 in 30 patients were completely excised and the hemorrhage was obviously reduced. Conclusion The superselective arterial infusion chemotherapy and embolization may improve the clinical symptom and increase the resection rate in rectal carcinoma.

Objective:To evaluate the value of the preoperative T staging of laryngeal and hypopharyngeal cancers by MRI at high field strength(1.5T).Methods:The MRI data of 36 cases of primary laryngeal or hypopharyngeal cancers were retrospectively staged, and compared with the clinical and postsurgical pathologic staging. Results:The accuracy of staging in each T stage of laryngeal and hypopharyngeal cancers was:T1:92%;T2:86%;T386%;T4:100% by MRI vs.T1:100%;T286%;T3:57%;T4:22% by clinic/laryngoscope.The total accuracy of MRI and clinic/laryngoscope respectively was 92% vs 69%.P<0.05.Conclusion:MRI can correctly depict the original tumors site and invasion extension of laryngeal and hypopharyngeal cancers by comparing T1WI and T2WI with multiplanar, consequently improve the accuracy for staging significantly.

AIM: To investigate the relationship between expression of Bmi-1(B cell-specific MLV integration site-1) in gastric cancer and its clinicopathologic significance.METHODS: 146 surgical patients with gastric carcinoma were followed up at least 2 years.Expression of Bmi-1 protein was examined by immunohistochemistry in their archival paraffin embedded tissue specimens.RESULTS: The intensive positive rate of Bmi-1 expression in gastric cancer was 67.8%(99/146).Expression of Bmi-1 was highly correlated with tumor size, clinical stage, lymph node metastasis and T classification(P0.05).The survival rate in the patients with Bmi-1 expression was much lower than that in those patients without Bmi-1 expression(P
