Cancer immunotherapy has emerged as a promising strategy. However, low response rates and immune-related side effects have plagued immunotherapy. Metallic nanoparticles, utilizing metals as their framework, are gaining prominence in cancer immunotherapy. Metal ions have shown the ability to modulate immune status by activating the cGAS-STING pathway and inducing immunogenic cell death (ICD), thereby enabling multidimensional activation of immunotherapy. Metallic nanoparticles offer significant advantages in cancer immunotherapy, leading to their increasing use in enhancing therapeutic outcomes. In view of the ever-increasing research on metallic nanoparticles, this review presents the construction, characterization, and enhanced cancer immunotherapeutic effects of different types of metal nanosystems from the perspective of the immunoregulatory mechanisms of metal ions. We delve into the current limitations and future directions of metallic nanoparticles in this rapidly evolving field. To the best of our knowledge, this review offers the most up-to-date and systematic analysis of metallic nanoparticles in immunotherapeutic applications. It is anticipated that this review of metallic nanoparticles will inspire a more refined and intelligent design of metallic nanoparticles for future research, paving the way for advancing their clinical applications.

ObjectiveTo investigate the protective effect of Xielitang on dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced ulcerative colitis (UC) mice and its possible mechanism. MethodsDSS was used to establish UC model. Sixty mice were randomly divided into a normal group, a model group, a sulfasalazine group (0.6 g·kg-1), and low-, medium-, and high-dose Xielitang groups (1.67, 3.34, 6.68 g·kg-1). After treatment for 42 d, the colon length was recorded, and the disease activity index (DAI) score was calculated. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect the serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and interleukin-10 (IL-10). Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining was used to observe the pathomorphological changes of colon. Western blot was used to detect the protein expression of farnesoid X receptor (FXR), small heterodimer partner (SHP), liver receptor homolog-1 (LRH-1), cholesterol 7α-hydroxylase (CYP7A1), and fibroblast growth factor receptor 4 (FGFR4) in liver and FXR, sodium-dependent bile acid transporter (ASBT), and fibroblast growth factor 15 (FGF15) in ileum. 16S rRNA sequencing was used to analyze the intestinal flora. Moreover, ultra-high performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry was used to detect the bile acid content. ResultsCompared with the normal group, the model group showed significantly decreased colon length, IL-10 content, α-diversity index, abundance of Firmicutes and Lactobacillus, and content of deoxycholic acid (DCA) and lithocholic acid (LCA) (P<0.01), significantly increased DAI score, IL-6 and TNF-α content, abundance of Bacteroidetes, and the content of cholic acid (CA), chenodeoxycholic acid (CDCA), and taurocholic acid (TCA) (P<0.05, P<0.01), significantly down-regulated protein expression of FXR, SHP, and FGFR4 in liver and FXR, ASBT, and FGF15 in ileum (P<0.01), and significantly up-regulated protein expression of LRH-1 and CYP7A1 in liver (P<0.01). In addition, the structure of colonic mucosa was destroyed, and inflammatory cells infiltrated in the model group. Compared with the model group, Xielitang could significantly increase the colon length, IL-10 content, α-diversity index, the abundance of Firmicutes and Lactobacillus, and DCA and LCA content (P<0.05, P<0.01), decrease DAI score, abundance of Bacteroidetes, and the content of IL-6, TNF-α, CA, CDCA, and TCA (P<0.01), up-regulate the protein expression of FXR, SHP, and FGFR4 in liver and FXR, ASBT, and FGF15 in ileum (P<0.01), and down-regulate the protein expression of LRH-1 and CYP7A1 in liver (P<0.01). The pathological damage of colonic mucosa was obviously alleviated. ConclusionXielitang protects against UC probably by regulating the "intestinal microbiota-bile acid" axis, regulating intestinal flora imbalance, and maintaining bile acid homeostasis.

To explore the feasibility of using UAV-LiDAR for measuring the leaf area index (LAI) of crop canopies, we employed UAV-LiDAR to scan sugarcane canopies during the tillering and elongation stages, acquiring canopy point cloud data. Subsequently, features such as average row height, projected row area, point cloud density at different canopy layers, and the ratios between these parameters were extracted. Three feature selection methods-partial least squares regression (PLSR), XGBoost feature importance (XGBoost-FI), and random forest-recursive feature elimination (RF-RFE)-were adopted to evaluate and identify the optimal input variables for modeling. With these selected variables, LAI inversion models were developed based on random forest (RF) and adaptive boosting (AdaBoost) algorithms, and their performance was assessed. Among the extracted features, the projected row area Sp and the total row point count Ctotal exhibited strong correlations with LAI, with correlation coefficients of 0.73 and 0.72, respectively. The AdaBoost-based LAI inversion model, using the projected row area Sp, average height Havg, mid-layer point cloud density Cm, and total row point count Ctotal as input variables, achieved the best performance, with a coefficient of determination (Rv²) of 0.713 and a root mean square error (RMSEv) of 0.25 on the validation set. This study provides an effective method for high-throughput acquisition of LAI in field crops, offering valuable scientific support for sugarcane field management and breeding efforts.

Journal of Capital Medical University 2025;46(4):589-593
Progesterone receptor membrane component 1(PGRMC1)is closely related to hormone therapy which belongs to the membrane-associated progesterone receptor(MAPR)family.A large number of in vitro experiments,in vivo animal experiments, clinical samples of breast cancer patients and blood studies showed that all synthetic progesterone(excluding natural progesterone and dydrogesterone)can promote the rapid proliferation of breast cancer cells overexpressing PGRMC1.In patients with breast cancer,PGRMC1 is significantly negatively correlated with tumor grade and prognosis, and PGRMC1 level in blood is positively correlated with PGRMC1 expression in breast cancer tissues, and PGRMC1 is superior to traditional tumor markers such as carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA),carbohydrate antigen(CA125),and CA153 in predicting early breast cancer.Therefore,PGRMC1 may serve as a predictive marker for identifying an elevated risk of breast cancer associated with menopausal hormone replacement therapy.

Objective:To investigate the clinical application effect of the along-axis extraction method in the extraction of impacted mandibular third molars(IMTM)and to compare the biomechanical charac-teristics of different root extraction techniques through three-dimensional finite element analysis.Me-thods:A total of 68 patients requiring IMTM extraction were enrolled and randomly divided into two groups:the experimental group underwent the along-axis extraction method, while the control group un-derwent the traditional buccal bone removal and root extraction method. The duration of the procedure, intraoperative and postoperative complications were recorded.Three-dimensional finite element analysis further revealed the stress distribution in the tooth root, jawbone, periodontal ligament, and mandibular canal during different root extraction methods. Results:The duration of root extraction, pain score and swelling on the first postoperative day in the control group were(7.87±3.90)min,4.62±1.90 and(11.37±5.12)mm,respectively,which were significantly higher than those in the experimental group[(5.74±2.37)min,3.87±1.19 and(7.22±3.39)mm,respectively].The root fracture rate and lingual bone plate fracture rate in the control group were significantly higher than those in the experimen-tal group(P<0.05).The results of finite element analysis showed that the control group's lingual al-veolar bone had the higher peak equivalent stress, and lingual bone plate fracture was prone to occur. The periodontal ligament of the experimental group had the higher equivalent stress value, making it more likely to rip and more likely to cause root displacement. When subjected to force, the experimental group's instantaneous root displacement was higher, but the control group's root displacement was more pronounced in the lingual direction. Conclusion:This study suggests that the along-axis extraction me-thod can not only effectively shorten the operative time but also reduce postoperative complications after extraction of impacted mandibular third molars, and enhance the safety of the operation and the patient's comfort.Three-dimensional finite element analysis shows the biomechanical characteristics of various root extraction techniques visually, serves as a valuable guide for choosing and refining clinical surgical tech-niques,and confirms that extracting a tooth's root along its long axis yields better clinical results.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2023;44(2):181-185
Objective:
To explore changes in the social interactions of school aged children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) enrolled in ordinary schools and special education institutions during a one year observation period.
Methods:
A total of 44 children with ASD were recruited from the Research Center of Children and Adolescent Psychological and Behavioral Development in the Department of Public Health, Sun Yat sen University, during 2017 and 2018. At the baseline and follow up periods, a self report questionnaire (completed by parents) was administered in order to collect demographic information related to the children, the survey included the Social Responsiveness Scale (SRS), Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), Social Communication Questionnaire (SCQ), Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorder (SCARED) and the Swan son Nolan and Pelham, Version IV Scale(SNAP-IV).
Results:
At baseline, compared with children in ordinary schools, the total score of SRS (114.56±6.02, 93.63 ±3.82) and its subscale scores (social awareness:13.54±0.71, 11.02±0.45; social cognition:22.73±1.16, 18.19±0.73; social interaction:37.47±2.12, 30.40±1.35; autistic mannerisms: 23.11±1.70, 19.02±1.08) were higher in children attending special education institutions, as well as the SCQ total score (20.37±1.60, 12.92±1.02) and its subscale scores(social interaction domain:8.77±0.92, 4.23±0.58; social communication domain:6.07±0.55, 4.19±0.35)( P <0.05). Further comparison of baseline and follow up results showed no significant difference in time effect or in the interaction between time and the educational environment( P >0.05).
Conclusion
Compared with special education institutions, school aged children with ASD in ordinary schools had lower levels of social impairment. During the one year observation period, there was no correlation between the educational environment and changes in symptoms of children and their parents. Parents should choose an appropriate educational environment according to the children s abilities, and ordinary schools and teachers should be prepared for inclusive education.

Journal of Practical Radiology 2023;39(12):1967-1970,1979
Objective To investigate the characteristics of liver deformation and changes in abdominal vascular diameter under artificial pneumoperitoneum based on CT images, and also to reveal the impact of intestinal adhesion on these characteristics. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 61 patients who underwent abdominal CT scan and artificial pneumoperitoneum CT.Eight cases did not meet the inclusion criteria. The sample included 41 patients with postoperative intestinal adhesion(POIA)and 12 patients without POIA.A three-dimensional post-processing software was used to quantify the gas volume, liver volume, liver surface area, and lumen of the abdominal aorta, inferior vena cava, and portal vein on CT images of patients who underwent abdominal CT scan and artificial pneumoperitoneum CT.The measured indices were compared before and after artificial pneumoperitoneum in all patients, and the impact of intestinal adhesion on the aforementioned indices was evaluated. Results At equivalent levels of pneumoperitoneum pressure,no statistically significant difference was observed in the quantity of gas in the abdominal cavity between patients with and without POIA(P=0.753).In the absence of pneumoperitoneum,POIA patients exhibited a significantly higher liver volume than non-adhesion patients(P<0.01).Following the application of artificial pneumoperitoneum pressure, both liver volume and liver surface area were reduced in all patients, with a more pronounced decrease in POIA group(P=0.003,P=0.002).In addition, the reductions in the internal diameters of the inferior vena cava at three locations and the portal vein position 1 were also observed in all patients(P<0.05).Notably,the POIA group exhibited more significant decrease in the internal diameters of inferior vena cava position 1 and the portal vein position 1(P=0.022,P=0.038).No significant differences were observed in the changes of internal diameter of other blood vessels or in the intergroup comparison. Conclusion Artificial pneumoperitoneum can reduce the volum, the surface area of liver, and the inner diameter of some abdominal vessels, which provides a scientific basis for navigation and real-time correction in laparoscopic abdominal surgery for patients, especially for patients with POIA.
