Objective: To investigate the efficacy of magnesium-strontium co-doped hydroxyapatite mineralized collagen (MSHA/Col) in improving the bone repair microenvironment and enhancing bone regeneration capacity, providing a strategy to address the insufficient biomimetic composition and limited bioactivity of traditional hydroxyapatite mineralized collagen (HA/Col) scaffolds. Methods: A high-molecular-weight polyacrylic acid-stabilized amorphous calcium magnesium strontium phosphate precursor (HPAA/ACMSP) was prepared. Its morphology and elemental distribution were characterized by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy-dispersive spectroscopy. Recombinant collagen sponge blocks were immersed in the HPAA/ACMSP mineralization solution. Magnesium-strontium co-doped hydroxyapatite was induced to deposit within collagen fibers (experimental group: MSHA/Col; control group: HA/Col). The morphological characteristics of MSHA/Col were observed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Its crystal structure and chemical composition were analyzed by X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, respectively. The mineral phase content was evaluated by thermogravimetric analysis. The scaffold's porosity, ion release, and in vitro degradation performance were also determined. For cytological experiments, CCK-8 assay, live/dead cell staining, alkaline phosphatase staining, alizarin red S staining, RT-qPCR, and western blotting were used to evaluate the effects of the MSHA/Col scaffold on the proliferation, viability, early osteogenic differentiation activity, late mineralization capacity, and gene and protein expression levels of key osteogenic markers [runt-related transcription factor 2 (Runx2), collagen type Ⅰ (Col-Ⅰ), osteopontin (Opn), and osteocalcin (Ocn)] in mouse embryonic osteoblast precursor cells (MC3T3-E1). Results: HPAA/ACMSP appeared as amorphous spherical nanoparticles under TEM, with energy spectrum analysis showing uniform distribution of carbon, oxygen, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and strontium elements. SEM results of MSHA/Col indicated successful complete intrafibrillar mineralization. Elemental analysis showed the mass fractions of magnesium and strontium were 0.72% (matching the magnesium content in natural bone) and 2.89%, respectively. X-ray diffraction revealed characteristic peaks of hydroxyapatite crystals (25.86°, 31°-34°). Infrared spectroscopy results showed characteristic absorption peaks for both collagen and hydroxyapatite. Thermogravimetric analysis indicated a mineral phase content of 78.29% in the material. The scaffold porosity was 91.6% ± 1.1%, close to the level of natural bone tissue. Ion release curves demonstrated sustained release behavior for both magnesium and strontium ions. The in vitro degradation rate matched the ingrowth rate of new bone tissue. Cytological experiments showed that MSHA/Col significantly promoted MC3T3-E1 cell proliferation (130% increase in activity at 72 h, P < 0.001). MSHA/Col exhibited excellent efficacy in promoting osteogenic differentiation, significantly upregulating the expression of osteogenesis-related genes and proteins (Runx2, Col-Ⅰ, Opn, Ocn) (P < 0.01). Conclusion The MSHA/Col scaffold achieves dual biomimicry of natural bone in both composition and structure, and effectively promotes osteogenic differentiation at the genetic and protein levels, breaking through the functional limitations of pure hydroxyapatite mineralized collagen. This provides a new strategy for the development of functional bone repair materials

Objective To investigate the impact of enterovirus 71(EV71)on skeletal muscle injury and explore its mechanism in relation to the caspase-1/interleukin(IL)-1 β signaling pathway in EV71-induced skeletal muscle damage.Methods One-day-old BALB/c suckling mice were divided randomly into three groups:normal control(NC)(n=60),EV71 infection model(n=60),and caspase-1 inhibitor(EV71+VX765)(n=15)groups.The NC and EV71 model groups were further subdivided into four subgroups(5,7,10,and 14 days)(n=5 mice per group).An EV71-infected model was established by intraperitoneal injection of 25 × 103 μL/kg EV71 viral solution for 3 consecutive days.Mice in the caspase-1 inhibitor group received VX765(20 mg/kg)intraperitoneally 6 hours post-viral inoculation,continued daily for 10 days until sample collection.Mice in the NC group received an equivalent volume of saline containing 5％dimethylsulfoxide and 10％PEG300,followed by 2％cell maintenance solution after 6 hours.Post-modeling body weight and clinical disease scores were recorded.Pathological skeletal muscle damage was observed by hematoxylin-eosin(HE)staining,and expression levels of EV71 VP-1(viral capsid protein),pro-caspase-1,cleaved-caspase-1,IL-1 β,α-smooth muscle actin(SMA),and Collagen Ⅰ were detected by Western blot and immunofluorescence.Results Compared with the NC group at the same time points,mice in the EV71 model group exhibited reduced body weight,elevated disease scores,and skeletal muscle pathology characterized by inflammatory cell infiltration,myofiber dissolution,and decreased cross-sectional area(HE staining).Western blot showed significantly increased levels of EV71 VP-1,IL-1β,α-SMA,and Collagen Ⅰ in skeletal muscle homogenate from EV71 mice at 5,7,and 10 days post-infection(P＜0.001).In contrast,mice in the VX765 group showed improved body weight,reduced clinical scores(P＜0.01),and significant downregulation of EV71 VP-1(P＜0.01),pro-caspase-1,cleaved-caspase-1,IL-1β,and Collagen Ⅰ compared with the EV71 model group(P＜0.01).These findings were confirmed by immunofluorescence,indicating that inhibition of caspase-1 alleviated EV71-induced skeletal muscle injury.Conclusions EV71 may induce skeletal muscle injury by activating the caspase-1/IL-1β signaling pathway.

Objective:To investigate the clinical features and multi-slice spiral computed tomography(CT)imaging features of acute appendicitis in soldiers who have been living in plateau for a long time.Methods:The clinical features and imaging data of 56 cases of acute appendicitis in soldiers who have been living in plateau for a long time confirmed by surgery from February 2022 to August 2024 were retrospectively analyzed.Results:In 56 cases with acute appendicitis in soldiers who have been living in plateau for a long time,the appendectomy position results showed:anterior ileum 4 cases(7.14％),lower ileum 10 cases(17.86％),posterior cecum 16 cases(28.57％),lower cecum 9 cases(16.07％),lateral cecum 2 cases(3.58％),posterior ileum 6 cases(10.71％),high(subhepatic)9 cases(16.07％),and left lower abdominal 0 cases,retroperitoneal appendicitis 0 cases,which was suggested that the anatomical position variation of appendicitis in soldiers with acute appendicitis who have been living at high altitude for a long time was relatively large.The direct manifestations of multi-slice spiral CT showed:appendectomy enlarged diameter＞6 mm in 49 cases(87.50％),appendicular wall thickening＞2 mm in 42 cases(75.00％),ppendiceal dilation lumen and effusion in 29 cases(51.79％),appendix indistinctness in 3 cases(5.36％),lppendix fecalith:27 cases(48.21％),gas in the appendix in 16 cases(28.57％).Indirect findings of multi-slice spiral CT showed that,periappendiceal exudation with shadow in 32 cases(57.14％),appendiceal cellulitis with peripheral abscess in 9 cases(16.07％),peritonitis and ascites in 13 cases(23.21％),ileocecal intestinal wall thickening in 22 cases(39.29％),mesenteric lymph node enlargement in 16 cases(28.57％),reflexive intestinal stasis in ileocecal region was observed in 19 cases(33.93％).Conclusion:In the officers and soldiers with acute appendicitis who lived at high altitude for a long time,multi-slice spiral CT showed the direct manifestations of appendiceal thickening,tube wall thickening,lumen dilatation,fluid accumulation,etc.,and the indirect manifestations were periappendiceal exudation with shadow,appendiceal cellulitis with peripheral abscess,ileocecal intestinal wall thickening,reflexes of small intestine and mesenteric lymph node enlargement.Multi-slice spiral CT has the advantages of clear and intuitive,high safety,high resolution and simple operation in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis.

Objective:To explore the efficacy of the fifth metatarsal perforator flap of the lateral plantar artery in repairing the wounds on the anterolateral side of the foot.Methods:This study was a retrospective observational study. Eight patients with skin and soft tissue defects on the anterolateral side of the foot and conformed to the inclusion criteria were admitted to the Department of Plastic Surgery of Hanzhong Central Hospital from July 2020 to July 2023. There were 6 males and 2 females, aged 22 to 72 years. Among the patients, there were three patients with electrical burns, four patients with trauma, and one patient with plantar wart. Preoperatively, a Doppler blood flow detector was used to clarify the number and location of the fifth metatarsal perforating vessels. The area of the wounds measured during the operation ranged from 4.0 cm×3.0 cm to 7.0 cm×5.0 cm, and the fifth metatarsal perforator flaps of the lateral plantar artery with area of 4.0 cm×4.0 cm to 9.0 cm×6.0 cm were designed and harvested to repair the wounds. The wounds in the flap donor sites were repaired with medium-thickness skin grafts from lower limb on the same side. The duration of surgery and intraoperative blood loss volume were recorded. The survivals of the transplanted flap and skin graft were observed after surgery. At the last follow-up, the appearance of the flap and the occurrence of complication were observed, the two-point discrimination distance of the flap was measured, and the shape of the flap donor site as well as the sensation and other functions of the affected foot were observed.Results:The duration of surgery ranged from 70 to 100 min, with an average of 84.6 min. The intraoperative blood loss volume ranged from 30 to 80 mL, with an average of 53.5 mL. After surgery, all flaps survived completely; only one patient developed partial necrosis of the skin graft in the wound in flap donor site, and the wound healed completely after dressing change and re-grafting medium-thickness skin graft from lower limb on the same side. Postoperative follow-up was conducted for 6 to 24 months, with an average of 13.8 months. At the last follow-up, none of the patients developed bloated and deformed flaps or pressure ulcers, and the two-point discrimination distance of the flap ranged from 5 to 13 mm. No tendon adhesion or scar hyperplasia was observed in the flap donor sites, and the sensation, weight-bearing, and walking functions of the affected feet were normal.Conclusions:The use of the fifth metatarsal perforator flap of the lateral plantar artery for repairing the wounds on the anterolateral side of the foot has the advantages of flexible flap design, minimal damage to the flap donor site, simple and feasible surgical operation, and good postoperative foot appearance and function, which is worthy of clinical application and promotion.

Objective:To investigate the self-perceived cognitive decline status in the community population,and to explore the association between different dietary habits and self-perceived cognitive decline.Methods:A cross-sectional study was carried out in 11 879 community residents in the three regions of Weifang,Jining,and Zoucheng in Shandong Province.The Ascertain Dementia-8 and dietary habits information questionnaire were used to assess self-perceived cognitive decline and dietary habits,and their association were analyzed using single factor and multivariate logistic regression.Results:The detection rate of self-perceived cognitive decline was 21.4％.Lo-gistic regression showed that smoking in the past was positively associated with self-perceived cognitive decline(OR=1.40,95％CI:1.14-1.73).However,intake of fruits(often,OR=0.70,95％CI:0.52-0.94;everyday,OR=0.60,95％CI:0.44-0.81),nuts(daily,OR=0.62,95％CI:0.44-0.88),mushrooms(often,OR=0.74,95％CI:0.57-0.92)and high tryptophan foods(sometimes,OR=0.79,95％CI:0.68-0.91;everyday,OR=0.54,95％CI:0.34-0.87)were negatively associated with self-perceived cognitive decline.Conclusion:Smoking history might be a risk factor for self-perceived cognitive decline,and high frequency intake of fruits,nuts,mush-rooms,and high tryptophan foods might protective factors for it.

Objective:To investigate the symptom network structure of subjective cognitive decline(SCD)and its associated factors in middle-aged and older adults.Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted among 8,262 community residents aged 45 years and over in Shandong Province(Jining,Weifang,and Zoucheng).SCD was assessed using the 8-item Ascertain Dementia(AD8)questionnaire,while mental health status was evaluated with Patient Health Questionnaire-9 and General Anxiety Disorder-7.SPSS and R were applied to construct the SCD symptom network model and examine its association with psychological factors.Results:The prevalence of SCD was 24.53％."Difficulty using household appliances"emerged as the core symptom,with the strongest connections to"forgetting appointments"(edge=2.13)and"declining daily memory and thinking ability".Additionally,"poor self-rated mental health"was most strongly linked to"loss of interest,change in hobbies and reduced activities"(edge=0.38).Conclusion:SCD symptoms in middle-aged and older adults exhibits strong interconnections and are closely linked to the individual's mental health condition.

Objective:To investigate the comorbidity rate of chronic diseases and prevalence of depressive symptoms among the middle-aged and elderly population,and explore the association between comorbidity with-chronic disease and depressive symptoms in middle-aged and older people.Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted in Shandong Province.A total of 9 535 middle-aged and older people aged 45 years and over were recrui-ted.General information questionnaire,the chronic disease information questionnaire and Patient Health Question-naire were used for face-to-face interview to screen symptoms and collect information.Univariate analysis and mult-ivariate logistic regression analysis were employed to explore the association between comorbidity with chronic dis-ease and depressive symptoms.Results:The prevalence of depressive symptoms among middle-aged and older peo-ple was 8.7％,while among those with comorbid chronic diseases,the prevalence of depressive symptoms was 29.6％.Respectively,demonstrating an increasing trend with the number of chronic diseases(P＜0.001).Multiva-riate analysis revealed that comorbid chronic disease(OR=1.47,95％CI:1.22-1.78)were risk factors of depres-sive symptoms.Conclusion:Middle-aged and older people with multiple chronic conditions are more likely to be di-agnosed with depressive symptoms,and the detection rate of these symptoms increases with the number of comorbid chronic conditions.Therefore,it is recommended to strengthen mental health interventions for those with multiple chronic conditions.

Objective To analyze the CT manifestations of high altitude pulmonary edema(HAPE)to provide radiological evidence for its early and accurate diagnosis.Methods Totally 200 HAPE patients clinically confirmed at some hospital from April 2021 to April 2024 were enrolled into a study group,and 56 individuals undergoing health examinations at the hospital's physical examination center between January and June 2023 were included into a control group.Examinations were carried out with a United Imaging uCT528 40-slice spiral CT scanner.The patients in the study group were observed in terms of HAPE staging,the extent of pulmonary involvement,CT manifestations of different stages including location,distribution,density and morphology of pulmonary lesion.The diameters of the main pulmonary arteries and ascending aortas of the subjects in the two groups were measured,and the ratios of the two diameters were calculated.SPSS 25.0 software was used for statistical analysis.Results In the study group,there were 26 cases(13.0%)at early stage,105 ones at progression stage(52.5%),32 ones at critical outbreak stage(16.0%)and 37 ones at resolution and absorption stage(18.5%),and there were 35.5%with unilateral lung involvement and 64.5%with bilateral involvement.At early stage,HAPE chest CT manifestations included increased and thickened bilateral bronchovascular bundles,widened main pulmonary artery lumen and faint ground-glass opacity in lungs;at progression stage,HAPE chest CT manifestations revealed multiple cloud-like or patchy areas of increased density within lungs;at critical outbreak stage,CT scanning indicated diffuse patchy opacities and consolidation in lungs,white lung-like changes could be found in some severe cases,and bronchial air signs were shown within affected segments in some ones with severer signs in the right lung than in the left lung;at resolution and absorption stage the CT manifestations were similar to those at early stage,with lesions completely resolving after treatment.The study group had the diameters of the main pulmonary arteries greater while the diameters of the ascending aortas less than those of the control group,and the ratios of the diameters of the two diameters in the study group were higher than those in the control group,with the differences being statistically significant(all P<0.05).Conclusion Chest CT is an important examination method for the early diagnosis of HAPE and clarification of its clinical staging,which directly reflects the pulmonary pathological changes in HAPE patients and helps doctors fully understand the disease progression.

Objective:To explore the association between perceived social support,TMEM161B gene rs768705 polymorphism,and their interaction with incidence of depressive symptoms in the freshmen.Methods:A total of 9928 freshmen from two medical universities were investigated at baseline and follow-up two years later during 2018-2020 by cluster sampling.A self-report demographic characteristics questionnaire was used to collect information of general demographic characteristics.Perceived Social Support Scale,Beck Depression Inventory,Beck Anxiety Inventory and Adolescent Self-Rating Life Events Check List were used to measure the level of perceived social support,depressive symptoms,anxiety symptoms and the number of negative life events of individuals.Blood sam-ples were collected and typed for DNA by professionals.Results:Family support and other support were all nega-tively associated with depressive symptoms in the freshmen(OR=0.96,95％CI:0.93-0.99;OR=0.94,95％CI:0.91-0.98).There was no correlation between friend support and depressive symptoms in the freshmen(OR=0.99,95％CI:0.95-1.02).TMEM161B gene rs768705 polymorphism(AG)was positively associated with de-pressive symptoms in the freshmen(OR=1.58,95％CI:1.12-2.23).The interactions of friend support with TMEM161B gene rs768705 polymorphism(AG)(OR=1.13,95％CI:1.02-1.26)and other support with TMEM161B gene rs768705 polymorphism(AG)(OR=1.13,95％CI:1.02-1.25)had significant effects on the incidence of depressive symptoms in the females and no significant effect in the males.Conclusion:The perceived social support,TMEM161B gene rs768705 polymorphism and their interaction are associated with influence of de-pressive symptoms,and have sex difference in the freshmen.

Objective:To explore relationships and differences of perceived social support and depression-anx-iety symptoms between rural-to-urban migrated residents and rural residents.Methods:A total of 5 958 rural-to-ur-ban migrated residents and 4 720 rural residents were recruited.The Patient Health Questionnaire-9,Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7,and Perceived Social Support Scale were used to assess symptoms of depression,anxiety,and social support,respectively.Network estimation,centrality and predictability measurement,accuracy and stability verification,and network comparison were conducted based on R 4.2.0 to compare the network structure differ-ences between the two groups of residents.Results:In rural-to-urban migrated residents,"lack of energy"in depres-sive symptoms and"inability to control worry"in anxiety symptoms were the nodes with the highest expected influ-ence(EI).In rural residents,"low self-evaluation"in depressive symptoms and"difficulty relaxing"in anxiety symptoms were the nodes with the highest EI.The highest node of perceived social support EI for both groups was"support from relatives/leaders."The bridge nodes were the same for rural-to-urban migrated residents and rural residents,with"be down in spirits"being the nodes with the highest bridge expected influence.The results of net-work comparison test showed that the overall network structure of rural-to-urban migrated residents and rural resi-dents was statistically different(P＜0.05).Conclusion:There are correlation and difference among depressive symptoms,anxiety symptoms,and perceived social support in rural-to-urban migrated and rural residents.
