Objective To investigate the protective effect and underlying mechanisms of HydroMg, a novel sustained-release hydrogen donor, in a model of doxorubicin (DOX)-induced chronic cardiotoxicity. Methods H9C2 cells were treated with 1 μmol/L DOX and/or 1 μg/mL HydroMg, and mitochondrial membrane potential, reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels, and apoptosis were measured. In the animal experiment, mice were divided into control, HydroMg, DOX, and DOX＋HydroMg groups. The HydroMg group received intraperitoneal injection of HydroMg (100 mg/kg). Chronic cardiotoxicity was established by intraperitoneal injection of DOX (5 mg/kg every week) for four consecutive weeks; In the DOX＋HydroMg group, HydroMg (100 mg/kg) was administered intraperitoneally 4–5 h prior to each DOX injection. Cardiac function and remodeling were evaluated by echocardiography and heart weight index (HWI). The long-term survival of mice were analyzed. Subsequently, transcriptome sequencing was performed on myocardial tissues from the DOX group to identify key molecular alterations compared with controls. Results At the cellular level, HydroMg treatment effectively reversed DOX-induced mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress, as evidenced by restored membrane potential, reductions in total ROS and mitochondrial superoxide levels by approximately 30% and 9%, respectively, and a decrease in the apoptosis rate from 34.13% to 18.27%. In the animal model, compared with the DOX group, HydroMg intervention increased left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and fractional shortening (LVFS) by 9.62% and 5.82%, respectively, attenuated the reduction in HWI (4.41 mg/mm vs 3.53 mg/mm), and improved the 4-week survival rate (80% vs 60%). Transcriptomic analysis revealed that the core molecular features of DOX-induced cardiotoxicity, including widespread suppression of oxidative phosphorylation and antioxidant pathways. Conclusions HydroMg protects against DOX-induced chronic cardiotoxicity by alleviating oxidative stress and improving mitochondrial function, and provides a potential therapeutic strategy against DOX-related cardiotoxicity.

Objective: To investigate the trends in mortality and life loss of gastric cancer in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province from 2014 to 2023, so as to provide the evidence for formulating the prevention and control strategy for gastric cancer. Methods: The surveillance on causes of death data of permanent residents in Wenzhou City were collected through the Wenzhou Chronic Disease Monitoring and Management Information System from 2014 to 2023. The crude mortality of gastric cancer was calculated, and standardized by the data from the Sixth Chinese National Population Census in 2010. The life loss were measured using potential years of life lost (PYLL) and rate of potential years of life lost (PYLLR). The characteristics of mortality and life loss of gastric cancer in different genders and age groups were described. The trends in mortality and PYLLR of gastric cancer were analyzed using the average annual percent change (AAPC). Results: Totally 17 080 deaths were reported due to gastric cancer in Wenzhou City from 2014 to 2023, accounting for 12.58% and ranking third in the order of malignant tumor deaths. The crude mortality of gastric cancer was 20.73/105, and the standardized mortality was 15.22/105, showing decreasing trends (AAPC=-3.311%, -6.470%, both P<0.05). The crude mortality of gastric cancer was 29.22/105 in men and 11.61/105 in women, with standardized mortality rates of 20.81/105 and 8.74/105 (both P<0.05). The crude mortality of gastric cancer appeared a tendency towards a rise with increasing age (P<0.05), reaching the highest rate of 225.88/105 in the group aged 80 to <85 years. The PYLL and PYLLR of gastric cancer were 107 607.50 person-years and 1.37‰. The PYLLR appeared a tendency towards a decline from 2014 to 2023, with AAPC of -6.667% (P<0.05). Conclusions The mortality and PYLLR of gastric cancer in Wenzhou City appeared a tendency towards a decline from 2014 to 2023. Men and the elderly populations were the key groups for the prevention and treatment of gastric cancer.

Objective: To investigate the trends in mortality and life loss due to falls among the elderly in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, so as to provide the basis for formulating prevention and control measures for falls among the elderly. Methods: The data on fall-related deaths among the elderly aged 60 and above in Wenzhou City were collected through the Wenzhou Chronic Disease Monitoring and Management Information System from 2015 to 2023. The crude mortality was calculated and standardized using the data from the Sixth National Population Census in 2010. The life loss were measured using potential years of life lost (PYLL), average years of life lost (AYLL), and potential years of life lost rate (PYLLR). The trends in mortality and life loss among the elderly were analyzed using the annual percent change (APC) and average annual percent change (AAPC). Results: There were 11 378 deaths due to falls among the elderly in Wenzhou City from 2015 to 2023, with a crude mortality of 82.67/100 000 and a standardized mortality of 65.32/105, which appeared no significant changing trend (AAPC=3.401%、2.995%,both P>0.05). There was a tendency towards a rise from 2019 to 2023 (APC=12.592%、11.507%, both P<0.05). The majority of falls occurred at home, with 6 312 cases accounting for 55.48%. The primary types of fall-related deaths were slips, trips, and falls on the same level, with 8 541 cases representing 75.07%. The crude mortality and standardized mortality of falls in males were 76.63/105 and 60.86/105, which were lower than that in females at 88.72/100 000 and 70.33/100 000 (both P<0.05), and the trends were consistent with the overall population. The crude mortality of falls among the elderly increased with age (P<0.05). From 2015 to 2023, the crude mortality of falls among the elderly aged 60 to <65 years showed an upward trend (AAPC=4.860%, P<0.05), while no significant trend was observed in other age groups (all P>0.05). The PYLL was 5 123 person-years, the AYLL was 0.45 years per person, and the PYLLR was 0.37‰. From 2015 to 2023, PYLL showed an upward trend (AAPC=5.477%, P<0.05). The PYLL, AYLL, and PYLLR for males were 3.08 times, 3.48 times, and 2.67 times those of females, respectively. Conclusions From 2015 to 2023, the mortality of falls among the elderly in Wenzhou City had remained relatively stable. However, PYLL showed an upward trend. Males and older seniors were key groups for falls prevention. It is recommended to enhance health education and promote age-friendly home modifications to prevent falls among the elderly.

Objective To review clinical trial registration status of TCM treatment for coronary microvascular disease;To analyze the effectiveness and safety of TCM in treating coronary microvascular disease.Methods The clinical trials of TCM in the treatment of coronary artery microvascular disease included in the Chinese Clinical Trials Registry and the US Clinical Trials Registry from the establishment of the database to January 31,2024 were retrieved,and the general characteristics(time,region,funding source),design type,intervention regimen and outcome indicators of the included clinical trials were extracted and analyzed using Excel 2019 software.Results A total of 17 clinical trials were included,including 16 pre-registrations.The registered units were distributed in 5 provinces across the country,involving 17 registration institutions.The two regions with the most distribution were Shanghai(6 studies,35.29%)and Beijing(5 studies,29.41%).The types of studies were mainly interventional studies,and most of the study designs were randomized parallel controlled studies(16 studies,94.12%).A total of 8 interventions were reported,including Chinese patent medicine,TCM decoction,TCM intravenous preparation,and acupuncture and moxibustion.A total of 143 outcome indicators were designed,including 10 first-level indicators,including coronary artery microcirculation,clinical efficacy,symptoms and signs,TCM syndromes,quality of life,exercise tolerance,cardiac function,physical and chemical testing,safety,and pharmacoeconomic evaluation.Conclusion The registration of clinical trials by TCM in the treatment of coronary microvascular diseases has been gradually receiving attention from researchers,but the overall number is still small.At present,the study needs to be optimized in terms of study design and index selection.

Objective:To investigate the short-term clinical efficacy of two fixation methods, mini-titanium plate fixation and suture suspension, in cervical posterior unilateral laminoplasty, and to explore the relationship between changes in the cervical sagittal sequence and therapeutic outcomes.Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 55 patients who underwent cervical posterior unilateral laminoplasty with mini-titanium plate fixation and 50 patients with suture suspension at the First People's Hospital of Lianyungang from September 2020 to January 2023. All patients were followed up for 12 months, and the axial symptoms was recorded. The main clinical efficacy evaluations included before surgery and 12 months after surgery visual analog score (VAS) for neck pain, Japanese Orthopaedic Association score (JOA) and neck disability index (NDI). Four parameters were recorded before surgery and 12 months after surgery to assess the sagittal sequence: C 2-7 sagittal vertical axis (C 2-7SVA), T 1 slope angle (T 1s), C 2-7Cobb angle and cervical range of motion. Results:The mini-titanium plate fixation group had 5 cases of axial symptoms, while the traditional suture suspension group had 16 cases; the postoperative VAS, JOA and C 2-7Cobb angle in the mini-titanium plate fixation group were all less than those in the suture suspension group, with statistically significant differences ( P<0.05). Specifically, the postoperative VAS in the mini-titanium plate fixation group was (1.93 ± 1.42) points, and (2.67 ± 2.15) points in the suture suspension group ( P = 0.049); the JOA was (10.39 ± 2.20) points in the mini-titanium plate fixation group and (9.62 ± 1.52) points in the suture suspension group ( P = 0.012); the C 2-7Cobb angle was (21.087 ± 3.564)° in the mini-titanium plate fixation group and (23.092 ± 1.265)° in the suture suspension group ( P = 0.003). There was no statistical difference in operation time and blood loss between two groups ( P>0.05). The postoperative C 2-7SVA, T 1s and range of motion in the traditional suture suspension group were less than those in the mini-titanium plate fixation group, with statistically significant differences ( P<0.05). Specifically, the postoperative C 2-7SVA was (25.700 ± 3.035) mm in the mini-titanium plate fixation group and (23.946 ± 3.079) mm in the suture suspension group ( P = 0.004); the postoperative T 1s was (28.770 ± 2.361)° in the mini-titanium plate fixation group and (26.746 ± 3.198)° in the suture suspension group ( P = 0.004); the postoperative range of motion was (32.651 ± 4.995)° in the mini-titanium plate fixation group and (28.672 ± 5.874)° in the suture suspension group ( P = 0.003). Conclusions:Cervical posterior unilateral laminoplasty with mini-titanium plate fixation can effectively improve VAS, JOA, and restore neurological function, maintaining the cervical spine's sagittal balance, stability, and maximum range of motion.

Anticipatory anxiety is a negative emotion that arises when individuals encounter potential threats or uncertainties in the future. It is the core symptom of a variety of anxiety disorders, and is closely associated with the occurrence, severity, treatment outcome, and prognosis of anxiety disorders, which has garnered a growing amount of focus in clinical practice. Nevertheless, scientific research on anticipatory anxiety continues to face obstacles such as unclear pathological mechanisms, the absence of simple and consistent self-assessment tools, and effective interventions. To improve understanding of the role of anticipatory anxiety in the diagnosis and treatment of anxiety disorders, this study reviews pertinent domestic and international literature, and briefly introduces the concept, assessment and measurement, activation paradigm, pathological mechanisms, and interventions of anticipatory anxiety.

The quality of the included studies was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Checklist for Qualitative Research (2016 edition). Data were synthesized and integrated using meta-aggregation.Results:A total of 10 studies were included, from which 33 primary findings were extracted. These findings were classified into nine new categories and further synthesized into four overarching themes: development and exacerbation of physical and psychological distress during the transition, multiple challenges and dilemmas during the transition, multidimensional support needs during the transition, and positive coping and personal growth.Conclusions:Family caregivers in palliative care experience complex physical and psychological changes, multiple challenges, and diverse care needs during the hospital-to-home transition. Healthcare professionals should pay close attention to the lived experiences and actual needs of family caregivers during this period, so as to facilitate a successful transition from hospital to home.
