Liumotang comes from the Yuan dynasty's Effective Prescription Handed Down for Generations of Physicians. It is composed of six medicinal materials： Arecae Semen， Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum， Aucklandiae Radix， Linderae Radix， Rhei Radix et Rhizoma， and Aurantii Fructus. It is a classical formula for treating abdominal pain due to Qi stagnation and constipation accompanied by heat. This study systematically collated the records of Liumotang in ancient medical books and modern clinical literature and conducted in-depth analysis and textual research on its formula source， main diseases， composition， dosage， medical books， container capacity， processing， preparation method， usage， drug basis， formula meaning， and other key information， so as to provide a powerful reference for the development and clinical application of compound preparations of the classical formula Liumotang. The results show that Liumotang was first seen in Effective Prescription Handed Down for Generations of Physicians， and many medical books of the past dynasties have imitated this. In terms of drug basis， the dried and mature seeds of the palm plant Areca catechu， resin-containing wood of the Daphneaceae plant Aquilaria sinensis， the dried roots of the Asteraceae plant woody Aucklandia lappa， the dried tuber root of the Lauraceae plant Lindera aggregata， the dried roots and rhizomes of the knotweed plant， R. palmatum， R.tangutikum， and R. officinale， and the dried and unripe fruits of the citrus genus C. aurantium and its cultivated varieties from the family Rutaceae were selected. In terms of dosage， through the textual research on bowls in the Ming and Qing dynasties， combined with the conversion of medicines and bowl capacity in the Qing dynasty， it was estimated that the dosage of each drug in the Yuan dynasty was 10.86 g. In the Ming and Qing dynasties， the dosage of drugs was mostly equal， but the dosage of drugs was somewhat different. In terms of processing， preparation method， and usage， in the medical books of the past dynasties， the processing of drugs has slightly changed， but raw drugs are used in all preparations. The preparation method and usage did not change much during the Yuan， Ming， and Qing dynasties， except for certain differences in dosage. In terms of syndrome， Liumotang was first used to treat abdominal pain due to Qi stagnation and constipation accompanied by heat. Medical books of the past dynasties often omit the symptoms of heat. In modern clinical practice， Liumotang is mainly used in the digestive system and urinary system diseases and is mostly used to treat constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome， biliary reflux gastritis， functional constipation， slow transit constipation， and other diseases， with no adverse reactions found yet. The above results provide a reliable scientific basis for the development and clinical treatment of Liumotang compound preparations.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of jujuboside A （JuA） on the learning and memory abilities and histopathological changes in the rat model of vascular cognitive impairment （VCI） and explore the potential mechanisms by which JuA treats VCI. MethodsA total of 50 male SPF-grade SD rats were randomized into a sham operation group （n=10）， a blank control group （n=10）， and a modeling group （n=30）. The rats in the modeling group underwent bilateral carotid artery ligation （2-VO） for the modeling of VCI. After stabilization， the VCI rats were randomized into model， JuA （20 mg·kg^-¹）， and donepezil （0.45 mg·kg^-¹） groups. After 4 weeks of gavage， the novel object recognition and Morris water maze tests were conducted to evaluate the learning and memory abilities of rats. Nissl staining was employed to evaluate the morphology and number of hippocampal neurons. Real-time PCR was employed to measure the mRNA levels of glycogen synthase kinase-3β （GSK-3β）， cAMP response element-binding protein （CREB）， B cell lymphoma-2 （Bcl-2）， phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase （PI3K）， and protein kinase B （Akt） in the hippocampal tissue. Western blot was employed to quantify the protein levels of GSK-3β， p-GSK-3β， p-CREB， Bcl-2， PI3K， p-PI3K， Akt， and p-Akt in the hippocampal tissue. ResultCompared with the sham operation group， the model group exhibited declines in the learning and memory abilities （P<0.01）， neuronal damage and decreased neurons in the hippocampal CA1 region （P<0.01）， up-regulation in the mRNA level of GSK-3β （P<0.01）， and down-regulation in the mRNA levels of PI3K， Akt， CREB， and Bcl-2， as well as the protein levels of p-PI3K， p-Akt， p-GSK-3β， p-CREB， and Bcl-2 （P<0.01）. In comparison to the model group， both the JuA and donepezil groups demonstrated improvements in the learning and memory abilities （P<0.05， P<0.01）， with reduced neuronal damage and increased neurons （P<0.05， P<0.01）. In addition， the two groups showed down-regulation in the mRNA level of GSK-3β （P<0.01） and up-regulation in the mRNA levels of PI3K， Akt， CREB， and Bcl-2 and the protein levels of p-PI3K， p-Akt， p-GSK-3β， p-CREB， and Bcl-2 （P<0.05， P<0.01）. There were no statistically significant differences between the blank control and sham operation groups in terms of the learning and memory abilities， neuron count， and mRNA and protein levels of PI3K/Akt/GSK-3β pathway-related factors. ConclusionJuA can ameliorate the cognitive impairment in the rat model of VCI by activating the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway， reducing the apoptosis of hippocampal neurons， and alleviating the hippocampal neuronal damage.

Objective To explore the infection status and clinical characteristics of human parvovirus B19 (HPV-B19) in patients with hematological disease. Methods A total of 94 patients with benign hematological disease, 128 patients with hematological malignancy, and 89 healthy individuals at Shanghai Eighth People’s Hospital from February 2019 to February 2020 were selected. The levels of specific IgM and nucleic acid of HPV-B19 in the plasma were detected using ELISA and PCR. The infection rates among the 3 groups and clinical characteristics between HPV-B19 positive and negative patients with hematological disease were compared. Results The positive rate of HPV-B19 IgM was 9.6% (9/94), the positive rate of nucleic acid was 11.7% (11/94), and the overall infection rate of HPV-B19 (IgM and/or nucleic acid positive) was 14.9% (14/94) in benign group of patients. The positive rate of HPV-B19 IgM was 18.0% (23/128), the positive rate of nucleic acid was 19.5% (25/128), and the overall infection rate of HPV-B19 was 26.6% (34/128) in malignant group of patients. The positive rate of HPV-B19 IgM was 1.1% (1/89), the positive rate of nucleic acid was 2.2% (2/89), and the overall infection rate of HPV-B19 was 2.2% (2/89) in healthy controls. The overall HPV-B19 infection rate in benign group of patients was higher than that in healthy controls (P＝0.006). The overall HPV-B19 infection rate was higher in malignant group of patients than that in benign group of patients (P＝0.037) and healthy controls (P＜0.001). In the benign group, the HPV-B19 infection rates in patients with pure red cell aplasia (PRCA), autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA), immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), and aplastic anemia (AA) were higher, with 44.4% (4/9), 27.3% (3/11), 25.0% (4/16), and 21.4% (3/14), respectively. In the malignant group, the HPV-B19 infection rates in patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) were higher, with 42.9% (9/21) and 37.5% (6/16), respectively. The HPV-B19 positive patients in both hematological disease groups were older (P＜0.05). In patients with NHL, CLL or multiple myeloma (MM), HPV-B19 infection decreased the reticulocyte ratio (P＜0.05); in patients with NHL, acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), HPV-B19 infection prolonged bone marrow suppression time after chemotherapy (P＜0.05). Conclusions HPV-B19 infection rate in patients with hematological disease is elevated and HPV-B19 infection may influence the condition and treatment efficiency of these patients.

Objective: To explore the relationship between related factors of non-suicidal self-injury behavior (NSSI) among middle school students in Guizhou Province, so as to provide the evidence for preventing high risk behaviors in adolescents. Methods: A stratified cluster random sampling method was used to select 1 034 junior and senior middle school students from Zunyi City, Qiannan Prefecture and Tongren City in Guizhou Province from April to October in 2023. Questionnaire survey was conducted to collect information including Adolescent Self injury Scale and Family Assessment Device. The R 4.4.1 software was employed for network analysis visualization, centrality indicators, and result stability assessment. Results: The detection rate of NSSI behavior among middle school students in Guizhou province was 29.6%, with a detection rate of 25.5% for boys and 33.1% for girls, showing a statistically significant difference ( χ 2=7.07, P <0.05). There were statistically significant differences in scores of emotional communication, egoism, family rules, positive communication, problem solving, expression of positive emotions and management of negative emotions self-efficacy, and bullying victimization in various dimensions between middle school students with and without NSSI ( Z =-13.66 to -7.05, P <0.01). NSSI among middle school students was positively correlated with social/relational bullying, depression and anxiety, and there were relatively close connections in the network ( r =0.35, 0.43, 0.42, P <0.01). Centrality indicators showed that the highest in strength and closeness centrality were stress ( Z =1.29, 1.58), the highest in betweenness centrality was for emotional communication ( Z =1.91), and the highest in expected influence index was for physical bullying ( Z =1.44)( P < 0.05). Conclusions Stress, emotional communication and physical bullying have significant impacts in the network of factors related to NSSI. Social/relational bullying, depression and anxiety have strong direct correlations with NSSI behavior among middle school students.

Objective: To investigate the status of latent tuberculosis infection（LTBI）among freshmen in middle schools and their willingness of preventive treatment in Yunyan District of Guiyang, so as to provide a reference for the prevention and control of tuberculosis in schools. Methods: The tuberculin skin test (TST) and X-ray scans were used to screen the TB infection of 13 915 freshmen in middle schools in Yunyan District of Guiyang in 2023, and a questionnaire survey on the willingness of accepting tuberculosis preventive treatment was conducted to LTBI patients. The χ 2 test and Fisher exact probability was conducted for the comparison of the rates among the groups. Results: Among the freshmen screened, the detection rate of LTBI was 3.29%. There were statistically significant difference in LTBI rates among freshmen of different genders (boys:2.87%, girls:3.81%), age groups (12-15 years old:3.31%, 16-17 years old:3.92%, 18-20 years old:1.91%), and school stages (junior high school:3.52%, ordinary high school:5.96%, vocational high school:2.29%)（ χ 2=9.59, 13.08, 54.30, P ＜0.01). A total of 356 LTBI freshmen completed questionnaire survey,and 299(83.99%) were willing to accept tuberculosis preventive treatment, but the actual number of LIBI freshman who underwent preventive treatment was zero. Those LTBI who had received Bacille Calmette Guérin(BCG) vaccine(86.97%) was higher in the reporting rates of being willing to accept preventive treatment than that of LTBI who had not received BCG vaccine( 75.79 %),the differences were statistically significant( χ 2=6.48， P <0.05). The main reasons for refusing preventive treatment was worry about adverse drug reactions(80.70%), social acceptance and the support of social institutions were needed most(85.96%). Conclusions The LTBI rate among freshmen in Yunyan District of GuiYang is higher. Although the freshmen with LTBI have a higher willingness to accept preventive treatment, however, no one has undergone preventive treatment. Corresponding measures need to be taken for improving the preventive treatment rate of LIBI freshmen.

Objective: To understand the health status of primary school freshmen in Guiyang and the health management service needs of parents after examination, so as to provide a reference for establishment of a collaborative health management framework involving schools, families, and healthcare providers. Methods: From September to October 2024, a stratified random cluster sampling method was used in Guiyang City to select 3 210 students and 3 133 parents who participated in the physical examination for primary school freshmen. Demographic indicators, physical examination indicators and laboratory examination indicators of students were collected, and parents needs for post examination health management service were investigated by self designed questionnaire. Multiple linear regression analysis was adopted to investigate the related factors of parents health management service needs after the examination. Results: The detection rates of common illness among primary school freshmen were 60.22% for dental caries, 17.23 % for screening myopia, 6.11% for obesity, 3.86% for iron deficiency anemia, and 1.15% for scoliosis. The co-occurrence rate of common illness among freshmen during the physical examination was 23.89% ( n =767), among which the comorbidity rate of screening myopia and dental caries (8.22%) and obesity and dental caries (4.27%) were higher. About 63.80% parents indicated that the physical examination items were simple, and 2 366 parents (75.52%) indicated a demand for post examination management services; the average score of parents demands for post examination services was (3.12±0.70). In terms of the scores of each dimension, the mean score of nutrition and health (3.58±0.74) was the highest, while the lowest mean score was for traditional Chinese medicine health care (2.77±0.67). The mean scores for the other dimensions were as follows:exercise intervention (3.29± 0.79 ), psychological monitoring (3.17±0.58), and health education and signing (2.81±0.73). The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that parents educational level (junior high school, high school/vocational school, college/undergraduate and above), living conditions (floating), and children s illness status (1, 2, >3 types) were the related factors of parents health management service needs after the entrance examination for new students ( B =2.16, 3.07, 3.68; -2.19; 3.14, 3.34, 3.11, P <0.05). Conclusions The prevalence of common illness in primary schools in Guiyang is characterized by a heavy burden from single diseases, with a notable occurrence of multiple comorbidities. After the physical examination, parents have obvious demand for follow up health management services. These health management services should integrate the concept of multi disease prevention according to the needs of parents.

Direct compression is an ideal method for tablet preparation, but it requires the powder's high functional properties. The functional properties of the powder during compression directly affect the quality of the tablet. 15 parameters such as Py, FES-8KN, FES-12KN, FES-16KN, CR-8KN, CR-12KN, and CR-16KN were used as the characteristic variables in this paper. Unsupervised learning methods like principal component analysis, cluster analysis, and factor analysis were applied to analyze and classify the compression behavior data of 36 traditional Chinese medicine powders. The results showed that both different dimensionality reduction classification methods could effectively differentiate the compression behavior characteristics of 36 traditional Chinese medicine compound powders. The hierarchical cluster analysis results showed a better agreement with the actual compression phenomena of the powders, where group 1 was high elasticity and low compressibility, group 2 was easily compressed and hard to break, group 3 was excellent compressibility and compactibility. This study is expected to provide references and ideas for predicting the behavior of traditional Chinese medicine powders and the screening of tablet formulations.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effects and potential mechanisms of morning and evening fasting on postprandial lipid responses, a post hoc analysis based on a crossover randomized controlled trial was conducted to assess the effects of different fasting strategies on postprandial lipid metabolism in community residents in Shanghai. MethodsA total of 23 participants took part in a randomized crossover trial involving two intervention days: morning fasting and evening fasting, with a washout period of 6 days between intervention days. Two-way analysis of variance was used to test the differences in total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and the relative expression of circadian clock genes before and after the next meal under fasting. Wilcoxon rank sum tests were used to analyze the different metabolites between the two groups. Principal component analysis and Orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis were conducted to evaluate the ability of metabolites to differentiate between morning fasting and evening fasting and identify the important differential metabolites. After adjusting for age, sex, and BMI, a partial correlation analysis was performed to identify metabolites associated with plasma lipids. In addition, important metabolites associated with plasma lipids were computed by pathway enrichment analysis. ResultsAfter evening fasting intervention, fasting TG level [(0.37±0.29) vs (0.27±0.18)] mmol·L^-1, fasting and postprandial change values in TC [(2.74±0.47) vs (2.51±0.27)] mmol·L^-1 and LDL-C [(1.32±0.38) vs (0.99±0.27)] mmol·L^-1 were significantly lower than those after morning fasting (P<0.05). While, change values of fasting LDL-C [(0.89±0.37) vs (1.14±0.37)] mmol·L^-1 and TG [(1.14±0.19) vs (1.28±0.17)] mmol·L^-1 were significantly higher than those after morning fasting intervention (P<0.05). After fasting intervention, the relative expression of AMPK, CRY1, CLOCK, MTNR1B, AANAT, and ASMT was correlated with the amount of plasma lipid changes (P<0.05). Specifically, CLOCK and AANAT were upregulated following evening fasting and downregulated after morning fasting. Among the 217 important differential metabolites, 111 were correlated with plasma lipids, and which were primarily enriched in the cysteine and methionine metabolism pathways (P<0.05). ConclusionCompared to morning fasting, evening fasting was more effective in improving postprandial lipid responses, indicating that an evening fasting window during intermittent fasting could be conducive to cardiovascular disease prevention in adults. Meanwhile, it is suggested that morning and evening fasting may affect lipid responses through circadian rhythm oscillations and the cysteine and methionine metabolism pathways.

"Double first-class" universities bear the pressure on competitions in scientific research and talents cultivation. Young faculties at these universities commonly face the stress of tenure-track assessment. Many of them are required to engage in part-time counselor work, leveraging their expertise in the value guidance for the students and providing all-round education. This article outlines the formation and development of the part-time counselor system, as well as the importance and necessity of part-time counselors in "double first-class" universities. Taking preventive medicine major of Fudan University as an example, the practical work of part-time counselors are explained. Finally, the responsibility of part-time counselors, as well as shortcomings and prospects of the construction of the part-time counselor team are summarized based on the major characteristics and cultivation goals of preventive medicine major. In a word, part-time counselors play an important role in guiding students' value formation, addressing psychological and life issues, fostering professional identity, mentoring academic research, and engaging in public health practice. In turn, this work deepens young teachers' appreciation of socialist education and strengthens their sense of nationality at the same time. In the future, it is still necessary to further improve the discovery and cultivation of top-notch innovative talents, promote interdisciplinary exchanges, and strengthen public health practice, etc. Strengthen the all-round capacity building of the team of part-time counselors, and accelerate the cultivation of high-quality interdisciplinary public health leaders who serve Healthy China and have an international perspective are of great significance.

Objectives: This study aimed to validate the risk of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection, identify infection risk factors among air passengers subject to a 14-day mandatory quarantine, and evaluate the accuracy of mass symptom-based screening criteria at an airport. Methods: This retrospective cohort study analyzed data from 116 004 air passengers who entered Thailand through Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok from April 2020 to September 2020. The incidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection, risk characteristics, and accuracy indices of symptom-based screening were calculated. Results: The overall incidence of SARS-CoV-2 was 0.5%, or 540 infections per 100 000 air passengers. Identified risk factors included sex, nationality, continent of departure, on-arrival screening results, and month of travel. Positive screening results indicated a higher risk and positive likelihood ratio for SARS-CoV-2 infection. However, the on-arrival screening criteria demonstrated low sensitivity and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve. Conclusions The current study confirms previous findings that the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection during air travel is low. However, this might result from strict pre-departure screening and the SARS-CoV-2 test requirement for arriving passengers. The symptom-based screening criteria used upon arrival showed a low probability of identifying positive cases, suggesting that incorporating additional criteria could help detect asymptomatic infections. The integrated screening and quarantine model proved effective in preventing the spread of the virus into local communities.
