BACKGROUND:With the development of oral implantology, implant restoration has gradually become the first choice of restoration after missing teeth, and bone augmentation procedures have led to the expansion of implant indications and the improvement of the success rate of implant restoration. However, the long-term stability of bone height, width and volume after bone augmentation surgery has been one of the clinical difficulties for oral implantologists.OBJECTIVE:To measure and analyze the bone width, height, and volume of different sites in the bone augmentation area at different time points using cone-beam CT and an automatic image alignment program.METHODS:Seventeen patients with severe bone defects in the upper anterior region who underwent Onlay bone block grafting in the external oblique region were recruited from the Department of Stomatology,Zhejiang Tongde Hospital. There were 10 males and 7 females, with a mean age of(45.88±12.47)years.The cone-beam CT scans of the patients' Onlay bone grafts were taken at five time points:preoperatively, immediately postoperatively,6 months postoperatively, immediately post implantation, and 6 months post implantation, and then were statistically analyzed for alveolar bone volume, width, and height in the bone augmentation area,as well as for the difference in the alveolar bone volume of the bone incremental area between patients of different sexes and age.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)The alveolar bone volume in the bone augmentation area was higher immediately and 6 months after bone grafting than before bone grafting(P<0.05)as well as was higher immediately after bone grafting than 6 months after bone grafting(P<0.05).The alveolar bone height in the bone augmentation area was higher immediately and 6 months after bone grafting than before bone grafting(P<0.05).The horizontal width of the alveolar bone at various sites in the bone augmentation area immediately and 6 months after bone grafting was higher than that before bone grafting(P<0.05).(2)There was no significant difference in the volume of bone graft resorption at various sites in the bone augmentation area between males and females immediately and 6 months after bone grafting(P>0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed a positive correlation between age and the change in bone augmentation area volume immediately and 6 months after bone grafting, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).(3)Twenty-five dental implants with completed implant restorations functioned normally, and the survival rate of the implants was 100%.To conclude,Onlay bone graft implant restoration in the upper anterior region can significantly improve insufficient bone with favorable outcomes. However, there is some amount of bone resorption in the bone augmentation area at 6 months after Onlay bone grafting and it is necessary to open up the second surgical area.Clinicians should consider different bone augmentation procedures in accordance with the specific circumstances.

Objective:
To explore the intervention effects of different exercise modalities on executive function in school aged children, providing references for formulating exercise prescriptions to promote school aged children executive function.
Methods:
A systematic literature search was conducted using PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, CNKI, Wanfang, VIP and CBM to identify studies on the effects of exercises on executive function in school aged children. The search period spanned from the database inception to August 2025. Two researchers independently screened the literature, extracted data, and evaluated the risk of bias of the included studies. Network Meta analysis was performed using Stata 16.0.
Results:
A total of 51 studies involving 5 710 school aged children and seven modalities of exercises(control group, small ball sports, large ball sports, aerobic exercise, combined exercise, sport game, gymnastic and dance sports) were finally included. Network Meta analysis showed that, in terms of inhibitory control development of school aged children, small ball sports ( SMD =-0.98,95% CI =-1.32 to -0.64 ), large ball sports ( SMD =-0.64,95% CI =-0.91 to -0.36), and mixed sports ( SMD =-0.26,95% CI =-0.50 to -0.02]) were more effective than the control group; in terms of working memory, largeball sports ( SMD =-1.26,95% CI =-1.88 to -0.65) and small ball sports ( SMD =-0.91,95% CI =-1.64 to -0.19) were superior to the control group; in terms of improving cognitive flexibility, large ball sports ( SMD =-1.02,95% CI =-1.28 to -0.76), gymnastics and dance sports ( SMD =-0.80,95% CI =-1.21 to -0.40), and small ball sports ( SMD =-0.75,95% CI =-1.15 to -0.36) were more effective than the control group (all P <0.05). Surface under cumulative ranking curve(SUCRA) showed that small ball sports had the highest value (SUCRA=98.9%) in improving inhibitory control, while large ball sports achieved the highest score(SUCRA=92.6%) in enhancing working memory, and large ball sports also had the highest value(SUCRA=94.7%) in promoting cognitive flexibility.
Conclusions
For developing inhibitory control in school aged children, small ball sports are recommended as a priority. For enhancing working memory and cognitive flexibility, large ball sports are recommended.

ObjectiveTo investigate and manage an imported dengue fever (DF) outbreak in Shanghai in 2024, to summarize the experience and lessons learned from the on-site management, and to provide a reference basis for future prevention and control of DF. MethodsEpidemiological investigation and case search were carried out for an imported DF outbreak in Shanghai, 2024. Real-time fluorescence polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used to detect dengue virus nucleic acid in the serum samples from cases. Meanwhile, emergency vector surveillance and mosquito control measures were carried out in the affected areas, and the effectiveness of the management was evaluated. ResultsAccording to the epidemiological investigation, it was confirmed that this epidemic was a family cluster of imported DF, with both cases infected in Thailand and developed symptoms successively after returning to Shanghai. Laboratory testing identified the pathogens as dengue virus serotype-3 (DENV-3). In the core and precautionary area, ultra-low-volume space spraying and residual spraying were combined to kill adult mosquitoes, and at the same time, comprehensive cleaning and elimination of mosquito breeding sites was carried out. After 2 weeks, the Breteau Index (BI) in the core area decreased from 20 to 5, and the mosquito net trap index decreased from 2 mosquitoes (net·hour)-1 to 0.67 mosquitoes (net·hour)-1. Continuous implementation of mosquito control measures kept the BI and net trap index below the safety thresholds [BI<5 and mosquito net trap index <2 mosquitoes (net·hour)-1] both in the core and precautionary area. ConclusionEarly diagnosis and isolation of patients, combined with rapid suppression of the density of vector Aedes mosquitoes, are the key measures to prevent the transmission of imported DF cases.

ObjectiveTo investigate the heterogeneity and transcriptomic characteristics of T-cell subsets in the liver of mice with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) at the single-cell level using single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), and to provide a reference for studying the mechanism of action of T cells in NASH. MethodsSix male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into control group fed with regular diet and NASH group fed with methionine-choline-deficient (MCD) diet, with three mice in each group, and liver tissue was collected for scRNA-seq after 6 weeks of modeling. Specific differentially expressed genes were analyzed between T-cell subsets, and related analyses were performed, including dimension clustering, cell type annotation, t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding (t-SNE), violin plot, gene ontology (GO) functional enrichment analysis, and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis. Immunofluorescent staining was used to observe the expression of the T cell marker Tcrα and the specific marker genes Tcf7 and Cxcr6 in the liver of mice in the two groups. The independent-samples t test was used for comparison of continuous data between two groups. ResultsTwo T cell subsets were identified in the liver of mice, and the percentage of cluster 6 decreased from 58.5% in the control group to 48.7% in the NASH group. The top four specific genes were Nsg2, Cd8b1, Cd8a, and Tcf7. Tcf7, a characteristic marker gene for cluster 6, was expressed in 65% of cells in cluster 6, and therefore, cluster 6 was defined as Tcf7+ T cells. The GO and KEGG enrichment analyses showed that the differentially expressed genes of cluster 6 were involved in T cell activation, leukocyte adhesion, binding ubiquitin-like protein ligase, and the signaling pathways for Th17, Th1, and Th2 cell differentiation. The percentage of cluster 7 increased from 41.5% in the control group to 51.3% in the NASH group. The top four specific genes of cluster 7 were Cd40lg, Tcrg-C1, Il2rα, and Cxcr6. Cxcr6 was expressed in 90% of cells in cluster 7, and therefore, cluster 7 was defined as Cxcr6+ T cells. The GO and KEGG enrichment analyses showed that cluster 7 was involved in T cell activation, cytokine production, the T cell receptor signaling pathway, and the Th17 cell differentiation and MAPK signaling pathway. Immunofluorescence assay showed that compared with the control group, the NASH group showed a significant reduction in the area with positive co-expression of Tcf7 protein and Tcrα protein (1.80%±0.67% vs 0.33%±0.13%, P<0.05) and a significant increase in the area with positive co-expression of Cxcr6 protein and Tcrα protein (0.50%±0.09% vs 2.66%± 0.33%, P<0.001). ConclusionThere is a reduction in the percentage of Tcf7+ T cells and an increase in the percentage of Cxcr6+ T cells in NASH mice, revealing the characteristics and differences of T cells in the liver of NASH mice.

Objective:
To investigate the association between edentulism and the risk of social isolation in middle-aged and elderly populations, provide empirical evidence for formulating social isolation prevention and intervention policies targeting edentulous middle-aged and elderly populations.
Methods:
Data were derived from the baseline survey (2011) and three follow-ups (2013, 2015, 2018) of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS). Participants were enrolled in the follow-up from the baseline. Those identified as socially isolated in any of the follow-up surveys conducted in 2013, 2015, or 2018 were considered to have reached the endpoint; otherwise, the follow-up was continued until the end of the 2018 survey; 9 870 individuals were ultimately included. Subjects were grouped by edentulism status. Chi-square test and multivariate Cox regression analysis were performed using Stata 17.0.
Results:
During a median follow-up of 6.54 years, 1 800 cases of social isolation occurred, with an incidence rate of 18.23%(17.47%~18.99%). Multivariate Cox regression showed that edentulism was associated with an increased risk of social isolation (HR=1.21, 95% CI: 1.03-1.42) after adjusting for confounders. Subgroup analysis revealed population heterogeneity. Sensitivity analyses confirmed the stability of the results.
Conclusion
Edentulism is associated with an increased risk of social isolation in middle-aged and elderly adults.

China Occupational Medicine 2024;51(5):586-591
The research focus of diabetes, a common chronic metabolic disease, has shifted from individual factors to environmental factors at the population level. Epidemiological studies suggest an association between exposure to environmental pollutants and the risk of diabetes. Major environmental pollutants include organochlorine pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls, phthalates and their metabolites, and arsenics, which primarily enter the human body through the skin, respiratory tract, and digestive system. Long-term exposure to these pollutants can affect the pathology of diabetes through various mechanisms, such as promoting insulin resistance, causing insulin secretion deficiencies, inducing oxidative stress-induced glucose metabolism disorders, and affecting DNA methylation. However, the potential damaging mechanism of the impact of environmental pollutants on diabetes remain unclear. Limitations such as insufficient sample sizes, uncertainties regarding exposure time and dosage, and differences between single and co-exposures. In the future, it is necessary to focus on exploring and analyzing the mechanisms of environmental pollutant exposure on diabetes to develop effective prevention strategies, control and reduce the incidence and development of diabetes, and provide new insights into its diagnosis and treatment.
