The c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) signaling pathway, a key member of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) family, plays a central role in the pathogenesis and progression of central nervous system (CNS) diseases by regulating core biological processes such as apoptosis, inflammatory responses, synaptic plasticity, and autophagy. This article sorts out and analyzes relevant literature published domestically and internationally in recent years, summarizing the mechanisms of action of the JNK signaling pathway in common CNS diseases and the research progress in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) interventions in CNS diseases through the regulation of the JNK signaling pathway. Studies have shown that active components of TCM, such as berberine, paeoniflorin, and astragaloside Ⅳ, as well as compound formulations like Heixiaoyao san, Ditan tang, and Buyang huanwu tang, can exert neuroprotective effects in various CNS disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury, and epilepsy, by inhibiting the aberrant activation of the JNK signaling pathway, thereby alleviating neuroinflammation, oxidative stress, and neuronal apoptosis, while improving synaptic function and cognitive behavioral deficits, regulating autophagy, and maintaining blood-brain barrier integrity.

AIM: To investigate the differences in morphological structure and retinal blood perfusion between the affected eye and the contralateral healthy eye using optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA)in patients with idiopathic macular epiretinal membrane(IMEM)before and after surgery, and to evaluate the association of these parameters with functional and anatomical outcomes to inform prognostic assessment. METHODS:A prospective study was conducted at Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital between January 2023 and December 2024. Consecutive patients diagnosed with unilateral IMEM were enrolled; the fellow eye served as an internal control. All participants underwent standardized ophthalmic evaluations, including optical coherence tomography(OCT), OCTA, and color fundus photography. Key quantitative parameters assessed included best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA), central macular thickness(CMT), foveal avascular zone(FAZ)area, vessel density in the inner capillary plexus(ICP), superficial capillary plexus(SCP), deep capillary plexus(DCP), and choroidal capillary perfusion area(CCPA). Measurements were obtained preoperatively and at 1 and 3 mo postoperatively. Correlation analyses were performed between the above parameters and postoperative BCVA and CMT.RESULTS: This study enrolled 30 patients(60 eyes)diagnosed with IMEM, comprising 14 males and 16 females, with a mean age of 65.4±10.8 y.At baseline, IMEM-affected eyes demonstrated significantly reduced BCVA, DCP density, and FAZ area, alongside significantly increased CMT and CCPA, compared with contralateral controls. Following vitrectomy with membrane peeling, CMT decreased significantly at both 1 and 3 mo(both P<0.05)postoperatively; DCP density and BCVA showed significant improvement(both P<0.05). No significant change in FAZ area was observed postoperatively(P>0.05). At 3 mo postoperatively, BCVA of the affected eye was negatively correlated with CMT(r=-0.549, P=0.022). At 1 mo postoperatively, CMT was negatively correlated with preoperative DCP and FAZ, positively correlated with preoperative CMT, and positively correlated with ICP and SCP at 1 mo postoperatively, and negatively correlated with FAZ at 1 mo postoperatively(all P<0.05). Furthermore, CMT at 3 mo postoperatively was negatively correlated with preoperative DCP(r=-0.498,P=0.042).CONCLUSION:In patients with IMEM, the affected eyes exhibit significantly reduced DCP density and FAZ area, alongside increased CMT and CCPA. Following vitrectomy with membrane peeling, CMT decreased progressively, DCP density demonstrated partial restoration, and vision improved gradually. Preoperatively, smaller CMT larger DCP, and FAZ were associated with more favorable surgical outcomes; postoperatively, smaller ICP and SCP densities—combined with a larger FAZ—also correlated with better functional recovery.

China Pharmacy 2026;37(10):1376-1380
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is an age-related neurodegenerative disorder. Marrow-sea insufficiency serves as the fundamental basis for the onset of AD. Early syndrome differentiation-based intervention helps to delay disease progression, and improve patients’ cognitive function. Qifu yin is a representative specialized prescription for AD with marrow-sea insufficiency syndrome. Studies demonstrate that Qifu yin exerts neuroprotective effects through multiple pathways, including inhibiting the abnormal deposition of amyloid β -protein and hyperphosphorylation of tau protein, alleviating neuroinflammation, regulating oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction, modulating the cholinergic system, and improving synaptic plasticity. Qifu yin combined with Western medicine such as donepezil, memantine, and butylphthalide, or combined with external therapies such as acupuncture, can effectively improve cognitive function and activities of daily living in AD patients with favorable safety. Future research should focus on the core pathogenesis and key targets of AD with marrow-sea insufficiency syndrome, provide in-depth elucidation of the scientific connotation of Qifu yin’s “tonifying the kidney to produce marrow”, and further conduct high-quality clinical studies to provide scientific evidence for the prevention and treatment of AD with marrow-sea insufficiency syndrome.

ObjectiveCardiovascular diseases pose a major public health challenge in China. The burden of cardiovascular disease associated with high low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) has increased steadily nationwide. A comprehensive analysis of secular trends in cardiovascular disease burden and its determinants is crucial for developing targeted interventions and evidence-based health policies. MethodsBased on data from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021, we analyzed the trends in deaths, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), age-standardized mortality rates (ASMR), and age-standardized DALY rates (ASDR) of cardiovascular diseases attributable to high LDL-C in China from 1990 to 2021 using Joinpoint regression analysis. An age-period-cohort model was applied to assess the contributions of age, period, and cohort effects to changes in the cardiovascular disease burden attributable to high LDL-C. Projections of the high LDL-C-attributable cardiovascular disease burden in China from 2022 to 2030 were generated using a Bayesian age-period-cohort model. ResultsBetween 1990 and 2021, China saw a substantial rise in both deaths and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) from cardiovascular disease linked to high LDL-C. Joinpoint regression revealed key turning points in this trend: an overall increase continued until 2004, after which the burden began to fall starting in 2011. Throughout this period, age-standardized mortality and DALY rates were consistently higher in males than in females. Age-period-cohort analysis further indicated that mortality and DALY rates due to high LDL-C increased almost exponentially with age, while period and cohort risks generally decreased over time. Projections suggest a continued decline in age-standardized mortality rates from LDL-C-related cardiovascular disease for both Chinese men and women by 2030. ConclusionRapid population growth and accelerated ageing in China emerge as primary drivers of the escalating cardiovascular diseases burden linked to elevated LDL-C. The burden of cardiovascular diseases is higher in men compared to women. By 2030, the burden of cardiovascular disease caused by high LDL-C in China will remain severe. These findings underscore the critical need for gender-specific screening protocols, age-tailored interventions, and personalized management frameworks to mitigate this public health challenge.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2025;46(6):847-851
Objective:
To analyze the current status and influencing factors of psychological crisis among college students, so as to provide a scientific basis for the formulation of psychological crisis intervention plans in colleges and universities.
Methods:
From September to December 2024, 645 college students from a medical undergraduate university in Heilongjiang Province were selected with a convenience sampling method. A convergent mixed analysis design was used. Quantitative analysis was conducted using College Students Psychological Crisis Screening Scale, Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, Short-Egna Minnen av Barndoms Uppfostran and Perceived School Climate Scale. Binary Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the related factors of psychological crisis among college students. Qualitative research was conducted on 15 college students with psychological crisis identified in the quantitative analysis by a purposive sampling method. The interview data were organized and analyzed using the thematic framework analysis method.
Results:
Among the surveyed college students, 92 (14.3%) had psychological crisis. Binary Logistic regression analysis results showed that positive parenting style ( OR=0.97,95%CI =0.95-0.99), negative parenting style ( OR=1.01,95%CI =1.00-1.02), cognitive reappraisal ( OR=0.88, 95%CI =0.83-0.92), expressive suppression ( OR=1.08, 95%CI =1.02-1.15), and perceived campus atmosphere ( OR=0.97, 95%CI =0.95-0.98) were all related factors of psychological crisis among college students ( P <0.05). The qualitative analysis results showed that there were three themes for the influencing factors of college students psychological crisis, including differential impact of emotion regulation strategies on psychological state, shaping of psychological state of college students by family and bidirectional effect of perceived campus atmosphere on psychological state. Mixed analysis results showed that the influencing factors of college students psychological crisis were consistent in terms of emotion regulation strategies, and were expansive in terms of parenting style and perceived campus atmosphere.
Conclusion
Schools and mental health service departments can reduce the risk of psychological crisis by optimizing cognitive reappraisal and reducing expressive suppression, improve the level of psychological crisis by strengthening positive family interaction and blocking negative parenting style, and maintain the mental health level of college students by building a supportive campus environment and alleviating high pressure.

Objective To understand the current situation of nutrition literacy of primary and secondary school students in Shijingshan District of Beijing, and analyze its influencing factors, and to put forward targeted suggestions for improving the students’ nutrition literacy and promoting their healthy growth. Methods A multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method was used to select 2480 primary and secondary school students and their parents from 5 primary schools, 3 middle schools and 1 high school in Shijingshan District. The multivariate logistic regression model was used to analyze the factors influencing the attainment rate of nutrition literacy. Results The median score of nutrition literacy of 2480 primary and secondary school students from grades 1 to 12 was 77.86 (in hundred-mark system), the quartile range (IQR) was 16.96, and the attainment rate of nutrition literacy was 42.46%. The cognitive level (45.12%) was higher than the skill level (41.20%) among students from grades 3 to 12. In terms of skills, the attainment rate of food preparation was the lowest, at 30.38%. The scores of nutrition literacy of girls were higher than those of boys, and the scores of primary school students were higher than those of secondary school students. Students with different levels of caregiver’s education, family income, and family food environment had different scores of nutrition literacy, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the attainment rate of nutrition literacy was closely related to student’s gender and study stage, caregiver’s education level, and family food environment. Conclusion The nutrition literacy of primary and secondary school students in Shijingshan District still needs to be improved, especially in the aspect of skills. Targeted nutrition education should be carried out.

Objective:To identify the bacteria isolated from sepsis patients in a tertiary hospital in Shanghai and analyze their antimicrobial resistance features. Methods:This study included 439 patients with clinically diagnosed sepsis who underwent microbiological culture in a tertiary hospital in Shanghai from July 2021 to October 2024. Results of microbiological culture and antimicrobial susceptibility testing were retrospectively collected and analyzed. Differences between groups were analyzed using Chi-square test and Fisher′s exact test. Results:The positive rate of microbiological culture was 49.0% (215/439). The positive rate of blood culture was 24.1% (93/386) and 100 strains were isolated from the samples, including 57 Gram-negative bacteria (57.0%). The predominant isolates in blood samples were Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and coagulase-negative staphylococci. The positive rate of bacterial culture from bronchoalveolar lavage fluid samples was 84.1% (37/44), with Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa being the predominant strains. The positive rate of bacterial culture from urine samples was 35.6% (127/357), with Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Enterococcus faecium being the most common. Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterococcus faecium, coagulase-negative staphylococci, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Acinetobacter baumannii exhibited high resistance rates to fluoroquinolones [46.8% (29/62)-97.0% (32/33)]. The resistance rates of Acinetobacter baumannii to most commonly used antibiotics were >80.0%. The resistance rates of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae to the third-generation cephalosporins ranged from 41.8% (28/67) to 66.0% (31/47). Carbapenem resistance was observed in 38.1% (24/63)-40.3% (25/62) of Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates, and most of the isolates from bronchoalveolar lavage fluid samples showed a higher resistance rate than those from blood or urine samples ( P<0.05). Conclusions:The positive rate of bacterial culture is nearly 50% in this study, with Gram-negative bacteria being the most common. Six major pathogenic bacteria exhibit high resistance rates to fluoroquinolones. Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates have high resistance rates to the third-generation cephalosporins and carbapenems, with significant differences in the resistance rate between isolates from different samples, and it should be cautious to choose the third-generation cephalosporins and carbapenems in clinical practice.
