Objective To determine the knee joint cartilage thickness using different methods and explore the feasibility of mathematical statistical models of dataset for the prediction of cartilage thickness. Methods A total of 304 patients diagnosed as knee osteoarthritis(OA)combined with varus deformity and undergoing unilateral total knee arthroplasty at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Army Medical University from March 2023 to March 2024 were selected for the study. All patients had complete preoperative and postoperative clinical data. The healthy cartilage at four anatomical sites of patients, including the distal femur lateral condyle, lateral tibial plateau, posterior medial femoral condyle, and posterior lateral femoral condyle were selected, and the knee joint cartilage thickness was determined based on preoperative MRI analysis, robotic navigation system tracing, tissue section of surgical specimen and digital vernier caliper. The baseline indicators of demographics, disease and imaging ffor patients were collected to construct a dataset, and four models of linear regression analysis, principal component analysis,Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator(LASSO)regression analysis, and K-nearest neighbors(KNN)analysis were established for predicting the accuracy, determination coefficient(R2)and root mean square error(RMSE),and the regression equation for predicting cartilage thickness was established. Results The knee joint cartilage thicknesses determined by preoperative MRI analysis, robotic navigation system tracing, tissue section of surgical specimen had no statistically significant difference with that by digital vernier caliper(P>0.05).The predictive efficiencies of models of linear regression analysis, principal component analysis, and LASSO regression analysis for the knee joint cartilage thickness all failed to meet the expectations(R2<0.3,RMSE>0.03).The predictive effect of KNN model on the cartilage thickness of the distal femur lateral condyle and lateral tibial plateau was not ideal(R2=0.23,RMSE=0.29),while it had potential predictive value(accuracy=0.21,accuracy=0.15).Conclusion The prediction model of knee joint cartilage thickness based on individual parameters has certain scientificity, and the feasibility of KNN model is relatively high. However, due to insufficient sample size and unclear individual parameter weight, the efficiencies of the four established prediction models are not ideal, which fails to provide definite prediction equations. Therefore, the construction scheme of the prediction model still needs to be further optimized.

Objective:To explore the prognostic factors of seroma after endoscopic thyroidectomy by breast ap-proach,and construct a nomogram to predict the possibility of cervical seroma. Methods:Data of patients undergoing endoscopic thyroid surgery in Dongguan Tungwah Hospital from January 2022 to May 2024 and Dongguan Songshan Lake Tungwah Hospital from May 2023 to August 2024 were retrospectively analyzed, and 1493 patients meeting the in-clusion criteria were selected.Among them, there were 1048 patients in Dongguan Tungwah Hospital as the training co-hort,1015 patients without seroma group and 33 patients with seroma group. There were 445 patients in Dongguan Songshan Lake Tungwah Hospital as the verification cohort, including 424 patients without seroma and 21 patients with seroma.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to obtain relevant independent prognostic factors, and R soft-ware established a nomogram model.Calibration curves,Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness of fit,ROC curves were used to evaluate the calibrability of the nomogram model, and clinical utility was assessed by clinical decision curves. Results:Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that central lymph node dissection, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, and nod-ule size were independent prognostic factors related to seroma.Based on the prognostic factors, the nomogram of se-roma after ETBA was constructed. The calibration curves of the training and the verification group were in good agree-ment with the observed results, and the Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness of fit test was good, with the training cohort P=0.244 and the verification cohort P=0.803.The ROC curve of the training cohort showed that the area under the curve was 0.810(95%CI:0.740~0.879),and the ROC curve of the verification cohort showed that the area under the curve was 0.815(95%CI:0.722~0.909).Conclusion:The nomogram model based on the relevant prognostic factors ob-tained by multivariate logistic regression analysis has a good prediction effect on the seroma after ETBA,and can provide reasonable and individualized treatment plan for patients.

Bovine rotavirus(BRV)is an important pathogen causing diarrhea in calves. To understand the genomic charac-teristics and genetic variations in bovine rotavirus, and to further enrich data on the biological characteristics of rotavirus,we aimed to amplify 11 gene segments of the isolated and cultured G6P[1]bovine rotavirus BLL strain, perform whole genome se-quencing,and analyze the molecular characteristics.MEGA7.0 and DNAMAN software were used for homology and typing a-nalysis,and the whole genome phylogenetic tree was constructed to analyze genetic evolution relationships. The complete geno-type of the BLL strain was G6-P[1]-I2-R2-C2-M2-A3-N2-T6-E2-H3.Phylogenetic analysis of the VP7 and VP4 genes of the BLL strain showed that the VP7 gene had the highest homology with RVA/Cow-wt/HB01/China/2021,and the VP4 gene of the BLL strain was in the same branch as RVA/Human-tc/ISR/Ro8059/1995.From the sequence alignment of VP8*amino acids, the sialic acid domain of the BLL strain was found to be similar to that in other P[1]strains,but different from those in other types of strains, except for residue 189,which was the same as that in Ro8059 but different from that in other strains. The results suggested that the BLL strain might potentially infect humans. Therefore, continued monitoring and study of the biological characteristics of this strain are necessary to provide more information and evidence supporting further research on the cross-species transmission of group A rotavirus in China.

This article reports the clinical features and gene mutation types of a large family with Nascimento form of syndromic X-linked intellectual developmental disorder (MRXSN), involving 9 individuals across 3 generations, and a literature review was conducted. In this family, 9 individuals had similar manifestations including mental retardation and unusual facies, and 4 of them had passed away. Genetic testing showed that the proband had the deletion of exons 2-3 of the UBE2A gene, which was inherited from the mother. Fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction showed that the proband and his uncle had the deletion of exons 2-3 of the UBE2A gene; the proband's mother, grandmother, and great-aunt had a heterozygous deletion of exons 2-3 of the UBE2A gene; the proband's father, sister, and aunt had a normal copy number of exons 2-3 of the UBE2A gene. The 34 patients reported in the literature had diverse clinical phenotypes, and UBE2A gene mutations (22/34, 65%) and large fragment deletions (12/34, 35%) were the main mutation types. Moderate to severe mental retardation (34/34, 100%), speech and language impairment (33/34, 97%), and unusual facies (32/34, 94%) were the main clinical manifestations of MRXSN patients. The disease has obvious phenotypic heterogeneity, and early diagnosis facilitates optimal prenatal and postnatal management to improve reproductive outcomes.

This study systematically reviewed the literature on the prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer(CRC) with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM), aiming to present a more intuitive and concise overview of existing evidence. Four major Chinese databases, including CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, and SinoMed, were searched for randomized controlled trial(RCT) on TCM treatment of CRC. The retrieval period was from database inception to August 1, 2023. The evidence was presented using a combination of text and charts. A total of 1 778 RCTs were included, and the overall publication volume showed an upward trend. The quality of the RCT was generally low, with sample sizes concentrated between 60 and 100 cases. The intervention durations were mainly 4, 8, and 12 weeks. Keywords primarily focused on advanced CRC, postoperative CRC, immune function, and gastrointestinal function. Clinical complications were often caused by surgery or chemotherapy, including intestinal obstruction, peripheral neuropathy, diarrhea, and anxiety and depression. There were various intervention measures, including TCM decoctions, TCM injections, Chinese medicine nursing, Chinese patent medicines, and acupuncture. Among them, TCM decoctions(excluding self-made prescriptions) included Shenling Baizhu Powder(32 articles, 1.80%) and Sijunzi Decoction(22 articles, 1.24%). TCM injections included Fufang Kushen Injection(54 articles, 3.04%) and Aidi Injection(46 articles, 2.59%). Chinese patent medicines included Cinobufacin Capsules(16 articles, 0.90%) and Fufang Banmao Capsules(10 articles, 0.56%). The outcome indicators were divided into 13 domains, including recent efficacy, quality of life, safety events, and TCM syndrome/symptom scores. The existing outcome indicators mostly followed the western medicine evaluation system, with complex types and no unified standards, lacking outcome indicators or scales with TCM characteristics, and relatively insufficient attention to long-term efficacy, anxiety, and depression. Future research should optimize clinical study designs, build a core index set and clinical evaluation system with TCM characteristics, and produce more high-level evidence to support the safety and effectiveness of TCM in preventing and treating CRC.
