This study aims to explore whether Guzheng playing training has a positive impact on the brain functional state of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) based on power spectral and sample entropy analyses. Eight ASD participants were selected to undergo four months of Guzheng playing training, with one month as a training cycle. Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals and behavioral data were collected for comparative analysis. The results showed that after Guzheng playing training, the relative power of the alpha band in the occipital lobe of ASD children increased, and the relative power of the theta band in the parietal lobe decreased. The differences compared with typically developing (TD) children were narrowed. Moreover, some channels exhibited a gradual increase or decrease in power with the extended training period. Meanwhile, the sample entropy parameter also showed a similar upward trend, which was consistent with the behavioral data representation. The study shows that Guzheng training can enhance the brain function of ASD patients, with better effects from longer training. Guzheng playing training could be used as a daily intervention for autism.

2.Analysis of the safety and associated risk factors of rush immunotherapy in 316 patients with allergic rhinitis

Objective:To assess the safety and to identify risk factors associated with systemic adverse effects (SAEs) during the dose-escalation phase of rush immunotherapy (RIT) in patients with allergic rhinitis (AR).Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted in 316 house dust mite-allergic patients diagnosed with AR who underwent RIT at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University between February 2012 and August 2024, including 206 males and 110 females aging from 5 to 58 years old. The number of patients experiencing SAEs, the frequency of SAE incidents, and the severity grades of SAEs during the dose-escalation phase were analyzed. Associations between SAE occurrence and 19 potential factors, including demographic characteristics, serological parameters, and pulmonary function parameters, were investigated. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 26.0.Results:Among the 316 patients, 4 358 RIT injections were administered during the dose-escalation phase. SAEs occurred in 45 patients (14.24%, 45/316), accounting for 57 distinct SAE incidents. The SAE incidence rate per injection was 1.31%. Of the 57 SAEs, 34 (59.65%) were Grade Ⅰ, 5 (8.77%) were Grade Ⅱ, and 18 (31.58%) were Grade Ⅲ. No Grade Ⅳ or Ⅴ SAEs were observed. SAE occurrence demonstrated significant associations with: age ( Z=-2.73, P=0.006), body mass index (BMI; t=4.08, P<0.001), skin prick test reaction intensity ( χ2=10.34, P=0.006), eosinophil count ( Z=-2.19, P=0.028), eosinophil percentage ( Z=-2.59, P=0.010), forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV?; Z=-2.04, P=0.042), peak expiratory flow (PEF; Z=-2.44, P=0.015). Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified BMI as an independent risk factor for SAEs ( OR=0.86; 95% CI: 0.75-0.99; P=0.034). Conclusions:During the RIT dose-escalation phase for house dust mite-allergic AR patients, the incidence of SAEs was approximately 1.31% per injection. SAEs were predominantly mild (Grade Ⅰ), consistent with a favorable overall safety profile. BMI was identified as a statistically significant risk factor for SAE occurrence.
3.Construction and application of a quality control and improvement system for metabolic and bariatric surgery in Beijing

Objective:To establish and assess the quality control and improvement system for metabolic and bariatric surgery in Beijing.Methods:Based on relevant documents from the National Health Commission and the Beijing Municipal Health Commission,and referencing the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery,a quality control system was developed under the Beijing Quality Control and Improvement Center of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. The system incorporated on-site evaluations,data registration,and specialized training. From May to December 2023,on-site assessments were conducted at 21 hospitals in Beijing performing bariatric surgery,evaluating personnel qualifications,infrastructure,clinical workflows,and postoperative follow-up. A quality control database was created to collect real-time surgical data,and training was provided for data entry and professional skills. Assessment results were classified as excellent,qualified,or needing improvement,with rectification suggestions offered and follow-up visits conducted to track progress.Results:All 21 hospitals achieved a 100% compliance rate for surgical indications, 16 (76.2%) met standardized surgical operation criteria,and 14 (66.7%) had standardized postoperative management. However,only 5 (23.8%) achieved a 12-month postoperative follow-up rate of ≥60%,and 4 (19.1%) had established specialized databases. Key challenges included insufficient specialized staffing (19.1%), lack of multidisciplinary collaboration (47.6%), inadequate equipment (57.1%), and low follow-up rates (57.1%). The database collected data from over 2 000 patients across 111 fields. After rectification, specialized database coverage rose to 61.9% (13 hospitals). Multi-level training programs developed backbone physicians and specialized nurses,significantly addressing the shortage of specialized personnel.Conclusion:The quality control system established in this study,through the integration of on-site evaluation,data registration,and specialized training,effectively enhances the standardization of surgical practices and data management capabilities.

BACKGROUND:
Spicy food consumption has been reported to be inversely associated with mortality from multiple diseases. However, the effect of spicy food intake on the incidence of vascular diseases in the Chinese population remains unclear. This study was conducted to explore this association.
METHODS:
This study was performed using the large-scale China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB) prospective cohort of 486,335 participants. The primary outcomes were vascular disease, ischemic heart disease (IHD), major coronary events (MCEs), cerebrovascular disease, stroke, and non-stroke cerebrovascular disease. A Cox proportional hazards regression model was used to assess the association between spicy food consumption and incident vascular diseases. Subgroup analysis was also performed to evaluate the heterogeneity of the association between spicy food consumption and the risk of vascular disease stratified by several basic characteristics. In addition, the joint effects of spicy food consumption and the healthy lifestyle score on the risk of vascular disease were also evaluated, and sensitivity analyses were performed to assess the reliability of the association results.
RESULTS:
During a median follow-up time of 12.1 years, a total of 136,125 patients with vascular disease, 46,689 patients with IHD, 10,097 patients with MCEs, 80,114 patients with cerebrovascular disease, 56,726 patients with stroke, and 40,098 patients with non-stroke cerebrovascular disease were identified. Participants who consumed spicy food 1-2 days/week (hazard ratio [HR] = 0.95, 95% confidence interval [95% CI] = [0.93, 0.97], P <0.001), 3-5 days/week (HR = 0.96, 95% CI = [0.94, 0.99], P = 0.003), and 6-7 days/week (HR = 0.97, 95% CI = [0.95, 0.99], P = 0.002) had a significantly lower risk of vascular disease than those who consumed spicy food less than once a week ( Ptrend <0.001), especially in those who were younger and living in rural areas. Notably, the disease-based subgroup analysis indicated that the inverse associations remained in IHD ( Ptrend = 0.011) and MCEs ( Ptrend = 0.002) risk. Intriguingly, there was an interaction effect between spicy food consumption and the healthy lifestyle score on the risk of IHD ( Pinteraction = 0.037).
CONCLUSIONS
Our findings support an inverse association between spicy food consumption and vascular disease in the Chinese population, which may provide additional dietary guidance for the prevention of vascular diseases.

8.Influence of morphological evaluation parameters of blastocysts on chromosomal karyotype abnormalities of chorionic villi in missed abortion after IVF/ICSI treatment

Objective:Analyzing the influence of morphological evaluation parameters of blastocysts, including days of blastocyst development [day 5 (D5) and day 6 (D6)], degree of blastocyst expansion (4, 5, 6), inner cell mass and trophectoderm grade, on the occurrence of chromosomal karyotype abnormalities of chorionic villi in missed abortion after in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF/ICSI) treatment and fresh/frozen-thawed single blastocyst transfer. Methods:The clinical data of patients with missed abortion after IVF/ICSI treatment and fresh/frozen-thawed single blastocyst transfer from February 2015 to February 2023 in the Reproductive Center of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University were included. Using a case-control study, the data were divided into two groups according to the detection results of chromosomal copy number variations (CNVs) in chorionic villi of missed abortion abnormal karyotype group ( n=139) and normal karyotype group ( n=82). The baseline data between the two groups were compared. Univariate logistic regression was used to investigate the effect of blastocyst morphological rating parameters on the occurrence of chromosomal karyotype abnormalities of chorionic villi in aborted tissues, and multivariate logistic regression was also used to adjust confounding factors. Results:Male age [(34.12±6.49) years], sperm morphology rate [5.00 (4.00,6.00)%] and female age [33.00 (30.00, 37.00) years] in abnormal karyotype group were higher than those in the normal karyotype group [(32.38±4.69) years, 4.00 (2.00,5.00)% and 31.50 (29.00,34.00) years], and the differences were statistically significant ( P=0.022, P=0.020, P=0.009). Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses showed that days of blastocyst development, degree of blastocyst expansion, inner cell mass and trophectoderm grade did not increase the risk of chromosomal karyotype abnormalities of chorionic villi (all P>0.05). Conclusion:There is no significant correlation between blastocyst morphological evaluation parameters and chromosomal karyotype abnormalities in chorionic villi of missed abortion after fresh/frozen-thawed single blastocyst transfer with IVF/ICSI treatment.

10.A meta-analysis on endoscopic ultrasound-guided lumen-apposing metal stents placement combined with double-pigtail plastic stents in treatment of pancreatic fluid collection

Objective:To compare the efficacy of endoscopic ultrasound-guided (EUS) placement of lumen-apposing metal stent (LAMS) with a coaxial double pigtail plastic stent (DPPS) versus LAMS drainage in the treatment of pancreatic fluid collection (PFC).Methods:"Pancreatic fluid collection, walled-off pancreatic necrosis, pancreatic pseudocyst, lumen-apposing metal stents, double pigtail plastic stent" were used as keywords for research search, and the network database such as PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library and SinoMed were searched from database establishment to October 2023. Papers on prospective and retrospective cohort studies of EUS-guided LAMS alone and LAMS combined with DPPS (LAMS+DPPS) for the treatment of PFC were searched. All the papers searched were screened and the quality was evaluated according to preset inclusion and exclusion criteria; and the important data were extracted. Metaanalysis was performed using RevMan5.4 and STATA/MP 18.0 software.Results:A total of 7 papers with 533 patients were included. Among them, 260 patients received LAMS, and 273 patients received LAMS+DPPS. The results of metaanalysis showed that the overall risk of adverse events and the risk of stent occlusion were significantly lower in the LAMS+DPPS group than in the LAMS group ( RR=0.66, 95% CI 0.48-0.91; RR=0.55, 95% CI 0.31-0.99, both P values ≤0.05); however, in terms of technical success, clinical success, stent migration, bleeding, infection, and perforation, the difference on the risk of adverse events in the LAMS group and the LAMS+DPPS group were not statistically significant ( RR=1.01, 95% CI 0.98-1.04; RR=1.01, 95% CI 0.91-1.13; RR=0.87, 95% CI 0.41-1.84; RR=0.96, 95% CI 0.50~1.85; RR=0.47, 95% CI 0.20-1.06; RR=0.42, 95% CI 0.06-2.76; all P values >0.05); Conclusions:Compared with LAMS alone, LAMS+DPPS can significantly reduce stent occlusion risk as well as overall risk of adverse events, and it has more advantages than LAMS for the treatment of PFC.
