Objective To investigate the safety, economic benefits and psychological effects of day breast conserving surgery for breast cancer. Methods The demographic data and clinical data of breast cancer patients undergoing day (day surgery group) and ward (ward surgery group) breast conserving surgeries in West China Hospital of Sichuan University from March 2020 to June 2021 were retrospectively collected; the demographic data, clinical data, medical and related transportation costs, and preoperative and postoperative BREAST-Q scores of breast cancer patients undergoing day (day surgery group) and ward (ward surgery group) breast conserving surgery in West China Hospital of Sichuan University from June 2021 to June 2022 were prospectively collected. The safety, economic benefit, and psychological satisfaction of day surgery was analyzed. Results A total of 42 women with breast cancer were included in the retrospective study and 39 women with breast cancer were included in the prospective study. In both prospective and retrospective studies, the mean age of patients in both groups were <50 years. There were only statistical differences between the two groups in the aspects of hypertension (P=0.022), neoadjuvant chemotherapy (P=0.037) and postoperative pathological estrogen receptor (P=0.033) in the prospective study. In postoperative complications, there were no statistical differences in the surgical-related complications or anesthesia-related complications between the two groups in either the prospective study or the retrospective study (P>0.05). In terms of the overall cost, we found that the day surgery group was more economical than the ward surgery group in the prospective study (P=0.002). There were no statistical differences in postoperative psychosocical well-being, sexual well-being, satisfaction with breasts or chest condition between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion It is safe and reliable to carry out breast conserving surgery in day surgery center under strict management standards, which can save medical costs and will not cause great psychological burden to patients.

Chinese Journal of Radiation Oncology 2025;34(9):954-958
Compared with conventional photon radiotherapy, particle therapy offers distinct dosimetric advantages. Its unique dose distribution can effectively reduce damage to surrounding normal tissues and achieve a more conformal dose delivery. However, in clinical practice, uncertainties during the treatment process may diminish these advantages. The Compton camera, a novel γ-ray imaging technology, detects γ-rays of specific energies generated during particle therapy and thus holds promise for in vivo range verification, ultimately enabling real-time dose monitoring in particle therapy. This review begins with the imaging principles of Compton cameras and then provides an overview of current research progress in proton therapy, heavy-ion therapy, and boron neutron capture therapy.

Objective Based on multi-dimensional bioinformatics technology, the molecular pathological mechanism of acute hypotension is systematically analyzed. Methods Integrate the gene expression profile of the Gene Expression Omnibus database(GSE2401),use limma package(R software)to screen differential genes, and optimize targets through data dimensionality reduction(log2(FC)>1,P<0.05);Further combine Gene Ontology,Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes and gene set enrichment analysis pathway enrichment and STRING-Cytoscape(MCODE,CytoHubba plug-in)to build a protein-protein interaction(PPI)network to mine core genes;realize the full-chain analysis of"differential gene-functional pathway-PPI network".Results 676 differential genes(304 upregulated,372 downregulated),ribosome structural components(Rps8,Rps27,Rpl35,etc.)and multiple pathways such as forkhead box protein and cyclic adenosine monophosphate were found to coordinate the regulation of acute hypotension. Conclusion This study uses a low-cost and efficient bioinformatics analysis framework to reveal the association between ribosomal dysfunction, changes in insulin signal efficacy and blood pressure regulation, providing new ideas for targeted therapy.

Objective To survey the awareness and intended adoption of patient-based real-time quality control(PBRTQC)among medical laboratories, thereby providing a basis for subsequent research and promotion efforts. Methods An electronic questionnaire was distributed via the Questionnaire Star system to collect participants' general information, their knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding PBRTQC,as well as their implementation willingness. Results A total of 161 valid questionnaires were collected. The sur-vey revealed that fewer than 50%of laboratory staff had basic knowledge of PBRTQC,and their confidence in establishing and applying PBRTQC in their own laboratories was low. However, they acknowledged its potential to enhance quality management.Key concerns and support needs for PBRTQC promotion include professional implementation guidelines and policy support, reliable third-party evalu-ations,software and hardware support, and user training. Conclusion The laboratory staff accepted the value of PBRTQC and gener-ally held a positive attitude toward its application.Future efforts should focus on developing standardized guidelines, refining evaluation methods, advancing software and hardware, and enhancing knowledge dissemination, technical training and other actions related to guiding the practical implementation thereby facilitating the wider adoption of PBRTQC.

Objective:To explore the effect of non-invasive intervention on preventing maternal breast tenderness, and to provide references for clinicians to select the optimal non-invasive intervention for the prevention of maternal breast tenderness. Methods:Literature focused on the effect of different non-invasive interventions to prevent maternal breast tenderness by randomized controlled trials design was searched in the databases, including China National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP, Wanfang, SinoMed, PubMed, Web of Science, Embase and Cochrane Library, from inception to April 8, 2024. Two researchers independently screened the literature, extracted the data and evaluated the quality of the literature. Stata 16.0 was used to conduct a network Meta-analysis.Results:A total of 21 studies involving 2 298 women, covering 5 non-invasive interventions (low-frequency pulse electrotherapy, breast massage combined with low-frequency pulse electrotherapy, breast massage and acupoint massage, breast massage and acupoint massage combined with ear point pressure bean, breast massage and acupoint massage combined with external application of Chinese medicine). The network meta-analysis results showed that, compared with routine care, five non-invasive interventions had statistically significant differences in reducing the incidence of maternal breast tenderness ( OR values ranging from 0.20 to 0.39, all P<0.05). Breast massage combined with low-frequency pulse electrotherapy ranked first in terms of effectiveness on preventing of breast tenderness. Conclusions:All five non-invasive interventions are effective on preventing maternal breast tenderness, with breast massage combined with low-frequency pulse electrotherapy being the most effective.
