Depression, one of the most prevalent mental health disorders, has emerged as a critical focus in medical and neurobiological research, as well as a major challenge for global public health. The immune-inflammatory hypothesis has been confirmed to play a pivotal role in the pathogenesis and pathophysiology of depression, though its precise mechanisms remain to be fully elucidated. This article reviews the effects of key inflammatory factors, including tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-1β, interleukin-6, and Toll-like receptors on depression. Additionally, it summarizes the effects of immune-inflammatory pathway invovled in the pathogenesis of depression, along with scientific clues related to inflammatory factors in this pathway. Findings from this review will provide new insights for antidepressant development and serve as a reference for evaluating the clinical efficacy of antidepressants.

Objective To design and evaluate the clinical application efficacy of a novel bilateral-separation endotracheal tube fixation device and provide references for clinical practice.Methods Using convenient sampling,60 patients from the Neurological Intensive Care Unit of a tertiary-level hospital in Zhengzhou were selected from May to December 2024.Patients were randomly divided into an experimental group(n=30)and a control group(n=30).The experimental group utilized the novel bilateral-separation endotracheal tube fixation device,while the control group employed traditional bandage fixation methods.Differences in fixation time,tube displacement,and intubation duration were compared between the 2 groups.Results The experimental group demonstrated significantly shorter tube fixation times compared to the control group(P＜0.05).However,no statistically significant differences were observed between the groups regarding intubation duration and tube displacement(P＞0.05).Conclusion The novel bilateral-separation endotracheal tube fixation device can reduce tube fixation time for patients in neurological intensive care and enhance nurse satisfaction.Despite not showing advantages in preventing tube displacement,the device still presents promising potential for broad clinical application.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a metabol-ic disease characterized by high blood sugar levels.Traditionally,amino acids are primarily viewed as the basic building blocks for proteins and peptide synthesis.However,in recent years,amino acids have gained increased attention as signaling mole-cules that play crucial roles in the maintenance and regulation of metabolic homeostasis.It has been found that there is a close correlation between the metabolism of branched-chain and/or aromatic amino acids and the occurrence or development of type 2 diabetes mellitus.Furthermore,there have been successive reports on the regulation mecha-nism involved.This article will focus on the meta-bolic processes,mechanisms and clinical value of branched-chain and aromatic amino acids in type 2 diabetes mellitus.It will also summarize and pro-vide an outlook on the current state of amino acid metabolism in the treatment of diabetes mellitus,with the aim of offering new ideas for the treat-ment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Intellectual disability (ID) is a kind of neurodevelopmental disorder with high clinical and genetic heterogeneity, which seriously endangers the physical and mental health of children. Its etiology is complex, many genetic and environmental factors can participate in the pathogenesis, and metabolic disorders are one of the important etiology. Targeted assays such as plasma amino acids and acylcarnitine and urinary organic acids are of limited use in helping to diagnose and manage these patients. Non-targeted metabolomics has become a tool to explore changes in the metabolites of organisms and a means to study possible biomarkers of such diseases. In recent years, metabolomics technology has made some progress in the etiology and mechanism of ID, providing new ideas and methods for its early recognition, treatment and improvement of prognosis. This paper reviews the progress of non-targeted metabolomics in ID.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the establishment and promotion of a new standardized management model for anti-osteoporosis medication after fragility fracture surgery by resident clinical pharmacists,and provide references for resident pharmacists to carry out clinical pharmaceutical services.METHODS From July 2023 to March 2024,595 post-brittle fracture surgery patients were enrolled.Using the PDCA(plan-do-check-act)cycle,resident clinical pharmacists identified issues and conducted investigations in clinical practice.Through integrating clinical pharmacist intervention services before,during and after treatment,a medication treatment pathway was developed,thereby establishing a standardized management model for anti-osteoporosis treatment following fragility fracture surgery.Leveraging the National Brittle Fracture Big Data Platform(under the National Clinical Research Center for Orthopedics and Sports Rehabilitation),a dedicated data module was constructed,providing big data support to evaluate the efficacy of this pharmaceutical care model.RESULTS Continuous PDCA cycle driven improvements significantly increased the proportion of osteoporosis diagnosis(from 9%before intervention to 81%)and proportion of drug treatment(from 4%to 75%).The proportions of bone density and bone metabolism testing also rose markedly,positively impacting long-term patient outcomes.CONCLUSIONS The establishment of a standardized management model for anti-osteoporosis treatment following fragility fracture surgery by resident clinical pharmacists has enhanced clinicians'diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities for osteoporosis,ensures rational medication use in osteoporosis patients,and demonstrates significant potential for widespread adoption and application.

Objective:To explore the relationship between general demographic characteristics,inflammatory indicators,nutritional indicators,pathological data and lymph node metastasis in endometrial cancer(EC)pa-tients,and to construct and validate a model for preoperative prediction of lymph node status in endometrial canc-er patients.Methods:The preoperative clinical data of 473 patients with EC who underwent surgical treatment in the Zhu Jiang Hospital of Southern Medical University from January 2010 to April 2024 were retrospectively ana-lyzed.The independent risk factors of lymph node metastasis of endometrial cancer were screened by univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analyses,and the nomogram prediction model was constructed by R soft-ware.The performance of the model was evaluated by the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve,calibra-tion curve and clinical decision curve.Results:Menopausal status,high grade biopsy pathology,CA125 ≥24.47U/ml,systemic immune inflammatory index(SII)≥710.91,and prognostic nutritional index(PNI)＜52.90 were in-dependent risk factors for lymph node metastasis in endometrial cancer(OR＞1,P＜0.05).The nomogram model constructed based on these five factors had an AUC of 0.853 in the training set and 0.871 in the test set.The cali-bration curve fitted well,and the clinical decision curve shows a positive benefit.Conclusions:The endometrial cancer lymph node metastasis prediction model constructed based on menopausal status,biopsy pathology,CA125,SII,and PNI has good accuracy and fit,with certain clinical application value.

Objective:To investigate the repair effect of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)on interferon gamma(IFN-γ)induced ovarian granulosa cell immune injury.Methods:A model of IFN-γ-induced ovarian granulosa cell immune injury was estab-lished.KGN cells after modeling were co-cultured with human BMSCs(hBMSCs)and divided into three groups:negative control(NC)group,IFN-γ group,and BMSC group.After co-culture,cell proliferation was determined by a cell counting kit 8 assay for 3 consecu-tive days.Cell apoptosis was determined using an Annexin V-FITC apoptosis detection kit and a CytoFLEX flow cytometer.The estra-diol level and the mRNA expression levels of aromatase CYP19A1 and FSHR were measured to evaluate the hormone synthesis ability.The level of lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),mRNA expression levels of NLRP3,caspase-1(CASP1),and interleukin-1β,and protein expression levels of NLRP3,CASP1,and gasdermin-D were determined to evaluate cell pyroptosis.Results:The proliferation rate of granulosa cells in the IFN-γ group and the BMSC group was lower than that in the NC group at 24 h,48 h and 72 h,and that in the IFN-γ group was lower than that in the BMSC group(P<0.001).The number of apoptotic granulosa cells in the INF-γ group and the BMSC group was higher than that in the NC group,and that in the INF-γ group was higher than that in the BMSC group(P<0.001).The estradiol level in the INF-γ group and the BMSC group was lower than that in the NC group,and that in the INF-γ group was lower than that in the BMSC group(P<0.001).Compared with the IFN-γ group,the mRNA expression of CYP19A1 and FSHR in the BMSC group decreased(P<0.001).Compared with the IFN-γ group,the BMSC group had significantly decreased LDH level,mRNA expression levels of NLRP3 and CASP1,and protein expres-sion level of CASP1.Conclusion:hBMSCs repair the immune in-jury of KGN cells induced by IFN-γ by restoring cell proliferation,inhibiting cell apoptosis,repairing endocrine function,and reducing pyroptosis.

Objective:To describe the prevalence of myopia and pre-myopia among preschool children aged 5-6 years in ten provinces or municipalities(hereinafter referred to as province)of China,and to provide a reference for the prevention and control of myopia,and the allocation of related health re-sources.Methods:Convenience sampling was used to select preschool children aged 5-6 years from 21 cities in 10 provinces(including 8 provinces and 2 municipalities)in China.Cycloplegic autorefraction was conducted.The distribution of myopia and pre-myopia was described using frequencies and percenta-ges.The Chi-square test was used to compare the differences in the prevalence of myopia and pre-myopia between regions with different varying economic development levels and between boys and girls,with a significance level of α=0.05.Results:A total of 12 926 preschool children aged 5-6 years were sur-veyed.The myopia prevalence was 5.5％,and the overall prevalence of myopia and pre-myopia was 43.4％.Boys had higher rates of myopia and overall prevalence of myopia and pre-myopia than girls(5.7％vs.5.2％,46.4％vs.40.1％),though the difference in myopia prevalence was not statistical-ly significant.Stratified analysis by the province,there was no statistically significant differences in the prevalence of myopia between boys and girls in any province(P＞0.05),but in 8 provinces,the preva-lence of myopia in boys was slightly higher than in girls.The overall prevalence of myopia and pre-myopia in boys was higher than in girls across all the 10 provinces,with 5 provinces showing statistically signifi-cant differences(P＜0.05).The investigated areas were divided into two categories,relatively more-developed areas and relatively less-developed areas,based on per capita gross domestic product(GDP).In 6 provinces,there was no statistically significant difference in the prevalence of myopia between the two categories of areas.In 2 provinces,the prevalence was higher in relatively more-developed areas,and in 2 provinces,it was higher in relatively less-developed areas.In 4 provinces,there was no statisti-cally significant difference in the overall prevalence of myopia and pre-myopia between the two categories of areas with relatively more-developed and relatively less-developed areas.In 3 provinces,the preva-lence was higher in relatively more-developed areas,and in 3 provinces,it was higher in relatively less-developed areas.Conclusion:The prevalence of myopia and pre-myopia among preschool children aged 5-6 years is relatively high.Boys show higher overall prevalence of myopia and pre-myopia than girls,but there is no significant difference in the prevalence of myopia.There is no consistent association be-tween the level of economic development and the incidence of myopia and pre-myopia in each province.
