BackgroundAdverse childhood experiences （ACEs） are strong predictors of psychopathology across the lifespan， exerting extensive adverse effects on physical and mental health during early development. While ACEs increase the risk of childhood psychopathology， sleep quality and impair cognitive function， the early neurobiological mechanisms mediating ACE-induced cognitive impairment remain unclear. ObjectiveTo explore the association between ACEs exposure and the risk of psychopathology， sleep disorders， and cognitive function， and to examine the mediating role of the putamen volume in the relationship between ACEs and cognitive function from a neurodevelopment perspective. MethodsData were obtained from the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development （ABCD） study， comprising 10 572 children aged 9 to 10. Participants were categorized into five groups based on the cumulative score of ACEs reported by their parents and the children themselves： no-exposure group （0 types of ACEs）， the one-exposure group， the two-exposure group， the three-exposure group， and the high-risk exposure group （≥ 4 types of ACEs）. Logistic regression analysis was employed to evaluate the association between ACEs and psychopathological symptoms ［T score of the Child Behavior Checklist （CBCL） ≥ 65］. Multiple linear regression analysis was ultilized to analyze the correlations between ACEs and the scores of the Sleep Disturbance Scale for Children （SDSC）， the NIH Toolbox Cognition Battery （NIHTB-CB）， as well as the multiple structures in the cerebral cortex and subcortex. The Bootstrap method was applied to test the mediating effect of the putamen volume between ACEs and neurocognitive function. ResultsAfter adjusting for confounders， ACEs cumulative score was correlated with children's psychopathological symptoms in a dose-response manner. Compared with the no-exposed group， the high-risk exposure group had a 2.08-fold （OR=2.080， 95% CI： 1.401–3.088） increased risk of internalizing problems and a 3.13-fold （OR=3.132， 95% CI： 1.703–5.760） increased risk of externalizing problems， and the risk of conduct problems was 4.68 times that of the no-exposed group （OR=4.681， 95% CI： 2.528–8.669）. ACEs cumulative score positively predicted the total score of SDSC （β=0.080， 95% CI： 0.059–0.102）， with relatively stronger predictive effects on sleep-wake transition disorder （β=0.086， 95% CI： 0.063–0.109） and sleep onset and maintenance disorder （β=0.066， 95% CI： 0.043–0.089）. In terms of neurocognition and brain structure， ACEs cumulative score negatively predicted the overall cognitive composite score （β=-0.025， 95% CI： -0.050–-0.001）， the crystallized cognitive composite score （β=-0.035， 95% CI： -0.060–-0.010）， the volume of the left putamen nucleus （β=-0.025， 95% CI： -0.046– 0.003）， and the volume of the right putamen nucleus （β=-0.023， 95% CI： -0.044– 0.003）. The total putamen volume played a partial mediating role between ACEs and the overall cognitive composite score， the effect value was -0.002 （95% CI： -0.004–-0.001）， accounting for 7.49% of the total effect. ConclusionACEs exposure may increase the risk of psychopathological and sleep disturbances in children and may impair neurocognitive function. ObjectiveTo investigate the significance of different non-treatment thresholds or upper limits of normal （ULN） of alanine aminotransferase （ALT） in evaluating significant liver pathological injury in patients with chronic hepatitis B virus （HBV） infection， and to provide guidance for clinical diagnosis and treatment. MethodsThis study was conducted among 733 patients with chronic HBV infection who were hospitalized in Ningbo No. 2 Hospital from January 2015 to December 2023 and underwent liver biopsy and histopathological examination， and all patients had a persistent ALT level of ≤40 U/L and positive HBV DNA （>30 IU/mL）. According to the treatment threshold or ULN of ALT， the patients were divided into group 1 with 575 patients （≤35 U/L for male patients， ≤25 U/L for female patients）， group 2 with 430 patients （≤30 U/L for male patients， ≤19 U/L for female patients）， group 3 with 443 patients （≤27 U/L for male patients， ≤24 U/L for female patients）， group 4 with 446 patients （≤25 U/L）， group 5 with 158 patients （>35 U/L for male patients， >25 U/L for female patients）， and group 6 with 145 patients （>30 — ≤35 U/L for male patients， >19 — ≤25 U/L for female patients）. Groups 2， 5， and 6 were compared to analyze the severity of liver pathological injury in patients with different ALT levels and the constituent ratio of patients with significant liver pathological injury， and groups 1， 2， 3， and 4 were compared to investigate the value of different ULN or non-treatment thresholds of ALT in determining liver inflammation grade （G）， liver fibrosis stage （S）， and the treatment indication based on liver pathology. The independent-samples t test was used for comparison of normally distributed continuous data between two groups； a one-way analysis of variance was used for comparison between multiple groups， and the least significant difference t-test or the Tambane’s test was used for further comparison between two groups； the Mann-Whitney U test was used for comparison of non-normally distributed continuous data between two groups， and the Kruskal-Wallis H test was used for comparison between multiple groups and further comparison between two groups； the chi-square test or the Fisher’s exact test was used for comparison of categorical data between groups； a Ridit analysis was used for comparison of ranked data. A multivariate Logistic regression analysis （forward stepwise） was performed with whether liver pathology met the treatment indication （≥G2 and/or ≥S2） as the dependent variable and related factors with a significant impact on the dependent variable （P <0.05） as the independent variable. The receiver operating characteristic （ROC） curve was plotted， and the area under the ROC curve （AUC）， as well as sensitivity， specificity， positive predictive value， negative predictive value， positive likelihood ratio， and negative likelihood ratio， was used to assess the diagnostic value of different non-treatment thresholds of ALT. ResultsAmong the 733 patients， 259 （35.33%） had ≥G2 liver inflammation， 211 （28.79%） had ≥S2 liver fibrosis， and 306 （41.75%） had treatment indication （≥G2 and/or ≥S2）. There was a significant difference in liver inflammation grade （G0 — G4） between groups 2， 5， and 6 （χ²=22.869， P <0.001）， and there were also significant differences in the constituent ratios of patients with ≥G2 or ≥G3 liver inflammation between the three groups （χ²=21.742 and 14.921， P<0.001 and P=0.001）. There was a significant difference in liver fibrosis stage （S0 — S4） between groups 2， 5， and 6 （χ²=16.565， P<0.001）， and there were also significant differences in the constituent ratios of patients with ≥S2， ≥S3 or S4 liver fibrosis between the three groups （χ²=13.264， 13.050， and 6.260， P=0.001， 0.001， and 0.044）. There were significant differences between groups 2， 5， and 6 in the constituent ratios of patients with or without treatment indication based on liver pathology （χ²=20.728， P<0.001）. There were significant differences between groups 2， 5， and 6 in the constituent ratio of male patients （χ²=24.836， P<0.05）， age （F=5.710， P<0.05）， ALT （F=473.193， P<0.05）， aspartate aminotransferase （AST） （F=107.774， P<0.05）， ALT/AST ratio （F=40.167， P<0.05）， γ-glutamyl transpeptidase （GGT） （H=15.463， P<0.05）， aspartate aminotransferase-to-platelet ratio index （APRI） （H=63.024， P<0.05）， and LIF-5 （5 indicators for liver inflammation and fibrosis） （H=46.397， P<0.05）. In groups 1 — 4， compared with the patients without treatment indication， the patients with treatment indication had a significantly lower constituent ratio of patients with positive HBeAg， significantly lower levels of platelet count （PLT） and HBV DNA， and significantly higher age， ALT， AST， GGT， APRI， FIB-4， and LIF-5 （all P<0.05）. The Logistic regression analysis showed that age （odds ratio ［OR］=1.044， 95% confidence interval ［CI］： 1.025 — 1.063， P<0.001）， GGT （OR=1.022， 95%CI： 1.007 — 1.038， P=0.003）， and HBV DNA （OR=0.839， 95%CI： 0.765 — 0.919， P<0.001） were influencing factors for treatment indication based on liver pathology in group 1； HBeAg （OR=1.978， 95%CI： 1.269 — 3.082， P=0.003）， age （OR=1.048， 95%CI： 1.025 — 1.071， P<0.001）， GGT （OR=1.016， 95%CI： 1.001 — 1.031， P=0.041）， and PLT （OR=0.995， 95%CI： 0.991 — 1.000， P=0.049） were influencing factors in group 2； age （OR=1.040， 95%CI： 1.014 — 1.066， P=0.002）， ALT （OR=1.047， 95%CI： 1.005 — 1.092， P=0.029）， HBV DNA （OR=0.817， 95%CI： 0.736 — 0.907， P<0.001）， and LIF-5 （OR=7.382， 95%CI： 1.151 — 47.330， P=0.035） were influencing factors in group 3； age （OR=1.054， 95%CI： 1.031 — 1.077， P<0.001）， ALT （OR=1.061， 95%CI： 1.016 — 1.107， P=0.008）， and HBV DNA （OR=0.825， 95%CI： 0.743 — 0.917， P<0.001） were influencing factors in group 4. The diagnostic performance for identifying ≥G2 liver inflammation， ≥S2 liver fibrosis， and treatment indication in groups 1 — 4 had an AUC of >0.7； group 1 showed the lowest sensitivity （28.76%） and the highest specificity， positive predictive value， positive likelihood ratio， and negative likelihood ratio in judging treatment indication； group 2 had the highest sensitivity and negative predictive value and the lowest negative likelihood ratio； groups 3 and 4 had similar diagnostic indicators. ConclusionIn patients with chronic HBV infection and a persistently low ALT level， the severity of liver histopathological injury and the constituent ratio of significant liver histopathological injury decrease with the reduction in ALT level. A higher non-treatment threshold or ULN of ALT can help to identify the patients requiring treatment （with a higher specificity）， while a lower non-treatment threshold or ULN of ALT can help to identify the patients who do not require treatment （with a higher sensitivity）.

ObjectiveTo explore the potential mechanism of Erchen Decoction （二陈汤， ECD） in improving metabolic syndrome （MS） with phlegm syndrome. MethodsForty mice were randomly divided into a blank group of 10 mice and a modeling group of 30 mice. The MS model with phlegm syndrome was induced in the modeling group by high-fat diet. Thirty successfully modeled mice were randomly divided into a model group， a ECD group， and a metformin group， with 10 mice in each group. The ECD group was given 0.4 g/（kg·d） of ECD， while the metformin group was intervened with 11.1 g/（kg·d） of metformin solution， and the blank group and the model group were given 0.02 ml/（g·d） of sterilized drinking water， all by gavage， once daily for 4 weeks. Body weight， abdominal circumfe-rence， body length， Lee's index and food intake were recorded. Blood glucose and blood lipid levels including fasting blood glucose， triglycerides （TG）， total cholesterol （TC）， high-density lipoprotein cholesterol （HDL-C）， and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol （LDL-C） were measured. ELISA was used to detect serum leptin levels， while HE staining was used to observe liver pathological changes. Western Blot and q-PCR were used to detect protein and mRNA expression of hypothalamic leptin receptor （LepR）， pro melanocortin （POMC）， and neuropeptide Y （NPY） in the hypothalamus. Immunofluorescence was used to detect fluorescence expression of POMC and NPY in the hypothalamic arcuate nucleus region. ResultsPathological results showed that the mice in the model group had numerous fat vacuoles in hepatocytes and significant liver fat deposition， while the ECD and metformin groups showed reduced fat vacuoles and less liver fat deposition. Compared to those in the blank group， the mice in the model group mice showed liver fat deposition， increased body weight， abdominal circumference， Lee's index and food intake； fasting blood glucose， TG， TC， LDL-C， and serum leptin levels were elevated， while HDL-C was decreased； the expression of LepR， POMC protein levels and their mRNA expression decreased， while the protein level and mRNA expression of NPY increased； the fluorescence expression of POMC in the arcuate nucleus was reduced， while NPY fluorescence expression increased （P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）. Compared to the model group， the ECD group and metformin group showed significant improvements in the above indicators （P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）. Compared to the ECD group， the metformin group showed a reduction in body weight and NPY fluorescence expression， and an increase in HDL-C levels （P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）. ConclusionECD can downregulate serum leptin levels and improve glucose and lipid metabolism in the MS of phlegm syndrome. Its mechanism of action may be to reduce liver fat deposition and thereafter affect the expression of neuropeptides related to feeding activity in the hypothalamus.

Objective:To explore the impact of adolescent mental health status on smartphone addiction, and construct a predictive model for smartphone addiction based on the eXtreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost) algorithm and multivariate Logistic regression.Methods:In April 2023, a cross-sectional survey was conducted among 14 666 adolescents.All participants were systematically evaluated using a self-developed general information questionnaire, the middle school student mental health scale(MSSMHS), the adolescents self-harm scale(ASHS), the interaction anxiousness scale(IAS), the mobile phone addiction index(MPAI), the middle school students shame scale(MSSS), the UCLA loneliness scale(UCLA-LS), the multidimensional peer victimization scale(MPVS), and the basic psychological needs scale(BPNS).R software version 4.3.2 was used for data analysis. Participants were randomly divided into training set and validation set at the ratio of 7∶3.The XGBoost model and multivariate logistic regression model were constructed to predict the risk of smartphone addiction, and a nomogram was plotted.Model performance was evaluated using the Hosmer-Lemeshow test, area under the curve(AUC), and accuracy(ACC).Results:(1) A total of 14 036 high school students were included in the study, with 5 069(36.1%) exhibited smartphone addiction.The training set comprised 9 826 students, with 3 549(36.1%) being smartphone addicts.The validation set included 4 210 students, with 1 520(36.1%) being smartphone addicts.(2) The XGBoost model identified shame-proneness and social anxiety as the two main predictors of smartphone addiction.(3) Multivariate Logistic regression analysis revealed that anxiety( B=0.328, OR(95% CI)=1.39(1.07-1.81), P=0.015), interpersonal sensitivity( B=0.311, OR(95% CI)=1.36(1.05-1.77), P=0.018), learning pressure( B=0.606, OR(95% CI)=1.83(1.46-2.31), P<0.001), mood swings( B=0.775, OR(95% CI)=2.17(1.70-2.78), P<0.001), social anxiety( B=0.024, OR(95% CI)=1.02(1.01-1.04), P<0.001), shame-proneness( B=0.049, OR(95% CI)=1.05(1.04-1.06), P<0.001), and peer victimization( B=0.037, OR(95% CI)=1.04(1.02-1.06), P<0.001) were significant predictors of smartphone addiction.(4) The ACC and AUC values of the XGBoost model were 0.890 and 0.929 in the training set, and 0.865 and 0.864 in the validation set, respectively.The multivariate Logistic regression model achieved ACC and AUC values of 0.870 and 0.854 in the training set, and 0.867 and 0.859 in the validation set, respectively. Conclusion:Anxiety, interpersonal sensitivity, learning pressure, mood swings, social anxiety, shame-proneness, and peer victimization are identified risk predictors of smartphone addiction in high school adolescents.

Conclusion:Anxiety, interpersonal sensitivity, learning pressure, mood swings, social anxiety, shame-proneness, and peer victimization are identified risk predictors of smartphone addiction in high school adolescents.

AIM:To investigate the effect of drug-containing serum of oxytropis falcata extract on oxi-dative stress injury of podocyte induced by high glucose through PI3K/AKT/Nrf2 pathway.METH-ODS:The rat renal podocyte was cultured in vitro,and the concentration and time of D-glucose mod-elling and the optimal concentration and time of administration in the drug-containing serum of oxy-tropis falcata extract were screened.The cells were divided into normal group,high glucose group,high glucose+blank serum group,oxytropis falcata group,inhibitor group,oxytropis falcata+inhibitor group.Rhodamine staining and electron microsco-py were used to observe the morphological and pathological changes of podocyte,flow cytometry was used to detect apoptosis rate,and cell migra-tion ability was detected by scratch test.Immuno-fluorescence and fluorescence probe were used to detect the fluorescence expression of p-AKT and ROS level of cells,ELISA was used to detect the con-tent of MDA,NO,SOD and T-AOC in the superna-tant of cells,and Western Blot was used to detect the protein expression of p-PI3K/PI3K,p-AKT/AKT and Nrf2 in cells.The mRNA expressions of Nrf2,HO-1,GCLM and SOD were detected by RT-qPCR.RESULTS:It was selected that 45 mmol/LD-glucose induction for 48 hours was the best modeling con-dition,and the 1-fold dilution of the medicated se-rum of oxytropis falcata extract for 48 hours was the best concentration and intervention time.Com-pared with the normal group,the foot processes of the high glucose group were widely fused and ad-hered to each other,the apoptosis rate,migration ability and intracellular ROS level were significantly increased(P＜0.01),the fluorescence expression of p-AKT was markedly decreased(P＜0.01),the con-tents of MDA and NO were dramatically enhanced,and the contents of SOD and T-AOC were signifi-cantly downregulated(P＜0.01).The protein expres-sion of p-PI3K/PI3K,p-AKT/AKT,Nrf2 and the mRNA expression of Nrf2,HO-1,GCLM and SOD markedly declined(P＜0.01).Compared with high glucose group,foot process fusion and adhesion of podo-cytes in oxytropis falcata group and oxytropis falca-ta+inhibitor group were improved in varying de-grees,apoptosis rate,migration ability and intracel-lular ROS level significantly declined(P＜0.05,P＜0.01),p-AKT fluorescence expression increased(P＜0.01),NO content decreased,T-AOC level elevated(P＜0.01);the content of MDA decreased and the activity of SOD notably rose(P＜0.01),the protein expression of p-PI3K/PI3K,p-AKT/AKT,Nrf2 and the mRNA expression of Nrf2,HO-1,GCLM and SOD markedly increased in oxytropis falcata group(P＜0.05,P＜0.01);the level of ROS in podocytes im-proved(P＜0.01),the fluorescence expression of p-AKT decreased(P＜0.05),the content of NO upregu-lated,the content of T-AOC downregulated,and the expression of p-PI3K/PI3K,p-AKT/AKT,Nrf2 pro-tein and HO-1,GCLM,SOD mRNA decreased in in-hibitor group(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).Compared with oxy-tropis falcata group,the apoptosis rate,migration ability and intracellular ROS level of podocytes in oxytropis falcata+inhibitor group markedly in-creased(P＜0.05,P＜0.01),p-AKT fluorescence ex-pression declined(P＜0.01),MDA and NO content increased,SOD and T-AOC content decreased(P＜0.05,P＜0.01),p-PI3K/PI3K,p-AKT/AKT,Nrf2 protein and Nrf2,HO-1,GCLM,SOD mRNA expression all dramatically downregulated(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).CON-CLUSION:Oxytropis falcata extract may protect podocytes by activating the PI3K/AKT/Nrf2 signal-ing pathway,thereby improving the morphological,structural and functional changes of podocytes in-duced by high glucose and inhibiting oxidative stress response.

AIM:To investigate the effect of drug-containing serum of oxytropis falcata extract on oxi-dative stress injury of podocyte induced by high glucose through PI3K/AKT/Nrf2 pathway.METH-ODS:The rat renal podocyte was cultured in vitro,and the concentration and time of D-glucose mod-elling and the optimal concentration and time of administration in the drug-containing serum of oxy-tropis falcata extract were screened.The cells were divided into normal group,high glucose group,high glucose+blank serum group,oxytropis falcata group,inhibitor group,oxytropis falcata+inhibitor group.Rhodamine staining and electron microsco-py were used to observe the morphological and pathological changes of podocyte,flow cytometry was used to detect apoptosis rate,and cell migra-tion ability was detected by scratch test.Immuno-fluorescence and fluorescence probe were used to detect the fluorescence expression of p-AKT and ROS level of cells,ELISA was used to detect the con-tent of MDA,NO,SOD and T-AOC in the superna-tant of cells,and Western Blot was used to detect the protein expression of p-PI3K/PI3K,p-AKT/AKT and Nrf2 in cells.The mRNA expressions of Nrf2,HO-1,GCLM and SOD were detected by RT-qPCR.RESULTS:It was selected that 45 mmol/LD-glucose induction for 48 hours was the best modeling con-dition,and the 1-fold dilution of the medicated se-rum of oxytropis falcata extract for 48 hours was the best concentration and intervention time.Com-pared with the normal group,the foot processes of the high glucose group were widely fused and ad-hered to each other,the apoptosis rate,migration ability and intracellular ROS level were significantly increased(P＜0.01),the fluorescence expression of p-AKT was markedly decreased(P＜0.01),the con-tents of MDA and NO were dramatically enhanced,and the contents of SOD and T-AOC were signifi-cantly downregulated(P＜0.01).The protein expres-sion of p-PI3K/PI3K,p-AKT/AKT,Nrf2 and the mRNA expression of Nrf2,HO-1,GCLM and SOD markedly declined(P＜0.01).Compared with high glucose group,foot process fusion and adhesion of podo-cytes in oxytropis falcata group and oxytropis falca-ta+inhibitor group were improved in varying de-grees,apoptosis rate,migration ability and intracel-lular ROS level significantly declined(P＜0.05,P＜0.01),p-AKT fluorescence expression increased(P＜0.01),NO content decreased,T-AOC level elevated(P＜0.01);the content of MDA decreased and the activity of SOD notably rose(P＜0.01),the protein expression of p-PI3K/PI3K,p-AKT/AKT,Nrf2 and the mRNA expression of Nrf2,HO-1,GCLM and SOD markedly increased in oxytropis falcata group(P＜0.05,P＜0.01);the level of ROS in podocytes im-proved(P＜0.01),the fluorescence expression of p-AKT decreased(P＜0.05),the content of NO upregu-lated,the content of T-AOC downregulated,and the expression of p-PI3K/PI3K,p-AKT/AKT,Nrf2 pro-tein and HO-1,GCLM,SOD mRNA decreased in in-hibitor group(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).Compared with oxy-tropis falcata group,the apoptosis rate,migration ability and intracellular ROS level of podocytes in oxytropis falcata+inhibitor group markedly in-creased(P＜0.05,P＜0.01),p-AKT fluorescence ex-pression declined(P＜0.01),MDA and NO content increased,SOD and T-AOC content decreased(P＜0.05,P＜0.01),p-PI3K/PI3K,p-AKT/AKT,Nrf2 protein and Nrf2,HO-1,GCLM,SOD mRNA expression all dramatically downregulated(P＜0.05,P＜0.01).CON-CLUSION:Oxytropis falcata extract may protect podocytes by activating the PI3K/AKT/Nrf2 signal-ing pathway,thereby improving the morphological,structural and functional changes of podocytes in-duced by high glucose and inhibiting oxidative stress response.

OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical efficacy of stuck acupuncture combined with facial acupuncture for facial cosmetology. METHODS: A total of 22 female patients with symptoms of facial aging were treated with stuck acupuncture combined with facial acupuncture. Stuck acupuncture was applied at bilateral Taiyang (EX-HN5) through Xiaguan (ST7), Jiache (ST6) through Daying (ST5) and Yingxiang (LI20)，once a week. Facial acupuncture was applied at Yintang (GV24⁺), ashi points (nasolabial fold) and bilateral Yangbai (GB14), Quanliao (SI18), Sibai (ST2), Xiaguan (ST7), Dicang (ST4), Jiache (ST6), Daying (ST5), Renying (ST9), twice a week. Four weeks were required. The global aesthetic improvement scale (GAIS) score after treatment, wrinkle severity rating scale (WSRS) score before and after treatment were observed. The quantitative analysis of skin characteristics was performed before and after treatment. RESULTS: After treatment, of the 22 patients, 3 cases had complete improvement, 15 cases had obvious improvement, 4 cases had partial improvement, 0 case had no improvement. The WSRS score and scores of wrinkles, textures and pores were decreased compared with those before treatment (P<0.01). CONCLUSION Stuck acupuncture combined with facial acupuncture could effectively improve the symptoms of facial aging.

Based on the theory of the five-body constituents from Huangdi Neijing (Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic), the approach and methods of acupuncture for facial aging are explored. Acupuncture for facial aging can be guided by the concept of the five-body constituents, targeting the facial "skin, flesh, vessels, tendons, and bones", and utilizing five different types of needles-facial needles, needle knives, filiform needles, retaining needles, and elongated needles and filiform needles-to maximize their respective advantages in treating facial aging. Facial needles are applied to the "skin" by selecting facial acupoints or local ashi points (at wrinkle or pigmentation sites). Needle knives are used for the "flesh" to perform longitudinal dredging and transverse dissection of the facial muscle layers. Filiform needles target the "vessels" with needling at Renying (ST9) to improve facial complexion. Retaining needles act on the "tendons" with needling from Taiyang (EX-HN5) to Xiaguan (ST7), and Jiache (ST6) to Daying (ST5), using clockwise twisting to generate a retaining needle sensation and lifting to achieve an overall facial lifting effect.

BACKGROUND:The progression of chronic oral diseases is closely related to the continuous inflammatory response.Anti-inflammatory peptides are expected to become a substitute for traditional anti-inflammatory drugs due to their rich sources,easy absorption by the body and low side effects.OBJECTIVE:To review the types,anti-inflammatory mechanisms,and their application in oral related diseases.METHODS:CNKI,PubMed,and Web of Science were retrieved,with"polypeptide,anti-inflammatory,immunomodulation,oral inflammatory diseases"as Chinese and English search terms.111 articles related to the classification of anti-inflammatory peptides,anti-inflammatory mechanisms,and application of oral inflammatory diseases were selected for review.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Anti-inflammatory peptides are abundant in nature,which can be extracted from plants,animals,and microorganisms.In addition to naturally occurring peptides and protein hydrolysates,peptides synthesized by chemical modification,computer simulation design,and genetic recombination technology can also exert anti-inflammatory effects.The composition,position,and properties of amino acids affect their anti-inflammatory activity.(2)Because the anti-inflammatory mechanism of anti-inflammatory peptides is still unclear,the activity verification is mostly cell experiments,and there is a lack of animal models,clinical trials and other further studies.(3)In the treatment of oral inflammatory diseases(including periodontitis,oral mucositis,caries,pulpitis,suppurative osteomyelitis of the jaw,and peri-implantitis),anti-inflammatory peptides can inhibit the release of inflammatory factors such as interleukin 6,interleukin 1β,and tumor necrosis factor α in oral tissues,regulate inflammatory responses,improve the chronic inflammatory environment,reduce tissue destruction and structural loss,and promote bone tissue regeneration,providing new ideas for the treatment of oral inflammatory diseases.
