Objective:To analyze the clinical characteristics and differences of inpatients who have been diagnosed with both cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. The findings from this study will help medical professionals make informed decisions regarding diagnosis and treatment strategies for patients with coexisting cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Methods:This study included a total of 275 patients who were hospitalized in both the Neurology and Cardiology Departments of our hospital between January 2012 and December 2019.The study compared the treatment, hospitalization, and prognosis of the two departments using retrospective stratified analysis. Results:The majority of patients hospitalized in the Cardiology Department were diagnosed with circulatory system diseases(I00-I99), accounting for 92.0%(253 cases). In the Neurology Department, the main diagnoses were circulatory system diseases(I00-I99), nervous system diseases(G00-G99), symptoms and signs involving circulatory and respiratory systems, cognition, perception, emotional state and behavior(R00-R09, R40-R46), accounting for 69.8%(192 cases), 16.7%(46 cases)and 13.1%(36 cases), respectively. There was a significant difference in the distribution of diagnoses between the Cardiology and Neurology Departments( χ2=67.8, P<0.001). The Cardiology Department had a higher proportion of patients with 5 or more other diagnoses[153(55.6%) vs.59(21.5%)], while Neurology Department had a higher proportion of patients with 2-4 other diagnoses(64.0% vs.36.4%). When comparing the distribution of other diagnoses during hospitalization in the Cardiology Department, the proportion of patients with only one other diagnosis was higher in the first visit group of Neurology Department compared to those with two or more diagnoses, which was statistically significant( χ2=9.3, P=0.03). There was no statistical difference in hospitalization days between the two departments( χ2=2.2, P=0.14). Although there was a significant difference in patient outcomes, with a lower proportion of patients not recovering or dying in the Neurology Department( χ2=4.6, P=0.03), there was no significant difference in the interval between hospitalizations for the two groups(180 d, χ2=0.1, P=0.72; 90 d, χ2=1.8, P=0.18). Conclusions:The need for early prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with both cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases is still a pressing concern.Exploring a combined diagnosis and treatment model for multiple diseases may prove useful in overcoming the limitations of the current single disease diagnosis and treatment approach.

Objectives:To understand the use of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) and related factors in men who have sex with men (MSM) in Shandong Province, and provide reference for the promotion of PrEP and PEP in MSM.Methods:From April to July in 2022, MSM were recruited from 7 sentinel surveillance sites in Shandong Province for a questionnaire survey, and the sample size of each city site was 400. The information about sociodemographic characteristics, sexual behaviors, the uses of PrEP and PEP and others were collected from the MSM, and blood samples were collected from them for HIV and syphilis testing. Results:A total of 2 815 MSM were investigated, the majority of them were aged less than 30 years (55.7%, 1 569/2 815), unmarried (68.6%, 1 931/2 815) and had education background of college and above (56.5%, 1 590/2 815). Only 9.2% (258/2 815) had used PrEP and 10.8% (305/2 815) had used PEP. Multivariate logistic regression showed that factors associated with high likelihood of PrEP use in MSM included age ≤30 years (a OR=4.04, 95% CI:1.25-13.01), self-perceived lower risk of HIV infection (a OR=1.76, 95% CI:1.16-2.68), group sex and commercial sex in the past six months (a OR=1.51, 95% CI: 1.10-2.09; a OR=1.69, 95% CI: 1.16-2.47), new-type drug use (a OR=1.53, 95% CI: 1.11-2.11), receiving peer education (a OR=1.56, 95% CI: 1.03-2.37), other people using PrEP (a OR=3.29, 95% CI: 2.48-4.36), and being HIV negative (a OR=8.40, 95% CI:1.12-63.12). Factor associated with low likelihood of PrEP use in MSM was anal sex with casual partner (a OR=0.67, 95% CI:0.49-0.90). Factors associated with high likelihood of PEP use in MSM included age under 50 years (≤30 years old: a OR=2.41, 95% CI:1.02-5.69; 31-49 years old: a OR=3.33, 95% CI:1.42-7.85), no self-perceived risk for HIV infection (a OR=1.87, 95% CI:1.12-3.11), group sex in the past six months (a OR=1.68, 95% CI:1.23-2.29), new-type drug use (a OR=3.86, 95% CI:2.94-5.07) and receiving no peer education (a OR=1.54, 95% CI:1.12-2.12). Conclusions:In Shandong, a higher proportion of MSM used PrEP and PEP. Peer education and self-perceived HIV infection risk education should be strengthened to increase the rates of PrEP and PEP use in MSM.

Objective To analyze the influence of different backpack types and loads on kinematics and plantar pressure of college students during stair climbing, so as to provide references for choosing the appropriate backpack and carrying mode. Methods The Nokov infrared light point motion capture system and Podome plantar pressure system were used to analyze the differences in the range of motion ( ROM) of the trunk and lower limb joints, the kinematic parameters at the peak time, the peak pressure of each plantar partition, the contact time, the maximum pressure of the whole foot, the average pressure and the maximum contact area for 15 male college students during the support period of stair climbing. Results The 5% BW and 10% BW backpack loads reduced ROM of trunk rotation, increased ROM of ankle flexion/ extension and varus / valgus. The 10% BW backpack loads increased the peak pressure of the 1st and 3rd metatarsals bones and the maximum pressure of the whole foot ( P < 0. 05). Single-shoulder bag and handbag reduced ROM of trunk tilting and rotation, and increased ROM of ankle flexion and extension, hip flexion angle, peak pressure of foot arch and medial heel (P<0. 05). The double-shoulder bag loads increased peak pressure in the toe area (P<0. 05). Conclusions During walking on the stairs, the 5% BW and 10% BW backpack loads limited trunk rotation and increased ankle ROM. The 10% BW loads also increased the load in metatarsal area. The unilateral weight-bearing mode would make the trunk tilt to the unload side and rotate to the weight-bearing side. The pressure in toe area was higher when carrying double-shoulder bag, while single-shoulder bag and handbag mainly increased the pressure of arch foot and medial heel. It is suggested that college students choose symmetrical backpack scheme, and wisely allocate back weight to avoid the injury of foot area.

OBJECTIVE:
To delineate a small supernumerary marker chromosome (sSMC) derived from chromosome 9 with combined cytogenetic and molecular methods.
METHODS:
For a pregnant woman with fetal ultrasound revealing left ventricular punctate hyperechoic echo, and a high risk for monosomy or partial deletion of chromosome 8, chromosome 9 trisomy, monosomy or partial deletion of chromosome 11 by non-invasive prenatal testing, and an abnormal MOM value revealed by mid-term serum screening, amniocentesis was performed for G banded chromosomal analysis and single nucleotide polymorphism array (SNP-array) assay. Peripheral blood samples of the woman and her spouse were also collected for the above tests. In addition, the woman was further subjected to C banding karyotyping analysis and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) assay.
RESULTS:
The G-banded karyotype of the pregnant women was 47,XX,+mar[20]/46,XX[80], whilst C-banding analysis showed a deep stain in the middle of the sSMC (suggestive of centromeric region) and light stain at both ends (suggestive of euchromatism). FISH combined with DAPI banding analysis using 9pter/9qter probes revealed a karyotype of 47,XX,+mar.ish i(9)(9p10)(9p++)[2]/46,XX[18], whilst SNP-array has revealed a 68.1 Mb duplication in the 9p24.3q13 region. A database search has suggested the duplication to be likely pathogenic. No abnormality was found in her fetus and spouse by karyotyping and SNP-array analysis.
CONCLUSION
Through combined cytogenetic and molecular genetic analysis, a sSMC derived from chromosome 9 was delineated, which has enabled genetic counseling for the couple.

Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2016;32(8):1133-1144
The expression of dentin sialophosphoprotein (DSPP) is the marker for cells differentiated into odontoblasts. This study attempted to analyze the DSPP promoter and build the reporter LacZ expression system driven by this promoter, which allows convenient and quick detection of odontoblast cells. First, we separated the human dental mesenchymal cells in which the expression of DSPP can be effectively induced by dexamethasone. Second, four 5' flanking regions of human DSPP gene (- 4 000-+54, -2 500-+54, -1 447-+54 and -1 027-+54) were analyzed, the results showed that the highest promoter activity lied in the -2 500-+54 region. The promoter activity is reduced when the 5' flanking region was extended from -2 500 to -4 000 bp upstream from the transcription start site; The promoter activity are also decreased when the 5' flanking regions were shorted from -2 500 to -1 447 bp and from -1 447 to -1 027 bp, indicating that potential suppresser elements are lied in the region between -4 000 and -2 500 bp and potential activator elements are lied in the region between -2 500 and -1 027 bp. Then we constructed the lentiviral report vector phDSPP-LacZ containing the -2 500-+ 54 promoter region in front of the LacZ gene. The expression of LacZ was detected using X-Gal staining in both human dental mesenchymal cells and immortalized human dental mesenchymal cells infected with phDSPP-LacZ. The phDSPP-LacZ lentiviral vector may provide a more convenient method to detect the expression of DSPP in human odontogenic differentiation, tooth development and tooth regeneration studies.
