Abstract
To clarify the relationship between sports participation and adolescent suicide risk, as well as its underlying mechanisms for preventing suicidal behaviors, the study employs a literature review approach to analyze, synthesize, and summarize relevant research. The findings reveal that physical exercise can reduce suicide rates among middle school students, with high intensity aerobic exercise performed 5-7 days per week demonstrating the most significant effect. However, daily physical activity and muscle strengthening exercises show no significant correlation with suicide related behaviors. The mechanisms through which physical activity reduces the risk of suicide among adolescents include emotional release leading to self help skills, helping adolescents build social connections, and improving physical and brain function. It is recommended that families and schools help adolescents discover the joy of participating in sports, assist in forming sports teams, and ensure at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity daily to reduce the risk of suicidal behavior among adolescents.

Objective:To investigate the efficacy of posterior cranial fossa in- situ floating bone flap osteotomy in the treatment of syndromic craniosynostosis(SCS). Methods:The clinical data of SCS children who underwent posterior cranial fossa in- situ floating bone flap osteotomy at the Shanghai Children’s Medical Center, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from April 2020 to August 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. The surgical procedures were as follows. The occipital bone was cut into several mosaic bone flaps of varying sizes, without peeling it off the dura, which were left as a small free floating bone flap. The anteroposterior cranial diameter, cranial height, intracranial volume, and degree of improvement in tonsillar herniation and hydrocephalus of the children (hydrocephalus quantification was performed using the ratio of the ventricular diameter to the biparietal diameter)were measured preoperatively, 7 days postoperatively, 3 months postoperatively, and at the last follow-up (at least 12 months after the operation) to evaluate the surgical outcomes. The measurement data of normal distribution were expressed as Mean±SD. The paired t-test was used for comparison within the repeated measurement data groups at the two time points. One-way repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed on the repeated measurement data at multiple time points, and pairwise comparisons in post hoc tests were corrected using the Bonferroni method. Results:A total of 17 pediatric patients with SCS were included, comprising 10 males and 7 females, with ages ranging from 4 to 18 months (mean age: 9.5 months). Among them, 12 patients were complicated with Chiari malformation and hydrocephalus (1 severe case, 8 moderate cases, and 3 mild cases). Postoperative follow-up lasted 12 to 35 months, with an average of 17 months. After surgery, the posterior cranial appearance of the children was enlarged, with increased convexity of the occiput and a full contour. At the last follow-up, the middle cranial height [(107.80±10.72) mm vs. (102.82±10.09) mm, P<0.05], the posterior cranial height [(124.91±10.40) mm vs. (107.58±13.46) mm, P<0.01] and anteroposterior diameter [(153.30±11.26) mm vs. (123.64±17.44) mm, P<0.01] as well as the intracranial volume [(1 317.92±225.77) cm 3 vs. (1 014.93±231.81) cm 3,P<0.01] were increased compared with the preoperative period, and the average improvement rate of intracranial volume was 37.0% (18.1%-79.2%). Among the 12 cases of tonsillar herniation, 7 cases had improvement. Moreover, all the 12 cases of hydrocephalus witnessed a mitigation in severity, from (46.33±9.34)% preoperatively to (35.24±9.88)% postoperatively, with a statistically significant difference ( P<0.01). Conclusion:Posterior cranial fossa in- situ floating bone flap osteotomy can effectively improve the appearance of patients with SCS, increase the intracranial volume, relieve the degree of hydrocephalus, and reduce the intracranial pressure.

Objective To evaluate the reliability of Vitek 2 AST-N335 card for determining the susceptibility of Acinetobacter bauman-nii(AB)to cefoperazone/sulbactam.Methods A total of 318 non-repeated clinical isolates of AB collected in 2023 were tested for antimicrobial susceptibility to cefoperazone/sulbactam using broth microdilution(BMD),the AST-N335 card, and the Kirby-Bauer(K-B)disk diffusion method.Using BMD as the reference method, the reliability of AST-N335 card was assessed, and the accuracy of K-B disk diffusion method as the confirmatory test was validated. Results Compared with BMD,the susceptibility testing of 318 AB strains to cefoperazone/sulbactam using the AST-N335 card showed categorical agreement(CA)of 87.8%(279/318),very major er-ror(VME)of 6.0%(19/318),major error(ME)of 0%(0/318),and minor error(mE)of 1.9%(6/318),which fall outside of the acceptable error range. In contrast, the K-B method achieved CA of 99.4%(316/318),VME of 0%,ME of 0.3%(1/318),and mE of 0.3%(1/318),all within acceptable limits.Of these, the errors with AST-N335 card occurred within the minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)range of 8-32 μg/mL.Using BMD as the reference method, further analysis was performed on the 171 AB strains with AST-N335 card MIC values of 8-32 μg/mL for cefoperazone/sulbactam.It was revealed that at MIC of 32 μg/mL,the CA was 0%;at MIC of 16 μg/mL,CA was 5.3%(1/19)and VME rate was 84.2%(16/19),both of which substantially exceeded accepta-ble error ranges. At MIC of 8 μg/mL,the CA was 94.9%(131/138)and VME was 2.2%(3/138),both approaching the acceptable ranges. Conclusion The results obtained with Vitek 2 AST-N335 card in determining for cefoperazone/sulbactam are unreliable when the MIC values fall within the range of 8-32 μg/mL,which leads to an underestimation of the resistance rate to cefoperazone/sulbac-tam.This issue requires urgent attention in both laboratories and clinical practice. The K-B disk diffusion method could serve as a sup-plementary verification approach in routine laboratories.

Objective To analyze the correlation between the lung allocation score (LAS) and the risk of early death and complications in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) after lung transplantation. Methods Clinical data of 275 patients with IPF were retrospectively analyzed. The correlation between LAS and the risk of early death in IPF patients after lung transplantation and the correlation between LAS and complications at postoperative 1 year was assessed by univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses. Results Among 275 recipients, 62, 83, 95 and 108 cases died within postoperative 30, 90, 180 and 365 d, respectively. LAS was correlated with 30-, 90-, 180- and 365-d fatality of IPF patients (all P<0.05), whereas it was not correlated with the incidence of primary graft dysfunction (PGD) and acute kidney injury (AKI) at 365 d after lung transplantation (both P>0.05). Conclusions LAS is correlated with the risk of early death of IPF patients after lung transplantation. While, it is not correlated the incidence of PGD and AKI early after lung transplantation. Special attention should be paid to the effect of comprehensive factors upon PGD and AKI.

Objective To prepare decellularized scaffolds from rabbit cartilage at various concentrations and assess their physicochemical properties and compatibility with stem cells to provide an experimental basis for cartilage repair. Methods Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)were cultured using the Percoll density gradient separation method, and this was followed by flow cytometric analysis and testing of their osteogenic and chondrogenic differentiation capabilities.Cartilage pieces were excised from rabbit knees and hip joints and subjected to physical crushing, repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and mixed enzymatic digestion for decellularization. To compare and observe the physicochemical properties of the decellularized scaffolds at different concentrations, three groups of scaffolds(labelwd A,B,and C)were designed with concentrations of 100%,50%and 30%,with three replicates each.Third-generation PKH26-labeled BMSCs were seeded onto optimally concentrated scaffolds and cultured for 1 week to observe cell growth. Results Flow cytometry detected BMSC surface antigens with positive expression of CD44 and CD90 and negative expression of CD45.Osteogenic induction stained with alizarin red showed red calcific nodules, and chondrogenic induction stained with alcian blue showed blue cartilaginous nodules. No apparent cell morphology was observed in the three groups of scaffolds stained with hematoxylin-eosin,and toluidine blue. There was a significant difference in DNA concentration between decellularized samples and non-decellularized scaffolds(P<0.05).The content of glycosaminoglycans was slightly lower than the normal values.Significant differences were observed between the three groups of scaffolds in terms of pore size, water absorption, porosity, tensile strength, and Young's modulus(P<0.05).After co-cultivation of stem cells with the scaffolds, cell adhesion was found to be good. Conclusions Percoll density gradient separation can obtain high-purity rabbit BMSCs,and the mixed decellularization method is superior.Group B scaffolds were the most suitable for tissue-engineered cartilage repair.BMSCs cultured in vitro grew well on Group B scaffolds.
