Objective:
To investigate the association between body weight standardized vitamin B intakes and blood pressure among school aged children, so as to provide evidence for developing dietary guidance and intervention strategies of promoting healthy blood pressure in children.
Methods:
The data were derived from a pediatric health cohort established in both urban and rural areas of Chongqing. A total of 1 368 primary school students in grades one to three were recruited for the baseline survey between October and November 2014 by using a stratified cluster random sampling design. From February to March 2019, 1 283 participants completed the first follow up assessment. Dietary intake and sociodemographic characteristics were assessed using a food frequency questionnaire and a self administered questionnaire. Blood pressure, height, weight, and other anthropometric indicators were measured. Body weight standardized intakes of six B vitamins(B 1, B 2, B 3, B 6, B 9, and B 12 )were categorized into tertiles( T1-T 3). Linear mixed effects models were applied to examine the associations between body weight standardized vitamin B intakes and changes in systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), and mean arterial pressure (MAP). In addition, mixed effects Logistic regression models were used to assess the risk of elevated blood pressure.
Results:
Linear mixed effects model regression analyses showed that, after adjusting for potential confounders including age, sex, and family history of obesity, body weight standardized B vitamin intake was negatively associated with SBP, DBP, and MAP in school aged children ( β =-7.79 to -0.68, all P <0.05). Results from the mixed effects Logistic regression models showed that, compared with the T 1 group, children in the T 3 group had a lower risk of elevated blood pressure for vitamin B 1 ( OR=0.40, 95%CI =0.25-0.64), B 2 ( OR=0.36, 95%CI =0.23-0.58), B 3 ( OR=0.47, 95%CI =0.31-0.72, B 6 ( OR=0.37, 95%CI =0.22-0.60), B 9 ( OR=0.36, 95%CI =0.21-0.60), and B 12 ( OR= 0.56 , 95%CI =0.37-0.86)(all P <0.05).
Conclusions
Body weight standardized B vitamins were associated with changes in blood pressure levels and the risk of elevated blood pressure among school aged children. Ensuring sufficient dietary intakes of vitamin B may help prevent and control of abnormal blood pressure in children.

Objective:To investigate the effect of water intake on bladder filling time before embryo transfer. Methods:A total of 189 patients were collected from February to June 2023 who were to undergo embryo transfer in Guangdong Women and Children Hospital. The patients were divided into group A ( n=61), group B ( n=64) and group C ( n=64) using a random number table and they were respectively given 300 mL, 500 mL and 700 mL water to drink. Abdominal ultrasound was performed every 15 min, a total of 1-5 times, from 45 min after drinking water until the bladder filling. The bladder filling time and bladder volume were collected. Kaplan-Meier method was used to compare the difference of bladder filling time among the three groups. The multivariate Cox regression was used to analyze factors of bladder filling time. Results:The cumulative bladder filling rates of group A, group B and group C at 105 min after drinking water were 57.4% (35/61), 90.6% (58/64) and 98.4% (63/64), respectively, and the median survival time (95% CI) of bladder filling was 105.0 (89.9-120.1) min, 60.0 (55.4-64.7) min and 60.0 (55.4-64.6) min, respectively. Pairwise comparison of Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed that the bladder filling time of group A was longer than that of group B and group C ( P<0.001), and there was no statistically significant difference between group B and group C ( P>0.05). The results of age-stratification analysis showed that the bladder filling time of younger patients in group A [90.0 (75.2-104.8) min] was longer than that in group B [60.0 (55.8-64.2) min, P<0.001] and group C [60.0 (55.1-64.8) min, P<0.001], and there was no statistical significance between group B and group C ( P>0.05); the bladder filling time of older patients in group C [60.0 (59.1-70.9) min] was shorter than that in group A [105.0 (89.9-120.1) min, P<0.001] and group B [75.0 (64.3-85.7) min, P=0.027], there was no statistical significance between group A and group B ( P>0.05). Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that taking group A as reference, the hazard ratio ( HR, 95% CI) of groups B and C were 2.71 (1.78-4.21) and 3.23 (2.10-4.96), both P<0.001. The HR (95% CI) of the elderly patients was 0.69 (0.49-0.99), P=0.044. Conclusion:Water intake and age are independent factors affecting bladder filling time in embryo transfer patients. Patients are recommended to drink 500 mL of water 75 min before embryo transfer and appropriately increase the amount of water or extend the bladder preparation time after drinking water for elderly patients.

AIM: To observe the effects of superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), myeloperoxidase (MPO) and transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) of radiation-induced lung injury rats by Kiwi fruit essence (unsaturated fatty acid of actinidia chinesis planch seed oil). METHODS: According to random number table, 90 Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into the control group, model group, 60 mg/kg unsaturated fatty acid of actinidia chinesis planch seed oil intervention group, 120 mg/kg unsaturated fatty acid of actinidia chinesis planch seed oil intervention group, 240 mg/kg unsaturated fatty acid of actinidia chinesis planch seed oil intervention group, 18 animals were included in each group. Except for the control group, rats in the remaining groups were constructed by 6MV-X-ray 18Gy full chest radiation, one week before modeling, the rats in the last 3 groups were given (60, 120, 240) mg/kg unsaturated fatty acid of actinidia chinesis planch seed oil. The first two groups were given 0.9% sodium chloride solution by gavage, once a day in each rat. 14 days, 28 days, and 56 days after radiation, the rats were randomly sacrificed and their chests were cut, and ave lung tissue was saved. HE and Masson staining were performed to observe the pathological changes, and the content of SOD, GSH-Px, MPO was determined. The expression of TGF-β1 was analyzed by immunohistochemical staining. RESULTS: Compared with the model group, (60, 120, 240) mg/kg unsaturated fatty acid of actinidia chinesis planch seed oil significantly reduced the degree of lung alveolitis and radiation pulmonary fibrosis, reduced the content of hydroxyproline (HYP), MPO, increased the antioxidant enzymes SOD and GSH-Px content, down-regulated the expression of TGF-β1.There were significant differences in the above-mentioned indicators among the intervention groups of (60, 120, 240) mg/kg unsaturated fatty acid of actinidia chinesis planch seed oil group, and it was positively correlated with dosage. CONCLUSION: Unsaturated fatty acid of actinidia chinesis planch seed oil has a preventive effect on radiation-induced lung injury, and its mechanism may be related to the reduction of oxidative stress damage and down-regulation of TGF-β1 expression.

Objective:To assess the significance of counting the number of caudal vertebral ossification centers (OCN) below fetal terminal conus medullaris in the screening for closed spina bifida and tethered cord syndrome (TCS).Methods:The OCN was counted in 961 normal fetuses(normal group) between 17 and 41 gestational weeks and in 140 fetuses with closed spina bifida or tethered cord syndrome(abnormal group) from Jan.2013 to Dec.2020 in Affiliated Shenzhen Maternity & Child Healthcare Hospital, Southern Medical University, Women and Children′s Hospital, School of Medicine, Xiamen University and Maternity and Child Health Care of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The OCN was counted in the dorsal mid-sagittal section of fetal caudal spine. The reliability and agreement test were evaluated by intraclass correlation coefficients in another 50 normal fetuses. The OCN was compared between two groups. ROC curve and the cut-off value were constructed and calculated. Results:In normal group, the N increased with the growing of gestational age.In the subgroup of 17-20 weeks, the OCN ranged from 5 to 7 in most fetuses. In the others subgroups, the OCN was equal to or greater than 6 in 99.9% cases and more than 6 in 97.1% cases. In abnormal group, OCN was less than 7 in 93.0% fetuses and less than 6 in 82.8% cases. There were statistical differences between the two groups except for the subgroup of 17-20 gestational weeks( P<0.05). With the cut-off value of 6.5, the specificity and sensitivity were 93.0% and 94.3% respectively for predicting the presence of closed spinal dysraphism or TCS. Conclusions:OCN is a simple way to evaluate the position of conus medullaris and to screen for the skin-covered spine dysraphism or TSC. OCN is more than 6 in most normal fetuses. Further evaluation of spine is required in fetuses with N less than or equal to 6.

Objective:
To explore the indication and surgery scope for laparoscopic extraperitoneal lymphadenectomy in locally advanced cervical cancer.
Methods:
Laparoscopic extraperitoneal lymphadenectomy was initially performed on patients with locally advanced cervical cancer. The results of preoperative computed tomography (CT) images and serum level of squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCC-Ag) were analyzed, and the diagnostic efficiencies of the minimum axial diameter (MAD) of lymph node on CT≥0.5 cm, ≥1.0 cm, serum level of SCC-Ag alone or combined to predict the extraperitoneal lymph node metastases were compared. The high-risk factors of common iliac lymph node (CILN) and para-aortic lymph node (PALN) metastases were also analyzed.
Results:
The lymph node metastasis rate of 81 patients who received the laparoscopic extraperitoneal lymphadenectomy was 59.3% (48/81). The CILN and/or PALN metastasis rate was 24.7%(20/81), and among them, the MAD of CILN and/or PALN ≥0.5 cm on CT images were in only 7 patients. The threshold of SCC-Ag for evaluating lymph node metastasis was 4.8 ng/ml. The accuracy, specificity and Youden index of SCC-Ag≥4.8+ MAD≥1.0 cm group for predicting lymph node metastasis were 78.3%, 100% and 0.6, respectively, and were significantly higher than 57.9%, 12.1% and 0.1 of MAD≥0.5 cm group, 71.1%, 75.8% and 0.4 of MAD≥1.0 cm group, 65.0%, 57.7% and 0.3 of SCC-Ag≥4.8 ng/ml group and 68.3%, 65.4% and 0.4 of SCC-Ag≥4.8 ng/ml+ MAD≥0.5 cm group (
