Objective:To systematically review qualitative studies on the experiences of musculoskeletal symptoms in breast cancer patients undergoing endocrine therapy, and to gain insights into the initiation, development, and effects of these symptoms, along with their implications for patients, to guide the creation of targeted strategies for symptom management. Methods:The qualitative studies on the experiences of musculoskeletal symptoms in breast cancer patients undergoing endocrine therapy were performed across several databases, which included the Cochrane Library, Joanna Briggs Institute Evidence based Healthcare Center Database, PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, Web of Science, Scopus, CNKI, Wanfang Data, and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database. The retrieval period was from the establishment of the database to April 30, 2024. The studies' quality was evaluated utilizing the iteration of the Joanna Briggs Institute Qualitative Assessment and Review Instrument designed for qualitative research. Data synthesis was carried out using Meta-aggregation techniques. Results:A total of 15 articles were included and 41 results were extracted, which were grouped into 11 new categories and integrated into 3 primary themes: the manifestation of bone and joint symptoms was highly unique and varied, prominently featuring experiences such as migratory joint pain, morning stiffness, and cramps affecting both large and small joints, frequently associated with functional limitations; these symptoms significantly influence patients' everyday activities and mental health, contributing to feelings of anxiety, avoidance behaviors, fear, and a reduction in overall quality of life; to manage the intricate nature of their symptoms, patients employ a variety of coping mechanisms, such as engaging in physical activity, taking dietary supplements, consulting about medications, and seeking support from external sources. Conclusions:During endocrine therapy for breast cancer, patients exhibit diverse characteristics of musculoskeletal symptoms, and the resulting fear of recurrence, avoidance behaviors, and anxiety have a negative impact on their psychological well-being and overall health. Healthcare professionals should take into account individual differences, such as age, menopausal status, type of endocrine therapy, medication adherence, and factors that may exacerbate or alleviate symptoms, in order to effectively predict, assess, and manage bone and joint symptoms during endocrine therapy.

Journal of Clinical Neurology 2018;14(2):141-152
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: There is increasing recognition of the importance of stroke in females to both clinical and public health. The natural course of stroke is worse in females than in males, but the evidence regarding sex disparities in the responses to thrombolysis in stroke patents is still controversial. We compared outcomes after thrombolysis treatment between females and males. METHODS: Clinical trials reported in the Embase, PubMed, and Cochrane Library electronic databases up to March 13, 2017 were included in this analysis. Two reviewers independently extracted the data and conducted quality assessments. Statistical tests were performed to check for heterogeneity and publication bias. Sensitivity analysis was also performed to evaluate the stability of the conclusions. RESULTS: Sixteen reports involving 60,159 patients were available for analysis. The female patients were a 0.89-fold [95% confidence interval (CI)=0.87–0.90, p < 0.001], 0.89-fold (95% CI=0.87–0.91, p < 0.001), and 1.24-fold (95% CI=1.11–1.36, p < 0.001) more likely to obtain good, excellent, and poor functional outcomes, respectively, with no significant difference in the complications of symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage among the sexes [risk ratios (RR)=0.99, 95% CI=0.92–1.07, p=0.81] after thrombolysis treatment. In addition, the prevalence of a good functional outcome did not differ significantly between females and males in the intra-arterial thrombolysis (IAT) group (RR=1.05, 95% CI=0.85–1.29, p=0.67) in a subgroup analysis. CONCLUSIONS: This study has demonstrated that females often exhibit a worse outcome than males after intravenous thrombolysis (IVT), whereas no relevant sex differences were found in outcome or recanalization after IAT, with safety regarding hemorrhage complications from thrombolysis being the same for the sexes. However, IVT should not be withheld from female stroke patients solely based on their sex before the findings are confirmed in further large-scale research.

Objective To explore investigate the current situation of benefit finding and depression among breast cancer patients and to analyze the influencing factors of benefit finding of them so as to provide a basis for clinical practice. Methods A total of 216 breast cancer patients were selected as subjects by convenience sampling from four ClassⅢ hospitals in Shanghai. The general information, benefit finding and depression were investigated with the general information questionnaire, the Chinese version of Benefit Finding Scale (BFS) and Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS). Pearson correlation was used to analyze the correlation between them, and the multiple linear regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of benefit finding among breast cancer patients. Results The score of benefit finding and depression of breast cancer patients was (53.41±16.40) and (43.10±6.77) respectively with a negative correlation between them (r=-0.55,P< 0.01). Single factor analysis showed that there were statistical differences in benefit finding among breast cancer patients with different education levels, domiciles, marital status, mammary contour after surgery and depression (P<0.05). Multiple linear regression revealed that the influencing factors of benefit finding of breast cancer patients included education levels, marital status, mammary contour after surgery and depression (P< 0.05).Conclusions The benefit finding of breast cancer patients can influence depression of patients. Medical staff should actively guide patients to increase benefit finding of patients, reduce patients' depression and improve patients' life quality by appropriate methods.

Objective? To understand the status quo of knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of nurses in hospital and community about nutrition for stroke patients, compare their differences, and analyze the common related factors, so as to provide basis for carrying out nutritional nursing education for stroke patients in hospital-community interaction. Methods? A total of 160 neurology nurses from 7 Class Ⅲ Grade A hospitals and 161 nurses from 10 community hospitals in Shanghai were selected from August to October 2017 by convenience sampling method. The Chinese version of the Staff Attitudes to Nutritional Nursing Care Geriatric scale were applied in the investigation. A total of 340 questionnaires were distributed and 321 valid questionnaires were recovered, with a recovery rate of 94.4%. SPSS 20.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results? The scores of nutrition knowledge, nutrition attitude and nutritional practice of the 160 hospital nurses were (58.44±12.67), (72.72±10.73) and (85.50±15.49) respectively, while those of the 161 community nurses were (53.98±13.15), (75.87±8.24) and (69.81±16.75) respectively. The differences in scores between the two groups were statistically significant (P< 0.05). Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis showed that the factors related to nutritional knowledge were academic qualifications and further study at work. Academic qualifications, duration of continuous nursing for stroke patients and nutritional course in school were related to nutrition attitude. Age, academic qualifications and clinical nutrition nursing training were the main factors influencing nutrition practice scores. Conclusions? There are differences in scores of nutrition KAP between hospital and community nurses. Effective nutrition nursing training can improve nurses' KAP of nutrition for stroke patients, so as to ensure the effective development of nutrition nursing services for patients.
