Working memory is an executive memory process that includes encoding, maintenance, and retrieval. These processes can be modulated by transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) with sinusoidal waves. However, little is known about the impact of the rate of current change on working memory. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of two types of tACS with different rates of current change on working memory performance and brain activity. We applied a randomized, single-blind design and divided 81 young participants who received triangular wave tACS, sinusoidal wave tACS, or sham stimulation into three groups. Participants performed n-back tasks, and electroencephalograms were recorded before, during, and after active or sham stimulation. Compared to the baseline, working memory performance (accuracy and response time) improved after stimulation under all stimulation conditions. According to drift-diffusion model analysis, triangular wave tACS significantly increased the efficiency of non-target information processing. In addition, compared with sham conditions, triangular wave tACS reduced alpha power oscillations in the occipital lobe throughout the encoding period, while sinusoidal wave tACS increased theta power in the central frontal region only during the later encoding period. The brain network connectivity results showed that triangular wave tACS improved the clustering coefficient, local efficiency, and node degree intensity in the early encoding stage, and these parameters were positively correlated with the non-target drift rate and decision starting point. Our findings on how tACS modulates working memory indicate that triangular wave tACS significantly enhances brain network connectivity during the early encoding stage, demonstrating an improvement in the efficiency of working memory processing. In contrast, sinusoidal wave tACS increased the theta power during the later encoding stage, suggesting its potential critical role in late-stage information processing. These findings provide valuable insights into the potential mechanisms by which tACS modulates working memory.

Deutetrabenazine(DTBZ)is a selective oral small molecule inhibitor of vesicular monoamine transporter 2(VMAT2).Its pharmacological action works by inhibiting VMAT2,thereby reducing the release of presynaptic dopamine and alleviating tardive dyskinesia symptoms caused by long-term use of dopamine receptor antagonists.Compared with tetrabenazine,DTBZ has longer half-life,lower peak plasma concentration,and smaller plasma concentration fluctuations.Clinical studies demonstrate that DTBZ significantly improves abnormal involuntary movement in patients with tardive dyskinesia and has a favourable safety profile.Based on available clinical evidence and practical experience,this paper discuss the common questions about DTBZ including the suitable population,dose,duration of treatment,combination administration with antipsychotics,efficacy assessment and application in special populations.This article aimed to provide guidance and recommendations on clinical application of DTBZ for clinicians.

Objective:To explore the application effect of high-fidelity intelligent simulator combined with scenario simulation for emergency response training in the Department of Radiology, and to improve the emergency preparedness of medical, nursing, and technical staff in managing contrast agent adverse reactions.Methods:From January to July 2024, 132 medical, nursing, and technical staff from the Department of Radiology of a tertiary hospital in Chengdu City, China were selected as the training subjects. The high-fidelity intelligent simulator combined with scenario simulation teaching mode was used to conduct emergency response training for the participants. The differences in theoretical knowledge and post competence regarding contrast agent adverse reactions among the staff were compared before and after the training. A self-made questionnaire was used to investigate their needs and satisfaction of the emergency response training. SPSS 26.0 was used for data analysis. The differences in theoretical knowledge and post competence scores before and after training were compared using the paired samples t test. Results:After the training, the average score of theoretical knowledge examination increased from (84.32±10.19) points to (90.34±7.87) points, and the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.001). After the training, the scores of knowledge reserve, operational skills, situational decision-making ability, professional literacy, comprehensive literacy, and overall post competency were all significantly higher than those before the training ( P<0.05). The satisfaction score of emergency response training was (4.17±0.25) points. Conclusions:High-fidelity intelligent simulator combined with scenario simulation training improved the emergency preparedness and teamwork of radiology staff in clinical emergencies. The training received high recognition and satisfaction from the participants, which is of great significance for clinical emergency response and patient safety.

This study elaborates on the teaching reform of the "Five-year Traditional Chinese Medicine Talent Training Program for Traditional Chinese Medicine (Orthopedics Direction)" implemented by Department of Orthopedics in Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, including curriculum reform (restructuring courses, emphasizing Lingnan characteristics, and combining medical sciences with martial arts) and teaching model reform (increasing mentorship and learning from teachers, arranging one mentor for every two students, and assigning one teaching team leader for every 5-6 groups). A questionnaire survey conducted among the students of the classes 2022 and 2023 in the five-year TCM talent training program for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) majors (orthopedics direction) showed that 86.25% (69/80) of the students were satisfied with the mentorship model of "arranging one mentor for every two students", and 87.50% (70/80) of the students agreed that "the assignment of a teaching team leader can help to control teaching intensity". In terms of restructuring the curriculum system, 90.00% (72/80) of the students believed that the establishment of characteristic teaching courses could help to stimulate the enthusiasm for exploring TCM sciences, and 88.75% (71/80) of the students recognized the unique integration of textbooks, believing that it could help to understand the Lingnan school of Orthopedics. In terms of professional qualities, 90.00% (72/80) of the students agreed that the learning model of "systematic education+learning from teachers" could significantly help with the integration of knowledge, and 88.75% (71/80) of the students suggested that this model could stimulate the interest in specialized knowledge fields and motivate students to learn independently. In terms of apprenticeships with teachers, 85.00% (68/80) of the students reported that they could receive answers from teachers when asking questions, and 93.75% (75/80) of the students believed that early apprenticeship with a teacher was necessary. Some students still had a lack of understanding of learning TCM Qigong methods and believed that continuous practice took up too much personal time, failing to cultivate a good thinking of "the combination of medical sciences and martial arts", and they also believed that there were still limited opportunities for practice. The results show that the teaching model of "systematic education+learning from teachers" helps to improve the degree of satisfaction among students and cultivate clinical skills and professional qualities.

ObjectiveTo explore the possible mechanism of Changweiqing （肠胃清） in the treatment of colorectal cancer. MethodsHCT 116 cancer cells were used to prepare intestinal cancer cells with silenced polypyrimidine region binding protein 3 （PTBP3） gene and stably transfected cells with overexpressed PTBP3 gene. Stably transfected cells with silenced PTBP3， stably transfected cells with overexpressed PTBP3 and untransfected cancer cells were injected into the armpit of 72 nude mice to construct three different subcutaneous transplanted tumor models of colorectal cancer cells， including the silenced model， the overexpressed model and the control model， with 24 mice per model. Mice of each transplanted tumor modelwere randomly divided into Changweiqing （CWQ） group， oxaliplatin （OXA） group and normal saline （NS） group， with 8 mice in each group. The CWQ groups were given intragastric administration of 35.9625 g/kg of Changweiqing oral liquid and were intraperitoneally injected with 0.2ml of normal saline； the NS groups were given 0.5ml of normal saline by gavage， and intraperitoneal injection of 0.2ml of normal saline； the OXA groups were intraperitoneally injected with 5 mg/kg （0.2 ml） of oxaliplatin and given 0.5ml of normal saline by gavage. Each group was given intragastric administration once a day and intraperitoneal injection three times a week. After 31 days， the weight of subcutaneous tumors in each group was measured， and the tumor inhibition rate of the groups in each model were measured. Immunohistochemistry and other methods were used to detect the expression level of cell proliferation cell nuclear antigen Ki67 and apoptosis index. Real-time PCR and Western Blot were used to detect mRNA and protein expressions of PTBP3， signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 （STAT3） splicing isoform α （STAT3α）， STAT3 splicing isoform β （STAT3β）， B-cell lymphoma/leukemia-2 （Bcl-2） splicing isoform α （Bcl-2α）， and Bcl-2 splicing isoform β （Bcl-2β） in subcutaneous tumor cells in each group. ResultsFor all three transplanted tumor models， the weight of the subcutaneous tumors and Ki67 expression level of subcutaneous tumor tissue in all CWQ groups and OXA groups were lower than those of the corresponding NS groups， while the apoptosis level were higher （P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）. The mRNA and protein expressions of PTBP3， STAT3α， and Bcl-2α in the subcutaneous tumor tissues of the silenced model CWQ group and the overexpressed model CWQ group were lower than those of the corresponding NS groups， while the mRNA and protein expression levels of STAT3β and Bcl-2β were higher （P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）. All there groups of silenced model had lower subcutaneous tumor weight， Ki67 expression level， and mRNA and protein expression levels of PTBP3， STAT3α， and Bcl-2α in subcutaneous tumor tissue， as well as higher apoptosis level and mRNA and protein expression levels of STAT3β and Bcl-2β than those in all groups of control model； all groups of overexpressed model had higher subcutaneous tumor weight， Ki67 expression level， and mRNA and protein expression levels of PTBP3， STAT3α， and Bcl-2α ， while lower apoptosis level and mRNA and protein expression levels of STAT3β and Bcl-2β than those in all control model groups （P＜0.05 or P＜0.01）. In the control model， compared with the NS group， The tumor inhibition rate of all OXA groups was higher than that of corresponding CWQ groups， respectively. Compared to that of each control model group， the tumor inhibition rate was positive value of each silenced model group， and negative value of each overexpressed model group. ConclusionPTBP3 can promote the proliferation and inhibit apoptosis of intestinal cancer cells， upregulate the expression of STAT3α and Bcl-2α， and downregulate the expression of STAT3β and Bcl-2β in intestinal cancer cells. The meachnism of action of Changweiqing in the treatment of colorectal cancer maybe related to the inhibition of PTBP3， and regulation of the expression of STAT3α， STAT3β， Bcl-2α， and Bcl-2β.

Objective:To explore the application of the 4R problem analysis method combined with reverse teaching in nursing teaching in the pediatric operating room.Methods:In this study, 480 nursing students who were assigned to the operating room of Hunan Children's Hospital for internship from August 2020 to August 2022 were selected as research subjects. They were divided into control group and observation group in order of admission, with 240 students in each group. The control group received traditional teaching, while the observation group received the 4R problem analysis method combined with reverse teaching. At the end of the internship, the two groups were compared for comprehensive ability assessment scores, recognition of nursing teaching, and degree of satisfaction with the teaching. The t-test and χ2 test were performed using SPSS 22.0. Results:The scores of theoretical knowledge, basic nursing skills, specialized nursing skills in the operating room, and comprehensive nursing skill assessment of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group ( P<0.05). The recognition of nursing teaching among the nursing interns in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group ( P<0.001). There was a significant difference in the degree of satisfaction with the teaching between the two groups of nursing interns ( χ2=118.35, P<0.001). Conclusions:The 4R problem analysis method combined with reverse teaching can effectively improve the nursing teaching quality and the degree of satisfaction with the teaching among nursing interns in the pediatric operating room, enabling them to better grasp theoretical and practical skills.

With the increase in age,the oral function of older adults shows an age-related decline,which limits the types,quantity,and quality of their diet.Limited dietary intake can lead to a lack of basic nutrients needed for maintaining oral health,induce a series of oral diseases,and further aggravate the deterioration of oral functions.Oral frailty is the accumulation of mild oral function decline and is an emerging concept in the field of oral health.Currently,research on oral frailty and dietary intake mostly focuses on the impact of single-dimensional oral function decline on the dietary intake,dietary structure,and dietary satisfaction of older adults,as well as the impact of different dietary structures on the status of oral health among older adults.There is still a lack of large-sample,high-quality research on the relationship between comprehensive oral function decline and dietary intake.In addition,existing oral frailty intervention measures often place a narrow emphasis on the exercise and recovery of oral function without considering the impact of dietary intake and nutritional status on the development of oral frailty.Relevant research on taking dietary intake as an entry point or using it as a comprehensive intervention method also needs to be further explored by researchers.In the future,specialized assessment and screening of dietary status may be introduced in the routine health management practices for older adults.Furthermore,targeted intervention programs could also be proposed based on the characteristics of the oral status and the dietary intake habits of older adults,so as to prevent the functional decline related to dietary intake and nutritional supplementation.Herein,we reviewed the correlation between dietary intake and oral frailty to provide new ideas and directions for formulating comprehensive management strategies for oral frailty.
