Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of different ligation methods in laparoscopic radi-cal resection of rectal cancer and sigmoid colon cancer and the influencing factors of anastomotic leakage. Methods A total of 82 patients who underwent laparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancer and sigmoid co-lon cancer in this hospital from December 2022 to December 2023 were selected and divided into the low-liga-tion group(n=42)and the high-ligation group(n=40)according to different surgical methods. The inferior mesenteric artery(IMA)classification,IMA length, operation time, intraoperative blood loss, total number of lymph node dissections, number of lymph node dissections in group 253,postoperative hospital stay, exhaust time, incidence of urinary retention, incidence of anastomotic leakage, and incidence of preventive stoma were compared between the two groups.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were conducted to analyze the influencing factors of anastomotic leakage in patients undergoing radical resection of rectal cancer and sigmoid colon cancer. Results There was no statistically significant difference in IMA length,IMA classi-fication proportion, operation time, intraoperative blood loss, the total number of lymph node dissections, the number of lymph node dissections in group 253,and the postoperative hospital stay between the two groups(P>0.05).Compared with the high-ligation group, the low-ligation group had a shorter exhaust time, lower incidence of anastomotic leakage and preventive ostomy, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Anastomotic leakage occurred in 7 patients.Univariate analysis showed that whether left colic artery(LCA)was preserved, tumor location, presence of underlying diseases, and preventive stoma were associated with anastomotic leakage in patients undergoing radical resection of rectal cancer and sigmoid colon cancer(P<0.05).Multivariate logistics analysis showed that whether LCA was preserved, tumor location, presence of underlying diseases, and presence of preventive stoma were not influencing factors for anastomotic leakage in patients undergoing radical resection of rectal cancer or sigmoid colon cancer(P>0.05).Conclusion In laparoscopic radical resection of rectal and sigmoid colon cancer, the clinical efficacy of preserving LCA is com-parable to that of not preserving LCA,and it can reduce the risk of anastomotic leakage and the probability of preventive stoma, promoting the early recovery of intestinal function.

Deutetrabenazine(DTBZ)is a selective oral small molecule inhibitor of vesicular monoamine transporter 2(VMAT2).Its pharmacological action works by inhibiting VMAT2,thereby reducing the release of presynaptic dopamine and alleviating tardive dyskinesia symptoms caused by long-term use of dopamine receptor antagonists.Compared with tetrabenazine,DTBZ has longer half-life,lower peak plasma concentration, and smaller plasma concentration fluctuations.Clinical studies demonstrate that DTBZ significantly improves abnormal involuntary movement in patients with tardive dyskinesia and has a favourable safety profile.Based on available clinical evidence and practical experience, this paper discuss the common questions about DTBZ including the suitable population, dose, duration of treatment, combination administration with antipsychotics, efficacy assessment and application in special populations. This article aimed to provide guidance and recommendations on clinical application of DTBZ for clinicians.

This study elaborates on the teaching reform of the "Five-year Traditional Chinese Medicine Talent Training Program for Traditional Chinese Medicine (Orthopedics Direction)" implemented by Department of Orthopedics in Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, including curriculum reform (restructuring courses, emphasizing Lingnan characteristics, and combining medical sciences with martial arts) and teaching model reform (increasing mentorship and learning from teachers, arranging one mentor for every two students, and assigning one teaching team leader for every 5-6 groups). A questionnaire survey conducted among the students of the classes 2022 and 2023 in the five-year TCM talent training program for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) majors (orthopedics direction) showed that 86.25% (69/80) of the students were satisfied with the mentorship model of "arranging one mentor for every two students", and 87.50% (70/80) of the students agreed that "the assignment of a teaching team leader can help to control teaching intensity". In terms of restructuring the curriculum system, 90.00% (72/80) of the students believed that the establishment of characteristic teaching courses could help to stimulate the enthusiasm for exploring TCM sciences, and 88.75% (71/80) of the students recognized the unique integration of textbooks, believing that it could help to understand the Lingnan school of Orthopedics. In terms of professional qualities, 90.00% (72/80) of the students agreed that the learning model of "systematic education+learning from teachers" could significantly help with the integration of knowledge, and 88.75% (71/80) of the students suggested that this model could stimulate the interest in specialized knowledge fields and motivate students to learn independently. In terms of apprenticeships with teachers, 85.00% (68/80) of the students reported that they could receive answers from teachers when asking questions, and 93.75% (75/80) of the students believed that early apprenticeship with a teacher was necessary. Some students still had a lack of understanding of learning TCM Qigong methods and believed that continuous practice took up too much personal time, failing to cultivate a good thinking of "the combination of medical sciences and martial arts", and they also believed that there were still limited opportunities for practice. The results show that the teaching model of "systematic education+learning from teachers" helps to improve the degree of satisfaction among students and cultivate clinical skills and professional qualities.

Chinese Journal of Health Statistics 2024;41(2):167-174
Objective To compare the existing evaluation methods of sample's representativeness and provide reference for selection of sample representativeness evaluation methods in clinical research. Methods Simulate the target population of lung cancer patients and select samples with different sample sizes and different degrees of deviation based on the distribution of traits of lung cancer patients in China and the actual situation of sample screening in domestic clinical studies.Calculate sample representativeness using the existing evaluation methods of sample's representativeness, and calculate estimation deviation(bias).By constructing the correlation model between the measured value of each method and bias, analyze the accuracy and stability of each method. Results The overall structural variance rate RV1、RV2、C-statistic based on propensity score、SGCR and K-S distance could well measure the degrees of deviation of different samples.Under different sample sizes, the R2 of RV2 and RV1 are greater than 0.90,and R2 of C-Statistic、SGCR and K-S distance were greater than 0.80.Conclusion The overall structural variance rate is more accurate and stable because the traits weight is taken into account. In particular,RV2 can better measure the representativeness of samples with different degrees of deviation and accurately reflect the estimation deviation. However, when it is difficult to obtain the feature importance information, the reliability of the representative measurement of SGCR as well as C-statistic and K-S distance used the propensity score-based method are acceptable.

Chinese Journal of Modern Applied Pharmacy 2024;41(1):18-26
OBJECTIVE
To study the best extraction process of β-asarone from Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma by ethanol heating reflux method, and to explore the antioxidant activity of different segments.
METHODS
With β-asarone from Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma as the evaluation index to optimize the extraction method. On the basis of a single factor experiment, the effects of ethanol concentration, solid-liquid ratio and extraction time on the extraction amount of β-asarone from Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma were investigated by orthogonal design and response surface methodology. After the optimal extraction process was determined, the antioxidant activities of different segments were studied.
RESULTS
The optimum extraction process of β-asarone from Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma was as follows: ethanol concentration was 95%, solid-liquid ratio was 1∶20 g·mL–1 and extraction time was 2.5 h. Under these conditions, the extraction amount of β-asarone from Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma was 0.918 7 mg·g–1. The results of in vitro antioxidant activity showed that the order of antioxidant capacity was ethyl acetate>petroleum ether>ethanol>n-butanol. Among them, the ethyl acetate fraction had the strongest antioxidant activity, with good ability to scavenge DPPH and ABTS free radicals, and had certain reduction ability.
CONCLUSION
The optimized method is stable, reliable and simple, which can be used for extraction and antioxidant activity determination of β-asarone from Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma, and provides a basis for the further development of Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma.
