Objective To develop the Ego Depletion Scale for Type 2 Diabetes Patients and evaluate its reliability and validity, and to provide a specific assessment tool for evaluating ego-depletion in self-management.Methods Guided by the self-control strength model, the initial scale was constructed through literature review,semi-structured interviews,2 rounds of expert consultation, and a pilot survey.A convenience sampling method was employed to recruit 460 patients with Type 2 Diabetes from the endocrinology department of a tertiary hospital in Wuhan,Hubei Province, between April and July 2024.They were randomly divided into 2 subsets for exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. Results A total of 451 valid questionnaires were collected.Exploratory factor analysis extracted 6 common factors, with a cumulative variance contribution of 73.231%.In confirmatory factor analysis,an item was deleted due to failing to meet the standardized loading value criterion. The revised Ego Depletion Scale for Type 2 Diabetes Patients comprised 6 dimensions and 22 items. The total Cronbach's α coefficient was 0.911;split-half reliability was 0.744;the content validity index was 0.860.Correlation coefficients between the total score and scores of each dimension of the scale and the total score of the Self-Regulatory Fatigue Scale ranged from 0.558 to 0.946(P<0.001).Conclusion The scale exhibits robust reliability and validity, serving as a scientifically instrument for assessing ego depletion in patients with Type 2 Diabetes.

Objective To investigate the role of Sneathia sanguinegens(S.sanguinegens)in the development of unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion(URSA).Methods A case-control study was conducted to analyze the vaginal flora characteristics of 65 patients with URSA and 18 healthy controls through 16S rRNA gene sequencing.Toxicity profile of S.sanguinegens on human cervical cancer cells(ME-180),human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVEC)and human placental choriocarcinoma cells(JEG-3)was analyzed at the cellular level to assess the mechanism of it in adverse pregnancy outcomes. And S.sanguinegens was used to infect C57BL/6J mice to explore the toxic effect on living organisms. Results The relative abundance of Sneathia was increased in patients with URSA compared with healthy controls. It was positively correlated with the number of miscarriages, and was attributed to S.sanguinegens.We also found that S.sanguinegens damaged ME-180,JEG-3 and HUVEC cells. The degree of cellular damage was related to the level of S.sanguinegens added.Intravenous infection with S.sanguinegens caused inflammatory damage in several organs and extramedullary hematopoiesis in the spleen. Conclusion S.sanguinegens is closely related to URSA and should be emphasized in patients with high vaginal bacterial load.

High mobility group box protein 1(HMGB1)is one of the most widely expressed protein member in the HMGs family, which is well known for its involvement in the body inflammatory response.Previous researches have found that it plays a significant role in cell migration, immune identification and neuroprotection.Spinal cord injury is a disease that causes severe damage to the nervous system, and neural circuits are disrupted after a spinal cord injury, which leads to many conditions including ischemia and hypoxia, inflammatory responses, demyelinating lesions, and glial scar formation that are detrimental to nerve regeneration and repair, making it one of the most difficult diseases to treat in the modern spinal surgery field.HMGB1 is upregulated after spinal cord injury, thereby regulating neuroinflam-matory responses, and participating in the neuronal apoptosis, promoting neuronal regeneration, and inducing neural stem cell differentiation and migration, which plays an important role in the process of neural function recovery. This paper summarizes the structure and function of HMGB1,as well as its role in spinal cord injury,in order to provide direction for founding therapeutic target for neurological function recovery after spinal cord injury.

Background and Aims:Reconstructing huge abdominal wall defects after abdominal wall tumor resection is a significant challenge for surgeons. Here,we summarize the experience of our team in repairing these defects using an anterolateral thigh chimeric perforator flap combined with artificial materials, within a multidisciplinary collaborative framework, aiming to provide a reference for other practitioners. Methods:The clinicopathologic data of 7 patients who underwent primary reconstruction of large abdominal wall defects after malignant tumor resection, using an anterolateral thigh chimeric perforator flap combined with artificial materials,at Xiangya Hospital,Central South University, between October 2019 and April 2024,were retrospectively analyzed. The clinical outcomes were evaluated. Results:All 7 patients successfully underwent both tumor resection and primary abdominal wall reconstruction without surgery-related mortality. The wound in all patients healed in one stage, with no severe complications such as surgical site infections or flap necrosis.During a follow-up period of 6 to 54 months,2 patients experienced tumor recurrence, one of whom died(exact cause unknown),while the other continued anti-tumor treatment. The remaining 5 patients were alive without recurrence. One patient developed abdominal wall bulging, but no obvious incisional hernia occurred in any of the patients. Conclusion:The use of an anterolateral thigh chimeric perforator flap combined with artificial materials for repairing large abdominal wall defects after abdominal tumor resection can achieve satisfactory therapeutic outcomes. This approach is a feasible and safe method for abdominal wall reconstruction.

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2025;32(2):175-178
Postoperative lower limb lymphedema following gynecological malignancies can be categorized under TCM concepts of"edema"and"meridian obstruction".Professor Jia Liqun believes that the underlying deficiency lies in yang and blood deficiency, while the excess is characterized by dampness and blood stasis obstructing the meridians.Consequently, the treatment strategies include warming yang and nourishing blood to unblock the meridians, dispelling dampness and promoting diuresis to unblock the meridians, and transforming stasis and promoting diuresis to unblock the meridians.Clinical practice requires dynamic syndrome differentiation and treatment according to the disease progression.Additionally,Professor Jia often employs the external application of Wenjing Tongluo Powder to directly target the affected area, combining internal and external treatments to enhance the effect of unblocking the meridians and reducing swelling.
