ObjectiveTo investigate the correlation between neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) and the severity of intrauterine adhesions (IUA). MethodsThe retrospective study included 380 patients who underwent transcervical resection of adhesions (TCRA) from December 2019 to March 2025. Based on the American Fertility Society (AFS) classification, patients were divided into mild (n=61), moderate (n=225), and severe (n=94) groups. NLR, PLR, and SII were calculated from preoperative blood tests. Statistical analyses included Kruskal-Wallis test and ordinal Logistic regression. ResultsNLR, PLR, and SII were significantly higher in the severe IUA group compared to the mild group (P<0.05), with SII showing the strongest predictive ability (OR=1.004, P=0.001). The number of intrauterine procedures was an independent risk factor (OR=1.27/level, P=0.016). The predictive model [Logit(P)=-0.676+0.241×operation times+0.004×SII] effectively identified severe IUA cases. ConclusionInflammatory markers (particularly SII) are correlated with IUA severity and may serve as non-invasive tools for clinical assessment.

OBJECTIVE To explore the effects of Lishukang capsules on hypoxic pulmonary artery hypertension (HPAH) rats by regulating the HIF-1α/NF-κB signaling pathway. METHODS Sixty rats were randomly divided into control group, model group, positive control group (sildenafil, 30 mg/kg), Lishukang low-, medium- and high-dose groups (Lishukang capsules 6, 12, 18 g/kg), with 10 rats in each group. Except for control group, the HPAH model was induced by intermittent hypoxia method (simulating an altitude of 5 000 m) in other groups; at the same time, they were given relevant medicine or normal saline intragastrically, for consecutive 28 days. Within 24 hours of the last administration, the mean pulmonary artery pressure (MPAP) and right ventricule hypertrophy index (RVHI) of rats were detected; pathological morphology of lung tissue was observed, and the expression of α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), mRNA expressions of HIF-1α and NF-κB as well as protein expressions of HIF-1α and NF-κB p65 in lung tissue were determined. RESULTS Compared with model group, MPAP and RVHI in Lishukang medium- and high-dose groups and positive control group were all decreased significantly (P<0.05); the expression of α-SMA, mRNA expressions of HIF-1α and NF-κB, and protein expressions of HIF-1α and NF-κB p65 in lung tissue were all decreased significantly (P<0.05); additionally, pulmonary vascular remodeling was improved to varying degrees. CONCLUSIONS Lishukang capsules may protect HPAH rats, the mechanism of which may be associated with inhibiting the HIF-1α/NF- κB signaling pathway.

Objective:To evaluate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of HEMO-FISS-QoL(HF-QoL) questionnaire (HF-QoL-C) in the Chinese population with hemorrhoids. Methods:From November 2021 to November 2022, a self-constructed general information questionnaire, HF-QoL-C, and the 36-item short form health survey (SF-36), Goligher classification, and Giordano severity of hemorrhoid symptom questionnaire (GSQ) were used to conduct a questionnaire survey on 760 hemorrhoid patients in the anorectal department of six hospitals. The data was analyzed for reliability and validity using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 26.0 software. Results:The Cronbach's α coefficient of HF-QoL-C and its dimension ranged from 0.831 to 0.960, and the split coefficient was 0.832-0.915. Four common factors were extracted through principal component exploratory factor analysis. Confirmatory factor analysis indicated acceptable structural validity( χ2/ df=8.152, RSMEA=0.097, CFI=0.881, IFI=0.881, NFI=0.867). HF-QoL-C was correlated with SF36 and GSQ( r=-0.694, 0.501, both P<0.01). There were differences in the total score and dimensional scores of HF-QoL-C between surgical and drug treated patients, different grades of Goligher classification for hemorrhoidal disease, and different ranges of hemorrhoid prolapse (all P<0.001). No ceiling effect was found in the total score and the scores of each dimension(0.3%-2.0%). There was a floor effect in both psychological function and sexual activity dimensions (16.7%, 35.1%). Conclusion:HF-QoL-C has good reliability and validity, which can be used to measure the quality of life of Chinese hemorrhoid patients.

Chest trauma is one of the most common injuries. Venous thromboembolism (VTE) as a common complication of chest trauma seriously affects the quality of patients′ life and even leads to death. Although there are some consensus and guidelines on the prevention and treatment of VTE at home and abroad, the current literatures lack specificity considering the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of VTE in patients with chest trauma have their own characteristics, especially for those with blunt trauma. Accordingly, China Chest Injury Research Society and editorial board of Chinese Journal of Traumatology organized relevant domestic experts to jointly formulate the Chinese expert consensus on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of chest trauma venous thromboembolism associated with chest trauma (2022 version). This consensus provides expert recommendations of different levels as academic guidance in terms of the characteristics, clinical manifestations, risk assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of chest trauma-related VTE, so as to offer a reference for clinical application.

Cognition and pain share common neural substrates and interact reciprocally: chronic pain compromises cognitive performance, whereas cognitive processes modulate pain perception. In the present study, we established a non-drug-dependent rat model of context-based analgesia, where two different contexts (dark and bright) were matched with a high (52°C) or low (48°C) temperature in the hot-plate test during training. Before and after training, we set the temperature to the high level in both contexts. Rats showed longer paw licking latencies in trials with the context originally matched to a low temperature than those to a high temperature, indicating successful establishment of a context-based analgesic effect in rats. This effect was blocked by intraperitoneal injection of naloxone (an opioid receptor antagonist) before the probe. The context-based analgesic effect also disappeared after optogenetic activation or inhibition of the bilateral infralimbic or prelimbic sub-region of the prefrontal cortex. In brief, we established a context-based, non-drug dependent, placebo-like analgesia model in the rat. This model provides a new and useful tool for investigating the cognitive modulation of pain.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2016;43(9):376-380
Objective:To evaluate high-risk human papillomavirus (hrHPV) genotyping and viral load in predicting CIN (cervical intraepi-thelial neoplasia (CIN) grade 2 or worse in a Chinese rural area population with limited health resources. Methods:We performed a population-based prospective study and enrolled 2,257 women aged 35 to 64 years from three rural screening sites of Jiangxi prov-ince. We conducted a hybrid capture (HC-2) assay to predict viral load. A HC-2 relative light unit (RLU) threshold of 10 was set to differ-entiate samples between low (<10) and high (≥10) viral loads. We also carried out a HybriMax test to detect different hrHPV geno-types in the samples. Women exhibiting positive HC-2 or HybriMax results underwent colposcopy and colposcopically directed biopsy. Women with negative or positive hrHPV test results but with normal biopsy or CIN1 were followed-up for 24 months without interven-tion (n=2,211). We used histopathological findings as outcome. Results:Of the 2,211 women, 1,636 provided complete follow-up data. Of the 132 women with a high viral load, 4 (3.03%) developed CIN2+in the same period. The relative risk (RR) of CIN2+for HC-2 posi-tivity at baseline was 42.24 (95%CI=4.76-375.2). Of the 159 women who were positive for HPV16 or HPV18 upon screening, 4 (2.52%) progressed to CIN2+(RR=33.06, 95%CI=3.72-293.9). The 2-year cumulative incidence rates of CIN2+did not significantly differ be-tween the high viral load group and the HPV16/18 group. Conclusion:The risks of CIN2+progression were higher among women with a high viral load or HPV16/18 positivity than among women with negative hrHPV. Increasing the HC-2 cut-off value to 10 RLU or using HPV16/18 positivity may be similarly used to triage hrHPV-positive women for immediate colposcopy and comprehensive follow-up.Both approaches were equally predictive of the CIN2+risk in rural area. Increasing the HC-2 cut-off value to 10 RLU may also help allo-cate health resources effectively.

Journal of Shenyang Medical College 2016;18(6):440-444
Objective:To compare the effectiveness of proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) with intertrochanteric antegrade nail (InterTAN) in the treatment of intertrochanteric fractures in the elderly. Methods:A retrospective study of 62 elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures who received two operation methods from Sep 2014 to May 2016 was done. There were 28 patients in PFNA group, and 34 patients in InterTAN group. The operation time, blood loss in operation, hospitalization time, healing time, and Harris hip joint functional score were compared and analyzed. Results:Operation time and the amount of intraoperative blood loss in PFNA group were less than that in InterTAN group. Hospitalization time, fracture healing time and Harris hip joint functional score after ten months had no significant difference between the two groups. And 59 cases in total were followed up with an average of 11.5 months (from 9 to 16 months) . In PFNA group, 27 patients were followed up, and one patient was lost to follow up, who died because of chronic renal insufficiency. The rest 26 patients all achieved bony union (including one case of hip versus) . At follow-up 9 months, hip joint function was excellent in 18 cases, good in 6, fair in 2, bad in 1, and the excellent-good rate was 88.9%. In InterTAN group,32 patients were followed up,and two cases were lost to follow up. In followed-up cases, there was one patient who was no healing of fracture. After hip arthroplasty, this patient got recovery. The hip joint function was excellent in 21 cases, good in 7, fair in 3, and bad in 1. The differences between the two groups were not statisticaly significant. Conclusion:Both PFNA and InterTAN can treat intertrochanteric fractures in the elderly with good result, but PFNA has obvious advantages over InterTAN on less hemorrhage and operation time.
