BACKGROUND:The distribution of horizontal pressure in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis can be used to evaluate the coronal imbalance.Currently, there are no reports on the characteristics of coronal pressure distribution and its correlation with coronal imbalance. OBJECTIVE:To explore the correlation between coronal pressure variation and coronal imbalance in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients. METHODS:A total of 39 adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria in Lianyungang First People's Hospital from March 2021 to June 2022 were selected as the adolescent idiopathic scoliosis group, and 30 matched healthy volunteers were recruited from the outpatient department as the control group. The horizontal position pressure, folding position pressure, coefficient of variation, and global and trunk pressure variation were measured by the TBED Postural Couch evaluation system. In the adolescent idiopathic scoliosis group,full-length spine radiographs were taken to measure Cobb angle, coronal balance, apical vertebral deviation and Nash-Moe rotation. The characteristics of coronal pressure variation and its correlation with coronal imbalance were analyzed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Compared with the control group, there was no statistically significant difference in the horizontal position pressure and folding position pressure in the adolescent idiopathic scoliosis group(P>0.05),but the global pressure variation and coefficient of variation were significantly increased(all P<0.05).(2)There were differences in both sides of the trunk of the adolescent idiopathic scoliosis group and the control group(P<0.05),and the convex side pressure variation in the adolescent idiopathic scoliosis group was higher than the concave side pressure variation in the left and right side pressure variation in the control group(all P<0.05).(3)The variation of the convex side pressure of the trunk in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients was positively correlated with coronal balance intensity(r=0.692,P<0.05),moderately positively correlated with Cobb angle and apical vertebral deviation(r=0.499,0.595,all P<0.05),and weakly correlated with Nash-Moe grade(r=0.377,P<0.05).The variation of the concave side pressure of the trunk was moderately positively correlated with coronal balance(r=0.410,P<0.05),and the rest was weakly correlated or not correlated(P>0.05).(4)These findings indicate that pressure variation may be used as an adjoint assessment tool in patients with mild to moderate scoliosis.

Objective This study is focused on ultrasound multimodality examination, which refers to the combined use of three ultrasound examination modalities, ultrasound(US),acoustic radiation force impulse(ARFI)imaging, and contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS).The purpose of this study is to analyze the value of applying ultrasound multimodality examination in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast non-mass-like lesions(NMLs).Methods Cases of breast NMLs were analyzed retrospectively, and the nature of all the lesions was verified by pathological examination.Based on the gray-scale ultrasound image characteristics, the cases were classified into types Ⅰto Ⅴ,and type Ⅰ and type Ⅱ were further classified into 4 subtypes,Ⅰa,Ⅰ b,Ⅱ a,and Ⅱ b,according to whether there was also calcification, and the proportion of malignant cases in each subtype was statistically analyzed.Logistic regression models of US,US+ARFI,US+CEUS,and US+ARFI+CEUS for the diagnosis of malignant cases were established,ROC curves were drawn, the area under the curve(AUC)was calculated, and comparisons were made accordingly. The detection rate of malignant NMLs without calcification(atypical malignant NMLs)by the combination examination of US,ARFI,and CEUS was analyzed. Results A total of 407 cases were included in the study. All subjects were female, aged 22 to 81 years, with the average age being(47.0±1 1.0)years.There were 220 benign cases and 187 malignant cases.Ranked from the highest to the lowest, the malignancy proportion of the different types wasⅠb>Ⅱb>Ⅲ>V>Ⅰa>Ⅱa>Ⅳ.The malignant proportion of the low echo area with calcification was significantly higher than that of the lesions without calcification. The AUC(95%confidence interval[CI])for diagnosing malignant cases with the logistic regression models of US,US+ARFI,US+CEUS,and US+ARFI+CEUS were 0.895(0.862-0.927),0.908(0.878-0.937),0.921(0.893-0.948),and 0.927(0.902-0.952),respectively.Comparison of the AUC of the 4 regression models showed significant differences(P<0.001).The detection rate of US for NMLs without calcification was 80.7%.When US was used in combination with ARFI and CEUS,86.4%of the malignant NMLs lesions without calcification could be detected if the lesion CEUS score was 4 or 5 points or if shear-wave velocity(SWV)≥4.28 m/s.Conclusion Breast NMLs with calcification show high risks of malignancy, and a pathological examination is always recommended for a conclusive diagnosis.Ultrasound multimodality examination can improve the diagnostic accuracy of breast NML without calcification.

Objective To determine new delhi metallo-β-lactamase-1 (NDM-1 )gene in strains of gram-negative bacilli with de-creased sensitivity to carbapenems, and to investigate the epidemic situation of strains carrying NDM-1 gene in Guangzhou area. Methods 105 strains of gram-negative bacilli with decreased sensitivity to carbapenems isolated from 201 1 to 2014 were collected. The conserved sequences of NDM-1 gene were screened initially by using polymerase chain reaction(PCR)amplification, and posi-tive strains were confirmed by PCR amplification of the whole sequence. Then NDM-1 gene was cloned into plasmid pUCm-T and sequenced. Results The resistance rates of Enterobacteriaceae bacteria against meropenem, ertapenem and imipenem were 29.09%, 50.91% and 29.09%,respectively.All strains of Acinetobacter baumanii were resistant to meropenem and imipenem. The resist-ance rates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa against meropenem and imipenem both were 88.46%.4 strains were NDM-1 gene positive, including 1 strain of Klebsiella pneumoniae,2 strains of Escherichia coli,1 strain of Enterobacter cloacae.Successful establishment of cloning plasmid pUCm-T-NDM-1 was confirmed by using double enzyme digestion and sequencing. The sequencing results were compared with BLAST,it was showed that the sequences were exactly the same in four cloned plasmids, and sequences of NDM-1 were also exactly the same with those in domestic and foreign. Conclusion Strains of NDM-1 producing gram-negative bacilli exist in Guangzhou area, and whole sequence of NDM-1 gene carried in these strains are exactly the same with those found in foreign.

Objective To understand the potential risk for schistosomiasis transmission caused by introduction of infection source from mobile population in Shanghai. Methods Field investigation was conducted in the suburb of Shanghai City by screening the mobile population living in Shanghai for more than 1 month and over 1 years old in a procedure of interviewing, serum indirect hemagglutination (IHA) test, and then fecal examination to detect the eggs with nylon sedimentation approach for those IHA positives. Results Among 2 931 mobile people investigated, 1 575 were male (53.74%) and 1 356 were female(46.26%); 138 out of 2 931 were positive in IHA test (4.71%). 1 938 (66.12%) out of 2 931 came from Schistosoma japonicum-endemic provinces and its positive rate in mobile population (5.99%) was significantly higher than those from the transmission-interrupted provinces (2.6%) (?2=10.28, P
