Danggui Liuhuangtang is the 47^th of the 100 famous classical formulas published by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine， and is known as the holy medicine for night sweat. By bibliometrics， the authors collected the ancient books on Danggui Liuhuangtang and screened out 269 valid data， involving 156 ancient books of traditional Chinese medicine. The analysis on the historical origin， disease syndromes， pathogenesis， composition， dosage， preparation， usage， and processing of Danggui Liuhuangtang found that this famous classical formula originated from Secret Book of the Orchid Chamber （《兰室秘藏》） written by LI Dongyuan， and is composed of Angelicae Sinensis Radix， Rehmanniae Radix， Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata， Phellodendri Chinensis Cortex， Scutellariae Radix， Coptidis Rhizoma and Astragali Radix. It has the functions of nourishing Yin， reducing fire， consolidating exterior and stopping sweating， and mainly treats night sweat due to Yin deficiency and fire exuberance. In the later generations， disease syndromes are mostly treated based on LI Dongyuan's theory， and have expanded to more than 30 kinds （339 in total）， among which night sweat （208） was the most， accounting for 61.36% of the total disease syndromes， followed by spontaneous sweating （38）， accounting for 11.21%. Additionally， it was found that Danggui Liuhuangtang was widely used in modern clinical practice for various disease syndromes. Among them， endocrine disease （77， 28.21%） was predominant， followed by gynecological disease （48， 17.58%）， and pediatric disease （24， 8.79%）. Although Danggui Liuhuangtang treats many disease syndromes， their pathogenesis was always yin deficiency and fire exuberance. Through the systematic excavation of the ancient books on Danggui Liuhuangtang and the analysis of its modern clinical application， this paper probed into the historical evolution and confirmed the key information of the formula， providing detailed literature basis for the research and development application of famous classical formulas.

Established in 2017, the Screening Cohort for Asian Nomadic descendants in China (Scan-China) has benefited over 180,000 members of a multi-ethnic population, particularly individuals of Mongolian descent compared with the general population (Han ethnicity), in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China. This cohort study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of cancer screening and serve as a real-world data platform for cancer studies. The 6 most prevalent cancers in China are considered—namely, breast, lung, colorectal, gastric, liver and esophageal cancer. After baseline cancer risk assessments and screening tests, both active and passive follow-up (based on the healthcare insurance database, cancer registry, the front page of hospital medical records, and death certificates) will be conducted to trace participants’ onset and progression of cancers and other prevalent chronic diseases. Scan-China has preliminarily found a disproportionately lower screening participation rate and higher incidence/mortality rates of esophageal and breast cancer among the Mongolian population than among their Han counterparts. Further research will explore the cancer burden, natural history, treatment patterns, and risk factors of the target cancers.

Qingweisan is one of the classical prescriptions commonly used in the treatment of oral diseases. By means of Bibliometrics， the authors collected the ancient books on Qingweisan and sifted out 411 valid data， involving 116 classics of traditional Chinese medicine. The historical origin， drug composition， indications， principle of composition， dosage，and preparation of Qingweisan were statistically analyzed， and it was found that the prescription originated from the Treatise on Spleen and Stomach（《脾胃论》） by LI Dongyuan and is composed of Rehmanniae Radix， Angelica Sinensis， Cortex Moutan， Coptidis Rhizoma and Cimicifugae Rhizoma， with the functions of clearing stomach， purging fire， cooling blood and dispersing depression. And Qingweisan was mainly used to treat toothache， headache， and preference for cold and aversion to heat caused by "excessive heat in yang brightness meridian". There were 352 indications recorded， most of which followed LI Dongyuan's theory and the expanded indications reached 70 kinds. Specifically， toothache （132） was the most， accounting for 22.49% of the total indications， followed by headache （60， 10.22%）. In addition， Qingweisan was widely used in modern clinical practice for multiple system diseases， among which oral system （197） was dominant， accounting for 72.69%， followed by skin system （28， 10.33%） and digestive system （27， 9.96%）. Although the indications were wide， the pathogenesis always belonged to "upward attack of stomach fire". Through the excavation and statistical analysis of the ancient books on Qingweisan and its modern clinical application， the authors aimed to provide a more scientific reference for the research and application of classical famous prescriptions.

Shengyang Yiweitang is one of the first 100 classical prescriptions published by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It originated from the Clarifying Doubts about Damage from Internal and External Causes by physician LI Dongyuan of Jin dynasty， and is composed of Astragali Radix， Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma， Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma， Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma， Poria， Pinelliae Rhizoma， Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium， Angelicae Pubescentis Radix， Saposhnikoviae Radix， Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix， Bupleuri Radix， Paeoniae Radix Alba， Alismatis Rhizoma， and Coptidis Rhizoma. With the effects of replenishing Qi， promoting Yang， clearing heat and removing dampness， Shengyang Yiweitang is used to treat spleen-stomach weakness and dampness-heat accumulation syndrome. Using bibliometrics， the authors systematically sorted out the source，composition， dosage， preparation， efficacy， indications， principle of composition， origin and processing of drugs，and modern clinical application of the prescription， and explored its history and key information. Additionally， it was found that Shengyang Yiweitang was widely used in modern clinical practice and was suitable for multisystem diseases， of which digestive system （264） was the most common， accounting for 41.71%， followed by urogenital system （57， 9.00%） and nervous system （48， 7.58%）. Although the treatment scope was wide， the pathogenesis of the diseases in traditional Chinese medicine belongs to "spleen-stomach weakness"， which fully reflected Li's academic thought of "internal injury of spleen and stomach leads to various diseases". The key information of Shengyang Yiweitang was determined by summarizing the relevant ancient books and modern literature， so as to provide accurate reference for its rational clinical application and further research and development.

Objective: To investigate the physical and intellectual development and mutation characteristics of the phenylalanine hydroxylase (PAH) gene among 53 newborns with phenylketonuria (PKU), so as to provide insights into the management and genetic counseling of PKU Methods: The medical records of 54 children with definitive diagnosis of PKU and standardized therapy until 2 years at the Center for Neonatal Disease Screening of Shanxi Children' s Hospital from 2018 to 2021 were collected. Newborns' body weight and height developments were evaluated using the World Health Organization growth chart (2006 version), and the intellectual development was assessed using the national criteria of Development Behavior Assessment Scale among Children at Ages of 0 to 6 Years (WS/T 580-2017). The gene mutations were detected among neonates and their children, and the physical, intellectual developments and genetic characteristics of neonates with PKU were descriptively analyzed. Results: The 53 PKU cases included 29 male children and 24 female children, 36 cases with classic PKU and 17 cases with mild PKU, and 30 cases from rural areas and 23 cases from urban areas. The study subjects had a median age of 30 (10) d at initial therapy, and a mean blood phenylalanine concentration of (1 507±685) μmol/L at definitive diagnosis. There were 52 cases with normal height developments (98.11%), and all cases had normal weight and intellectual developments. The mean developmental functional quotient (DFQ) was significantly greater among urban children with PKU than among rural children [(94.92±8.57) vs. (87.65±6.57); t=-3.498, P=0.001], and the mean DFQ was significantly higher among children with mild PKU than among those with classic PKU [(95.55±8.76) vs. (88.57±7.11); t=-3.095, P=0.003]. There were 37 mutations detected in the PAH gene, which were mainly distributed in exons 3, 6, 7, 11, 12 and intron 4. Three high-frequency mutation sites were detected, including c.728G>A, c.611A>G and c.1197A>T, including three novel mutations (c.674C>G, c.1316-2A>C and c.1069T>C). Conclusions Following standardized treatment, the children with PKU have comparable physical and intellectual developments as compared to normal children. c.728G>A, c.611A>G and c.1197A>T were predominant mutations in the PAH gene among these 53 children with PKU, and three novel mutations were identified, including c.674C>G, c.1316-2A>C and c.1069T>C.

OBJECTIVE： To provide reference for reducing the rate of outpatient/emergency intravenous infusion in paediatric and improving the safety of drug use in children. METHODS： The comprehensive intervention of outpatient/emergency intravenous infusion in paediatric by pharmacists of our hospital though multiple measures was introduced， such as education training， system construction and management， multi-party monitoring and intervention. Related data were selected before （Jan-Jun. 2018） and after intervention （Jul.-Dec. 2018） to evaluate intervention effects， involving paediatric outpatient/emergency intravenous infusion rate， antibiotics intravenous infusion rate， the rate of intravenous infusion prescription， total cost of antibiotics， TCM injection， adjunctive drugs and key monitoring drugs in infusion prescriptions. RESULTS： Through the comprehensive intervention of pharmacists， related indexes of outpatient/emergency intravenous infusion in paediatric were decreased greatly in our hospital. The rate of intravenous infusion， the rate of antibiotics intravenous infusion， the rate of intravenous infusion prescription and the rate of antibiotics intravenous infusion prescription were decreased from 19.52％， 15.46％， 20.29％， 11.20％ to 10.37％， 8.55％， 10.25％， 6.64％（P＜0.001）， respectively. Total cost of antibiotics， TCM injection， adjunctive drug and key monitoring drug were decreased respectively in infusion prescriptions （P＜0.001）. CONCLUSIONS： The comprehensive intervention measures taken by pharmacists in our hospital can reduce the rate of outpatient/emergency intravenous infusion in paediatric and the medical cost， and promote the safety of drug use in children.

Objective To characterize the brain microstructure changes of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients with various levels of cognitive impairment as measured by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI).Methods A total of 55 ALS patients and 20 healthy controls (HC) were enrolled in the Department of Neurology of Peking Union Medical College Hospital From September 2013 to March 2017,and all participants underwent neuropsychological assessments and DTI scans.According to their cognitive performance,ALS patients were further subclassified into ALS with normal cognition (ALS-Cn,n =27),ALS with cognitive impairment (ALS-Ci,n =17) and ALS-frontotemporal dementia (ALS-FTD,n =11)subgroups.Comparisons of voxel-based and atlas-based fractional anisotropy (FA) and mean diffusivity (MD) data were conducted among the four subgroups.Results In the voxel-based analyses,the FA showed significant differences in cingulate gyms,corpus callosum,brain stem and cerebellum,and MD showed significant differences in bilateral frontal lobe,temporal lobe,cingulate gyms,corpus callosum,and cerebellum among the four subgroups.Besides,when compared to ALS-Ci,ALS-Cn and HC groups in the order,the areas of involvement were larger and differences were more significant in ALS-FTD group.In the atlas-based analyses,the FA and MD of the corticospinal tracts revealed no difference within the patients groups,but decreased FA and increased MD were found compared to HC group.The ALS-IFD patients manifested widespread white matter fiber integrity damage and microstructure impairment in the extramotor areas compared to other three groups.Conclusion The brain white matter structural patterns of ALS patients correlate with their cognitive function,and there is a gradient of alterations across the ALS-Cn,ALS-Ci and ALS-FTD continuum.

The "student-centered" concept highlights the dominant position of students in the teaching process and makes up for the deficiency of traditional teaching mode.Based on the above idea,the teaching team of the author's department tried to improve teaching effect through effective teaching design in biochemistry.Firstly,the teaching goal (the goal of knowledge,ability and emotion) and the important situational factors the learning situation analysis,the characteristics of the course and the class,etc)should be identified.suitable teaching strategies he inspiration strategy,exploration strategy and problem solution strategy,etc.),teaching method (discussion,case study,problem based learning,etc.) and proper assessment (such as the summative assessment with formative evaluation) should be determined to organize classroom teaching.At the end of the class the timely feedback and the teaching reflection should be carried outto extend classroom teaching to extra-curricular class.The results showed that effective teaching designismore likely to stimulate students' learning enthusiasm,promote students' deep learning and achieve better teaching effects.

Objective To explore the relationship between alcohol consumption and new-onset cholelithiasis.Methods The retrospective cohort study was conducted.The data of 77 755 participants who participated health examination at the Kailuan General Hospital,Kailuan Linxi Hospital,Kailuan Zhaogezhuang Hospital,Kailuan Tangjiazhuang Hospital,Kailuan Fan'gezhuang Hospital,Kailuan Lyujiatuo Hospital,Kailuan Jinggezhuang Hospital,Kailuan Linnancang Hospital,Kailuan Qianjiaying Hospital,Kailuan Majiagou Hospital and Kailuan Branch Hospital from June 2006 to December 2015 were collected.According to definition of alcohol consumption from literature,all the 77 755 participants were allocated into the 5 groups,including 50 695 with never drinking in the never group,3 154 with alcohol withdrawal time≥ 1 year in the past group,12 410 with light drinking in the light group,1 606 with moderate drinking in the moderate group and 9 890 with heavy drinking in the heavy group.All participants received the same-order health examinations by the fixed team of doctors in 2006,2008,2010,2012 and 2014 at the same place.Epidemiological investigation,anthropometric parameters and biochemical indicators were collected.Observation indicators:(1) comparisons of clinical characteristics among the 5 groups;(2) incidence of cholelithiasis;(3) risk factors analysis affecting new-onset cholelithiasis;(4) comparisons of the fitting degree of alcohol consumption on new-onset cholelithiasis model.Measurement data with normal distribution were represented as (x)±s,and comparisons among groups were analyzed using the one-way ANOVA.The pairwise comparison and homogeneity of variance were done using the least significance difference (LSD) test.Heterogeneity of variance was analyzed by the Dunnett's T3 test.Measurement data with skewed distribution were described as M (Q),and comparisons among groups were analyzed using the rank sum test.Comparisons of count data were analyzed using chi-square test.The cumulative incidence of new-onset cholelithiasis was calculated by the Kaplan-Meier method,and comparisons of incidences among groups were done by the Log-rank test.The hazard ratio (HR) and 95％ confidence interval (CI) of different intakes of alcohol on new-onset cholelithiasis were estimated by the COX proportional hazards regression models.The fitting degree of alcohol consumption on new-onset cholelithiasis model was calculated by the likelihood ratio test and akaike information criterion (AIC).Results (1) Comparisons of clinical characteristics among the 5 561.80,656.31,P＜0.05].(2) Incidence of cholelithiasis:all 77 755 participants were observed for (6.8±2.1)years,3 757 were diagnosed as new-onset cholelithiasis,with a cumulative incidence of new-onset cholelithiasis of 4.5％.The cumulative incidences of new-onset cholelithiasis in the never,past,light,moderate and heavy groups were respectively 5.1％,4.9％,3.7％,3.4％ and 3.3％,showing a statistically significant difference among groups (x2=83.14,P＜0.05).The cumulative incidence of new-onset cholelithiasis in the never group was significantly different from that in the past,light,moderate and heavy groups (x2 =18.34,40.58,45.41,48.44,P＜0.05).The cumulative incidence of new-onset cholelithiasis in the past group was significantly different from that in the light,moderate and heavy groups (x2 =18.72,20.47,25.41,P＜0.05).There were statistically significant differences in the cumulative incidence of new-onset cholelithiasis among the light,moderate and heavy groups (x2=8.47,12.41,P＜0.05) and no statistically significant difference between the moderate and heavy groups (x2=0.85,P＞0.05).(3) Risk factors analysis affecting new-onset cholelithiasis:results of COX proportional hazards regression models showed that risks of new-onset cholelithiasis in the light,moderate and heavy groups were reduced compared with never group after adjustment of gender,age,TC,TG,BMI,hypertension,diabetes,smoking and physical exercise (HR=0.88,0.82,0.73,95％CI:0.79-0.98,0.76-0.89,0.64-0.83,P＜0.05).(4) Comparisons of the fitting degree of alcohol consumption on newonset cholelithiasis model:multivariate model was constructed after adding risk factors of gender,age,BMI,TG,TC,hypertension,diabetes mellitus,smoking and physical exercise,and-2Log L and AIC were 76 331.83 and 76 353.83 for the multivariate model.Then drinking variable was added into multivariate model,and the-2Log L and AIC of the multivariate model+drinking model were 76 307.86 and 76 337.86,respectively,with statistically significant differences (x2=23.97,P＜0.05).Conclusion Alcohol consumption is an independent protective factor for new-onset cholelithiasis,and the risk of cholelithiasis is decreased with increasing alcohol intake.

Objective · To investigate the status of depression and anxiety in patients with recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) and the possible influence factors and to provide theoretical support for further psychological intervention. Methods · RSA patients and women with no history of RSA were invited to complete a questionnaire, including basic information, Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS). All data were analyzed by SPSS. Results · Of all 1064 cases included in this study, 725 were RSA cases, 217 cases with one spontaneous abortion and 122 in control group with no history of spontaneous abortion. Our results showed that both RSA patients and patients with one spontaneous abortion have significantly higher SDS and SAS scores than control group. Furthermore, non-pregnant RSA patients with lower education level, lower household income and 3-5 years of marriage have significantly higher levels of depression and anxiety. Patients with multiple miscarriages (≥4), history of induced abortion and no live birth, score significantly higher in SDS. Conclusion · Whether pregnant or not, RSA patients are much easier to become depressive and anxious, which may be associated with education level, household income, length of marriage, numbers of pregnancy losses and previous live birth. Women with one spontaneous abortion also show a significant higher tendency of depression and anxiety. These patients should be given proper psychological intervention if necessary.
