Objective To investigate the risk factors and intervention measures for surgical site infec-tion following posterolateral approach lumbar fusion surgery.Methods A total of 1 078 patients who under-went posterolateral approach lumbar fusion surgery in the department of spine surgery from January 1,2022 to December 31,2023 were included.Patient related information was collected through the real-time nosocomi-al infection monitoring system,while medical visit information was obtained via the outpatient electronic med-ical record system.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to identify risk factors for surgical site infection.Results Among the 1 078 patients,34 cases(3.15%)developed surgical site infections,while 1 044 cases did not.Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that age,smoking,hypertension,diabetes,concurrent hospital stay,operative time,duration of postoperative antimicrobial use after initial surgery,and total antimicrobial use duration were significant risk factors for surgical site infection(P＜0.05).Among the 34 infected patients,the duration of antimicrobial use varied significantly across different infection sites(P＜0.05),with the longest duration observed in patients with deep space infections.Conclusion Targeted surveil-lance of surgical site infections should be reinforced based on these risk factors.Perioperative infection control measures must be strictly implemented to improve the scientific,precise,and standardized management of sur-gical-related nosocomial infections.

Objective To evaluate the impact of the WeChat platform health management model combined with low-dose atorvastatin on lipid and glucose profiles,quality of life,and negative emotions in patients with metabolic syndrome and obesity.Methods The data of obese patients with metabolic syndrome who were treated at Shangyu People's Hospital of Shaoxing from June 2022 to June 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.The patients were divided into a control group and an experimental group according to their out-of-hospital health management methods.The control group received atorvastatin combined with conventional health management treatment,and the experimental group received atorvastatin combined with a health management model based on the WeChat platform.The blood glucose and lipid-related indicators were compared between the two groups before and 3 months and 6 months after intervention.Negative emotions and quality of life were compared before and 6 months after intervention,and self-management ability was compared 6 months after intervention.Results A total of 160 patients were included in the study,with 85 patients in the control group and 75 patients in the experimental group.After the intervention,the fasting blood glucose(FBG),2-hour postprandial blood glucose(2hPBG),glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c),low-density lipoprotein(LDL-C),triglyceride(TG)and total cholesterol(TC)of the two groups of patients at 3 months and 6 months)were significantly lower than before intervention,and the above indicators of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group(P＜0.05);while high-density lipoprotein(HDL-C)was significantly higher than that before intervention,and HDL-C in the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P＜0.05).Compared with pre-treatment,the anxiety self-rating scale(SAS)and depression self-rating scale(SDS)scores were siginficantly lower,and various quality of life scores for both groups significantly higher 6 months after intervention(P＜0.05),and the self-management ability of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion Low-dose atorvastatin combined with the WeChat platform health management model effectively improves lipid profiles,blood glucose,negative emotions,self-management behavior,and quality of life in patients with metabolic syndrome and obesity,which is worthy of clinical promotion.

Interleukin-6(IL-6)is a pleiotropic cytokine produced by monocytes, macrophages, T lymphocytes and other cell types. It is significantly up-regulated in the process of infection and inflammation, and is the core cytokine of the host's defense against environmental stresses(such as injury and infection). Abnormal and persistent IL-6 production is closely associated with the development of various autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. A growing number of studies have shown that IL-6 plays a critical role in ocular inflammation and angiogenesis in the conjunctiva, cornea, uvea and retina. Blockade of IL-6 ameliorates chronic and refractory intraocular inflammation. This article aims to review the role as well as the mechanism of IL-6 in ocular inflammatory diseases, attempting to have a deep and systematic understanding of the role of IL-6 in ocular inflammatory diseases.

Objective To investigate the expression of glutathione S-transferase π (Glutathione S-transferase π, GST-π) protein in peripheral blood and brain of patients with drug-resistant epilepsy and refractory epilepsy rats. Meth?ods From January 2010 to March 2014, the expression of GST-πin the blood and brain of 32 cases of drug-resistant epi?lepsy underwent neurosurgery and 10 cases of cerebral vascular malformation underwent surgery were studied and com?pared. The expression of GST-πin the blood and brain in refractory epilepsy rats and normal rats were studied and com?pared. Results The specimen from 20 temporal, 6 frontal and 6 occipital lobes were obtained from drug-resistant epilep?sy patients. The expression levels of GST-πin the blood and brain in refractory epilepsy rats and normal rats were higher than those of the control groups (P<0.05). Conclusion GST-πmay be involved in the process of drug-resistant epilepsy. The GST-πexpression in blood may be used as a marker for resistance to anti-epileptic agents.
