Objective:To provide new insights for the selection and research of Gastrodia elata. Methods:Through searches in databases such as China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),PubMed,and Web of Science,a systematic literature review approach was adopted. This involved summarizing and synthesizing existing articles on the chemical structures and pharmacological effects of polysaccharides in Gastrodia elata, and performing a comprehensive cross-sectional analysis of factors affecting the polysaccharide content in Gastrodia elata. Results:Traditional Chinese medicine,Gastrodia elata, has properties such as calming wind and convul-sions,regulating liver yang, and expelling wind and promoting circulation.Gastrodia elata is rich in polysaccharide components, which exhibit strong pharmacological activities.Factors such as the origin, variety, associated micro-bial species, harvest period, and processing methods all influence the polysaccharide content in Gastrodia elata. Conclusion:It can be inferred from the evaluation index of Gastrodia elata polysaccharides that Yunnan and Sichuan are the high-quality main production areas of Gastrodia elata;red and black varieties of Gastrodia elata are considered superior.Winter-harvested Gastrodia elata has better quality than those harvested in other seasons.Processing methods, particularly steaming followed by slicing, help retain higher levels of polysaccharides in Gastrodia elata.

Objective:To construct a triple pre-rehabilitation intervention program for patients undergoing radical prostatectomy, to provide a basis for promoting pre-rehabilitation in patients undergoing radical prostatectomy. Methods:Literature analysis was used to search domestic and foreign databases such as China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, PubMed, etc, on triple pre-rehabilitation and rapid rehabilitation of patients undergoing radical prostatectomy, with a search time frame from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2023. The Delphi expert letter consultation was conducted later, and the final draft of the triple pre-rehabilitation intervention program for patients with radical prostatectomy was finally formed. Results:A total of 20 experts completed 2 rounds of inquiries, all were female, with an age of (40.85 ± 5.40) years old. The response rates for the 2 rounds of expert inquiries were both 100%(20/20). The authority coefficients of the experts were 0.87 and 0.90, respectively. Kendall coordination coefficients were 0.11 and 0.21, respectively. The coefficient of variation for each item in the second round of inquiries ranged from 0 to 0.15. The triple pre-rehabilitation intervention program for patients with radical resection of prostate cancer was constructed, including 4 primary indexes, 8 secondary indexes and 25 tertiary indexes. Conclusions:It is scientific, targeted and feasible to construct a triple pre-rehabilitation intervention program for patients undergoing radical prostatectomy based on Delphi method, which can provide clinical basis for pre-rehabilitation of elderly patients undergoing prostate cancer surgery.

Immune-mediated myocarditis is a rare but life-threatening complication of immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy. We report a case of a patient with high-grade urothelial carcinoma and lymph node metastasis. After exhibiting cisplatin intolerance postoperatively, the patient received dual immunotherapy. On day 19 of treatment, following physical exertion, the patient developed progressive chest tightness and dyspnea, accompanied by markedly elevated cardiac biomarkers (troponin Ⅰ: 550.7 pg/mL; creatine kinase: 9 669 U/L). Multidisciplinary evaluation confirmed the diagnosis of grade 4 immune-mediated myocarditis. Immediate discontinuation of immunotherapy was followed by intensive care unit admission for hormonal shock therapy and additional symptomatic management. After two months of targeted management, both clinical symptoms and laboratory parameters normalized. The patient remained stable with no cardiac sequelae during three-month post-discharge follow-up.

Objectives:To validate the Chinese version of the Ureteral Stent Symptoms Questionnaire(Chinese-USSQ) in patients with an indwelling ureteral stent. Methods:The original USSQ was translated into Chinese and linguistically validated following the cross-cultural adaptation of health-related quality of life measures.A total of 83 patients (cases) with indwelling ureteral stent and 90 healthy subjects (controls) were asked to complete the Chinese-USSQ as well as European Quality of Life Visual Analogue scale(EQ-VAS)(for both genders), the International Prostate Symptom Scale (IPSS) (for male), and Urogenital Distress Inventory-6 (for female). Patients were evaluated at weeks 1 and 4 after stent placement and at week 4 after removal. The psychometric properties of the questionnaire were analyzed. Results:The Chinese version of USSQ include 43 items, which addressed various domains of health(6 sections) covering urinary symptoms, pain, general health, work performance and sexual matters with additional problems. A total of 78 patients(45 males and 33 females) and 90 controls (41 males and 49 females)were included for analysis. Internal consistencies (Cronbach′s α coefficients: 0.60-0.78) and test-retest reliability (Spearman correlation coefficient: 0.69-0.91) were satisfactory for urinary symptom, body pain, general health, and work performance domains. Most USSQ domains showed moderate correlations with each other. The convergent validity determined by correlation between other instruments and corresponding USSQ domain was satisfactory. At week 4 it was moderate for the urinary symptoms index compared to the IPSS in men(Spearman correlation coefficient>0.60), for the urinalry symptoms index compared to the UDI-6 score in women(Spearman correlation coefficient 0.52).Sensitivity to change and discriminant validity were also good in most domains ( P<0.01). Only a small proportion of the study population had an active sexual life with the stent in situ, which limited its analysis. Only 1(1.3%) and 6(7.7%) patients had an active sex life at week 1 and 4 after stent placement; meanwhile, 34(43.6%) patents were sexually active at week 4 after stent removal. Conclusion:The Chinese version of the USSQ is a reliable and valid instrument that can be used for Chinese patients with a indwelling ureteral stent in the clinical and research settings.

Chinese Journal of Medical Genetics 2021;38(11):1051-1054
OBJECTIVE:
To analyze the metabolic profile and genetic variants for newborns with primary carnitine deficiency (PCD) from Guangxi, China.
METHODS:
From January 2014 to December 2019, 400 575 newborns from the jurisdiction of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Newborn Screening Center were subjected to tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) analysis. Newborns with positive results for PCD and their mothers were recalled for retesting. Those who were still positive were subjected to sequencing of the SLC22A5 gene.
RESULTS:
Twenty-two newborns and 9 mothers were diagnosed with PCD, which gave a prevalence rate of 1/18 208. Sequencing of 18 newborns and 4 mothers have identified 14 types of SLC22A5 gene variants, with the common ones including c.51C>G (10/44, 22.7%), c.1195C>T (9/44, 20.5%) and c.1400C>G (7/44, 15.9%), The c.517delC(p.L173Cfs*3) and c.1031C>T(p.T344I) were unreported previously and predicted to be pathogenic (PVS1+PM2_supporting+PM3+PP4) and likely pathogenic (PM1+PM2_supporting+PM3+PP3+PP4) based on the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics standards and guidelines.
CONCLUSION
c.51C>G, c.1195C>T and c.1400C>G are the most common variants underlying PCD in Guangxi.

Chinese Journal of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases 2020;04(3):253-256
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is characterized by chronic intestinal inflammation, which includes Crohn′s disease and ulcerative colitis. The parenteral complications of IBD involve almost every system of the body. The most common complications involved in urinary system are kidney stones, tubulointerstitial nephritis, glomerulonephritis and amyloidosis. This article aims to summarize the latest research progress about the inflammatory bowel disease-associated urinary system complications
