OBJECTIVE To study the characteristics,micro-traits and microscopic characteristics of Peucedani radix and seven kinds of its common varieties and summarize the key identification characteristics so as to provide a reference for the effective identifica-tion of Peucedani radix and its common varieties.METHODS The key identification features and high-definition images of Peucedani radix and its common varieties were obtained by using the identification methods of traits,microtraits and microscopy,combined with the techniques of depth-of-field extended imaging and image stitching,and some of the features were digitally extracted and statistical-ly analyzed by SPSS26.0 software.RESULTS The high-definition color image data of Peucedani radix and its common varieties were obtained.Its specific identification features were:root head length and annular sparseness,skin pore shape and area,root texture,and fracture surface oil spot density,etc.under the property identification;the diameter and number of oil chambers,the number of cathe-ters,the presence or absence of bast fibers and wood fibers,etc.under the microscopic identification.The results of statistical analysis showed that there were significant differences in skin pore area,oil chamber diameter and density,and conduit density among different varieties of Peucedani radix(P<0.01).CONCLUSION Micro-traits and microidentification methods can be comprehensively ap-plied to distinguish Peucedani radix and its common varieties.In particular,the microscopic features of polarized light holographic col-or images in cross section have significant distinguishing significance,and some of the features are digitally extracted and statistically analyzed,which makes up for the shortcomings of subjective factors in the traditional empirical identification research,and provides a reference for the circulation,testing,clinical medication,and standard drafting of Peucedani radix.

OBJECTIVE To establish the fingerprint of Sophora flavescens， and to screen differential components and determine their contents.　METHODS HPLC fingerprints of 12 batches of S. flavescens were established by using Similarity Evaluation System of Chromatographic Fingerprints of TCM （2012 edition）； common peaks were identified and their similarities were evaluated. Chemical pattern recognition analysis [cluster analysis （CA），principal component analysis （PCA） and orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis（OPLS-DA）] were performed with SIMCA 14.1 and SPSS 23.0 software， and differential components which influenced the quality of S. flavescens were screen with variable importance in the projection（VIP）＞1 as standard. Meanwhile， the contents of 4 kinds of differential components were determined by the same HPLC method.　RESULTS There were 17 common peaks in the fingerprints of 12 batches of S. flavescens，and their similarities were all higher than 0.96. A total of 6 common peaks were identified， i.e. oxymatrine （peak 1）， oxysophocarpine （peak 2）， matrine （peak 10）， trifolirhizin （peak 14）， kurarinone （peak 16） and norkurarinone （peak 17）. Results of CA， PCA and OPLS-DA showed that 12 batches of S. flavescens were divided into 3 categories according to producing area， i.e. S1-S7 （Shangzhou District of Shaanxi Province） were grouped into one category， S8-S10 （Yichuan County of Henan Province） into one category and S11-S12 （Chifeng City of Inner Mongolia） into one category. VIPs of matrine， norkurarinone， kurarinone and oxysophocarpine and the chemical components represented by peak 11 and 9 were all greater than 1. The contents of matrine， norkurarinone， kurarinone and oxysophocarpine in 12 batches of S. flavescens were 2.65-4.93， 1.54-3.44， 9.63-12.94 and 5.08-6.10 mg/g， respectively. CONCLUSIONS HPLC fingerprint of S. flavescens is established successfully in the study， and can be used to screen 6 differential components by combining with chemical pattern recognition analysis， which can provide reference for quality control of S. flavescens.

OBJECTIVETo lay a foundation for the study on good variety selection of Isatis indigotica, comparison of plant traits and quality evaluation of Isatis germplasm resources from different production area was conducted.

METHODField cultivation and randomized block experiment were adopted to compare those plant traits of leaf, root, silique and seed of Isatis from different production area and the content of R,S-goitrin and polysaccharide in the root was determined.

RESULTDifferent cultivation forms of Isatis had significant difference from each other in leaf, root, silique and seed, content of R,S-goitrin and polysaccharide in the root were also different. R,S-goitrin content in Isatis of Chinese cabbage leaf type ( production area: Yunnan ) was comparative higher, 0.59% , while polysaccharide content in autotetraploid Isatis was comparative higher, 8.68%.

CONCLUSIONAccording to the plant traits, Isatis were classified into three types: Chinese cabbage leaf type, cabbage leaf type and mustard leaf type, of which R,S-goitrin content in Chinese cabbage leaf type (production area: Yunnan) was comparative higher, while polysaccharide content in autotetraploid Isatis was comparative higher.

Objective To make clear the resources of pteridophyte in Zhejiang-Dongqian lake area.Methods Field investigation, data reference and consultation to local peasants were adopted. Results There are 20 famines, 23 genera, and 26 species of medicinal ferns in Dongqian Lake area. Conclusion Medicinal ferns are abundant in Zhejiang-Dongqian lake area.
