Objective:To investigate the efficacy and safety of transcatheter arterial embolization(TAE)in the treatment of refractory bleeding caused by head, neck, and maxillofacial trauma. Methods:The clinical data of 26 patients with refractory bleeding caused by head, neck and maxillofacial trauma who were treated with TAE in The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University and The Third People's Hospital of Henan Province were analyzed retrospectively, including 16 males and 10 females, with an average age of 57.96±15.52 years. All patients were treated with TAE because of the poor effect of medication, packing, and other measures and repeated bleeding. The clinical data, operation success rate, effective hemostasis rate,30-day clinical success rate, and postoperative complica-tions were analyzed. The patients were followed up for 3 to 6 months. Results:The operation success rate of TAE was 100%.The bleed-ing symptoms of all patients were effectively controlled, and the effective hemostasis rate was 100%.The hemoglobin level was in-creased from(96.21±12.42)g/L before operation to(111.38±7.70)g/L at 3 days after operation(P<0.001).After operation,3 pa-tients had slight swelling, pain,or skin color changes in the head, neck, and maxillofacial region, which were effectively relieved or dis-appeared after symptomatic treatment;2 patients died of severe traumatic brain injury and cerebral edema. No serious complications such as cerebral infarction occurred in any patients. There was no rebleeding in any patients within 3 to 6 months of post-discharge follow-up.Conclusion:TAE has definite curative effect and good safety for refractory bleeding caused by head, neck, and maxillofa-cial trauma, and has high clinical application value.

OBJECTIVE To statistically analyze the data of herpes zoster vaccination in the past four years and sum-marize the current status of herpes zoster vaccination.METHODS The data of herpes zoster vaccination were col-lected from the Fifth Medical Center of PLA General Hospital between 2020 and 2023.The descriptive statistical analysis was performed for the status vaccination regarding to the age group and gender. The influencing factors for the vaccination were analyzed, and the questionnaire survey was conducted for adverse reactions after the vacci-nation.RESULTS A total of 495 people received herpes zoster vaccination in the hospital from 2020 to 2023,inclu-ding 290 female and 205 male, and the overall number of vaccination showed an upward trend.Among the popula-tions who received the vaccination, the proportion of the population aged between 50 and 60 years old was 47.68%,the population aged between 60 and 70 years old 39.19%,the population aged more than 70 years old 13.13%.Totally 353 cases had the previous history of herpes zoster virus infection, accounting for 71.31%.The major adverse reactions for the herpes zoster vaccination included slight swelling, pruritus, fatigue and headache with low-grade fever. The follow-up result showed that 4 of 376 vaccination people reported to be reinfected with herpes zoster virus.CONCLUSIONS The people aged between 50 and 60 years old are the major population for her-pes zoster vaccination, the vaccination rate declines year by year among the population aged more than 60 years old,and the rate of willing to vaccination is low.It is necessary for the epidemic prevention institutions to actively disseminate the knowledge of herpes zoster vaccine and carry out health education, especially the vulnerability to the virus and safety of the vaccine,so as to raise the public's willingness to the vaccination.

Pannexin-1 (Panx1) forms nonselective large channel in cell plasma membrane and has been shown to be associated with NLRP3 inflammasome activation, ATP release and phagocytes recruitment. In the current study, by manipulation of Panx1 expression in human myeloid cells and application of Panx1 deficient mice, we failed to find a correlation between Panx1 and NLRP3 inflammasome activation, although an interaction between these two proteins was evident. However, in thioglycollate induced peritonitis, Panx1 deficient mice showed much more phagocytes infiltration. Further analyses showed that mice deficient for Panx1 exhibited enlarged F4/80(low)Gr1(-)Ly6C(-)cell population in the peritonea. Our study thus reveals an important role for Panx1 in regulation of peritoneal cell population and peritonitis development.

Objective:To investigate the principle and measures of prevention and treatment on pancreatic fistula due to pancreatic injury.Method:The clinical data of 131 pancreatic injury patients were analyzed retrospectively.Operation and combined therapy during perioperative were performed. Results:Among 35 cases(26.7%,35/131) with pancreatic fistula,3 cases shaped internal fistula showed by visualization and cured spontaneously after operations,9 cases with pancreatic pseudocyst after operations were treated by Roux-en-Y pancreatic cystojejunostomy,2 cases(5.7%,2/35) died of MODS and abdominal infections. The rest were recovered. The follow-up from 3 months to 5 years showed that there were no cases died of complications related to pancreatic fistula. Conclusions:Operation combined with multiple therapies was effective in the prevention and treatment of pancreatic fistula.
