OBJECTIVE To preliminarily assess the horizontal sound localization and its influencing factors in patients with unilateral sudden sensorineural hearing loss during the acute phase.METHODS The azimuth discrimination test and azimuth identification test were completed, with the speech sound(65 dB SPL)as the stimulus. The minimum audible angle(MAA)and root-mean-square error(RMSE)were obtained, and the RMSE of the affected side and the healthy side were calculated respectively.According to the WHO(2021)hearing loss classification criteria, the data were analyzed based on the pure-tone average(PTA)of the affected ear.And the best resident hearing at each frequency of the affected ear was recorded.RESULTS The performance of the unilateral sudden sensorineural hearing loss patients in the sound localization varied greatly. Some performed close to the normal level, while others completely lost the ability to localize sound. The RMSE of the moderate hearing loss group(≥35 dB HL)was significantly higher than that of the normal hearing group(P<0.01),the MAA of the moderate to severe hearing loss group(≥50 dB HL)showed statistically significant differencescompared with normal hearing group(P<0.001).The RMSE of the affected side of patients in the severe and above hearing loss group was significantly larger than that of the healthy side.Regression analysis showed that the best resident hearing at each frequency of the affected ear was the most significant factor affecting MAA(R2=0.572,P<0.001)and RMSE(R2=0.768,P<0.001).CONCLUSION The horizontal sound localization of unilateral sudden sensorineural hearing loss patients in the acute phase varies greatly. When the PTA of the affected side reaches moderate hearing loss, the localization ability is significantly lower than that of normal-hearing individuals. The best resident hearing at each frequency of the affected ear is the key factor affecting the localization ability.

By now,the clinical methods of cancer treatment are mainly surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and traditional Chinese medicine methods. However, some tumors are concealed due to onset, initial diagnosis and treatment, which have entered the middle and late stage, lost the operation opportunity and impossible to pass accurate surgical staging by assessment of prognosis. Radi-cal concurrent chemoradiotherapy can be used for tumors that are inoperable and sensitive to radiation therapy. Therefore,it has be-come a hot spot to explore accurate and economic indicators to evaluate the prognosis of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio(NLR)refers to the ratio of neutrophils to lymphocytes in peripheral blood before treatment. As a general indicator of systemic inflammatory response, many studies have confirmed that the relationship between the efficacy of radiotherapy and chemother-apy for tumors provides a new way to evaluate the prognosis of tumors. This article briefly reviews the relationship between NLR and the prognosis of tumor-controlled radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Objective:we aim to determine the relationship between Cell sarcoma (c-Src) expression in patients with EOC and the disease phenotype.Methods:c-Src expression was evaluated using Western blotting analysis in 21 ovarian carcinomas and 4 normal ovarian tissues.Immunohistochemistry was used to evaluate c-Src expression in 134 ovarian carcinomas and 26 normal ovarian tissues. The association between c-Src expression and clinically pathologic characteristics were also assessed in these patients. Results:Our results indicated elevated c-Src protein in EOCs compared with that in normal tissues. The overexpression of c-Src was significantly associated with aggressive features, such as advanced disease stage, poor histological grade, lymph node metastasis, and tumor recurrence (P<0.05).In addition, the overexpression ofc-Src is significantly associated with EOCs' prognosis.Conclusion:c-Src overexpression was significantly associated with the malignant biological behavior of tumor, suggesting c-Src as a potential preventive target in these patients.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the clinical effects of bone setting manipulation on simplified operation and swelling reduction in treating calcaneal fractures.
METHODSFrom December 2005 to November 2010, 42 patients with calcaneal were reviewed, including 25 males and 17 females, ranging in age from 18 to 74 years, with an average of 41.4 years. Twenty patients had fractures in the left and 22 in the right. Twenty-three patients were treated with anatomical plate fixation, 19 patients were treated with Kirchners wires or cannulated screws fixation. The average period of swelling in soft tissue, joint function and complications were evaluated.
RESULTSForty-two patients were followed up, and the duration ranged from 3 to 18 months, with a mean of 8.3 months. The pain was markedly relieved at the next day after reduction, and the swelling was relieved in 3 to 5 days. The operative was simplified and the average operative time was 90 minutes. The swelling was relieved in 4 to 7 days after the operation, and the necrosis of skin was not found. The average postoperatively Böhler angle was (31 +/- 3.2) degrees. Gissane angle was (112 +/- 5.3) degrees. Calcaneal width was (30.2 +/- 0.89) mm. According to Maryland foot function score system, 16 patients got an excellent result, 18 good, 6 fair and 2 bad.
CONCLUSIONThe operation is simplified, and skin complications decrease, as well as the detumescence period is shortened.
