γδ T cells possess both innate and adaptive immune characteristics. Their antigen recognition is independent of major histocompatibility complex presentation, and they can directly recognize abnormal tumor metabolism, showing unique application potential in tumors with low immune infiltration. This paper systematically sorts out the biological characteristics and antitumor immune functions of γδ T cells, and mainly reviews the relevant mechanisms by which active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine regulate γδ T cells to exert antitumor immune functions. Glycyrrhiza polysaccharide and Astragalus polysaccharide can enhance the antitumor immune function of γδ T cells by promoting the expression of various cytokines, regulating intestinal flora and alleviating immunosuppressive state. Quercetin and puerarin can strengthen γδ T cell-mediated tumor cell killing by regulating the proliferation of γδ T cells, the expression of cytotoxic effector molecules and related signaling pathways. Toosendanin can potentiate γδ T cell-induced tumor cell killing by down-regulating the expression of anti-apoptotic protein in tumor cells. Artesunate can boost γδ T cell-mediated antitumor immune responses by enhancing the effector function of γδ T cells and weakening tumor immune escape. Future research shall focus on exploring the synergistic effects and molecular mechanisms of the combined application of active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine and γδ T cell immunotherapy, and identifying the key targets for γδ T cells to exert antitumor immune functions.

Objective:To investigate the predicting value of high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and albumin (Alb) ratio on prognosis of patients with in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA).Methods:A total of 107 patients with IHCA and spontaneous circulation recovery (ROSC) after cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University during January 1, 2017 and September 30, 2020 were selected as the subjects and divided into the survival group and death group according to the survival condition on day 14 after IHCA. The correlation between ratio of high sensitivity C-reactive protein/albumin (hs-CRP/Alb) and the prognosis of patients was analyzed. Results:No statistical significant differences were found between the survival and death groups in sex, age, medical history, ECG monitoring, recovery ventilation mode, percentage of first monitoring of heart rate and pre-resuscitation Alb (all P > 0.05). However, there were significant differences in the percentage of non-cardiogenic CA and adrenaline dose > 5 mg, time of CPR, concentrations of blood lactic acid, Alb, hs-CRP, and ratio of hs-CRP/Alb (all P < 0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that percentage of adrenaline dose > 5 mg, concentration of blood lactic acid, time of CPR, and ratio of hs-CRP/Alb were independent risk factors for predicting death. ROC curve analysis showed that hs-CRP/Alb ratio, and concentration of hs-CRP and Alb had predictive value on the death of patients with IHCA; the areas under the curves of hs-CRP/Alb ratio, hs-CRP and Alb concentration were 0.876, 0.864 and 0.745, respectively. The predictive efficiency of hs-CRP/Alb ratio was better than that of hs-CRP concentration or Alb concentration. Conclusions:hs-CRP/Alb ratio has predictive value for the prognosis of patients with IHCA and the predictive value is superior to that of hs-CRP and Alb concentration.

BACKGROUNDAutoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) is a chronic inflammatory disease of pancreas. We evaluated the clinical manifestations, imaging, and histological presentations of AIP in Chinese patients, and investigated the roles of immunoglobulin E (IgE) and allergic diseases in the diagnosis and pathogenesis of AIP.
METHODSThe clinical records of 22 patients diagnosed with AIP were reviewed and analyzed. All patients with AIP fulfilled the 2006 revised diagnostic criteria proposed by Japan Pancreas Society or the Korean Criteria for AIP.
RESULTSHalf (11/22) of AIP patients had allergic diseases. Twenty-one patients had elevated serum IgE levels, and 14 patients had IgE levels more than 3 times that of normal. There were no significant differences between the patients with higher or lower IgE, with or without allergic disease, in clinical features, laboratory tests, diffuse or focal lesions, or the choice of treatment methods; however, more complaints of body weight loss were observed in patients with higher IgE levels. Patients with higher IgE levels and with allergic diseases were more likely to have onset in March, April, May, August, September, or October. IgE levels decreased after therapy, but increased again during recurrence. Increased number of mast cells was found in the pancreatic tissue in AIP.
CONCLUSIONSIgE maybe a useful marker for monitoring therapeutic response and recurrence of AIP. Allergic processes may play an important role in the pathogenesis of AIP.
