Objective To evaluate the sensitivity of swept-source optical coherence tomography(SS-OCT)in detecting early deminer-alization at the resin-enamel bonding interface, and the differences in enamel demineralization around restorations among different resins(Filtek Z350 XT,Filtek Bulk Fill,TetricN-Ceram Bulk Fill). Methods Twenty-seven extracted third molars were selected and prepared into 5-mm-thick specimens, and Class Ⅰ cavities measuring 3 mm × 3 mm × 4 mm were created on the occlusal surfaces. The specimens were randomly divided into three groups, with nine teeth in each group, and were respectively filled with Filtek Z350 XT(layered filling of 4 mm),Filtek Bulk Fill(bulk filling of 4 mm in one step),and Tetric N-Ceram Bulk Fill(bulk filling of 4 mm in one step). After applying acid-resistant nail varnish to non-experimental areas, the specimens were placed in a demineralizing solution for 4 weeks.SS-OCT and Micro-CT scans of the resin-enamel bonding interface were performed before demineralization and weekly thereafter to monitor the progression of demineralization and changes in demineralization depth were quantitatively analyzed. Results Both SS-OCT and Micro-CT were capable of non-destructive dynamic monitoring of demineralization at the resin-enamel bonding inter-face.After demineralization, four types of patterns were observed at the resin-enamel bonding interface. At different stages of demineral-ization,no significant differences in demineralization depth were detected among the three resins using either SS-OCT or Micro-CT.There was a high level of agreement between the demineralization depth measurements obtained from SS-OCT and Micro-CT at each demineralization stage(ICC:0.760-0.897).Conclusion The early demineralization of resin-enamelbonding interface can be noninva-sively detected by SS-OCT,and there was no significant differenceamong three resins in their ability to resist enamel demineralization around the restoration.

Objective To screen the active antidiarrheal components of salt-processed Alpiniae oxyphyllae Fructus-Foeniculi Fructus medicines(YZYH)and investigate its pharmacological basis and quality markers by examining its"spectrum-effect"relationship.Methods A spleen and kidney yang deficiency model of diarrhea was established in rats. The pharmacodynamic indexes of YZYH in petroleum ether, ethyl acetate, and water fractions were measured, including behavioral indicators such as body weight, anal temperature, diarrhea incubation period(DIP),diarrhea index(DI),and biochemical indicators such as nitric oxide synthase(NOS),cGMP,and creatinine phosphokinase(CPK).We analyzed the components of YZYH by high performance liquid chromatography, and analyzed the"spectrum-effect"relationship between the chemical components and the antidiarrheal efficacy indicators using the grey correlation method. Results Compared with the blank control group, rats in the model group developed watery stools after 15 days, which was the key pathological index of the main syndrome of diarrhea.Rats in the model group also developed abdominal distension, loss of appetite, and back arching,as secondary symptoms of spleen and kidney yang deficiency diarrhea.Administration of the therapeutic drugs improved both the main and secondary symptoms of diarrhea. The positive drug and YZYH-M significantly prolonged DIP(P<0.01)and decreased DI(P<0.01)after 28 days. These key indexes of diarrhea,as well as body mass,24 h food intake, water intake, anal temperature, and the serum biochemical indexes NOS,cGMP,CPK were all improved in the positive drug and YZYH-M groups.Examination of the spectral effect relationship showed that anisaldehyde, chromatographic peak 4,and other components were correlated with the pharmacodynamic indexes of DIP,DI,NOS,cGMP,and CPK.Conclusions The ethyl acetate fraction was the active antidiarrheal fraction of salt-processed Alpiniae oxyphyllae Fructus-Foeniculi Fructus medicines. It acts by inhibiting gastrointestinal hyperfunction, regulating energy metabolism and immunity.Ingredients such as anisaldehyde and peak 4 served as quality indicators for its antidiarrheal effect.

Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) are gradually revolutionizing clinical cancer therapy. The antibody-drug conjugate linker molecule determines both the efficacy and the adverse effects, and so has a major influence on the fate of ADCs. An ideal linker should be stable in the circulatory system and release the cytotoxic payload specifically in the tumor. However, existing linkers often release payloads nonspecifically and inevitably lead to off-target toxicity. This defect is becoming an increasingly important factor that restricts the development of ADCs. The pursuit of ADCs with optimal therapeutic windows has resulted in remarkable progress in the discovery and development of novel linkers. The present review summarizes the advance of the chemical trigger, linker‒antibody attachment and linker‒payload attachment over the last 5 years, and describes the ADMET properties of ADCs. This work also helps clarify future developmental directions for the linkers.

BACKGROUNDBased on the excellent medical care and management system for Chinese veterans, as well as the detailed medical documentation available, we aim to construct a Chinese Veteran Clinical Research (CVCR) platform on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and carry out studies of the primary disabling NCDs.
METHODSThe Geriatric Neurology Department of Chinese People's Liberation Army General Hospital and veterans' hospitals serve as the leading and participating units in the platform construction. The fundamental constituents of the platform are veteran communities. Stratified typical cluster sampling is adopted to recruit veteran communities. A cross-sectional study of mental, neurological, and substance use (MNS) disorders are performed in two stages using screening scale such as the Mini-Mental State Examination and Montreal cognitive assessment, followed by systematic neuropsychological assessments to make clinical diagnoses, evaluated disease awareness and care situation.
RESULTSA total of 9 676 among 277 veteran communities from 18 cities are recruited into this platform, yielding a response rate of 83.86%. 8 812 subjects complete the MNS subproject screening and total response rate is 91.70%. The average participant age is (82.01±4.61) years, 69.47% of veterans are 80 years or older. Most participants are male (94.01%), 83.36% of subjects have at least a junior high school degree. The overall health status of veterans is good and stable. The most common NCD are cardiovascular disorders (86.44%), urinary and genital diseases (73.14%), eye and ear problems (66.25%), endocrine (56.56%) and neuro-psychiatric disturbances (50.78%).
CONCLUSIONWe first construct a veterans' comprehensive clinical research platform for the study of NCDs that is primarily composed of highly educated Chinese males of advanced age and utilize this platform to complete a cross-sectional national investigation of MNS disorders among veterans. The good and stable health condition of the veterans could facilitate the long-term follow-up studies of NCDs and provide prospective data to the prevention and management of NCDs.
