Objective To examine the association between epidemiological characteristics of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) and meteorological factors in Shenzhen City during the period from 2012 to 2019. Methods Average atmospheric pressure, average air temperature, average relative humidity, precipitation, wind speed, and sunshine duration were captured from Meteorological Bureau of Shenzhen City each month from 2012 to 2019. The average monthly rodent densities in Shenzhen City from 2012 to 2019 were acquired from the Vector Surveillance Management System of Guangdong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the monthly HFRS incidence was retrieved from Shenzhen Municipal Disease Surveillance System from 2012 to 2019. The correlation between meteorological factors and the monthly incidence of HFRS was examined us ing Spearman’s rank correlation in Shenzhen City, and the temporal trends in monthly HFRS incidence and the degrees of freedom for the rodent density were determined in Shenzhen City with a generalized additive model. The optimal lag time was identified using excess risk (ER) and its 95% confidence interval (CI), and univariate and multivariate models were fitted to evaluate the impact of meteorological factors on HFRS incidence in Shenzhen City. Results The median number of incident HFRS cases was 3.00 (interquartile range, 3.25) in Shenzhen City from 2012 to 2019, with an average air temperature of (23.44 ± 4.91) °C, average relative humidity of (76.05 ± 7.61)%, median precipitation of 4.10 (interquartile range, 6.83) mm, average wind speed of (1.97 ± 0.26) m/s, average sunshine duration of (5.17 ± 1.64) h, and median monthly rodent density of 1.74% (interquartile range, 2.52%). Spearman’s rank correlation analysis showed that the average air temperature positively correlated with average relative humidity (r_s = 0.420, P < 0.05), precipitation (r_s = 0.658, P < 0.05) and sunshine duration (r_s = 0.633, P < 0.05), and the atmospheric pressure negatively correlated with average air temperature (r_s = −0.925, P < 0.05), relative humidity (r_s = −0.614, P < 0.05), precipitation (r_s = −0.789, P < 0.05) and sunshine duration (r_s = −0.437, P < 0.05), while the average relative humidity correlated positively with precipitation (r_s = 0.724, P < 0.05) and negatively with sunshine duration (r_s = −0.218, P < 0.05). Univariate modeling analysis showed that the ERs and their 95% CI were 0.639% (0.540%, 0.737%) for average atmospheric pressure, −7.157% (−8.113%, −6.190%) for average air temperature, −3.603% (−4.219%, −2.985%) for average relative humidity, −5.889% (−7.085%, −4.669%) forprecipitation,21.881% (−5.149%, 56.612%) for average wind speed, and −13.877% (−16.641%, −11.022%) for sunshine duation (all P values < 0.05). Multivariate modeling analysis showed that in the ensemble model combining average atmospheric pressure and precipitation, the highest ER (6.686%) was caused by increased average atmospheric pressure, and the highest absolute ER values for average air temperature (6.615%), average relative humidity (3.107%) and precipitation (5.386%) were seen after adjustment only for sunshine duration (all P values < 0.05), while the highest absolute ER for sunshine duration (11.875%) was found after adjustment for precipitation (P < 0.05). Conclusions An increase in average air temperature, relative humidity, precipitation and sunshine duration resulted in a reduced incidence rate of HFRS in Shenzhen City from 2012 to 2019, and an increase in average atmospheric pressure increased the incidence of HFRS. Meteorological factors are important determinants affecting HFRS incidence in Shenzhen City.

Purpose: The 21-gene recurrence score (RS) can guide adjuvant chemotherapy decisions in the multidisciplinary treatment (MDT) of patients with early breast cancer. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of the 21-gene RS assay on patient’ compliance with MDT and its association with disease outcomes. Methods: Patients diagnosed with pN0-1, hormone receptor-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor-2-negative breast cancer between January 2013 and June 2019 were enrolled. A logistic regression model was used to identify parameters associated with treatment adherence. Prognostic indicators were evaluated using the Cox proportional hazard models. Results: After the assay, patients were less likely to violate the treatment plan (14.9% vs. 23.1%, p < 0.001), and higher compliance rates were observed for chemotherapy (p = 0.042), radiotherapy (p = 0.012), and endocrine therapy (p < 0.001). Multivariable analysis demonstrated that the 21-gene RS assay (odds ratio [OR], 1.43; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.09–1.88; p = 0.009) was independently associated with MDT compliance. Moreover, compliance with MDT was independently associated with better disease-free survival (hazard ratio, 0.43; 95% CI, 0.29–0.64; p < 0.001), regardless of the 21-gene RS assay (interaction p = 0.842). Conclusion The 21-gene RS assay improved the MDT compliance rate in patients with early breast cancer. Adherence to MDT is associated with a better prognosis.

Objective To investigate the expression of Cav 1.3 calcium channel in adult rat cochlea and study its role in auditory physiology and pathology.Methods The sprague-dawley rats were used as experimental subjects.The distribution of Cav1.3 calcium channel in the cochlea was detected by immunofluorescence technique.The expression of Cav1.3 was measured with Western blot (WB) and RT-PCR.Results Immunofluorescence photographs revealed that Cav 1.3 calcium channel localized in the lateral wall membrane,hair cells,stria vascularis,spiral ganglion cell,spiral ligment,spiral prominence,and limbus laminae spiralis.The results of WB and RT-PCR inform Cav1.3 calcium channel gene (CACNA1D) were measured in the cochlea and kidney.The expression of Cav1.3was mainly in the basilar membrane.Moderate expression was observed in the spiral ganglion and stria vascularis.Conclusion The preliminary study revealed the distribution of Cav 1.3 calcium channel gene(CACNA1D)in adult rat cochle possesses tissue specificity,providing a theoretical basis for further research in auditory physiology and pathology.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the substance basis and the mechanism of pseudoanaphylactoid reactions (PR) induced by Shuanghuanglian injection (SHLI).

METHOD(1)The study of PR and the substance basis of PR of SHLI: ICR mice were divided into different test groups, the mice were intravenously injected with solutions of different concentration of SHLI, baicalin, forsythin, caffeotannic acid, positive control Compound 48/80 and normal sodium. All test substances were mixed with 0.4% Evans blue. The reaction and vascular permeability of the ears were observed and measured 30 min after SHLI injection. (2) The study of mechanisms: Mice were pretreated with an oral administration of Astemizol, intraperitoneal injection of cyclophosphamide 75 mg x kg(-1) or Compound 48/80 4 mg x kg(-1), then mice were intravenously injected with SHLI. At last, vascular permeability of the ears in pretreated groups was compared with SHLI treatment alone group.

RESULTSHLI of 300 mg x kg(-1) and 600 mg x kg(-1) caused obvious vascular hyperpermeability, but baicalin, forsythin and caffeotannic didn't cause vascular hyperpermeability in the ears. The Astemizol can decrease the degree of SHLI-induced vascular hyperpermeability of the ears in the mice. After intraperitoneal injected with cyclophosphamide, there was a slight decrease in the degree of SHLI-induced vascular hyperpermeability, but there was no marked changes in the degree of the SHLI-induced vascular hyperpermeability after the mice were pretreated with Compound 48/80.

CONCLUSIONSHLI in clinic equivalent dose can cause vascular hyperpermeability. Baicalin, forsythin and caffeotannic may not result in the PR of SHLI. The mechanism of the PR maybe relate to that SHLI stimulates histamine release, the activation of leucocyte maybe take part in the SHLI-induced PR, too. Antihistamine drug can prevent the genesis of PR which induced by SHLI.

Objective To estimate the impact of the image quality of conebeam CT on the accelerator for the Bowtie filter. Methods This study used the system of conebeam CT on the accelerator,and scaned the phantom of Catphan 500 in the multiplicate scanning conditions with and without the Bowtie filter. The scanning conditions were : voltage :120 kV, 100 kV, 80 kV, electricity:25 mA, 40 mA, 64 mA,time of exposure :40 MHz, collimator: M20, L20, scanning angle :358°. We transmitted the scanning data in the treatment planning systems of Philips Pinnacle 8. 0, and estimated the influence of the image quality.Results With and without the Bowtie filter, all of the images had high geometric precision, and the maximum difference of the nominal and actual distance at the horizontal, vertical and arrowy directions in the transection were 0. 50% and 0. 56% ( t = 0. 44, P ＞ 0. 05 ), 0. 44% and 0. 48% ( t = 1.01, P ＞ 0. 05 ),0. 50% and 0. 56% (t = 1.06,P ＞0. 05 ), respectively. The spatial resolution was 0. 167 cm, immutably.The ununiformity with the Bowtie filter was decreased of 28.0% -76.0% (t=2.53,P＜0. 05)、2.8%-50.0% (t= 3.02,P＜0.01 ) than those without the Bowtie filter, and the contrast-to-noise ratio was increased of 4.0% -41.6% (t=2.70,P＜0.05)、4.0% -50.0% (t=2.14,P＜0.05), using the collimators of M20 and L20, respectively. The Bowtie filter could display clearly the edge of scanning phantom, and improve the CT number of the image edge of phantom. And the linearity of CT number was also improved. Couclusions With the Bowtie filter, the image uniformity, the precision and linearity of CT number and the contrast-to-noise ratio were improved obviously, the edge artifacts were decreased, and the geometric precision and the spacial resolution did not change.

AIM: To evaluate effects of inhaled nitric oxide(iNO) on adhesion molecule CD11b expression on lung neutrophils in experimental meconium aspiration syndrome(MAS) rabbits treated with conventional mechanical ventilation under room air or 100%O 2. METHODS: Animals were randomly allocated to 8 groups( n= 48) of 6 each: two MAS model groups(under room air or 100%O 2 without iNO treatment), 6 treatment groups were treated with continuous NO inhalation at a dose of 0.2?10 -6 mol/L,0.33?10 -6 mol/L or 0.67?10 -6 mol/L respectively for 12 hours under room air or 100%O 2. Mean systemic arterial pressure(SAP) and methemoglobin (MeHb) were performed at basement time, 0, 2, 4, 12 hours. Expression of CD11b on neutrophils in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF) was detected with flow cytometry. RESULTS: SAP, MeHb at different time among different groups were within the normal scale. CD11b expression on the neutrophils in the BALF significantly decreased in groups of inhalation 0.33?10 -6 mol/L or 0.67?10 -6 mol/L NO, compared with the two MAS model groups. ( ?s : under 21%O 2, 0.33?10 -6 mol/L NO,121?20 vs 392?204; 0.67?10 -6 mol/L NO,112?30 vs 392?204;under 100%O 2,0.33?10 -6 mol/L NO,113?24 vs 293?65; 0.67?10 -6 mol/L 102?114 vs 293?65, P 0 05). No statistic difference was observed between groups inhaled 0.33?10 -6 mol/L NO and 0.67?10 -6 mol/L NO. CONCLUSION: 0.33?10 -6 mol/L or 0.67?10 -6 mol/L NO inhalation down-regulated the CD11b expression on the neutrophils in BALF to reduce the sequestration of neutrophils in rabbit lung.
