Stroke is the leading cause of death and disability among adults in China， and its common complications include digestive system abnormalities， cognitive impairment， depression， stroke-associated pneumonia， and hemiplegia. The combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine has great potential in treating post-stroke complications. Xinglou Chengqitang （XLCQT） is a representative prescription of alleviating the disease in the upper part by treating the lower part. It has definite therapeutic effect and high safety. Clinically， XLCQT is often used to treat stroke and its complications. However， the quantity and quality of clinical trials of XLCQT in treating post-stroke complications need to be improved. Additionally， since the basic research is weak， the material basis and multi-target mechanism for the efficacy of this prescription are unknown. This article reviews XLCQT in terms of the pharmacodynamic basis， medicinal properties， safety evaluation， and progress in clinical research and mechanisms in treating post-stroke complications. This article summarizes 22 key active ingredients of XLCQT in treating acute stroke complicated with syndrome of phlegm heat and fu-organ excess. Among these key active ingredients， resveratrol， kaempferol， luteolin， chrysoeriol， apigenin， （+）-catechin， and adenosine have good pharmacokinetic properties and high bioavailability. The mechanisms of XLCQT in treating post-stroke complications are complex， including inflammatory response， brain-gut axis， hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal （HPA） axis， intestinal flora， neurotrophic factors， autophagy， oxidative stress， and free radical damage. This review helps to deeply understand the pharmacodynamic basis and mechanisms of XLCQT in treating post-stroke complications and provides a theoretical basis for the clinical application of XLCQT against post-stroke complications and the development of drugs.

To analyze the disease burden of acute lymphoid leukemia(ALL) and its changing trends in China and globally from 1990 to 2021, aiming to provide a theoretical basis for disease prevention, treatment, and policy formulation.

The paper explores the etiology and pathogenesis of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), and its diagnosis and treatment with acupuncture and moxibustion based on "body-qi-mind trinity life view". It is believed that CFS refers to the comorbidity of body, qi and mind. In the disease, spleen deficiency in transportation and transformation is the root, resulting in malnutrition of muscles; liver qi stagnation is the pivot, causing dysfunction of three jiao; and disharmony between heart and kidney is crucial, leading to dysfunction of mind. The strategy of treatment with acupuncture and moxibustion is proposed, "relieving general pain of the body as the top priority, regulating qi is the pivot, and housing the mind is the foundation". For relieving general pain of the body, acupuncture is applied to Sanyinjiao (SP6) and Zusanli (ST36) that is the essential prescription to relieve muscular pain. For regulating qi, Waiguan (TE5) and Gongsun (SP4) are selected to promote the pivot of shaoyang and regulate qi movement of three jiao. For housing the mind, acupuncture is delivered at Shenmen (HT7) and moxibustion is applied to Yongquan (KI1), Gaohuang (BL43) and Baihui (GV20) to harmonize the heart and kidney and tranquilize the mind. This intervention mode, i.e. harmonizing among body, qi and mind, and promoting the circulation of qi and blood, is conductive to restoring the body, qi and mind. It provides a new idea to clinical diagnosis and treatment of CFS with acupuncture and moxibustion.

Functional dyspepsia (FD), characterized by persistent or recurrent dyspeptic symptoms without identifiable organic, systemic or metabolic causes, is an increasingly recognized global health issue. The objective of this guideline is to equip clinicians and nursing professionals with evidence-based strategies for the management and treatment of adult patients with FD using traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The Guideline Development Group consulted existing TCM consensus documents on FD and convened a panel of 35 clinicians to generate initial clinical queries. To address these queries, a systematic literature search was conducted across PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), VIP Database, China Biology Medicine (SinoMed) Database, Wanfang Database, Traditional Medicine Research Data Expanded (TMRDE), and the Traditional Chinese Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System (TCMLARS). The evidence from the literature was critically appraised using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) approach. The strength of the recommendations was ascertained through a consensus-building process involving TCM and allopathic medicine experts, methodologists, pharmacologists, nursing specialists, and health economists, leveraging their collective expertise and empirical knowledge. The guideline comprises a total of 43 evidence-informed recommendations that span a range of clinical aspects, including the pathogenesis according to TCM, diagnostic approaches, therapeutic interventions, efficacy assessments, and prognostic considerations. Objective To investigate the effect of extracorporeal diaphragmatic pacing(EDP)on wea-ning patients undergoing mechanical ventilation after acute Stanford type A aortic dissection(ATAAD)sur-gery.Methods A total of 80 patients who underwent ATAAD surgery and required mechanical ventilation in the cardiac intensive care unit(CCU)of our hospital from October 2023 to October 2024 were selected as the study subjects.They were randomly divided into a control group and an intervention group using a random number table method,with 40 patients in each group.Both groups of patients received conventional clinical drug therapy,mechanical ventilation support,and rehabilitation exercises after surgery.The intervention group additionally underwent EDP therapy on this basis.The clinical data,mechanical ventilation time,weaning out-comes,oxygenation index,tidal volume,and changes in diaphragm function parameters were compared be-tween two groups of patients.Results Compared with the control group,the intervention group had a shorter mechanical ventilation time[77.00(59.00,133.63)h]vs.54.50(49.00,105.25)h],offline success rate(72.5％vs.90.0％),oxygenation index[202.90(178.63,240.05)mmHg vs.236.50(196.00,293.75)mm-Hg],higher tidal volume[(496.00±111.95)mL vs.(563.23±133.98)mL],with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).Compared with the control group,diaphragmatic excursion(DE)of both sides[11.90(8.50,16.50)mm vs.15.30(12.20,19.80)mm;12.60(10.80,14.90)mm vs.14.70(11.43,19.20)mm]and diaphragmatic thickening fraction(DTF)of left and right side[21.75％(17.53％,27.13％)vs.26.30％(21.10％,32.40％);24.00％(17.68％,29.35％)vs.28.30％(22.43％,33.40％)]of the intervention group were higher,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion EDP can enhance the function of the diaphragm in patients,shorten the duration of mechanical ventilation,improve the success rate of wea-ning,and improve the weaning outcomes of mechanically ventilated patients after ATAAD surgery.

Investigating the correlation between micronucleus formation and male infertility has the potential to improve clinical diagnosis and deepen our understanding of pathological progression. Our study enrolled 2252 male patients whose semen was analyzed from March 2023 to July 2023. Their clinical data, including semen parameters and age, were also collected. Genetic analysis was used to determine whether the sex chromosome involved in male infertility was abnormal (including the increase, deletion, and translocation of the X and Y chromosomes), and subsequent semen analysis was conducted for clinical grouping purposes. The participants were categorized into five groups: normozoospermia, asthenozoospermia, oligozoospermia, oligoasthenozoospermia, and azoospermia. Patients were randomly selected for further study; 41 patients with normozoospermia were included in the control group and 117 patients with non-normozoospermia were included in the study group according to the proportions of all enrolled patients. Cytokinesis-block micronucleus (CBMN) screening was conducted through peripheral blood. Statistical analysis was used to determine the differences in micronuclei (MNi) among the groups and the relationships between MNi and clinical data. There was a significant increase in MNi in infertile men, including those with azoospermia, compared with normozoospermic patients, but there was no significant difference between the genetic and nongenetic groups in azoospermic men. The presence of MNi was associated with sperm concentration, progressive sperm motility, immotile spermatozoa, malformed spermatozoa, total sperm count, and total sperm motility. This study underscores the potential utility of MNi as a diagnostic tool and highlights the need for further research to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of male infertility.

OBJECTIVES: To investigate the therapeutic effects and mechanisms of 2,6-dimethoxy-1,4-benzoquinone (2,6-DMBQ) in a mouse model of asthma. METHODS: SPF-grade BALB/c mice were randomly divided into 7 groups (n=8 each group): normal control group, ovalbumin (OVA) group, dimethyl sulfoxide+corn oil group, budesonide (BUD) group, and low, medium, and high dose 2,6-DMBQ groups. An asthma mouse model was established by OVA induction, followed by corresponding drug interventions. Non-invasive lung function tests were performed to measure airway hyperresponsiveness, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to determine levels of interleukin (IL)-17, IL-10, and serum immunoglobulin E in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid. A cell counter was employed to detect eosinophil counts in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, while hematoxylin-eosin staining and periodic acid-Schiff staining were used to assess lung tissue pathological changes. Western blot was conducted to examine the expression of proteins related to the mammalian target of rapamycin pathway (p-AKT/AKT and p-p70S6K/p70S6K), and a fully automated biochemical analyzer was used to evaluate liver and kidney functions. RESULTS: Compared with the normal control group, the OVA group showed increased enhanced pause values, inflammation scores from hematoxylin-eosin staining, positive area from periodic acid-Schiff staining, percentage of eosinophils, IL-17/IL-10 ratio, serum immunoglobulin E levels, and relative expression levels of p-AKT/AKT and p-p70S6K/p70S6K (P<0.05). The BUD group and the medium and high dose 2,6-DMBQ groups exhibited decreased values for these indicators compared to the OVA group (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS 2,6-DMBQ can inhibit the mTOR pathway to alleviate airway inflammation in asthmatic mice, possibly by mitigating the imbalance between Th17 and regulatory T cells.

Due to the wide variety and varying quality of medical wound dressings, as well as the current lack of unified national or industry standards for regulation, this paper proposes a research strategy for establishing a quality evaluation system for medical wound dressings‌. By developing a technical roadmap, this strategy clarifies the process flow and key points in the quality evaluation process, establishes evaluation methods for various types of medical wound dressings, and addresses important issues such as how to determine key performance indicators based on product characteristics and how to research and validate test methods for key items. This provides a detailed and feasible research strategy and evaluation method for medical wound dressing manufacturers, testing institutions, and regulatory authorities. It reduces the difficulty and cost of quality evaluation for medical wound dressings and has certain significance in standardizing and improving their quality level, ensuring their safety and effectiveness, and serving the quality and safety regulation of medical devices.‌.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of miR-483-5p on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells proliferation and stemness, as well as the attenuating effect of Pien Tze Huang (PZH). METHODS: Differentially expressed miRNA between HepG2 cells and hepatic cancer stem-like cells (HCSCs) were identified by a miRNA microarray assay. miR-483-5p mimics were transfected into HepG2 cells to explore the effects of miR-483-5p on cell proliferation and stemness. HepG2 cells and HCSCs were treated with PZH (0, 0.25, 0.50 and 0.75 mg/mL) to explore the effects of PZH on the proliferation and stemness, both in non-induced state and the state induced by miR-483-5p mimics. RESULTS: miR-483-5p was significantly up-regulated in HCSCs and its overexpression increased cell proliferation and stemness in HepG2 cells (P<0.05). PZH not only significantly inhibited proliferation in HepG2 cells, but also significantly suppressed the cell proliferation and self-renewal of HCSCs (P<0.05). The effects of miR-483-5p mimics on proliferation and stemness of HepG2 cells were partially abolished by PZH. CONCLUSIONS miR-483-5p promotes proliferation and enhances stemness of HepG2 cells, which were attenuated by PZH, demonstrating that miR-483-5p is a potential molecular target for the treatment of HCC and provide experimental evidence to support clinical use of PZH for patients with HCC.
