ObjectiveTo identify potential influencing factors of urate crystal deposition at ankle/foot in patients with hyperuricemia (HUA), and to analyze the predictive value of inflammatory indicators for urate crystal deposition in patients with different traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndromes, so as to provide potential reference for clinical risk assessment and individualized TCM intervention. MethodsA retrospective study was carried out with the enrollment of 231 HUA patients from The Third Affiliated People's Hospital of Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between January 2021 and December 2024. The enrolled patients were further divided into a crystal deposition-positive group (143 cases) and a crystal deposition-negative group (88 cases) according to the results of dual-energy computed tomography (CT). Sociodemographic data, living habits, serum uric acid levels, and inflammatory indicators of the enrolled patients were collcted, and TCM syndrome differentiation was performed. Furthermore, univariate analysis was used to compare inter-group differences in clinical characteristics. MMultivariate Logistic regression was applied to identify the influencing factors of urate crystal deposition. In addition, the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were plotted to evaluate the predictive efficacy of inflammatory indicators for crystal deposition across different TCM syndromes. ResultsThere were statistically significant inter-group differences in the proportion of males, age, body mass index, proportion of mental labor, rate of low water intake, and rate of high-sugar beverage consumption (P<0.05),whereas no significant difference in low exercise intensity was found between the two groups. Furthermore, compared with the negative group, the positive group had higher serum uric acid level, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), but lower systemic immune-inflammation index (SIRI) (P<0.05). Regarding the distribution of TCM syndromes, the positive group was dominated by the dampness-heat accumulation syndrome (55/143,38.46%), while the negative group was mainly characterized by the phlegm-turbidity obstruction syndrome (44/88,50.00%). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis revealed that high-sugar beverage consumption, elevated NLR, and elevated PLR were risk factors for urate crystal deposition [odd ratio (OR) = 8.002, 5.377, 1.034, respectively; 95% CI 1.572-40.732, 2.179-13.270, 1.013-1.054,all P<0.05], while SIRI was a protective factor (OR = 0.869, 95% CI 0.778-0.971, P<0.05). In the positive group, patients with the dampness-heat accumulation syndrome exhibited the highest NLR, while the lowest PLR and SIRI, showing statistically significant differences with those of other syndromes (all P<0.05). In addition, ROC curve analysis indicated that for the dampness-heat accumulation syndrome, the combined "NLR + PLR" model had an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.901 (95% CI 0.850-0.951, P<0.01), with a sensitivity of 89.1% and a specificity of 79.5%; for the blood stasis-heat obstruction syndrome, the combined "NLR + PLR" model had an AUC of 0.880 (95% CI 0.825-0.934, P<0.01), with a sensitivity of 100.0% and a specificity of 67.3%; for the liver-kidney Yin-deficiency syndrome, the single PLR model had an AUC of 0.842 (95% CI 0.731-0.952, P<0.01), with a sensitivity of 83.3% and a specificity of 84.0%. ConclusionUrate crystal deposition in HUA patients exhibits intimate associations with high-sugar beverage consumption as well as elevated NLR and PLR levels. Meanwhile, TCM syndrome differentiation has potential correlation with inflammatory characteristics. The inflammatory indicator-based prediction model constructed based on TCM syndromes exhibits good predictive value.

Objective:
To review the relationship between 24 hour movement behaviors and physical and mental health among college students, in order to provide evidence to support health promotion and further research in universities.
Methods:
Following the Joanna Briggs Institude(JBI) scoping review guidelines, relevant studies published in databases from inception date to December 26, 2025 were searched, including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Wanfang Data. For studies meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a descriptive analysis was conducted to summarize the measurement tools used, adherence rates with guidelines, and the relationship between physical and mental health.
Results:
A total of 30 studies were included. Measurement tools exhibited a high heterogeneity, with questionnaires being the primary method. The rate of full adherence with 24 hour movement behaviors among college students was less than 30%. Moderate to vigorous physical activity and high quality sleep were associated with improvements in physical fitness, cardiopulmonary function, and mental health, while prolonged sitting was negatively associated with obesity and depression. Equivalent time substitution analysis indicated that increasing moderate to vigorous physical activity and reducing prolonged sitting could significantly improve health outcomes.
Conclusions
The adherence rate for 24 hour movement behaviors among college students is low and it is closely associated with physical and mental health. Future studies should standardize measurement tools, and implement targeted interventions based on the optimization of daily activity patterns.

Objective To evaluate the safety and efficacy of a self-developed micro-normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) system (micro-perfusion device) for preserving isolated porcine limbs. Methods Five healthy Landrace pigs were selected, and their left and right forelimbs were randomly divided into the NMP group and static cold storage (SCS) group. The NMP group was perfused with the self-developed micro-perfusion device and polymerized hemoglobin perfusate for 32 hours at normothermia, while the SCS group was preserved at 4 ℃. Hemodynamic parameters such as perfusion pressure and flow were monitored. The pH value, partial pressure of oxygen (PO2), lactic acid (Lac), creatine kinase (CK) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in the perfusate were measured. Hematoxylin-eosin staining was used to assess the muscle tissue structure, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling was employed to evaluate muscle cell apoptosis, and immunohistochemistry staining was applied to detect the expressions of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and interleukin (IL)-6. A mixed-effects model was used to analyze the effects of time and treatment methods on tissue structure, cell apoptosis and inflammatory factors. Results The device could stably maintain a perfusion pressure of (69±15) mmHg and a flow rate of (117±42) mL/min. The pH value and electrolytes of the perfusate were generally stable, with PO2 maintained at a high level. Lac was maintained at 5.38(3.81, 6.45) mmol/L, while CK and LDH increased over time. After 32 hours of perfusion in the NMP group, both the myocyte spacing and apoptosis rate were better than those in the SCS group. Mixed-effects model analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in the effects of NMP treatment and SCS treatment on myocyte spacing and apoptosis rate per unit time (both P < 0.05). There were no statistically significant differences in TNF-α and IL-6 between the two groups, and mixed-effects model analysis showed no statistically significant differences in the effects of NMP treatment and SCS treatment on TNF-α and IL-6 per unit time (both P > 0.05). Conclusions The micro-perfusion device used in this study may achieve 32-hour normothermic preservation in a porcine limb amputation model, maintain basic metabolism and ionic homeostasis, reduce muscle structural damage and cell apoptosis without inducing additional inflammatory responses. This technology is expected to significantly extend the time window for replantation of amputated limbs in disaster rescue and long-distance transportation, providing an important technical basis for clinical translation and subsequent replantation research.
4.Mechanical effect of mechanical wear of abutment screws on the Morse taper connection implant system:a three-dimensional finite element analysis
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2026;30(6):1375-1383
BACKGROUND:Abutment screw loosening is one of the most common mechanical complications in implant restoration.Mechanical wear,as a potential cause of thread loosening, warrants attention due to its impact on mechanical performance and long-term stability. However, studies on the mechanical effects of thread wear in abutment screws remain limited, and no definitive conclusions have been reached.OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of different degrees of mechanical wear on the spatial stress distribution of the Morse taper connection implant system, with a view to providing a theoretical basis for the clinical assessment of the long-term stability of dental implants.METHODS:Three-dimensional finite element models of Morse taper implants with central screw thread wear levels of 0,0.1,1,10,and 100 μm were established using SolidWorks software, and simulation analysis with Ansys Workbench software was performed. The implant models were inserted into artificial bone blocks(simulating type Ⅱ bone, with a cortical bone thickness of 2 mm on the outer layer and cancellous bone inside). An alternating load of 300 N in the buccolingual direction was applied at the centroid of the abutment(forming an angle of 30° with the long axis of the implant). The von Mises stress, principal stress, displacement, and fatigue life of the abutment, central screw, implant, and bone tissue in the five groups of models were analyzed.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)As the degree of mechanical wear on the central screw thread increased, the von Mises stress, principal stress, and strain in the implant and abutment also increased. The stress in the model was concentrated at the top of the implant,at the shoulder level of the implant,at the neck of the abutment, and at the bottom edge of the abutment.(2)Under moderate wear conditions(≥ 10 μm),the fatigue life of the implant system decreased by 30%,and the maximum von Mises stress of the central screw decreased by 37%,with the stress still primarily concentrated at the transition area between the head and the body of the central screw.(3)Under significant wear conditions(≥ 100 μm),the von Mises stress of the central screw decreased by 98%,with the stress concentrated at the screw head, and the fatigue life of the implant system decreased by 63%.Therefore,when the wear level of the central screw thread reaches ≥ 10 μm,the risk of screw loosening is significantly increased, and the fatigue life of the implant system is markedly reduced, warranting clinical attention.

The study focuses on the concept of multifunctional traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulas and aims to evaluate the efficacy of the classical formula Xiaoyao San (逍遥散). Study employs the integrated evidence chain (Eff-iEC) method to organize, integrate, and evaluate its therapeutic efficacy in treating different diseases with the same therapy, and to investigate the feasibility of using Eff-iEC to evaluate the multifunctionality of TCM formulas. The evaluation covered Xiaoyao San's therapeutic effects on depression, premenstrual syndrome, chronic hepatitis, irritable bowel syndrome, dyspepsia, and menopausal syndrome. Concurrently, the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) system was used for evaluation, and authoritative medical documents were incorporated to corroborate the recognition of Xiaoyao San within the medical community. Depression and menopausal syndrome received higher ratings than other conditions in the Eff-iEC, GRADE, and Medical Community Recognition assessments. The Eff-iEC evidence grade for Xiaoyao San was rated as "High" or above for chronic hepatitis, irritable bowel syndrome, dyspepsia, and menopausal syndrome. Premenstrual syndrome received a "Moderate +" rating. The GRADE evidence level was "Low-〇〇⨁⨁" for depression, premenstrual syndrome, and chronic hepatitis; "Moderate-〇⨁⨁⨁" for dyspepsia and menopausal syndrome; and "Very Low-〇〇〇⨁" for irritable bowel syndrome. Depression and menopausal syndrome had the highest inclusion frequency, appearing in all 4 categories. Premenstrual syndrome, chronic hepatitis, and dyspepsia are not recommended in Western medical guidelines, but they are included in TCM guidelines, the China National Basic Medical Insurance Drug List, and the China National Essential Drug List. Irritable bowel syndrome appears only in the China National Basic Medical Insurance Drug List and China National Essential Drug List. The evaluation results obtained using the Eff-iEC method align with Medical Community Recognition, providing an objective and comprehensive assessment of Xiaoyao San's efficacy. The findings suggest that Xiaoyao San has strong evidence for treating depression and menopausal syndrome. However, further experimental and clinical trials are needed to assess its efficacy in treating premenstrual syndrome, chronic hepatitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and dyspepsia. These results support the clinical efficacy and rational use of Xiaoyao San, expand the application scope of the Eff-iEC method, and offer valuable insights and methodological references for the comparative evaluation of multifunctional TCM formulas.

Objective To investigate the effect of gender on prognosis after transcatheter patent foramen ovale(PFO)closure in patients with cerebral infarction or transient ischemic attack. Methods A retrospective cohort study was conducted involving patients with cerebral infarction or transient ischemic attack(TIA)who underwent PFO closure at our hospital between January 2013 and December 2023.The patients were grouped by gender, and related data were collected, including age, comorbidities,Risk of Paradoxical Embolism(RoPE)score, laboratory results, findings of transthoracic/transesophageal echocardiography(TTE/TEE),and post-procedural complications, such as device-related thrombosis(DRT),recurrent stroke, bleeding, and atrial fibrillation(AF).Results A total of 112 patients were enrolled, including 59 males and 53 females,at a mean age of 42.47±12.35 years. The females had significantly higher preoperative RoPE score than the males(6.6±1.4 vs 6.0±1.5,P=0.046),and a statistical difference was observed in the distribution of infarction sites between them(Chi-square=10.25,P=0.006),indicating that the males were prone to posterior circulation infarction.Intraoperative transthoracic echocardiography revealed a greater distance from the PFO to the aortic root in the females(9.3±2.4 mm vs 7.6±2.0 mm,P<0.001).During a median follow-up of 4 years, the male group had 1 case of myocardial infarction,1 cerebral hemorrhage,1 paroxysmal AF,2 gingival bleeding episodes, and 1 skin ecchymosis. In the female group,1 case experienced pulmonary embolism,1 paroxysmal atrial fibrillation,3 gingival bleeding episodes,2 skin ecchymoses,2 recurrent cerebral infarctions, and 2 recurrent TIAs.There was no statistical difference in overall adverse events between gender(P=0.291).Although the females had higher rates of recurrent cerebral infarction and TIA,this difference lacked statistical significance(P=0.222).Multivariate Cox regression analysis indicated that after adjusting for various potential confounding factors, such as RoPE score, age, hypertension, coronary heart disease, and other factors, gender was not an independent predictor of composite endpoint events after surgery. Conclusion Gender does not significantly affect overall prognosis after PFO closure in patients with cerebral infarction or TIA.However, females showed a trend toward higher rates of recurrent cerebral infarction and TIA.

As a new generation of time-of-flight mass spectrometry,multiple-reflection time-of-flight mass spectrometry(MR-TOF-MS)has been increasingly applied in the fields such as nuclear physics, chemistry, and biology due to its ultra-high resolution and rapid analysis capabilities. However, the analytical performance of MR-TOF-MS largely depends on the ion bunch state entering the mass analyzer. In this study,a rectangular ion trap(RIT)was developed, designed and processed using printed circuit board technology,as an ion accumulating and focusing device for MR-TOF mass analyzer.Compared to traditional ion traps composed of two sets of planar electrodes, this RIT had higher voltage utilization efficiency, resulting in more efficient ion collection and focusing. The ions were cooled to a sufficiently small bunch for precise mass measurement with MR-TOF-MS mass spectrometry in only 1 ms of cooling time in the RIT,then orthogonally ejected to the MR-TOF mass spectrometer for mass analysis.Experimental results indicated that the working cycle, ion flux, and ion focusing state of the RIT fully met the requirements of the MR-TOF mass analyzer. When coupled with the MR-TOF mass analyzer, the RIT enabled MR-TOF-MS to achieve a mass resolution of 1.5×105.
