Background Diseases severely affect the efficiency of workers. Comorbidity refers to the coexistence of two or more chronic diseases or health problems in the same individual. Previous studies have primarily focused on occupational injuries caused by environmental exposures, while the analysis of the epidemiological characteristics of self-reported diseases and occupational injuries among manufacturing workers has been insufficient. Objective To analyze the distribution of self-reported diseases and occupational injuries among manufacturing workers, the strength of correlation between different diseases, and common disease combinations, and to preliminarily explore the relationship between self-reported diseases and occupational injuries. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted to investigate the occupational injuries of 2382 workers in 2 manufacturing enterprises over the past year, and 2355 questionnaires were valid after cleaning. The questionnaire included three parts: basic information, occupational injury occurrence, and disease prevalence. The self-reported diseases diagnosed by physicians included musculoskeletal diseases, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, mental health problems, neurological and sensory organ diseases, digestive organ diseases, reproductive and urinary organ diseases, skin diseases, tumors, endocrine and metabolic system diseases, blood diseases and birth defects, a total of 11 types. Log-binomial model was used to calculate the prevalence ratio (PR) value of the association between different diseases, and UpSet diagram was used to present the disease combination pattern. Results In total, 40.2% (946/2355) of the study participants reported at least one disease, while 8.6% (203/2355), 5.2% (122/2355), and 5.9% (140/2355) reported having two, three, and four or more diseases, respectively. A higher prevalence was observed for musculoskeletal diseases, neurological and sensory organ diseases, digestive organ diseases, and skin diseases, which accounted for 18.0% (423/2355), 13.8% (324/2355), 9.3% (218/2355), and 9.1% (214/2355), respectively. Workers with musculoskeletal disorders, cardiovascular diseases, or neurological and sensory organ diseases reported significantly higher incidence of occupational injuries compared with workers without the corresponding diseases (P<0.001, P=0.041, and P=0.006, respectively). Musculoskeletal diseases were strongly associated with comorbidities of neurological and sensory organ diseases (PR values were 1.86 and 1.98, respectively), and the other patters were musculoskeletal diseases and digestive organ diseases (PR and OR values were 1.57 and 2.35, respectively), and musculoskeletal diseases and cardiovascular diseases (PR and OR values were 1.46 and 2.22, respectively). The largest binomial comorbidity group involved musculoskeletal diseases and neurological and sensory organ diseases, accounting for 5.4% (25/465) of the comorbid workers. Conclusion Among the self-reported diseases of manufacturing workers, musculoskeletal diseases, neurological and sensory organ diseases, digestive organ diseases, and skin diseases are more common. Musculoskeletal diseases and neurological and sensory organ diseases are the most common in all comorbidities. Musculoskeletal diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological and sensory organ diseases are associated with occupational injuries. In the prevention and control of occupational injuries, joint prevention strategies targeting multiple diseases should be strengthened.

Objective:To investigate the characteristics of pathogen spectrum and the clinical significance of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF)metagenomic next-generation sequencing(mNGS)in malignant tumor patients with pulmonary infections.Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed for the patients with malignant tumor who were admitted to department of oncology,the Second affiliated hospital of army medical university,from January 2021 to December 2024.All patients developed respiratory symptoms dur-ing treatment and were diagnosed with pulmonary inflammation based on lung imaging findings,and BALF mNGS and sputum cul-ture were used for pathogen detection.A descriptive analysis was used to summarize the clinical data of patients and the distribution of pathogens,which was compared between patients with different cancer types and metastatic statuses.BALF mNGS and sputum cul-ture were compared in terms of diagnostic performance.Results:A total of 127 patients were enrolled,among whom 70.9%had non-small cell lung cancer,15.0%had small cell lung cancer,and 14.1%had other malignancies.The patients with distant metastasis ac-counted for 48.0%.A total of 145 BALF mNGS tests were performed,among which 84 tests(57.9%)yielded positive results for patho-gens,and 13 tests detected polymicrobial infections,accounting for 15.5%(13/84).A total of 121 pathogenic strains were identified,with fungi(41.3%)and Gram-negative bacteria(39.7%)as the main pathogens,and common pathogens for infection included Pneumo-cystis jirovecii(16.5%),Candida albicans(11.6%),Haemophilus influenzae(11.6%),Klebsiella pneumoniae(10.7%),Pseudomonas ae-ruginosa(10.7%),and Staphylococcus aureus(8.3%).There was a significant difference in the distribution of pathogens between the pa-tients with different types of cancer and statuses of distant metastasis,but Pneumocystis jirovecii remained the most common pathogen for opportunistic infection across all subgroups.A total of 70 patients underwent both sputum culture and BALF mNGS,and the posi-tive rate of sputum culture was only 16.0%,which was significantly lower than that of BALF mNGS(χ2=35.52,P<0.001).The concor-dance rate between sputum culture and BALF mNGS was 48.1%.Conclusion:BALF mNGS can accurately reveal the complex patho-gen spectrum in malignant tumor patients with pulmonary infections,especially the high-risk opportunistic pathogens such as Pneumo-cystis jirovecii.For patients with negative results of sputum culture,BALF mNGS can significantly improve the detection rates of patho-gens and polymicrobial infections.

By using a strategy of leveraging the ability of metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)materials to precisely regulate the spatial orientation of cyclodextrins(CD),a polystyrene-modified γ-cyclodextrin metal-organic frameworks(PS-CD-MOFs)capillary coating was established and applied to the chiral separation of amino acids in open-tubular capillary electrochromatography(OT-CEC)based on the excellent film-forming property of polystyrene(PS).Characterization results by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),X-ray diffraction(XRD)indicated that PS was successfully grafted onto the surface of CD-MOFs.The modification significantly improved the structural stability and thermal stability of CD-MOFs while maintaining the integrity of the MOFs.The PS-CD-MOFs coated capillary electrophoresis system exhibited excellent performance in separating dansylated amino acid enantiomers(Dns-D,L-AAs).Specifically,under the optimal separation conditions(Sodium dodecyl sulfate/boric acid buffer system,20 cm capillary,and 10 kV effective voltage),good separation was achieved for D,L-methionine(D,L-Met)and D,L-serine(D,L-Ser).Further quantitative analysis showed that Dns-D,L-Met presented a good linear relationship in the concentration range of 10.0-1500.0 μmol/L,with a correlation coefficient close to 0.998,demonstrating high sensitivity and repeatability.Not only did it overcome the problem that traditional CD(used as additives in capillary electrophoresis)could not precisely control the spatial orientation of chiral resolvents,but also it solved the issues of insufficient stability and bonding amount of CD-MOFs coatings by utilizing the excellent film-forming property of polymers on the inner wall of capillaries.This study provided an efficient and controllable new strategy for construction of chiral separation stationary phases.

Objective To investigate the value of carvedilol or propranolol in preventing rebleeding in patients with esophageal variceal bleeding(EVB)in liver cirrhosis.Methods Patients with EVB in liver cirrhosis were divided into the treatment group and the control group.The treatment group was treated with oral administration of carvedilol dispersible tablets,with an initial dose of 6.25 mg,bid.The control group was treated with oral administration of propranolol hydrochloride tablets,with an initial dose of 20 mg,bid.The treatment course of two groups was 1 year.The effects between two groups were compared.The rebleeding rate,and hemodynamics between two groups were compared treated after 6 months and 1 year of treatment.Safety that occurred during treatment were observed.Results The treatment group consisted of 64 patients,while the control group consisted of 61 patients.After treatment,the overall response rate in the treatment group was 93.75％(60 cases/64 cases),while the control group was 91.80％(56 cases/61 cases),without statistically significant difference between the groups(all P＞0.05).After 6 months of treatment,rebleeding rates in the treatment group and the control group were 4.69％(3 cases/64 cases)and 9.84％(6 cases/61 cases),without statistically significant difference between the groups(P＞0.05).After 1 year of treatment,rebleeding rates in the treatment group and the control group were 10.94％(7 cases/64 cases)and 24.59％(15 cases/61 cases),without statistically significant difference between the groups(P＜0.05).After 6 months of treatment,portal vein diameter(PVD)in the treatment group and the control group were(12.39±2.41)and(13.88±1.76)mm;splenic vein diameter(SVD)were(7.56±1.52)and(8.35±1.69)mm;mean blood flow velocity of portal vein(Vp)were(35.26±7.04)and(38.12±7.60)cm·s-1;mean blood flow velocity of splenic vein(Vs)were(20.03±4.11)and(22.34±4.69)cm·s-1.Compared with control group,the above indexes of treatment group had statistical significance(all P＜0.05).After 1 year of treatment,PVD in the treatment group and the control group were(11.87±2.52)and(13.15±2.04)mm;SVD were(7.33±1.48)and(8.22±1.55)mm;Vp were(33.96±6.75)and(37.46±6.83)cm·s-1;Vs were(19.26±4.33)and(21.55±4.47)cm·s-1.Compared with control group,the above indexes of treatment group had statistical significance(all P＜0.05).Adverse drug reactions in the treatment group included bradycardia,hypotension,dizziness,nausea and vomiting,while adverse reactions in the control group included bradycardia,hypotension,dizziness,drowsiness,nausea and vomiting,and skin rash.The total incidence of adverse drug reactions in the treatment group was 12.50％,while the control group was 27.87％,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion Compared to propranolol,carvedilol can better prevent rebleeding and relieve esophageal varices.

Objective To explore the application value of Fast Dixon technique in MR hip joint scanning.Methods Fifty young volunteers were recruited to perform axial and coronal MR scans of the hip joint.The scanning sequence was Fast Dixon T2WI sequence and conventional Dixon T2WI sequence.A double-blind five-point scale was used to subjectively evaluate the image quality of the two types sequences.The signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)and contrast-to-noise ratio(CNR)of the axial image were measured at the maximum level of the bladder display.Results In the scores of"good contrast between surrounding tissue and femoral head signal"and"overall image quality",the Fast Dixon T2WI sequence was better than the conventional Dixon T2WI sequence,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the average scores of"whether bladder artifacts affected the diagnosis"and"whether the fat suppression effect was good"between Fast Dixon T2WI sequence and conventional Dixon T2WI sequence(P>0.05).In the objective image quality evaluation,the SNR and CNR of Fast Dixon T2WI sequence were better than those of conventional Dixon T2WI sequence,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The image quality score of the hip joint of young volunteers with Fast Dixon T2WI sequence combined with multiple averaging excitation technique is significantly higher than that of conventional Dixon T2WI sequence.The Fast Dixon T2WI sequence can increase the effect of inhibiting fat and motion artifacts without increasing the scanning time,and the joint face ratio is good.Fast Dixon technique can replace the traditional Dixon technique,thus becoming an optimal choice for hip joint MR scanning.

Objective:To explore the predictive value of the prognostic nutritional index (PNI) in concurrently infected patients with acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF).Methods:220 cases with ACLF diagnosed and treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University from January 2011 to December 2016 were selected. Patients were divided into an infection and non-infection group according to whether they had co-infections during the course of the disease. Clinical data differences were compared between the two groups of patients. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to screen out influencing factors related to co-infection. The receiver operating characteristic curve was used to evaluate the predictive value of PNI for ACLF co-infection. The measurement data between groups were compared using the independent sample t-test and the Mann-Whitney U rank sum test. The enumeration data were analyzed using the Fisher exact probability test or the Pearson χ2 test. The Pearson method was performed for correlation analysis. The independent risk factors for liver failure associated with co-infection were analyzed by multivariate logistic analysis. [Objective] To investigate the effects of advanced male age on the incidence of polyspermy fertilization. [Methods] The study involved data of 4210 in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles treated in our center during Jan.2016 and Sep.2022, including 4053 patients younger than 40 years and 157 patients above 40 years.After propensity score matching, 152 patients in the advance group and 421 in the young group were recruited.The baseline data and the difference in polyspermy fertilization rate were compared between the two groups. [Results] After propensity score matching, there were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of female age, infertility type, infertility years, infertility factors, female body mass index (BMI), male BMI, semen volume, semen pH value, sperm concentration, sperm motility, progressive motility rate, percentage of normal sperm morphology, number of fertilized eggs and number of MⅡ eggs (P>0.05). Among the 573 fresh IVF cycles, the rate of 3 PN cycles was 35.5%, and the incidence of polyspermy fertilization was 6.5%.There were no significant differences in the number of polyspermy fertilized eggs, transferable embryos, high-quality embryos, and blastocysts between the two groups. [Conclusion] Advanced male age has no significant effect on the incidence of polyspermy fertilization.

Objective To investigate the impacts of LINC00943 on proliferation,apoptosis,and invasion of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)cells by regulating the miR-126-5p/HOXB2 axis.Methods QRT-PCR was applied to detect the expression of LINC00943 in 45 ESCC tissues and cell lines;The effects of LINC00943 knockdown on the proliferation,apoptosis and invasion of KYSE30 cells were detected by MTT assay,flow cytometry and Transwell chamber.Western blot was applied to detect the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA),Bcl-2 associated X protein(Bax),anti apoptotic factor B cell lymphomatoma-2(Bcl-2),cleaved caspase-3,matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2),MMP-9,and HOXB2;dual luciferase reporter gene experiment was applied to verify the relationship between miR-126-5p and LINC00943 and HOXB2;the ESCC nude mouse in vivo model was constructed and separated into si-NC and si-LINC00943 groups,the tumor mass and volume were measured,qRT-PCR was applied to detect the expression of miR-126-5p in transplanted tumor tissue,immunohistochemistry was applied to detect the expression of HOXB2 protein in transplanted tumor tissue,and TUNEL staining was applied to detect cell apoptosis in tumor tissue.Results The expression of LINC00943 mRNA increased in ESCC tissues and cell lines(P＜0.05);Compared with the si-NC group,the proliferation activity,migration and invasion cell number,HOXB2,PCNA,MMP-2,MMP-9 and Bcl-2 protein expression of KYSE30 cells in the si-LINC00943 group were decreased,and the expression of miR-126-5 p,Bax,Cleaved Caspase-3 and apoptosis rate were increased(P＜0.05);downregulation of miR-126-5p was able to weaken the inhibitory effect of LINC00943 knockdown on the malignant behavior of KYSE30 cells(P＜0.05);dual luciferase reporter gene experiment confirmed the targeted regulatory relationship between miR-126-5p and LINC00943,and miR-126-5p and HOXB2(P＜0.05);The ESCC nude mouse model was constructed in vivo and divided into si-NC and si-LINC00943 groups.The tumor mass,tumor volume,expression of miR-126-5p and HOXB2 in transplanted tumor tissues and apoptosis rate of tumor cells were measured.(P＜0.05).Conclusion LINC00943 is highly expressed in ESCC tissues and cell lines.Knocking down LINC00943 may inhibit the expression of HOXB2 by up-regulating the expression of miR-126-5p,promote the apoptosis of ESCC cells,and inhibit their proliferation,migration and invasion.

Objective:To analyze the effects of low-dose methimazole treatment on thyroid volume and calcitonin levels in patients with hyperthyroidism.Methods:A total of 100 hyperthyroidism patients who were treated at the Mianyang Central Hospital from January to June 2019 were selected and randomly divided into a control group (50 cases) and an observation group (50 cases) using a random number table method. The control group was treated with once a day and 30 mg/dose of methimazole, while the observation group was treated with twice a day and 10 mg/dose of methimazole. Thyroid volume, and thyroid function [Thyroid growth hormone (TSH), free triiodothyronine (FT3), free thyroxine (FT4), and thyroid stimulating hormone receptor antibody (TRAb)] before and after treatment in two groups of patients, the changes in serum levels of calcitonin (CT), visfatin, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and interleukin-6 (IL-6) were compared. The clinical efficacy of two groups were also compared.Results:The total clinical effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group ( P<0.05). After treatment, the thyroid volume in the observation group was significantly smaller than that in the control group, and the CT level was significantly lower than that in the control group (all P<0.05). After treatment, the TSH level in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group, while the levels of FT3, FT4, and TRAb were significantly lower than those in the control group (all P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of Visfatin, TNF-α, and IL-6 in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (all P<0.05). Conclusions:Low dose methimazole can improve thyroid function, reduce thyroid volume, lower body CT and inflammation levels in patients with hyperthyroidism, and has a better therapeutic effect.
