ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical efficacy of Shenqi Yangxin decoction in the treatment of ischemic cardiomyopathy （ICM） with Qi and Yin deficiency and blood stasis syndrome and its effect on serum hydrogen sulfide （H₂S） and calcium ion （Ca²⁺）. MethodsA total of 64 ICM patients with Qi and Yin deficiency and blood stasis syndrome who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into a control group （n=32） and a treatment group （n=32）. All patients received conventional Western medicine treatment. The treatment group was additionally given Shenqi Yangxin decoction. The TCM syndrome score， Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire （MLHFQ） score， left ventricular ejection fraction （LVEF）， N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide （NT-proBNP）， 6-minute walk test （6MWT）， New York Heart Association （NYHA） cardiac function classification， and serum H₂S and Ca²⁺ levels were compared between the two groups pre- and post-treatment. ResultsTwo cases dropped out from each group during the study. Finally， 30 patients in each group were included in the analysis. There were no significant differences in age， gender， course of coronary heart disease， underlying diseases， and laboratory tests between the two groups. Compared with baseline， the TCM syndrome score， MLHFQ score， and NT-proBNP in both treatment group and control group decreased significantly （P<0.01）， LVEF， 6MWT， and H₂S increased significantly （P<0.01）， and serum Ca²⁺ increased （P<0.05）. Compared with the control group after treatment， the MLHFQ score and NT-proBNP in the treatment group decreased （P<0.05）， the TCM syndrome score decreased significantly （P<0.01）， LVEF， 6MWT， and serum Ca²⁺ increased （P<0.05）， and H₂S increased significantly （P<0.01）. The improvement degree of the NYHA cardiac function classification in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group， but there was no significant difference. ConclusionShenqi Yangxin decoction is effective in treating ICM patients with Qi and Yin deficiency and blood stasis， which could significantly improve cardiac function and quality of life， and its therapeutic effect may be related to the regulation of serum H₂S and Ca²⁺ levels.

Work serves as a critical means of obtaining resources, facilitating personal growth, realizing self-worth, and engaging in social interactions. However, work-related diseases pose significant threats to workers’ health and productivity, and impose considerable economic burdens. This article categorized work-related diseases into six major types, including musculoskeletal disorders, mental and behavioral disorders, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, digestive system diseases, reproductive system diseases, and non-specific respiratory diseases, and summarized their risk factors, assessment methods, policy regulation, and prevention and control measures. Current research in this field predominantly relies on cross-sectional studies, which present limitations in causal inference and potential risks of bias. Future studies should expand sample sizes, optimize research designs, and establish multidimensional evaluation systems to comprehensively assess the health and economic impacts of work-related diseases. It is recommended to enhance the translation of research findings into practice, thereby providing a scientific basis for the occupational health protection system and promoting the well-being and sustainable development of the working population.

AIM:This study aims to investigate the effects of Feixin decoction(FXD)on pyroptosis of pulmo-nary artery smooth muscle cells(PASMCs)by modulating nuclear factor κB(NF-κB)/nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor protein 3(NLRP3)pathway,and to explore how FXD attenuates hypoxic pulmonary hypertension(HPH)in mice.METHODS:A mouse model of HPH was established using the Sugen 5416 combined hypoxia(SuHx)method.Sixty C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into 6 groups:control group,SuHx group,sildenafil group,and low-,medium-and high-dose FXD groups,with 10 mice in each group.Five weeks after treatment,echocardiographic pa-rameters,including pulmonary artery acceleration time(PAT),pulmonary artery ejection time(PET),right ventricular anterior wall thickness at diastole(RVAWd)and tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion(TAPSE),were measured.Right ventricular systolic pressure(RVSP)was assessed via right heart catheterization.Right ventricular hypertrophy in-dex(RVHI)was determined by weighing the hearts.Histological examination using HE staining was conducted to observe pathological changes in small pulmonary arteries and the right ventricle,while Masson staining was used to assess fibrosis in the right ventricular wall.Immunofluorescence staining was used to detect co-localized expression of α-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA)with NLRP3,N-terminal fragment of gasdermin D(N-GSDMD)and caspase-1 in the pulmonary arteries.Western blot analysis was conducted to measure the protein levels of NF-κB,p-NF-κB,NLRP3,apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a caspase recruitment domain(ASC),N-GSDMD,interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-18 and cleaved caspase-1 in lung tissues.Transmission electron microscopy was employed to observe the ultrastructure of PASMCs.RE-SULTS:Compared with control group,the mice in SuHx group exhibited elevated RVSP and RVHI(P＜0.01),de-creased right heart function(P＜0.01),increased right ventricular wall fibrosis,and pulmonary vascular remodeling(P＜0.01).There was also increased co-localized expression of α-SMA with NLRP3,N-GSDMD and caspase-1 in small pul-monary arteries(P＜0.01),as well as elevated levels of p-NF-κB,NLRP3,ASC,N-GSDMD,IL-1β,IL-18 and cleaved caspase-1 in lung tissues(P＜0.01),indicating induced pyroptosis of PASMCs.Compared with SuHx group,FXD treat-ment significantly reduced RVSP and RVHI,improved right ventricular function,and attenuated right ventricular wall fi-brosis and pulmonary vascular remodeling(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01).Treatment with FXD also decreased the co-localized ex-pression of α-SMA with NLRP3,N-GSDMD and caspase-1 in small pulmonary arteries(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01),and down-regulated the protein expression of p-NF-κB,NLRP3,ASC,N-GSDMD,IL-1β,IL-18 and cleaved caspase-1 in lung tis-sues(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01),thereby attenuating the pyroptosis of PASMCs.CONCLUSION:FXD attenuates pulmonary vascular remodeling and right ventricular dysfunction in a mouse model of HPH.This effect may be attributed to its inhibi-tion of NF-κB/NLRP3 pathway,which subsequently reduces the pyroptosis of PASMCs.

Objective:To observe the effect of different degrees of decentration and tilt on the optical quality of the intraocular lenses (IOLs) with different focus designs.Methods:The UV 3300 PC UV-visible spectrophotometer was employed to measure the spectral transmittance of the monofocal IOL CT ASPHINA 509M (509M), bifocal IOL AT LISA 809M (809M), and trifocal IOL AT LISA Tri 839MP (839MP) within Zeiss MICS platform with a refractive power of + 20 D. The modulation transfer function (MTF) values at a spatial frequency of 50 lp/mm along with MTF curves and United States Air Force (USAF) resolution test charts for each IOL at the focal point were measured at apertures of 3.0 mm and 4.5 mm using the in vitro optical quality testing system OptiSpheric IOL R&D under centered, decentered (0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 0.9 and 1.1 mm) and tilted (3°, 5°, 7°, 9° and 11°) conditions. Results:All three IOLs filtrated the ultraviolet (UV) spectrum below 400 nm.When each IOL was in the centered position, at the 3.0 mm aperture, the MTF values were 0.772 at the far focus of the monofocal IOL 509M, 0.467 and 0.282 at the far and near focus of the bifocal IOL 809M, and 0.416, 0.147, and 0.229 at the far, intermediate, and near focus of the trifocal IOL 839MP, respectively.Whereas at the 4.5 mm aperture, the monofocal IOL 509M MTF value at the far focus was 0.664, the bifocal IOL 809M MTF values at the far and near focus were 0.506 and 0.264, and the trifocal IOL 839MP MTF values at the far, intermediate, and near focus were 0.392, 0.107, and 0.210, respectively.Among the three centered IOLs, the 509M demonstrated the highest MTF value at the far focus, followed by the 809M and then the 839MP; at the near focus, the MTF value of the 809M surpassed that of the 839MP.For decentration and tilt, the difference in MTF values of the three IOLs at the far and near focus was consistent with the differences observed when they were centered.At the same degree of decentration and tilt, all three IOLs exhibited superior optical quality at the 3.0 mm aperture compared to the 4.5 mm aperture.The optical quality of all three IOLs exhibited an overall decline as decentration and tilt increased.All three IOLs demonstrated a decrease in optical quality at the decentration of 0.3 mm or the tilt of 5°.Conclusions:The IOLs within the Zeiss MICS platform design exhibits identical spectral transmittance and UV filtering properties.Among the three IOLs, when centered, the 509M, the 839MP, and the 809M exhibit superior optical quality at the far, intermediate, and near focal points, respectively.Under decentered and tilted conditions, the 509M and the 809M demonstrate better resistance against decentration and tilt, respectively, at both far and near focuses.Additionally, all three IOLs demonstrate better optical quality at smaller apertures, given equivalent degrees of decentration or tilt.However, the optical quality at each focal point of the three IOLs decreases compared to the centered position when subjected to a decentration of 0.3 mm or a tilt of 5°.

Objective To understand the distribution and antimicrobial resistance profiles of bacterial strains isolated from blood cultures at Yunyang County People's Hospital from 2019 to 2023.Methods The data of bacterial isolates from blood samples and the results of antimicrobial susceptibility testing were analyzed retrospectively from 2019 to 2023 at Yunyang County People's Hospital.Results A total of 3 789 bacterial strains were isolated from blood culture,including 1 931(51.0％)strains of Gram negative bacteria and 1 858(49.0％)strains of Gram positive bacteria.Coagulase negative Staphylococcus(33.3％),Escherichia coli(25.4％),Klebsiella pneumoniae(13.7％),Staphylococcus aureus(9.9％),and Enterobacter cloacae(1.8％)were the top five bacterial pathogens.Antimicrobial susceptibility testing showed that the prevalence of methicillin-resistant strains was 27.1％in S.aureus,34.5％in S.epidermidis,and 49.9％in other coagulase-negative Staphylococcus.Methicillin resistant strains(MRSA,MRSE,and other MRCNS)showed significantly higher resistance rates to most antibiotics than corresponding methicillin-susceptible strains(MSSA,MSSE,and other MSCNS).No staphylococcal isolates were resistant to vancomycin,teicoplanin,linezolid,or tigecycline.Enterococcus faecium showed significantly higher resistance rate to antibiotics than Enterococcus faecalis.No enterococcal strains were resistant to vancomycin,teicoplanin,linezolid,or tigecycline.No streptococcal isolates were found resistant to vancomycin or linezolid.Serratia marcescens strains had a resistance rate of 25.0％to carbapenems.All other Enterobacterales species showed a resistance rate of less than 10.0％to carbapenems.No Enterobacterales isolates were found resistant to tigecycline.The resistance rates of P.aeruginosa to imipenem and meropenem were 5.7％and 3.8％,respectively.No P.aeruginosa isolates were found resistant to colistin.The resistance rates of Acinetobacter baumannii to imipenem and meropenem were 41.4％and 38.0％,respectively.Conclusions The proportion of Gram negative bacteria is slightly higher than that of Gram positive bacteria in the bacterial isolates from blood samples at Yunyang County People's Hospital.The prevalence of MRSA and MRCNS is relatively high,while A.baumannii and S.marcescens showed high resistance rates to carbapenems.Antimicrobial resistance surveillance should be strengthened for the bacterial isolates from blood samples in order to learn the changing resistance profiles,use antibiotics reasonably,and prevent the spread of drug-resistant bacteria.

Objective: To investigate the effect of aloperine (Alo) on the proliferation , migration and invasion of gastric cancer cells. Methods: Human gastric cancer cell lines HGC⁃27 and AGS were treated with 0 , 100 , and tion. Flow cytometry was used to detect apoptosis. Scratch and Transwell migration assays were used to detect cell migration. Transwell invasion assay was used to detect cell invasion. Western blot was used to detect the expression of proteins related to proliferation , apoptosis , migration , invasion and Hippo pathway. Results: Compared with the control group , the cell viability , number of colony formation , cell migration and invasion were significantly reduced after 100 and 200 μmol/L Alo treatment , and the apoptosis rate significantly increased (P < 0. 05) . Additionally , the expressions of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) , B -cell lymphoma/leukemia⁃2 protein (Bcl⁃2) , neural cadherin ( N⁃cadherin) , Vimentin , and transcriptional co⁃activator with PDZ⁃binding motif ( TAZ)were significantly reduced , whereas the expressions of Bcl⁃2 ⁃associated X protein (Bax) , phosphorylated yes⁃asso⁃ciated protein (p⁃YAP) , and large tumor suppressor 1/2 (LATS1/2) significantly increased (P < 0. 05) . Conclusion Alo inhibits the proliferation , migration and invasion of gastric cancer cells HGC⁃27 and AGS by regulating the Hippo signaling pathway.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Shuyao Huoxue Tongluo Decoction combined with meridian acupoint massage in treating lumbar disc herniation(LDH)patients with qi-stagnation and blood-stasis syndrome,and to analyze its effects on serological indicators.Methods A total of 120 LDH patients with qi-stagnation and blood-stasis syndrome admitted to Huizhou Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine from December 2023 to December 2024 were enrolled.The patients were randomly divided into control group and study group using a random number table,with 60 cases in each group.The control group received conventional treatment(including lumbar traction and drug therapy)combined with meridian acupoint massage,while the study group received additional Shuyao Huoxue Tongluo Decoction based on the treatment for the control group.Before and after treatment,the scores of traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)syndrome,Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)scores for pain,Japanese Orthopedic Association(JOA)scores for lumbar function,Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)scores,and serum levels of tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α)and interleukin 6(IL-6)in the two groups were compared.After treatment,the clinical efficacy was evaluated between groups.Results(1)After 20 days of treatment,the total effective rate was 95.00%(57/60)in the study group versus 81.67%(49/60)in the control group(tested by chi-square test,P＜0.05),demonstrating significantly superior therapeutic effects in the study group.(2)After treatment,both groups showed significant reduction in TCM syndrome scores(P＜0.01),and the study group exhibited markedly decrease compared to the control group(P＜0.01).(3)After treatment,the VAS scores for pain in both groups were significantly decreased compared to those before treatment(P＜0.01),and the study group exhibited obvious decrease of the scores than the control group(P＜0.01).(4)After treatment,JOA scores for lumbar function in both groups were increased(P＜0.05),while Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)scores were decreased(P＜0.05),compared to those before treatment,and the study group demonstrated more significant improvements in both JOA score elevation and ODI score reduction(P＜0.05).(5)For serum inflammatory factors,interleukin-6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)levels in both groups were significantly reduced(P＜0.05)after treatment,and the study group showed more pronounced decrease in both markers(P＜0.05).Conclusion Compared with meridian acupoint massage alone,the combined therapy of Shuyao Huoxue Tongluo Decoction and meridian acupoint massage is effective on significantly alleviating clinical symptoms,reducing serum inflammatory factors,and enhancing overall therapeutic outcomes in LDH patients with qi-stagnation and blood-stasis syndrome.

Clinically,the incidence of chronic musculoskeletal pain is relatively high,and it is one of the main causes of disability in Chinese residents,causing a heavy health and economic burden to the society.There are limited treatments available for patients who are ineffective to conservative treatment and whose disorders are inoperable.Recently,transcatheter embolization(TCE)has become a potential treatment method for such patients.Chronic musculoskeletal pain,such as knee osteoarthritis,adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder(frozen shoulder),tendinopathy,and neck/back muscle pain,can induce pathological neovascularization and inflammatory reactions.TCE of abnormal neovasculature can improve patient's pain and limb function.So far,there are relatively few studies on the TCE of chronic musculoskeletal pain in China,and there are no large-scale high-quality clinical studies abroad.This paper aims to make a comprehensive review about the TCE for chronic musculoskeletal pain,focusing on its basic principles,operative techniques,and latest clinical achievements.

This study analyzed the burden and trends in enteric infections in China from 1990 to 2021 from a One Health perspec-tive.Data on mortality associated with enteric infections were extracted from the 2021 Global Burden of Disease(GBD)database.The analysis focused on assessing the mortality rates of enteric infectious diseases attributed to various etiologies and risk factors,along with the age and sex distribution,from 1990 to 2021.Average annual percentage change(AAPC)was used to assess the total changes in disease burden.The age-standardized mortality rate of intestinal infections in China decreased from 9.642/100 000 in 1990 to 0.439/100 000 in 2021,with an AAPC of-57.103%(95%CI:-57.118%to-57.088%).In 2021,Rotavirus,Norovirus,and Crypto-sporidium were the top three etiologies contributing to disease burden,with mortality rates of 1.020/100 000,0.040/100 000 and 0.079/100 000,respectively.A significant variation in etiology distribution was observed across age groups:Rotavirus,Shigella,and Crypto-sporidium dominated among children under 5 years of age,whereas Cryptosporidium,Norovirus,and Clostridioides difficile were more prevalent in older populations.Risk factor analysis indicated that unsafe water sources and poor sanitation accounted for 73.394%of all enteric disease-related deaths.In conclusion,the burden of enteric infections in China markedly declined from 1990 to 2021,and sig-nificant variations in the etiological spectrum and disease burden were observed across age groups.The persistent effects of unsafe wa-ter sources and poor sanitation underscore the need for targeted interventions to further decrease the burden of these diseases.Our find-ings highlight the success of public health interventions in decreasing the burden of enteric infections in China,while emphasizing the need for targeted measures to address disparities in high-risk populations and improve environmental sanitation.
