Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiangtang was first recorded in the Treatise on Cold Damage (Shang Han Lun). This prescription is composed of Bupleuri Radix, Scutellariae Radix, Cinnamomi Ramulus, Zingiberis Rhizoma, Trichosanthis Radix, Ostreae Concha, and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma. It has the effects of soothing Lesser Yang, warming the spleen, and stimulating the generation of body fluid. It is mainly used to treat digestive tract diseases such as chronic cholecystitis (CC), irritable bowel syndrome, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Dyspepsia caused by CC presents a variety of gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal pain, poor appetite, postprandial fullness, aversion to greasy food, soft stool, and bitter mouth, being a type of biliary dyspepsia. In modern medicine, dyspepsia caused by CC is mainly managed by medical treatment and surgical treatment. Internal medicine mainly focuses on reducing inflammation, promoting the function of gallbladder, resolving stones, alleviating spasms, and relieving the pain for CC, demonstrating definite short-term efficacy but suffering from single effects, high recurrence rate, and poor compliance. Although surgical treatment can cure cholecystitis, it is accompanied by the increased incidence of adverse events such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and dyspepsia. Modern clinical studies have confirmed that Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiangtang can significantly alleviate the symptoms such as abdominal pain and dyspepsia of CC patients. Pharmacological studies have found that Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiangtang mainly contains active ingredients such as Bupleuri Radix saponins, baicalin, cinnamaldehyde, gingerol, Trichosanthis Radix polysaccharide, Ostreae Concha polysaccharide, and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma total flavonoids. Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiangtang can ameliorate the symptoms of dyspepsia caused by CC by inhibiting inflammatory responses, improving gallbladder contraction and gastrointestinal motility, regulating the bile acid-intestinal flora axis and the brain-gut axis, and modulating blood lipids through multiple targets. By reviewing the previous literature, this article summarizes the research progress in the treatment of dyspepsia caused by CC with Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiangtang and its main active ingredients as well as the pathogenesis of this disease and puts forward the shortcomings and improvement strategies for the current research. The review aims to provide a reference for the further research on Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiangtang in the treatment of dyspepsia caused by CC.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Medicine 2026;33(2):285-292
Objective To explore the number of peripheral blood regulatory T cells (Treg) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and its correlation with vascular calcification. Methods This was a single-center, cross-sectional, and observational study. Non-dialysis patients with CKD treated at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University from March 2021 to March 2022 were enrolled. Abdominal aortic calcification (AAC) was assessed using lateral abdominal X-ray. Number of Treg and cytokine levels were measured by flow cytometry. Logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate the related factors for AAC in CKD patients. Results A total of 83 patients were included, aged 17–86 years, with 57 males (68.7%). The distribution of CKD stages was as follows: stage G1 in 7 patients (8.4%), stage G2 in 17 patients (20.5%), stage G3 in 21 patients (25.3%), stage G4 in 19 patients (22.9%), and stage G5 in 19 patients (22.9%). No AAC was observed in patients with stages G1 and G2, while the prevalence of AAC in patients with stages G3, G4, and G5 was 23.8%, 21.1%, and 26.3%, respectively. Compared with stage G1 patients, those with stages G3–5 showed decreased number of peripheral blood Treg and elevated levels of interleukin (IL)-6 and IL-17F (P<0.05). The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve for number of peripheral blood Treg in predicting AAC in CKD patients was 0.766 (95%CI 0.652–0.879, P=0.002). Logistic regression analysis showed that decreased number of Treg was related factor for AAC in CKD patients (OR=0.957, 95%CI 0.922–0.992, P=0.018). Conclusion As CKD progresses, number of peripheral blood Treg significantly decreases, which is correlated with AAC in CKD patients.

OBJECTIVES:
This study aimed to explore the expression of lysosomal-associated membrane protein 5 (LAMP5) and microRNA (miR)-302a-3p in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and their functional mechanism on the invasion and metastasis of OSCC.
METHODS:
The expression of LAMP5 in OSCC and its sensitivity as a prognostic indicator were analyzed on the basis of The Cancer Genome Atlas database. Western blot, quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, and cell immunocytochemistry were used to detect the expression of LAMP5 in OSCC tissues and cells. The effect of LAMP5 on the proliferation, migration, and invasion of OSCC cells was evaluated through cell counting kit-8, immunocytochemistry, migration, and invasion assays, respectively. The miRNA targeting prediction websites were used to predict the miR that regulates LAMP5 and verify the targeted regulatory effect of miR-302a-3p on LAMP5. The effect of LAMP5 knockdown on OSCC tumor growth was evaluated in a nude mouse tumorigenesis model.
RESULTS:
LAMP5 was highly expressed in OSCC tissues and cells. It showed high sensitivity in the early diagnosis of OSCC. LAMP5 knockdown significantly inhibited the proliferation, migration, and invasion of OSCC cells, whereas LAMP5 overexpression increased these cell activities. The expression of LAMP5 was regulated by miR-302a-3p. In vivo, LAMP5 knockdown significantly inhibited the growth of OSCC tumor.
CONCLUSIONS
LAMP5 promotes the malignant progression of OSCC by enhancing the proliferation, migration, and invasion of OSCC cells. The expression of LAMP5 is negatively regulated by miR-302a-3p.

Chinese Journal of Aerospace Medicine 2025;36(3):194-199
Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics and aeromedical assessment conclusions of bronchial asthma in military pilots. Methods:The clinical data of 24 military pilots was retrospectively analyzed who were diagnosed with bronchial asthma and hospitalized at the Air Force Medical Center between January 2010 and March 2024. These pilots were divided into a qualified group and a grounded group based on aeromedical assessment conclusions. The basic information, clinical data, diagnosis and treatment, and aeromedical assessment conclusions were compared between the 2 groups. Results:There were 11 military pilots in the qualified group and 13 in the grounded group. No statistically significant differences were observed between the 2 groups in terms of age at initial asthma diagnosis, body mass index, flying hours, aircraft types, smoking status, or family history of bronchial asthma (all P>0.05). The time intervals between the symptom onset, initial diagnosis and treatment and ground observation were shorter in the qualified group than in the grounded group, with statistically significant differences ( Z=-1.77, -2.73, P=0.047, 0.006). No statistically significant differences were found between the 2 groups in terms of cough variant asthma, concurrent allergic rhinitis, eosinophil count and percentage, and abnormal pulmonary function (all P>0.05). The proportion of military pilots with identified allergens was significantly higher in the grounded group than in the qualified group ( P=0.005). In the qualified group, one fighter pilot was aeromedically assessed as being restricted to dual-seat fighter aircraft. After 3 months of ground observation without disease recurrence, the dual-seat restriction was lifted. The other 2 fighter pilots were qualified for downgraded aircraft types (from fighters to bombers, transporters, or helicopters). Eight non-fighter pilots were aeromedically concluded as eligible for flight. After [43.0(15.8, 66.3)] months of treatment and ground observation, the 13 military pilots in the grounded group were found to be under poor symptom control with recurrent episodes before being grounded. Conclusions:Bronchial asthma in military pilots is closely related to allergic rhinitis, with early clinical symptoms often being atypical and prone to delayed diagnosis and treatment. Patients with bronchial asthma should receive individualized treatment based on their condition. Both the US military and the Chinese military stipulate that pilots with bronchial asthma be ineligible for flight. However, for cases with mild illness, no sudden acute severe attacks, symptom resolution after treatment, normal pulmonary function, and in stable condition after 3-6 months of ground observation, an aeromedical assessment can be conducted based on the aircraft types and flight duties.

Objective:To investigate factors influencing frequent episodes (≥ 4 episodes within 1 year) in children with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (AD) in China. Methods:A national multicenter cross-sectional study was conducted. Patients under the age of 18 years diagnosed with moderate-to-severe AD were enrolled at dermatology clinics in 18 medical institutions across 12 provinces and municipalities in China between June 12 and August 8, 2023. At the time of the visit, their guardians completed a structured questionnaire covering demographic characteristics, clinical features of AD, personal and family history, factors associated with frequent episodes of moderate-to-severe AD, compliance with treatment, and disease awareness. Statistical analyses included t tests, one-way analysis of variance, rank-sum tests, and chi-square tests, with multiple-response analysis applied for multiple-choice questions. Results:A total of 965 valid questionnaires were collected, and 965 children with moderate-to-severe AD were included. Among them, there were 531 males and 434 females, 678 (70.3%) were aged 2 - < 12 years, 837 (86.7%) were from urban areas, the age at onset was 2.47 ± 3.03 years, and the median frequency of AD episodes in the past year was 4 times. These children were divided into 2 groups based on the median episode frequency: < 4-episode group (439 cases, 45.5%) and ≥ 4-episode group (526 cases, 54.5%). Compared with the < 4-episode group, children in the ≥ 4-episode group showed younger ages at onset (2.22 ± 2.98 years vs. 2.76 ± 3.06 years, P = 0.006) and higher proportions of patients with comorbid allergic diseases in both the children themselves (82.9% [436/526] vs. 69.7% [306/439], χ2 = 23.42, P < 0.001) and their relatives (66.0% [347/526] vs. 57.4% [252/439], χ2 = 7.46, P = 0.006). Children in the ≥ 4- episode group also had higher monthly usage of moisturizers (150 [30, 300] g vs. 60 [6, 200] g) and daily frequency of moisturizer use, greater disease awareness, but more severe fear of medication use (all P < 0.05). The region and the human development index level were both significantly associated with the episode frequency (both P < 0.001), with the highest proportion of children from South China in the ≥ 4- episode group (36.3%, 191/526). Children in the ≥ 4-episode group also had a longer duration of topical glucocorticoid use than those in the < 4-episode group ( Z = -2.21, P = 0.027). External triggers associated with AD episodes mainly included heat exposure (50.36%, 486/965), hot water bathing (40.73%, 393/965), seafood (23.52%, 227/965), and dust mites (33.37%, 322/965) . Conclusion:In children with moderate-to-severe AD in China, factors influencing frequent episodes may include residence in southern or economically developed regions, earlier age at onset, having a personal or family history of allergic diseases, and fear of medication use.

Objective:To investigate the co-occurrence patterns of psychosocial and behavioral problems among children and to identify associated influencing factors. Methods:A multicenter cross-sectional survey was conducted in 2023. A cluster random sample of 19 176 children aged 6-16 years was recruited from middle-income areas across 10 provincial capitals and municipalities in China. Psychological and behavioral problems, including anxiety, compulsive behavior, social withdrawal, depression, somatic complaints, social problems, schizoid, delinquent behaviors, hyperactivity, sexual issues, and aggression, were assessed using the Achenbach Child Behavior Checklist parent version. Co-occurrence was defined as ≥2 concurrent problems. Children were divided into 4 groups by gender and age: boys aged 6-11 years, girls aged 6-11 years, boys aged 12-16 years, and girls aged 12-16 years. Those children who had psychosocial and behavioral problems were further categorized into the single-problem group, and the co-occurrence group based on assessment results. High-frequency co-occurrence phenotypes of children′s psychosocial and behavioral problems were identified. Demographic factors, such as parental employment, education, as well as psychosocial factors like parent-child relationship, screen time and outdoor activity, were investigated. χ 2 test was used to analyze differences between groups. Multivariate Logistic regression modeling was conducted to identify potential factors. Results:Among 14 711 children (7 501 boys, 7 210 girls) who provided effective questionnaires, the detection rates of single problem in the boys aged 6-11 years, girls aged 6-11 years, boys aged 12-16 years, and girls aged 12-16 years groups were 4.9% (171/3 461), 6.2% (193/3 120), 3.9% (158/4 040), and 5.1% (208/4 090), respectively; the detection rates of co-occurrence were 7.6% (262/3 461), 7.7% (241/3 120), 4.9% (199/4 040), and 5.7% (234/4 090), respectively. The overall detection rates of co-occurrence was higher than that of single problem ( χ2=25.47, P<0.001). Among children with co-occurrence, there were varied manifestations: in the boys aged 6-11 years group, the detection rates of social withdrawal (69.8% (183/262)), schizoid-like behavior (68.3% (179/262)), and compulsive behavior (67.6% (177/262)) were relatively high; in the girls aged 6-11 years group, the detection rates of schizoid-compulsive behavior (69.3% (167/241)), delinquent behavior (65.6% (158/241)), and hyperactivity (58.9% (142/241)) were relatively high; in the boys aged 12-16 years group, the detection rates of hyperactivity (78.9% (157/199)), compulsive behavior (67.3% (134/199)), and immature behavior (57.3% (114/199)) were relatively high; in the girls aged 12-16 years group, the detection rates of schizoid-like behavior (89.7% (210/234)), immature behavior (59.0% (138/234)), and cruelty (57.7% (135/234)) were relatively high. Maternal bachelor′s degree or higher ( OR=0.78, 95% CI 0.61-0.99, P=0.038) served as co-occurrence protective factors, whereas having 1 or more siblings, increased parent-child conflict and decreased parent-child interaction time ( OR=1.24, 1.41, 1.36; 95% CI 1.02-1.52, 1.15-1.73, 1.02-1.82, all P<0.05) were co-occurrence risk factors. Conclusions:Children exhibit strong co-occurrence tendencies in psychosocial and behavioral problems. Compulsive and schizoid traits are the predominant co-occurring phenotypes for childhood and girls respectively. ?Familial environment plays a critical role, necessitating ?multidimensional clinical assessments and ?family-centered interventions.

Objective:To investigate the diagnostic value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)in solid pseudopapillary tumor of pancreas(SPTP),summarize the CEUS characteristics of SPTP,and to compare its CEUS enhancement with contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CECT).Methods:In this retrospective study, baseline characteristics, basic ultrasound and CEUS images,CECT images of 70 patients diagnosed as SPTP from January 2009 to August 2023 were collected. Images were analyzed for extraction of key features and diagnostic accuracies of both CEUS and CECT were calculated. The relationships between ultrasound features and lesion size of SPTP were analyzed by Point-Biserial correlation analysis and Student t test. The diagnostic accuracy was compared by Mann-Whitney U test. Results:Iso-enhancement(55.7%,39/70)was commonly appeared in the early phase of CEUS for SPTP,while hypo-enhancement(74.3%,52/70)was the most common in the late phase. And the most common enhancement pattern was iso-hypo enhancement(41.4%,29/70). Lesion membrane enhancement(47.1%,33/70),intralesional compartmentalization(28.6%,20/70),and intralesional vessels(25.7%,18/70)were the 3 typical signs found in CEUS for SPTP,which were correlated with lesion size( P<0.001). Differences were found between the enhancement pattern of SPTP in CEUS and CECT,in which the most common enhancement patterns were hypo-hypo enhancement(41.4%,24/58)and iso-iso enhancement(29.3%,17/58)along with progressive enhancement. The diagnostic accuracies of CEUS and CECT were 71.4% and 74.1% respectively without statistically significant difference( P=0.733). Conclusions:CEUS shows high application value in the diagnosis of SPTP,and the accuracy of CEUS is comparable to that of CECT.

Objective:To analyze the echocardiographic and genetic characteristics of fetuses with common arterial trunk(CAT).Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 77 480 fetal echocardiograms examined at the Maternal-Fetal Medicine center in Fetal Heart Disease of Beijing Anzhen Hospital from November 2010 to November 2024.Among them,106 fetuses were initially diagnosed with CAT,and 95 cases were ultimately confirmed(0.1%,95/77 480). The echocardiographic and genetic features of CAT fetuses were analyzed. According to the modified Van Praagh classification,CAT was divided into types A1-A4[with ventricular septal defect(VSD)]and B1-B4(without VSD)based on the origin of the pulmonary artery branches and the presence or absence of a VSD. Additionally,CAT was categorized into isolated and complex types based on the presence of associated intracardiac or extracardiac anomalies.Results:① Among the 95 confirmed CAT fetuses, type A accounted for 90.5%(86/95),and type B accounted for 9.5%(9/95). All 9 type B CAT fetuses exhibited no overriding of the arterial trunk , with 8 cases showing left ventricular hypoplasia accompanied by mitral atresia or absence.② Of the 95 CAT fetuses,14 were isolated(14.7%,14/95) , and 81 were complex(85.3%,81/95).The main associated intracardiac anomalies included:single ventricle(22 cases),complete atrioventricular septal defect(12 cases),anomalous pulmonary venous drainage(10 cases),right aortic arch with mirror-image branching(16 cases),and persistent left superior vena cava(14 cases). ③ Genetic testing was performed in 31 fetuses, with 18 showing positive results, primarily 22q11.21 deletion syndrome(29.0%,9/31). Conclusions:Apart from VSD,the most common intracardiac anomaly associated with CAT fetuses is single ventricle. Type B CAT without trunk overriding is often associated with left ventricular hypoplasia and mitral atresia or absence. The most frequent genetic abnormality in CAT fetuses is 22q11.21 deletion syndrome. Prenatal echocardiography should clarify the CAT subtype and associated anomalies, and genetic testing is strongly recommended for perinatal counseling and prognostic evaluation.
