Objective: To analyze the surveillance data of schistosomiasis and snail status in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province from 2001 to 2024, so as to provide the reference for prevention and control of schistosomiasis in jiaxing City. Methods: Data on schistosomiasis and snail surveillance in Jiaxing City from 2001 to 2024 were collected through schistosomiasis control work reports and the Zhejiang Provincial Schistosomiasis (Parasitic Diseases) Control Information Management System. These data included serological testing results, stool etiological examination (stool examination) results, area surveyed for snails, snail-infested areas, number of snail-positive frames, and number of live snails. Indicators, including the positive rate of serological testing, the positive rate of stool examinations, the rate of snail-positive frames, and the density of live snails were analyzed. The Prophet time series model was employed to forecast the schistosomiasis epidemic in Jiaxing City from 2025 to 2029. Results: A total of 636 493 serological testing were conducted in Jiaxing City from 2001 to 2024, with a positive rate of 1.532%, showing a decreasing trend (P<0.05). Among 7 582 stool examinations, positive cases were all imported, resulting in a positivity rate of 0.066%. During the same period, snail surveys covered a cumulative area of 30 545.999 hm2, with snail-infested areas totaling 69.355 hm2; no significant trend was observed (P>0.05). All snail habitats were identified as recurrent foci within hydrographic network regions, primarily distributed across Xiuzhou District, Nanhu District, Pinghu City, Jiashan County, and Tongxiang City, with snail-infested areas of 39.588, 12.538, 10.728, 4.315, and 2.186 hm2, respectively. From 2009 to 2024, a total of 35 692 134 frames of snails were surveyed, of which 16 543 were snail-positive, yielding a snail-positive frame rate of 0.046%. A total of 33 175 live snails were collected, with a mean density of 0.000 98 snails per frame. No infected Oncomelania snails were detected. The projection results indicated that from 2025 to 2029, the positive rate of serological testing rate in Jiaxing City would range between 0.253% to 0.389%, the snail-infested areas would range from 0.025 to 1.818 hm2, and the density of live snails would vary from 0.001 56 to 0.001 66 snails per frame. None of these indicators showed a significant trend (all P>0.05). Conclusions From 2001 to 2024, the positive rate of serological testing rate of schistosomiasis in Jiaxing City showed a declining trend, with no new autochthonous cases or infected Oncomelania snails detected. However, imported cases were still reported. All identified snail habitats were recurrent foci within hydrographic network regions. It is recommended to enhance schistosomiasis and snail status surveillance in high-risk areas.

Objective: To construct an evaluation index system of oral health literacy for children's parents, so as to provide an index system for the evaluation of oral health literacy for children's parents in China. Methods: The evaluation index system of oral health literacy for children's parents was designed based on literature review and semi-structured interview. Experts from oral prevention and pediatric oral medicine were invited to participate in two-round Delphi consultations. The indicators were scored and screened according to the importance, and the weight determined using analytic hierarchy process. The effectiveness of the consultation was evaluated by positive coefficient, authority coefficient and coordination coefficient. Results: Twenty-four experts participated in the consultation, including 6 males and 18 females. There were 21 experts with a master degree, 3 experts with a doctor degree, and 20 experts with vice senior professional titles and above. The recovery rates of the two rounds of consultations were 96.00% and 100.00%, the authority coefficients were 0.866 and 0.917, the Kendall's coefficient of concordance were 0.120 and 0.156 (both P<0.05), and the coefficient of variation was 0.15-0.38 and 0.03-0.17, respectively. The final evaluation index system included 3 primary indicators, 11 secondary indicators and 40 tertiary indicators. The primary indicators were basic knowledge and concepts related to oral health, promoting lifestyle and behaviors related to oral health, and maintaining basic skills related to oral health. Conclusion The evaluation index system of oral health literacy for children's parents has been established in this study and needs to be further applied and evaluated.

Scavenger receptor class B, member 2 (SCARB2) is linked to Gaucher disease and Parkinson's disease. Deficiency in the SCARB2 gene causes progressive myoclonus epilepsy (PME), a rare group of inherited neurodegenerative diseases characterized by myoclonus. We found that Scarb2 deficiency in mice leads to age-dependent dietary lipid malabsorption, accompanied with vitamin E deficiency. Our investigation revealed that Scarb2 deficiency is associated with gut dysbiosis and an altered bile acid pool, leading to hyperactivation of FXR in intestine. Hyperactivation of FXR impairs epithelium renewal and lipid absorption. Patients with SCARB2 mutations have a severe reduction in their vitamin E levels and cannot absorb dietary vitamin E. Finally, inhibiting FXR or supplementing vitamin E ameliorates the neuromotor impairment and neuropathy in Scarb2 knockout mice. These data indicate that gastrointestinal dysfunction is associated with SCARB2 deficiency-related neurodegeneration, and SCARB2-associated neurodegeneration can be improved by addressing the nutrition deficits and gastrointestinal issues.

Objective Computational fluid dynamics software combined with finite element method was used to conduct 2D numerical simulation of pancreaticobiliary junction, and analyze the influence of biliopancreatic ampullary diaphragm, opening direction and shape of duodenal papilla on occult pancreaticobiliary reflux(OPBR). Methods The data of anatomical structure of pancreaticobiliary junction were obtained from online information. Pancreaticobiliary junction was reconstructed in 2D by computational fluid dynamics Fluent 2020R2 software. Different models were drawn for the pancreaticobiliary junction according to the following parameters: biliopancreatic ampullary diaphragm (with/without), opening direction of duodenal papilla(biased to the side of bile duct/central/biased to the side of pancreatic duct). A total of 6 models were used to analyze the risk factors for OPBR. Results When the anatomical structure of the biliopancreatic duct confluence was normal, that was, the ampullary diaphragm exists, no matter how the shape of the duodenal papilla and the opening direction changed, there was no pancreaticobiliary reflux. When the common channel was >5 mm due to the absence of the ampullary diaphragm and duodenal papilla was biased to the side of bile duct, a small amount of pancreatic juice refluxed into the lower end of the bile duct. When the common channel was >5 mm due to the absence of the ampullary diaphragm and duodenal papilla open position was in the middle of the biliopancreatic duct, the velocity and flow rate of pancreatic juice entering bile duct increased, and the degree of reflux was maintained at the lower end of the bile duct. When the common channel was >5 mm due to the absence of the ampullary diaphragm and the duodenal papilla was biased to the side of pancreatic duct, the degree of pancreaticobiliary reflux was more serious, and pancreatic juice reflux was observed throughout the entire bile duct. On the basis of this reflux model, the length of common channel of biliopancreatic duct was shortened, and the opening of outflow tract was enlarged, and the phenomenon of pancreaticobiliary reflux disappeared. Conclusions Based on the Fluent study, it is found that anatomical structures such as ampullary diaphragm and duodenal papilla were closely related to the occurrence of OPBR. Pancreaticobiliary reflux can be terminated by shortening the common channel length of pancreaticobiliary junction and expanding the opening of outflow tract.

Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological characteristics of plurihormonal PIT1-lineage pituitary neuroendocrine tumors. Methods: Forty-eight plurihormonal PIT1-lineage tumors were collected between January 2018 and April 2022 from the pathological database of Sanbo Brain Hospital, Capital Medical University. The related clinical and imaging data were retrieved. H&E, immunohistochemical and special stains were performed. Results: Out of the 48 plurihormonal PIT1-lineage tumors included, 13 cases were mature PIT1-lineage tumors and 35 cases were immature PIT1-lineage tumors. There were some obvious clinicopathological differences between the two groups. Clinically, the mature plurihormonal PIT1-lineage tumor mostly had endocrine symptoms due to increased hormone production, while a small number of immature PIT1-lineage tumors had endocrine symptoms accompanied by low-level increased serum pituitary hormone; patients with the immature PIT1-lineage tumors were younger than the mature PIT1-lineage tumors; the immature PIT1-lineage tumors were larger in size and more likely invasive in imaging. Histopathologically, the mature PIT1-lineage tumors were composed of large eosinophilic cells with high proportion of growth hormone expression, while the immature PIT1-lineage tumors consisted of chromophobe cells with a relatively higher expression of prolactin; the mature PIT1-lineage tumors had consistently diffuse cytoplasmic positive staining for keratin, while the immature PIT1-lineage tumors had various expression for keratin; the immature PIT1-lineage tumors showed more mitotic figures and higher Ki-67 proliferation index; in addition, 25.0% (12/48) of PIT1-positive plurihormonal tumors showed abnormal positive staining for gonadotropin hormones. There was no significant difference in the progression-free survival between the two groups (P=0.648) by Kaplan-Meier analysis. Conclusions: Plurihormonal PIT1-lineage tumor belongs to a rare type of PIT1-lineage pituitary neuroendocrine tumors, most of which are of immature lineage. Clinically increased symptoms owing to pituitary hormone secretion, histopathologically increased number of eosinophilic tumor cells with high proportion of growth hormone expression, diffusely cytoplasmic keratin staining and low proliferative activity can help differentiate the mature plurihormonal PIT1-lineage tumors from the immature PIT1-lineage tumors. The immature PIT1-lineage tumors have more complicated clinicopathological characteristics.

Objective : To identify the main components in the extracts of different parts of Juandan Baihe (Lilium lancifolium) by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF-MS) technology and investigate their hypoglycemic activities. Methods: The MS fragmentation pathways of the main types of compounds in Juandan Baihe (Lilium lancifolium) were studied, and the main components in the extracts were systematically identified using MS fragmentation pathways combined with MS mining technology. Based on the hyperglycemia male mouse model [specific pathogen free (SPF)-grade Kunming mice] induced by streptozotocin (intragastric administration of 80 mg/kg for 3 d), the hypoglycemic effects of extracts of Juandan Baihe (Lilium lancifolium) roots, stems, corms, leaves, and flowers were evaluated by measuring the changes of blood glucose, daily water consumption, daily food intake, and body weight. Result: The MS fragmentation pathways of regalosides, dioscins, phenylpropanoids, flavonoids, and chlorogenic acids in Juandan Baihe (Lilium lancifolium) were clarified, and a mining method for compounds in this plant was constructed. A total of 58 compounds, including 6 chlorogenic acids, 14 regalosides, 13 phenylpropanoids, 5 flavonoids, and 20 dioscins, were identified from the roots, stems, corms, leaves, and flowers of Juandan Baihe (Lilium lancifolium). Among them, 30 compounds were reported for the first time from this plant. The root and corm extracts demonstrated significant hypoglycemic activities by reducing blood glucose levels from 23.76 ± 1.21 and 24.29 ± 1.35 mmol/L to 17.21 ± 1.23 and 18.78 ± 1.49 mmol/L, respectively (P < 0.05). The roots and corms extracts could also attenuate the symptoms of polydipsia (P < 0.01), polyphagia (P < 0.05), and weight loss caused by diabetes. Conclusion This study clarifies that the roots of Juandan Baihe (Lilium lancifolium) are rich in regalosides and dioscins for the first time, and have significant hypoglycemic activities, providing the foundation for the comprehensive utilization of this plant and the development of hypoglycemic drugs.

Objective: To comprehensively assess the current status of extrauterine growth restriction (EUGR) in very preterm infants (VPI) and its associated factors in Chinese neonatal intensive care units (NICU). Methods: In this cohort study, 6 179 preterm infants born at <32 weeks' gestation were included, who were admitted to 57 hospitals in the China Neonatal Network in 2019 and hospitalized for ≥7 days. EUGR was evaluated by a cross-sectional definition (weight at discharge<10^th percentile for postmenstrual age), a longitudinal definition (decline in weight Z score>1 from birth to discharge), and weight growth velocity. The comparison between infants with and without EUGR was conducted by t-test, Mann-Whitney U test or χ² test as appropriate. Multivariable Logistic regression models were used to evaluate associations between EUGR with different definitions and maternal and neonatal factors, clinical practices, and neonatal morbidities. Results: A total of 6 179 VPI were enrolled in the study, with a gestational age of (29.8±1.5) weeks and birth weight of (1 365±304) g; 56.2% (3 474) of them were male. Among them, 48.4% (2 992 VPI) were cross-sectional EUGR and 74.9% (4 628 VPI) were longitudinal EUGR. Z score of weight was (0.13±0.78) at birth and decrease to (-1.35±0.99) at discharge. The weight growth velocity was 10.13 (8.42, 11.66) g/(kg·d). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that among the influential factors that could be intervened after birth, late attainment of full enteral feeds (OR_adjust=1.01, 95%CI 1.01-1.02, P<0.001; OR_adjust=1.01, 95%CI 1.01-1.02, P<0.001), necrotizing enterocolitis≥Ⅱstage (OR_adjust=2.64, 95%CI 1.60-4.35, P<0.001; OR_adjust=1.62, 95%CI 1.10-2.40, P<0.001) and patent ductus arteriosus (OR_adjust=1.94, 95%CI 1.50-2.51, P<0.001; OR_adjust=1.63, 95%CI 1.29-2.06, P<0.001) were all associated with increased risks of both cross-sectional and longitudinal EUGR. In addition, late initiation of enteral feeds (OR_adjust=1.06, 95%CI 1.02-1.09, P=0.020) and respiratory distress syndrome (OR_adjust=1.45, 95%CI 1.24-1.69, P<0.001) were all associated with cross-sectional EUGR. Breast milk feeding (OR_adjust=1.33, 95%CI 1.05-1.68, P<0.001) was associated with a higher risk of longitudinal EUGR. Conclusions: The incidence of EUGR in VPI in China is high. Some modifiable risk factors provide priorities to improve postnatal growth for VPI. Nutritional management of VPI and the efforts to decrease the incidence of complications are still the focus of clinical management in China.

AIM: To evaluate the bioequivalence of cinacalcet hydrochloride tablets in healthy Chinese volunteers. METHODS: A randomized, open, double-period and crossover trial was conducted, 48 healthy volunteers were administered a single dose of cinacalcet test tablets or reference tablets orally under each fasting and fed condition. Predatory hunting is an important type of innate behavior evolutionarily conserved across the animal kingdom. It is typically composed of a set of sequential actions, including prey search, pursuit, attack, and consumption. This behavior is subject to control by the nervous system. Early studies used toads as a model to probe the neuroethology of hunting, which led to the proposal of a sensory-triggered release mechanism for hunting actions. More recent studies have used genetically-trackable zebrafish and rodents and have made breakthrough discoveries in the neuroethology and neurocircuits underlying this behavior. Here, we review the sophisticated neurocircuitry involved in hunting and summarize the detailed mechanism for the circuitry to encode various aspects of hunting neuroethology, including sensory processing, sensorimotor transformation, motivation, and sequential encoding of hunting actions. We also discuss the overlapping brain circuits for hunting and feeding and point out the limitations of current studies. We propose that hunting is an ideal behavioral paradigm in which to study the neuroethology of motivated behaviors, which may shed new light on epidemic disorders, including binge-eating, obesity, and obsessive-compulsive disorders.

Objective: To investigate the willingness to receive measles-containing vaccine (MCV) and its influencing factors among healthcare workers in the Yangtze River Delta region, so as to provide the evidence for improving the measles-containing vaccination rate Methods: Healthcare workers were sampled from 19 medical institutions in each of Shanghai Municipality, Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province and Anhui Province for questionnaire surveys using a multi-stage stratified convenience sampling methods from July 2020 to March 2021. Participants' gender, age, educational level, professional title, measles-containing vaccination, awareness of MCV and willingness to receive MCV were collected, and the factors affecting the willingness to receive MCV were identified among healthcare workers using a multivariable logistic regression model. Results: Totally 1 403 questionnaires were allocated, and 1 394 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 99.36%. The respondents included 327 men and 1 067 women, with a male to female ratio of 1∶3.26, and 64.35% (897) were at ages of 31 to 50 years. There were 1 005 respondents with a bachelor degree (72.09%), 765 with middle and senior professional titles (54.88%), 676 with a history of measles-containing vaccination (48.49%), 1 176 with willingness to receive MCV (84.36%) and 218 without willingness to receive MCV due to convenience of vaccination (30.73%) and cost (19.27%). Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that region (Zhejiang, OR=1.613, 95%CI: 1.054-2.470; Anhui, OR=2.058, 95%CI: 1.259-3.363), and no history of measles (OR=2.219, 95%CI: 1.302-3.781) were factors improving the willingness to receive MCV among healthcare workers, and hospital level (secondary, OR=0.483, 95%CI: 0.306-0.763; tertiary, OR=0.251, 95%CI: 0.160-0.394), history of measles-containing vaccination (no, OR=0.262, 95%CI: 0.172-0.399; unknown, OR=0.386, 95%CI: 0.266-0.559), and unawareness of MCV knowledge (OR=0.208, 95%CI: 0.081-0.536) were factors inhibiting the willingness to receive MCV among healthcare workers. Conclusions The willingness to receive MCV correlates with region, history of measles, hospital level, history of measles-containing vaccination and awareness of MCV knowledge among healthcare workers in the Yangtze River Delta region.
