Objective To explore potential categories of post-stroke depression in acute-phase stroke patients and its correlation with the degree of neurological deficits, and to provide references for healthcare professionals in developing targeted interventions. Methods Using convenience sampling, patients with acute stroke who were hospitalized in neurological ward of 2 tertiary general hospitals in Henan Province from January to April 2024 were selected as the survey participants. The investigation was conducted using the General Information Questionnaire, the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale, and the Patient Health Questionnaire-9.The correlation between potential categories of post-stroke depression and the degree of neurological deficit was analysed using unordered multiclassified logistic regression. Results Post-stroke depression score was 10.22±3.61 in 193 acute-phase stroke patients, and post-stroke depression could be categorized into 3 potential categories, namely"low depressive symptoms"(44.6%),"melancholic depression"(15.0%),and"atypical depression"(40.4%).There was a significant difference in the degree of neurological deficits(H=38.074,P<0.001).Compared with severe neurological deficits, patients with mild deficits were more likely to be categorized as"melancholic depression"(OR=0.016,P=0.001)and"atypical depression"(OR=0.040,P<0.001),and patients with moderate deficits were more likely to be classified as"atypical depression"(OR=0.085,P=0.001).Conclusion Post-stroke depression in acute-phase stroke patients has obvious categorization characteristics, and it is recommended that healthcare professionals should pay more attention to patients with different degrees of neurological deficits and adopt targeted interventions according to the different categories of post-stroke depression in order to alleviate their depressive symptoms.

Emotional blunting leads to significant declines in cognitive function and activities of daily living in patients with Parkinson's disease, thereby impacting their quality of life and increasing the caregiver burden. Emotional blunting is a progressive condition, and early detection and intervention can slow its progression, making it necessary to assess emotional blunting in patients early. Currently, there are various tools for assessing emotional blunting, but there is a lack of evidence to guide tool selection. This review discusses the impact of emotional blunting on patients with Parkinson's disease and reviews existing assessment tools for emotional blunting, including their content, applications, advantages, and limitations. It also summarizes issues in the application of these tools and offers future directions, aiming to provide a basis for the identification and assessment of emotional blunting in Parkinson's disease patients.

We report the clinical course from birth to adolescence of a patient carrying a compound heterozygous variation in the ectonucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase family member 1(ENPP1) gene. The patient was diagnosed with generalized arterial calcification of infancy shortly after birth, and subsequently with autosomal recessive hypophosphatemic rickets type 2 at the age of 11 years. Following effective blood pressure control, treatment with neutral phosphate, calcitriol, and vitamin D was initiated. During follow-up, no progression of vascular calcification was observed. Through this case report and a review of relevant literature, we aim to enhance clinicians′ understanding of this rare condition.

Objective To analyze and discuss the current research status, hotspots, frontiers, and progress in work practice of family pharmacists both in domestic and abroad by Citespace. Methods The database of Web of Science Core Collection and CNKI were selected for data extraction. They searched for literature from the database from establishment to April 1,2023 using the topic words"family pharmacist"and"home pharmaceutical care"both in Chinese and English. The network diagrams of essential nodes such as authors, countries, institutions, and key words were analyzed and drawn Results A total of 439 Chinese and 572 English literatures were included in the study.Scholars such as Mei Shen,Shihui Bao,Zhongzhuang Wang,Hughes Carmel M,Jamieson Hamish A,and Chen Timothy F have significantly contributed. The UK and the United States were leading countries in family pharmacists. Most of China's top ten research institutions were from Shanghai,Beijing. The top five Chinese literature keywords were pharmaceutical care, community, pharmacist, rational drug use, family pharmacist. The top five English literature keywords were pharmaceutical care, care, management, older people, and impact. Conclusions According to keyword clustering and burst analysis, research hotspots in foreign countries mainly focus on pharmaceutical services, adverse drug reactions, adherence, etc.,which is consistent with the development direction of pharmaceutical services in China. However, domestic pharmacy's development and literature publication are slightly behind those of foreign countries, and there is still some development space for pharmaceutical services in China.

Chinese Journal of Urology 2024;45(9):676-680
Objective:To evaluate the safety and efficacy of transtobturator urethral sling operation in the treatment of male stress urinary incontinence. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 13 male patients with stress urinary incontinence who underwent transvaginal sling procedure at Peking University People's Hospital from June 2011 to July 2024. The patients' average age was (71.6±5.4) years. Among them, 9 patients had undergone radical prostatectomy, and 4 had undergone transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP). Of the 13 patients, 7 had moderate urinary incontinence, and 6 had severe urinary incontinence. The median daily number of urine pads used by the 13 patients before surgery was 5 (3, 8), and the median score of the Incontinence Quality of Life Questionnaire (I-QOL) was 16 (12, 28). The median score of the Male Stress Urinary Incontinence Grading Scale (MSIGS) was 2 (2, 3). All the 13 patients underwent transvaginal sling procedure. The patients were placed in the lithotomy position, and the urethral bulb was dissected anatomically beneath the scrotum. The sling was guided by a needle and pulled out through the obturator foramen, and placed over the urethral bulb. The sling was tightened and the tension adjusted to fully suspend the urethra. A urinary catheter was left in place for 1-7 days after surgery. The patients' postoperative daily use of urine pads, scores of the I-QOL and MSIGS, and postoperative complications were followed up.Results:Postoperative follow-up ranged from 2 to 139 months, with a median follow-up time of 12 months. Of the 13 patients, 2 were cured, 9 had improved and 2 had no significant improvement. The number of diapers used per day by patients postoperatively was 1 (1, 4) pieces, the I-QOL score was 75 (46, 82), and the MSIGS score was 1 (0, 2), which were all significantly improved compared to preoperative values ( P<0.01). Among the 6 severe stress urinary incontinence patients who were followed up, the number of diapers used per day was significantly reduced compared to preoperative values[ 2(1, 5) vs. 8(7, 8) pieces], and the I-QOL score was significantly improved [ 60(35, 70) vs. 12(10, 16) ], while the MSIGS score was significantly lower [ 2(1, 3) vs. 3(2, 4) ]. Among the 7 moderate stress urinary incontinence patients, the number of diapers used per day was significantly reduced compared to preoperative values [1 (0, 1) vs. 4 (4, 5) pieces], and the I-QOL score was significantly improved [ 80(75, 82) vs. 21(18, 30) ], while the MSIGS score was significantly lower [ 0 (0, 1) vs. 2 (2, 3) ]. The symptoms of 1 patient were not significantly improved after the surgery, and were improved after Virtue sling suspension 3 years later. Conclusions:The use of transtobturator urethral sling operation for the treatment of moderate to severe male stress urinary incontinence has shown clear efficacy, with a low incidence of postoperative complications.
