1.Establishment of the International Academy of Perinatal Medicine: a milestone in the early development of perinatal medicine
Chinese Journal of Perinatal Medicine 2025;28(11):1004-1008,F3
Since the 1960s, under the leadership of pioneers including Erich Saling, perinatal medicine has gradually developed into a discipline with international influence. Early perinatal medicine activities mainly focused on academic research, personnel training, publication of works, conference organization, and establishment of professional societies. These early initiatives not only laid the foundation for perinatal medicine, but also provided experience and resources for subsequent international cooperation and research. In 2005, the International Academy of Perinatal Medicine was established, which not only fully acknowledged the long-term exploration and accumulation in the field of perinatal medicine, but also marked the entry of perinatal medicine into a new developmental stage. As a platform integrating research, reflection, communication, and dissemination, the International Academy of Perinatal Medicine has greatly promoted the deepening and expansion of research in the global perinatal medicine field, played a key role in practice, and made important contributions to improving the health status of pregnant women and newborns worldwide.

Objective To study the effectiveness of combining antidepressant drug with high-frequency repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)in treating adolescent depression and explore its impact on electroencephalogram. Methods 60 cases of adolescent depression, who admitted to Department of Psychiatry, the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University from September to December 2024 were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 30 cases in each group.Patients of control group were treated with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor(SSRI),while patients of observation group received the same SSRI treatment in addition to high-frequency rTMS.The treatment lasted for 2 weeks. Both groups were assessed by using 24-item Hamilton depression rating scale(HAMD-24)and depression self-rating scale for children(DSRSC)before the start of treatment and at the end of two weeks of treatment.Adverse reactions were recorded throughout the treatment, and electroencephalogram monitoring was taken before and after treatment. Results Observation group showed a significantly higher treatment response rate compared to control group(P<0.05).After two weeks of treatment,HAMD-24 and DSRSC scores in observation group were notably lower than those in control group(P<0.01).Both groups exhibited improvements in brain wave power(δ,θ,α,β)after treatment(P<0.05),with observation group demonstrating superior β wave power compared to control group(P<0.01).Additionally,a negative correlation was found between α and β wave power in the left frontal region and DSRSC scores in observation group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Compared with SSRI treatment,rTMS combined with SSRI treatment can more effectively improve depressive symptoms, increase α and β brainwave power, and the combination therapy does not increase the incidence of adverse reactions, demonstrating good safety.

Objective:To explore the relationship between suicide attempts, school bullying, and psychological resilience in children and adolescents with major depressive disorder(MDD)and school bullying and psychological resilience. Methods:A total of 784 patients with MDD aged 10 to 18 years were included. The Chinese version of the Olweus Bullying Victimization Questionnaire,Adolescent Psychological Resilience Scale, and a suicide attempt assessment were utilized to evaluate school bullying, psychological resilience, and suicide attempt.Stepwise logistic regression was applied to identify the associated factors of suicide attempts. Results:The occurrence of suicide at-tempts in children and adolescents with MDD was positively associated with physical bullying(OR=1.85,95%CI:1.14-3.02)and indirect bullying(OR=1.48,95%CI:1.06-2.04),and negatively associated with higher levels of goal focus(OR=0.62,95%CI:0.45-0.85)and positive cognition(OR=0.62,95%CI:0.45-0.85)at higher levels. Conclusion:Bullying significantly increases the risk of suicide attempts in children and adolescents with MDD,while higher psychological resilience could mitigate this risk.

Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) has become a widely used method in the field of microbial identification. Its obvious advantages including rapidity, great accuracy and high throughput attract many researchers to investigate its potential for usage in other microbiological fields. Currently, several studies have reported MALDI-TOF MS-based analysis of bacterial resistance to antibiotics, which can identify the specific heterogeneous spectrum peaks related to drug resistance through simple visual analysis of the spectrum or more complex analysis of the entire spectrum using informatics methods and statistical approaches. Therefore, MALDI-TOF MS has become a potential tool for detecting antibiotic resistance in bacteria. This review mainly summarized the progress in MALDI-TOF MS-based analysis of bacterial resistance to antibiotics.

Objective To evaluate the effect of ditching for drain on the control of the breed of Oncomelania hupensis snails in beaches of Dongting Lake. Methods From November,2009 to November,2012,an O. hupensis snail infested beach of the Yueyang jail and an O. hupensis snail infested beach of Junshan District were selected as research fields in the eastern Dongting Lake area, and the former,as the intervention field, was performed with the ditching for drain by excavators and the latter,as the control field, was not. Results Before the project implemented, the average soil moisture contents on the beaches in dry seasons of the two fields were both about 35.56%. After the project implemented,in the intervention field, the average soil mois?ture content was 26.53%which was significantly lower than that(35.56%)in the control field(F=6.53,P<0.05). The under?ground water levels in different heights in the intervention field were lower than those in the control field (χ2 = 33.33,P <0.05). Before the project implemented, the natural death rates of the snails were 0.98%and 0.89%in the two research fields re?spectively(P>0.05),and after the project implemented(in 2012),no adult and young snails were found in the interventional field, but in the control field, the average densities of living snails and young snails were 29.37 snails/0.1 m2 and 213±108.45 snails/0.1 m2 respectively. Conclusion The intervention of ditching for drain can decrease the soil moisture contents quickly and change the ecological condition, therefore, can control the breed of O. hupensis snails in the beaches of Dongting Lake.
